I see Cathe has 1 hour of yoga or pilates down for this months rotation. Does anyone have Bryan Kests Power Yoga? I saw it on my dvd club web-site. says it's 2 + hours long. 3 programs - Energize, tone, sweat.
Yes, I have these. It's actually three separate yoga sessions that are roughly an hour long. I love them!
I don't know how much experience you have with yoga, but, being Power Yoga, these are good, tough workouts. I was humbled the first few times I used them. You'll definitely sweat.
Thanks Gayle. I will go ahead & order it now!! Any recommendations as to which one to do first? I have done yoga in the past but not something I do often. I think I have gotten more flexable with SM, balance is so so. Depends on the day
I have the set on VHS and I think their labeled #1 - Energize, #2 - Tone, and #3 - Sweat. The postures get a little more advanced as you go from 1-3, so I'd start with #1.
oh this is an awesome dvd. challenging yet relaxing. energize i use alot for a mix of strength and stretch. the vinyasa helps with my strength while most of the poses ease the sore hips and legs as well as back. and some good eye candy
bryan can talk alot but its always pertaining to the practice and some are bothered by the way he makes some adjustments on the class participants but i don't see anything wrong with it in his videos. i tried mark blanchard's stuff and he was pretty brash with his adjustments. even rolling down the shorts of one lady to "admire" her lower back tattoo.
some others might be total yoga. i found the 4-pack at tj maxx for $14. also shiva rea but she is more new agey in her yoga but yoga shakti is still a great dvd as well.
I have all of Bryan's DVDs and they're all good. If you really get into yoga, I suggest you check out his website: www.poweryoga.com. He's got some really great CDs and downloadable (sp) files. If you don't mind not looking at the TV set (which I don't anymore since I'm really into yoga and don't care how far anyone else stretches), then the CDs/MP files are the way to go. However, these tend to be anywhere from 90-120 minutes, but they are killer!!! He's the most intense yoga instructor and I LOVE him because he models how you don't have to do fancy poses to get a kick-bu++ workout.
