Xers...........Working Wednesday...................

YogaX

I have to trade CardioX for YogaX because I had to leave early and take DS#1 to the orthodontist. I was hoping for better news but it looks like head gear will be the answer. He'll only have to wear it at night so that's a good thing. He has been really good about all of the messing with his teeth. it was supposed to be 4-5 months and it's been 10. He is such a trooper.

I have to go play trains with DS#3 but I'll be back later:D

Back for one or 2 personals before I tackle my workout today...

Teddygirl...
I know how those men can sap your energy sometimes...LOL! Or you just get wrapped up hanging out with them and just don't quite get to the workout. I am sure you will be able to get your UB in tonight!!

Tracy...
Sorry you lost a long post...I hate it when that happens!! have fun with legs this evening...Will it be Shiva after??

Sandra...
I can't tell you how proud I am of you for branching out to other step instructors....Maybe you will give me the courage to do the same thing! I am just such a goofball, it is really hard for me to get new choreography down. I promise when I have a test or a presentation the next day, I will not let CB come over and sidetrack me. I knew I really didn't have to do anything for class today, so it was okay. It's okay if he comes over tonight since I have no class tomorrow. And I tell you, I know I am the most prepared person for the class anyway....I see a lot of folks just kind of floundering around. And the professor has give VERY clear instructions as to what she is looking for...and most of them still don't do it which just baffles me. Good for you in keeping with the eating plan. I think the plan is fairly simple to follow...well, as long as you follow it...LOL! I always have a problem with squeezing my dumbbells too tight too...I really have to concentrate not to do it. I think Audrey Hepburn was probably the most beautiful woman ever. She sang 'Moon River' while sitting on her fire escape and her upstairs neighbor was listening. And then I think they play it again at the end.

Okay...off to exercise...back again after I get the diva from school!

Debra - We love WVA. We used to vacation in West VA almost every summer. We'd rent a cabin at the end of a forest service road on the edge of the national forest and frolic in the woods with the kids. I guess your frolicing will be a little different......but what a great place to go!

Tracy

Quickie check-in
Muscle Endurance completed...OMG- can there be any more leg presses in it? ;( My poor booty is on fire... its very very sore & said a few choice words @ the TV.... I dont think I've ever done ME as produced before..certainly not the day after B&G.. You old timers know I'm not a big fan of Full Body workouts....Yes these 3 weeks will be good for this old dog;-)
My shoulders are on fire (LUV her shoulder routine in this) and my triceps are none to happy at the moment... GREAT workout!

I'll be back in mornin' to catch up with everyone.... Great evening to all. :*

Hi all,

Just stopping to chat for a minute before I workout.

I did Hi/Lo Challenge yesterday and have I commented on how good a cardio workout that is? I'll try to contain my enthusiasm, but wow is that a GREAT workout!

Traci - I'm going to get both of Amy's dvds because she is on my list of approved purchases. Heck I can just keep my self in a constant state of shock! I saw that CIA ad too and I'm temped to buy the one from Carlos, but I probably won't. Once a kid is this old and has this many behaviors the chances of them improving are not good. Lots of times the family ends up not being able to take care of them. Obviously the behaviors are worse when demands are put on them, so at home they usually just sit and do nothing.

Lea - When my back was at it's worst I wore a back brace. It did help. Ice helps too. I had trouble at L5 and S1. Be careful, it is nothing to fool around with. Did they suggest stretching? The PT at work, and I read too, said that more often now they are suggesting light activity and stretching.

Jeanette - Sometimes I think we tend to ignore the types of workouts that are hard for us. It really doesn't matter if you just workout for fun, but since you ride rather competitively, it might help you to add in some lower weight work, at least in the off season. I've been working legs consistently 2x per week for a long time. If you follow a planned rotation, then it forces you to work the parts you tend to ignore, plus someone else, or yourself created it with a specific purpose in mind, when they weren't tired or thinking about what is fun in the moment.

Christiane - Happy travels.

Carol - I know, sometimes the thought of a certain workout is just not pleasant. I can't figure out why the X has so few leg workouts. It's definitely a weakness. IMAX 3 is a good sub. It has plenty of plyo.

Laurie - You guessed right, no floor work, but I do like that leg work. It's either that or MIS that starts with something besides squats. I hate it when the dogs get loose. Sometimes our gate will not get shut tight and then they are gone. Luckily the Dobie really isn't interested in going too far. The other two are a little more hard headed.

Sandra - Glad to hear you enjoyed the workout! I think once you do it up through 5 you'll still be impressed. 3 & 4 definitely get the HR up. Five was a little tricky for me. I try to engage my core when I'm doing biceps and I really bend my knees to take any strain off of my back, but I'm going to have to be really careful if I go heavier. I'm not sure how to get around that. Please try Hi/lo challenge next. I want someone to see if they think it is as good as I do.

TG - Sounds like you just love your cardio too much!

Nicole - Hi, sorry about the dental work. Headgear does not sound pleasant. How is your back? We don't want anyone else on the IL list.

Tracy

Finally back again! I got my workout done...willPower and Grace....which I really like...it just doesn't normally fit into any sort of rotation since it is a mix of cardio, stretching, yoga, and core. I am planning on a date with Eoin in the morning! Cb will be here in a bit for basketball night. It looks like we may actually get some frozen precipitation here....DD is excited since school will probably be canceled if it is half as bad as they are predicting. The good thing about the South is that the temps will be up by Friday, so it will all melt then.

personals.....

Traci...
Thanks for all the Amy info...not sure if I will preorder. I will probably wait until I get some reviews from you guys. I had to LOL about DH's DOMS...poor guy, he had no idea what he was in for!! Also had to laugh at your 'late night'! You are going have to stay up a bit later than that here!! Good job on your workout today...Isn't ME one of the ones you told me I had to do for 4 weeks for my lean rotation?? Are you trying to kill me? Aren't you feeling all slim and trim with the mega weight loss!!! I'm telling you, at the point in my life, I keep the weight off better with heavy weight work than with loads of cardio.

Jeanette...
The panic in the South is just crazy when it comes to any frozen precipitation...It really cracks me up! I know about that naughty CB, he wasn't even supposed to come by last night. Silly man. Think of me this weekend as I lounge around in my hot tub! Glad I won't have to break up you and Traci over Andy Williams...I have to say...you ladies are showing your age a bit...LOL! I'm glad your mom's glaucoma is under control. My mom is fine for now, but her vision is one of the reasons I wanted to move back to NC.

Laurie...
Yes, the cabin sounds great...and it is only a little under 3 hours from here...so that shouldn't be bad. I am sure I will be the only one on the roads tomorrow. I guess the dog will just slide right on down the driveway...I am sure she doesn't remember the snow and ice in Illinois. Hope you aren't feeling too achy this evening from your fall.

Christiane...
Hope you are having fun in the States while you are here! I bet 2 households take tons of work! I can only imagine. I never liked Tony's yoga...I always feel like yoga should be more calming and he is yelling the whole time...LOL! Hope you ended up having a good workout today.

Carol...
I am stocked up in wild anticipation of a real snow storm...LOL! It really just doesn't happen here very often...and I have 2 4 wheel drive vehicles, so I think I will be able to make it wherever I need to go. DD is so funny....she is so excited about the prospect of a snow day! We never had those in Illinois...so it is very novel to her. Glad you had fun with Imax3 today....I think it is good to sub when you are not feeling the love...It keeps you motivated. Way to go with DS and his karate! I was surprised about the retinal photo too, but it is better than the drops!

Nicole...
Waving as you run around with the boys! Sorry about the headgear...That is no fun. I had braces back in the day where you had them for YEARS. I got them in 6th grade and had them until I was a sophomore in high school!

Tracy...
I imagine we will do some outdoor frolicking as well...LOL! We are staying about 30 minutes north of Beckley...at On the Gorge...I haven't been there before, but the pics look great! CB has been to some different resorts up there...I am just looking forward to getting away. We may go skiing one day...or just hiking...we're going to talk about it tonight. So glad you are enjoying the Hi/Lo...what makes it different?? I usually really don't like hi/lo...so sell me on it.

Lea...
Take care of that back.....and I think that CB may be a keeper after all....Who knew?? I am taking an interpersonal communication class as a prerequisite for the physical therapy program.

Wow! I am actually caught up I think!! I hope I didn't miss anyone...Waving to all of those MIA today. See you all in the morning!

Last post before I go do-do and get replenished for tomorrow's travel. Had L&B + ABX and my-oh-my was I struggling today!x( A few times I had to push pause as I was light headed... Well some days you're just not 100% there I guess. Some more personals before I go:

Carol~~ Congratulations on your son's white belt. We went through all of that. When we lived in Buffalo we all trained in Tae-Kwon-Do and it was fun. But overtime, each for their own reasons dropped and I was the only one training. It's very good for children as it teaches them respect, dedication and hard work.

Jeanette~~ Yep! I'm already leaving tomorrow. But this is quite unusual for me. I usually come about once/month and stay at least 1 week. This was just so I could see DH...although having said that he had business diners both Monday and Tuesday.:+ And we've been married for 30 years, we met in High School:D

Laurie~~ I had a smile on my face when reading about Cami. I can remember when our dog, Tiger would do something he wasn't supposed to, not only his ears were flat against his head but his tail was hugging his belly!!! :p :p :p

Sandra~~ Glad you had a good w/o. It's always tricky when you have to work around pain or injuries. As for the stool it's on carpet, but what I didn't mention is that it's a swirling stool and of course it swearls... so I'll be anxious to work with the bands. As for Tony's advice he said what I knew deep down but I panicked when I started feeling the sharp pain and muscle spasms. Said to ice it for the 1st 24 hours and to alternate ice and heat for 2 days. Then start slowly and he gave me a few stretches to do which I will. Even if the pain and discomfort are gone I still feel a "knot" on the side.

Debra~~Well as your weather is supposed to go up this weekend, ours in MI is supposed to go in the single digits by Sunday. Glad I'll be in Lux by then.

Well ladies, tata, bonsoir, Adi, goodby and Auf Wiedersehen! "See" you Friday or Saturday.

Hi ladies,
Had a good spin with the Garage Boys. There were 6 of us spinning tonite. I looked over at the fella next to me, he had steam coming off of him. The garage temp was 40 degrees, but that actually works great so you don't get overheated. It was a Spinerval Time Trial workout tonite. Lots of variation and the time went quickly (60 minutes). I left at that point, but he rest of the fellas were still a'spinnin, with another 40 minutes to go.

Laurie, have had that happen many times with the dogs taking off, especially when you are ready to go somewhere. I'm sure the dogs know when we are unhappy with them. Oh well, at least she knew where home was. How is DH feeling today? Does he have a doctor appointment? So sorry about slipping on the ice. Are you feeling sore? I hate walking on ice and had to walk on it for a short way in my bike shoes after the spin. I slipped a little.

Debra, good job on your presentation. Can't do better than an A. I think you will do real well with your studies. Ooooh, the cabin on the mountain sounds wonderful! You enjoy it girl! You, CB and Andy. Personally, that sounded better than a trip to the ocean right now. Maybe you'll be able to watch the snow fall while sitting in the hot tub with the wine and Andy. Ohhhh, heaven!- I hate to even tell you how long I had braces but it was much longer than you had them. I still wear a retainer one night a week. I find Amy's Hi-Lo much more interesting than Cathe's. My mind has to be working and listening well to her. Lots of turning changes of direction, not endless repeaters. Of course, I've only done the one workout of hers. Maybe Tracy or Sandra can tell you more.

Lea, yep, I'm back with my once a week Garage Boys. I missed the last 3 sessions due to Christmas and other things, but should be back on schedule every Wednesday. Hope you are feeling better.

Sandra, guess that does it, I'm going to order Amy's Step Challenge II. I love trickier choreo. Good job on staying with the eating plan. I'm still a bit hungry but not the ravenous tear off the cabinet doors kind, which I think is a good sign for me. Even with low low calories, I wasn't that hungry. I had plenty of energy tonite for my spin session so guess I'm eating enough.

Nicole, sorry your DS has to have headgear. I didn't know that kids still wore that kind of stuff. Back in my day, I had very brutal types of braces. I had headgear, a "hayrake" in the bottom of my mouth (cruel spikes that kept your tongue from pressing on your teeth), rubber bands criss crossed every which way and other stuff I think I've blocked out LOL. Yep, had braces for years and years it seemed. They've come a long way from those methods.

Traci, good job with your ME workout. I noticed I have a little upper body DOMS today from my SJP workout yesterday. Did you make Wendell whimper tonite?

Tracy, I'm with you and think that Amy's Hi-Lo Dome Challenge cardio is great. I haven't finished all the combos on that one yet, but plan on it. I have to check my Fitness Freak circuit rotation to see when I can do cardio again, and legs. I need to get those leg working days in there. You are absolutely right.

Christiane, sorry you felt a bit light headed. I've felt a little nausea during some workouts, but it usually passes right away. Not sure what causes that. My DH and I have been married 28 years now. I would imagine the spinning stool would be tougher to use for anything assisted. Kind of like when we stand on an office chair to get something up high. It spins and is unstable. Hope you have a good trip back home. Check in with us soon, so nice to have you in this checkin. Any pictures of yourself that you can post?

Okay, got to plan my meals for tomorrow on WW.

Jeanette
