Yet ANOTHER p90x thread.....

Cathlete
O.K., so I am way late in the game here, but I have finally read through some of the threads on this series. I have a couple of specific questions.

One, someone said something about paying full price, What is/was full price? All the links to the discount go to the main page and show three payments of 49.95. Is that the discount or the full price? Was it higher before? I can't seem to find a lesser priced way to order anywhere.

Also, the equipment I have is the "Cathe faithful" list. Barbell, dumbells, highstep, step, stability ball, medicine ball, and my new favorite toy...the BOSU! Do you truly need any of the accessories to use this series? What about that tower thing? Bands? (I hate those things) Anything?

What is the food program like? Is it healthy clean eating? I am put off a little by the whole supplements side of anything, and there is a whole page of stuff to order that I won't do. Is this what is recommended in the nutrition plan?

Briee and Kathryn have done it again! I am trusting you gals once more:D

I'm one who ordered full price. It came to $185.50 with shipping (to California, so had tax as well). I didn't order any supplements or extras. I did buy some of the things they recommend (but not from them), I don't think ANY of it is necessary, but I like accessories, so I did buy a few things. I haven't received my kit yet, so I can't answer more specifically about equipment or the program itself, but from everyone I've talked to, there are lots of modifications to get around the equipment thing.

So, I'm wondering if the 15% off is the price they are showing on the website already. It is three payments of 50.00 plus shipping. It sounds a bit less than you paid.

Thanks for responding!

The three payments is full price because they total out to 150 then you pay like $20 for shipping and also some taxes. I just ordered them two days ago with a 20% discount. Go to videofitness.com forums and there is a thread from a couple days ago called "beachbody newsletter - 15% off P90x". Read the whole thing because I think you can actually get a huge discount, I just went ahead and got the 20% but I think you can get more. GOod luck!!!

I didn't get the discount myself, but still think it is worth every penny. These workouts are intense and will push you. It's the pull-ups that get the most questions. I have a bar, but you can use bands and also someone here uses weights like rows instead of the pull-ups. I cheat anyway with the bar...:)...The food program is a very nice part of the package. Yes, it is very clean eating and has daily menus and recipes. I am following another diet though..very similar and I do use some whey protein powder. Like others have said P90X is a good complement to your Cathe workouts....:)...Carole

How similar is the eating plan to BFL?

I tried to order but the website will only allow ordering for vhs. I did the live chat thing, and the guy was taking my order but it would not come up with the 15% off like the website showed. He said he was no allowed to discount it. Very confusing because I never entered a coupon code, just straight ordering off the site showed the discount.

I have seen a thread on the door gym thing. That might be something to consider, but I really don't want to buy any more extras. If I can use dumbells that would be great. Is there any advantage to the bands? How well does it all modify to what I currently have?

Thanks everyone!

I'm not familiar with BFL. I am doing "Eat to Live" which is LOTS of fruits and vegeys! My guess would be this nutrition progam might be like many out there and modifications would work there too. Maybe you can do a search on the door gym thing. I read that too and it doesn't hurt the doorway at all. In the workouts there is always someone doing the bands. It looks effective and if I didn't have a pull-up bar I would use bands. I hope it works for you...so they are only available in VHS now? Anyway you get them still makes for an awesome workout...:)...Carole

Hi,

On that thread from videofitness that I mentioned above, it has a link to the 20% discount, it just takes you right into the beachbody website where you choose p90x, order it, and it comes up with a 20% discount. I saw that someone got the 20% and on top of that another 15% with some other rebate type thing, but I just did the 20% thing and it worked fine. I tried to copy it for you but it isin't working right, it is the forth message down in the thread that I mentioned above. Good luck,,

You guys are killing me!!! I have my credit card half out of my wallet right now....make me stop!!! Based on all of the feedback, these workouts sound amazing. Should I or shouldn't I? The bigger question is; Can I justify spending this much money?

Kristie, when does the discount appear? I went to the beachbody site and put the p90x in my cart, but it doesn't say a word about the discount. I am afraid to proceed because I don't know if I did this right. Is the discount reflected at the very end of the checkout procedure?

Thanks for any info on this!:)

When I did it, I followed a link on another thread. The discount showed up in the shopping cart (15%). The problem was that the only thing that could be ordered was the vhs and I want dvd. That was when I clicked on the live chat help. The guy there said I could order it through him right then, that it was secure, and he could order the dvd format, but there was no way to get the discount. He explained that there was a problem with the website, and because of the holiday, the person who would fix the site problem of dvd/vhs ordering was gone until tomorrow. He said I could try to order it tomorrow from the site with the discount.

Hope this all makes sense, but I will try again in the morning.

Sorry if it isin't working for you guys. I just ordered it 2 days ago. The discount showed up the first time it told me how much it would cost. It said like 114 (20 discount) then later when I checked out it added up the shipping (which was 20 buckaroos) and the tax, which was like 11 and the total came to 153 I think.

Good luck, Keep checking videofitness or ask someone there I'm sure they can help you get the discount somehow.

Sorry about that...

Kristie

It Worked!!

It worked, and I sure hope you catch this in time. I just tried the three links that I used yesterday, and only the last one gave the discount with either option (dvd/vhs) available. I'm ordering right now:D :D

The thread is on the second page, and it is called "What's so great about Power90X?". The link is in a post about 2/3 of the way down the page, and I think it is the third post with a blue link in it, posted by RLMS. I wish I knew how to post it here:( Sorry. Regardless, you can try the links in that page until you find the right one. Basically, you click on it and it takes you directly to the p90x page. Click on "add to cart" and when that page comes up it will either show 15% off, or it won't. That is when you will know for sure if you found it.

I am taking the 15% and running with it. I tried a couple of other coupons, but they don't seem to be working. This is better than a stick in the eye....as grandpa used to say....and makes up for the shipping.

Good luck!!

;-)

RE: It Worked!!

I may have been a bit hasty, or they are being a bit tricky. I had made it all the way through the ordering process, page after page where they encourage you to buy more, and at the very end my total took a jump. When I looked closer, the set had been miraculously changed back to the 149.00 price....no discountx( How did that happen?

I will keep you posted. Why am I so determined to get a deal? One thing I will say about Cathe, when you order, you order. You don't need to keep saying "no thank you" to accessories and supplements and......

I ordered with a discount last night and called today with a question on my order. I was told that the order wasn't in their system, but I should call again later to check. I called again later and was told that my order wasn't in the system and I needed to re-order.

I received an order confirmation and an order number, so I have no idea what is going on and don't want to order again in case the first order somehow goes through.

I've read negative comments about Beachbody's customer service, so I feel like I was prepared for this to happen. I'm pretty frustrated, though.

Sheesh....the things you all have gone through to order this series. I ordered through butterfly.com and got the 15% discount and then butterfly gives you another 20%, but you can't get the actual rebate for 60-90 days...but you will get it (they assure me - we'll see). My complete total including shipping was $149.99 and I am getting another $20 back in a few weeks.

Dani, the only thing I think you may want to have depending on your physical ability is a pull up bar. I have not used bands and haven't needed them - I don't like them either. Everyones different though. I also don't like the sales pitches for products. I appreciate that Cathe has never done this. That aside.....you will love the workouts, they will challenge you to a whole new level. At least until Cathe comes out with a similar series - PLEASE CATHE??

I wish I was prepared! I actually gave up on the idea of getting a deal and was just going to go for it. I had it all ready and the last page had me log in with an email and password. I put in the exact one that THEY SENT ME, confirmed from what I signed up with yesterday, and they have no knowledge of me. I called to try and place the order and they said their "system was down" and they would call back in an hour. In three hours I called again and told the lady that I have been prepared to spend a bunch of money for the last two days, but their "system" wouldn't let me. She nicely said they would call me at 6 in the morning! Imagine, 6 am!! I don't know if I will want to deal with that in the morning. I am thinking how badly do I want this now? If I don't get a deal, I won't buy it after all this. I probably won't even get the promised call, so I won't hold me breath.

Off to butterfly, thanks Briee!

Hey Briee, what do you (or anyone for that matter) think of the bands for travel? I lost a whole week of exercise when I went to my sisters because it was impossible to lug all those weights along. The same thing when we went to Hawaii. I am just thinking with summer, and no worries of snowstorms for these few months, I get off the mountain a lot more. If I could substitute them in workouts it may be worth it. I would love to hear feedback from anyone who likes them. I truthfully don't, but I thought in a pinch.....

Thanks - I emailed Amber Otto yesterday, but haven't heard back from her. I'm hoping that she can fix my order (or nonorder?).
