Yoga and Strength training

Hi Cathe! I am new to the forum and the site! I have seen a lot of good information here and in such a friendly, open format! I think it is wonderful that everyone is so supportive. I do have a few questions about overtraining. I hope you can help me! My Goal: I really want to lift my butt. With that in mind, I bought the Gym Style series and ordered the Pyramid upper/lower DVD. Currently, I do Yoga three or four times a week and cardio twice a week. I want to lift my sagging behind and add some muscle but don't want to give up my Yoga! To reach my goal I want to do the lower body at least two or three times a week. Would that be too much? Would I be overtraining if I do Yoga and lower body back to back? Mon, Wed Friday, lower body and then on Tues, Thu, Sat Yoga/upper body/cardio? Please help! Thanks in advance.:)

Gumby, you may want to post your question on the "Open Forum" & check at Videofitness.com which has a lot of knowledgeable yoginas.

You also need to describe the yoga that you are practicing. Yoga can be very strenuous, spiritual, or merely stretching.

All of my yoga instructors have awesome back views. You don't need to give up yoga.

Thanks Debra! I'll do that. I do "power yoga" and hatha. I am just afraid of doing too much. Thanks again for your help.
