Hello lady Xers!
Well, just wanted to report that the wind gods were with me today and guess what? Hardly any wind at all. We had 5 ladies riding today for the bike time trials - 3 of them had never ridden a time trial before. there were also 4 or 5 guys. I was surprised that there weren't more riding, but guess some of the guys are sick with colds and allergies. Anyways, I rode well and beat my personal best by 50 seconds from last year!!! I was sooo jazzed by that. My goal for this year was to be in the 35 minute mark as my best time last year (at the very end of the season) was 36:10. I did the ride tonite in 35:20 (average speed of 20.4 mph). I thought of all of you while I was out there and it made me smile (or was it a grimace), and felt very thankful that I have support from you very tough, but tender ladies. Anyway, enough of me.
Laurie, sorry about AF showing up. What a PITA she is! I never did get my form right for heavy pants and ended up straining my back a couple times while doing that one. I ended up not doing it anymore at the end.
Just moved the old furniture to the garage as the new stuff will be here between 9:30 and 12:30 tomorrow. Probably won't go in to work as I'll just have to turn around later. Will go back in after the furniture is delivered. Looking forward to that for sure (the furniture, not going to work
). Your meals look good, yummy!
Sandra, thanks for the good wind wishes and fast legs (and smile compliment). It worked! I'll be doing a different rotation than P90X. Will save that for later, maybe during the holidays again as it worked out well for me and by then the cycling season is wound down. How is your DH doing with his cycling? How did your career counseling go today? Bummer for the snow. We may have some on Thursday they are saying. Hate that as it is my cycling day. We desperately need rain here in California. They say it's going to be a bad fire season. I work in the department that sends all the inmates out to fight fires so it is a positive aspect of the prison system. I need to push myself and get that sore ab feeling from AbX again.
Traci, LOL re: Miracle Whip and No Pudge Brownies. If I'd have had some NP Brownie mix, I would have definitely treated myself to it after the time trial tonite. Thanks again for the good vibes.
Katie, you are smart to rest up and not push it with the cardio. I have a friend that is an awesome bike rider. He caught a cold and told himself it was allergies or something and kept riding. He's had this lousy thing for about 4 weeks now. He's sorry he pushed himself because it has really set back his racing. Know he will get it back though.
Deb, for the first 2-3 days of P90X, I felt the same way as you did. I was starving! After the 3rd day, that feeling went away and I was fine. I actually like having a hungry feeling instead of blah from eating all the time, even if it is good clean food. My body just does not do well with more calories. I do well on 1 carb serving a day and I have it in the morning in the form of my beloved oatmeal.
Wendy, there was a guy taking pics today and he got some of me, but not at the speed sign. If he sends them to me, I'll post to my Picture Trail. Glad you figured a way to get the staples out of the furniture. You silly girl! DH and my DS moved the furniture out a little bit ago so I just need to vacuum there in the morning before the new stuff comes. Kudos for you for attempting to upholster your furniture. I wouldn't even know where to start, but honestly have no gumption to do it at all. There used to be a prison inmate program out here and they would reupholster furniture for dirt cheap. You just had to buy the material and cushions. I got 2 couches done. That program closed down so no more of that. I never took singing lessons, but Lord knows I could have used them. I'm an alto. Heard a music teacher say once that most altos are lazy sopranos. Soprano is definitely out of my comfort zone. Love to harmonize. We had a really neat singing group for about 10 years. Nice to be so mobile, no sound equipment, just a pitch pipe and find a good alley for acoustics.
Hi Amy! Glad you are checking in. You will love it! Hope your box shows up soon. I never got a confirmation, delivery notice or anything. It just appeared, like magic!
Hi Lea! I've been wondering where you are. What have you been doing that's keeping you away from us? Hope it's nothing bad and just plain old life busyness. Come back, we miss you!
Debra! Here's a happy dance for you signing a contract!! So happy for you! Thanks for the well wishes today. Glad you are listening and taking a rest day when needed.
Well that's about it, need to restart my computer as it is incredibly slow right now. See y'all in the morning.
