I think the problem is that we 'old timers' read the thread as humor (or an attempt at one...whichever you see), while posters who don't yet feel a part of the group, perhaps, or don't have the "hey, we're all friends who can poke a bit of fun" sense of belonging yet see it as being annoyed by their posts.
