Xers - Xers - Xers - Xers

Xers,

One more thing, I was looking at the blog today. I think the new series looks GREAT! I can't wait to get it.

Tracy

Finally back! I haven't really gotten anything accomplished today except for my workout this morning...but at least I have pretty toes again and am feeling a little more rested after my nap!

I had to rework my rotation this week a bit...so here it is...today was day 1.

day1 SS cardio
day2 MM upper only premix
day3 rest (BFF here!)
day4 L&G extreme premix
day5 DM cardio plus upper body premix
day6 yoga
day7 SS cardio

Let me know any thoughts...

I still have a little housework to do before my BFF gets here on Friday evening...not that she cares if my house is clean or not! But since it is the first time she will see my new house, I at least want the floors to be mopped and the toilets to be clean. I am planning on just hanging around out at the house on Friday evening. Then during the day on Saturday we are going to a few antique and furniture stores as well as to a nice local mall. Then I am taking her to a nice restaurant here in town on Saturday night called Southern Roots...and then she heads back to her house around noonish on Sunday. I wish she could be here longer, but I will be so excited to see her. I am going down to visit her in Charleston towards the end of August.

Okay...enough chatter...onto personals...I'm behind!!!

First of all.....
Wendy...Where are you??? Isn't that computer there yet?!?

Traci...Sorry you tennis was rained out last night. Darn storms! CTX is such a great upper body workout, isn't it! You can get a realm pump from it for sure! I think the new series will be a bit of an updated version of CTX which is perfect for me. CTX was my first major Cathe purchase and it has a special place in my heart as it changed the way I worked out. LOL about golf and fishing...my DH abhors both...I think because there is no one to compete with!

Swifty..What a treat..we get to see you 2 days in a row! Your new avatar looks great...Your arms are phenomenal! I don't do ME much..I guess I should drag it out. Have fun at the pool!

TG...I always liked S&A too! I think it is definitely Tony's best. Glad your little squirrel came by to say hello. How much longer until you can get that darn tooth fixed?

Cheryl...I get it about being so excited to meet Cathe...I would probably just stutter! I remember when I got a personal reply to a question I asked on the Ask Cathe forum...I told everyone I knew for days that I had gotten an email from her and she had made me my own personal rotation. I couldn't believe how nice she was. Good luck on keeping your cool...maybe some adult diapers would be helpful!

Amy...What a sweet brother you have! My mom sends me flowers every year on my bday. Is your DH's appt a follow up about the diabetes, or a check up of some kind?

Tracy...So sorry about your DH's issues right now. Why is it men can't seem to be angry at whatever they are really angry at instead of taking out on the people who love them the most? I'm glad you and your DS's are going to get out of town...and out of the range of fire! I am sure he just feels sad and scared and overwhelmed, but, of course, that is no reason to lash out. Hopefully all the yoga you are doing will help you relax a bit! I just can't fathom getting my six year olds brows waxed. Although, she kind of needs it....who cares??

Sandra...LOL about the pregnancy comment from Traci! My mom said the same thing to me the other day when my cycle was running a bit behind..I had to remind her of the triple protection BC I am on!! Glad you enjoyed Candace today...Sounds like you made it into a really hard interval at the end.

Jeanette...Got another chuckle this morning imagining your entrance into the your house the evening your door broke for good...What a funny story that was! Hope you have a great time on your golf outing this evening. Wow...on DH's mother! Sounds like she is a piece of work!! I really enjoyed KPC when I did that last week. Thought of you during my ride today...beside being nervous about being on the road, I really had a blast! I got out before it too hot and it was very enjoyable. I am going to have to get a water bottle and a mirror so that I can go a bit farther. I also have to remember to take my cell phone with me. Do you use an odometer at all? Since I'm just kind of riding where I want, I have no idea how far I am going. I can tell you that I wasn't going too fast up those hills though!!

Laurie...I am doing MM tomorrow...I have always really liked that one. Please send Bryan K. a kiss for me...I think he is kind of yummy! At first I thought the hair was too much...but it's grown on me now. LOL about working with a group of men...I remember those days...Lots of potty humor...just like 3 year old boys...They never seem to grow up!

Nicole...Glad the yoga helped yesterday...Good luck with the SS/PP 3 times through....Did that one a couple of weeks ago...Oh, mama!

Well.....good gracious....I think I'm done! Hopefully not too many people posted while I was on! I am going to go spray paint a couple of things and then vacuum and mop and clean the toilets...Anyone want to join my little party?

Hey guess who's on here in the afternoon? Yep, the garage door installer came later than expected, so I decided to call in to work and tell them I couldn't make it. He just left a bit ago. I don't want to be too tired for my golf date tonite, LOL! The garage door really looks nice, DH will be very pleased with it too.

Laurie, sounds like a great workout for you. I sure wish I could devote a little more time to working out each morning, but I like my oatmeal and computer posting time too. Maybe after retirement... I need to try my CC#6 with Candice too. This heat is just tough to do interval work in. I agree, men can be so very childish.

Debra, good job on the bike ride. Did you ever get some bike shorts? You don't seem to complain about your seat/crotch hurting so I take it that you are using bike shorts. The mirror is great for reassuring you that people are moving over. I tend to pick early morning for less traffic on some roads, also, I pay attention to where the sun is in relation to being in a drivers eyes. For instance late afternoon, I'll be heading the opposite way for the driver's looking into the sun. We can be tough to see sometimes. The hills will definitely make you strong. Also, core work is super for bike riding too. I do have a bike computer that measures cadence, mph, distance, time, max speed and average speed. You've got to get one that at least has distance, max speed, average speed, time and of course mph. They are pretty cheap. Of course you need to drink water along the way. I'm glad you will get a mirror, they are a must in my opinion. On occasion, I've seen a chip truck ahead, a log truck coming up behind me. That's when I leave the road. Without the mirror, you're just hoping that they don't hit you and have no control. With a mirror, you can control more than you think. Plus, your left turns are easier to make (always be sure and check over your shoulder too).

Well, I will either take a short nap or start working on the bike newsletter. Guess which one I'm voting for?

Jeanette

Tracy, my sympathies again to you having to deal with a DH that is dealing with a problem. Yes, they tend to take it out on us sometimes. Like we should be suffering too, just because they are. I hope you get that vacation in anyway. You and the kids need it for sure. The CC's are great, great, great! Do you have any of them yet? I've never even considered Cardio Fusion with the 8" step. The lazy Xer here only uses 6".

Sandra, congrats on completing CC#6! I know that is a tough one from listening to it once. Don't you feel so accomplished?

Traci, LOL re: your DH's bumper sticker! Too funny! Now us women would never think of doing that. We are so very different about some things for sure, actually most things.

Swifty, your GT must be one awesome bike! Wish we all could get together and ride sometime, wouldn't that be fun! I promise to post pictures when the tile is finished and stove is installed. It's been a good project and fun for DH and I to work together (after he quit complaining).

A quickie for Ms Debra then I MUST start dinner....

x( MY THOUGHT IS THAT DM "ANYTHING" is going to HURT after LG Extreme!}( You love booty torture - OH MY- I'm blushing!:+

Jeez...it's hot outside!! I got my spray painting done and put out some lights along the driveway...those solar powered things...to line the driveway at night. Just looking at my pooch as she is chasing some bug...she is just walking around snapping at it....Oh! There it goes...a big gulp! Bye Bye bug!

Traci...You think I should switch my yoga and DM days??? And I can't imagine you are blushing after your naked escapades with DH and the brothel talk!! LOL!! You'll get a kick out of my next post to Jeanette...speaking of booty!

Jeanette...I will go ahead and invest in an odometer of some sort...and the mirror...Today I had a trash truck stopped in the road with people waiting to get around him and I couldn't see if cars were coming up behind me and I was on a curve and I could just see someone passing me and crashing into the garbage men!! As far as my butt cushioning is concerned...Traci was very sweet to send me some bike shorts...which I used while I was getting used to the seat of the bike. By the time I left Illinois, I didn't need them anymore...keep in mind I'm not riding all day like you! I thought I might need them this morning since it has been a while since I road...but it was so hot and those things make me hotter...I just wore regular shorts. I was fine. I guess I have enough padding of my own back there that it doesn't bother me!!! Once I get into longer rides, though, I could see needing them. I want some looser ones...I need to get to one of the local bike shops and get some gear, I guess! There is supposed to be a nationally ranked bike store in the next town over...I'll try to get there sometime next week. Glad you got an unscheduled day off today...What a nice surprise!

Okay....I'm off again!

Hi Debra,
When you get the mirror, get the kind that attaches to your sunglasses, not your helmet. The kind that a lot of people like is the "Take A Look". I have to set it right to the farthest front of my left side piece on my glasses. When properly adjusted, you will only have to barely move your eyes to the left to see the mirror. You will see traffic coming behind you long before you hear them. I am a driver too so am keenly aware of cyclists hogging the road two abreast when they could/should be single file. I believe in cyclists and drivers sharing the road. There are too many bad feelings toward cyclists and many of them are deserved. You will like a cyclometer, capturing your fastest time with the max speed function is nice. I also understand about not needing to wear bike shorts. I ride with a very very thin pad. Also shorts that are too big will chafe in the chamois area because they don't stay in place. Just when you find the right pair of shorts, they discontinue the line.

Jeanette

Jeanette...You sweet woman...Thank you for all the advice! I really appreciate it! The mirror you are talking about...will that attach to my regular glasses? Or is it like a permanent thing? I guess I could wear it all the time on my regular glasses to watch people behind me at the mall...LOL! Can you tell me what brand of shorts you would suggest, too? Thanks again!!!

Hi, everyone -

WOW, crazy day, but had to at least check in and scan through posts. Did a 6 a.m. run with partner this morning that went great - but took up my planned hour for B&G so STILL no LB workout yet this week. Great cardio workouts, but tomorrow is WEIGHTS, big time.

Tracy, HUUUUUGGGGGS girl on the DH issues!!! I can so much relate, and I hope you are hanging in there, girl!

Amy, you will go to Philly a day early??? I am so jealous! You lucky gal! I will call the hotel and make sure they are expecting you first, probably, but the looks of things.

I will get in somewhere around 4:30 p.m. - planning to hit the hotel and check in and then head to Cathe's gym.

Teddygirl, you poor thing, it sounds like your tooth is still giving you grief. I am laughing at the mental vision of the jacknife into your bed :+ :+ :+

Dear Traci, I am sorry the tennis got cancelled. We're getting rain and thunder hear, too. Not too much, but threatening.

Business is going GREAT. Evil former bus. partner laid of three people yesterday... we're helping them find new positions. Wow. What a turn of events. Life is good. Glad to be where I am!!!

Cheryl

I'm Back!!!!!:) :) :)

Y'all don't make things easy for me! Goodness!!!! I've got a lot of catch up reading to do tonight! It'll have to wait until after I fully set up my NEW Dell computer!:7

BBS!
Wendy

Oh! My! Head! Is! Spinning!

I'm too old for too much information at once!!!:7 Downloading, installing, rebooting, repeat, reading, reading and more reading!

SOMEONE! Give me a laconic update on everyone!!!}(

Then, anyone know how to use Windows Vista? What's up with the little picture, news updates, time box, and the temp in Round Rock that's displayed on the right side of my monitor screen? I'm soooo lost! My mind hurts!:7

Quick update on my fitness life cycle:

Monday: DOMS from B&G took full effect by dinnertime! Took my friend out for birthday dinner. Ate a salad! :) Had the twins walk on my legs and glutes. Then rolled around on the floor for half an hour in a feeble attempt to stretch out the soreness. Later that night (actually Tuesday at 3:30 in the morning), I did KPC warm-up, drills and the first two combos. Fell asleep around 5AM.

Tuesday: Still suffered DOMS from B&G. Woke up around 10:00. Too hot to ride bikes. Had lunch at Olive Garden. Split an appetizer and entree with youngest ds (Shrimp Scampi and Chicken Scampi:p). We didn't split dessert! (White chocolate raspberry cheesecake!:9)Previewed DM. Later that night (actually Wednesday around 2:30 A.M.), I did KPC minus the drills and Eoin's PY4H Magically Hips. Took a bath, went to bed at 5AM.

Wednesday: Not quite as sore! Napped most of the day!!! Took oldest ds to eye doctor appointment. Shopped for RT (ziplock bags, disposable washclothes, sudafed sinus, etc).

Today was LowMax "cardio only" premix followed by B&G floorwork. The floorwork was easier this time. Only because my glutes weren't exhausted (nothing pre- about it!) from the standing legwork. Drove home and set up the new computer.

Lessons learned:
*I suck at early AM workouts on no sleep!
**I do much better with sleeping before working out!
***I figured out how to absorb step impact using my muscles, not joints!!!
****I learned out how to place my weight on my heels for repeaters!
*****I felt that this works my thutt area and not my overdeveloped quads!
*And most importantly! I have to buy a laptop! I miss y'all too much!!!! Plus, I can't keep up with a bunch of chatty Xers when gone for more than a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p :+ :7 ;-)

See you in the morning! I'm going to snuggle with my handsome husband and dream sweet dreams!

Ooooo! Which reminds me! Y'all haunt me in my sleep!!!!! I had a dream that we all got together for a Xer roadtrip in Harrisburg. (I don't know why Harrisburg? I know Debra doesn't live there! Ha-Ha) And, not only did y'all IGNORE me, but you ignored my cute 6 month old twins!!!!! (I don't know why 6 months! I know my twins are 8 years old) Anyhow, I was so hurt! I got on my bike (it was a nice one too) and biked home. (Yes, I realized in my dream that home took 1.5 hours in a CAR.) On my way, I went down slides ON MY BIKE! Got lost, but found a Dunkin Doughnuts! I woke up from my nightmare when I wasn't able to buy any coffee!!! LOLOLOL

See! My mind is so small! LOL sigh

Remind me to tell y'all about being pulled over by the state trooper tomorrow!:) Oh! RT Questions... forgot today's question already!!!! Yesterdays ?... Hi Cathe! No, I haven't practiced in front of a mirror yet. I'm too busy looking for changes in my glutes!:p }( :7 ;)

Sweet Dreams!
Wendy

OH! I change my mind!!! The first thing I would say to Cathe:

Do you ever get monthly induced cellulite?

I'd have to practice saying that with a straight face in front of a mirror AND be on some serious drugs to say that to her. Considering I have to practice using my friend's dvd camcorder, I won't have time to practice. Not to mention that I don't have any druggie peeps!}(

Good Night for real!

Wendy, giddy on life and DDCoffee!:7

It's so late and the boys are in the bath. I must keep this short so as not to lose one of them to drowning! I missed chatting today. I had two manicures, a pedicure, a waxing and a haircut on tap for today. I should just start working in a shop again:) So many people, so little time! At least I made money today from home with the kids running around:D Went to mom's for dinner so here I am at 10:30 letting you all know where I disappeared to.
Tomorrow is the beach and the grocery store I really hope to sit and chat longer than little blips all about me:p

See you in the a.m.,

Nicole
