Happy Tuesday X'ers

Planning the big legs days of mish moshing segments from Tonys
Sweat 5/6
Plyo Legs
P90X Legs
Plyo X
Its a total of 22 moves which is just shy of Plyo X as produced. Should be a lot of fun and move really quickly. will let you know how it goes and what I decide after this workout about inserting a recovery week starting tomorrow.

DEBRA: I LOVED doing X Legs boom boom boom. I did that my last week as well just to keep my boredom level from getting the best of me. It really does completely change the feel doesnt it? Great job and pushing play! Those wrists dont sound like they would enjoy pushups yet do they? Maybe try a few using DB to keep it positioned correctly... I think if theres ANY pain at all you'd better not. Wrist stuff is very painful!

TRACY X: Thanks for your indepth thoughts on Maint. Plan. For me I guess if I had given it all as much thought as I should have I would have chosen a few maintenance type weeks just to avoid going thru exactly what I am now! I think my body would have responded better to maintaining better than me continuing to for muscle growth. I always did so much better with X after recovery weeks so I should have learned that my body really responds to spurts of lighter training thrown in with power training. You are a sweetie to offer your chest & back work... I have no doubt at all thats its incredible because you know your stuff so much better than I - Believe me I wish I could snap a finger and be able to do a workout from paper but it just doesnt happen for me so for now it can be kept secret til you write your book!:+

MONICA: Have to LOL & Confess.... I may have inspired you to do Pilates but I never got mine done yesterday! Once I went into my funk I was DONE for the day! BUT SO HAPPY I CAN HELP YOU!!! :+
Debra actually suggested we try Pilates as a possible solution to subs for ARX. Thats an area that I have felt virtually no afterburn at all despite trying all variations and durations of Cathe. I just gotta find a great sub or I'll SCREAM at the thought of ARX again! LOL I used to have Ab Ripper 100 & Ab Ripper 200 (Tonys) but gave away last year.... Thumps head AGAIN! Your Leg Workout Rocked! As I've said to Tracy... I so envy those of you that are disciplined to do it without a video. (It would be a lot less expensive too!)

Caught everyone else yesterday afternoon so I'll clsoe with "Have great workouts & great day in general!"

Morning X'ers,

I have decided to not worry about the week that I didn't get my workouts in and continue on with week 12. Last nights shoulder work did not produce any pain for me this morning. Just some DOM type sorness. Probably because I've been taking it easy on the shoulder. :D

Today will be PlyoX, and I'm using those arms to cross the river. }(

Traci, That workout looks like you will be having jello legs for the rest of the day. :7 Are the Master series worth buying? The two you have listed are the ones I'm interested in the most. Just wondering about the others also. That's all I need is to spend more money. :+

Have a great day!

Laurie

CL/PH3/WK4/Day2: PlyoX

Good morning!

How is everyone today? Time to get to those personals I never got around to yesterday.

TraciX - All you're gushing is making me blush. I'd change my font to pink if I could. I ain't that great a writer! But did you know that I, honest-to-goodness-no-lie already have a book published? I'm a co-author on a book called "Unions in the Time of Revolution". My co-author is a Business professor from the university. We wrote that a few years ago, when I was pregnant and on "maternity leave" with my first DD. You have been through an emotional rollercoaster these past 24 hours, haven't you? ((((((((TraciX))))))))) You are trying so hard to find the "magic". I'm frankly very surprised that you're doing all you're doing, and still losing ground? How is that possible? Personally I don't expect to remain in fighting shape for long after finishing P90X, as I just don't want to keep working this hard on such a continuous basis. I am so looking forward to getting back to Cathe's weight workouts, just for the change and the fun factor. In a couple of weeks I may come running back to Tony, but for now, I'm looking forward to getting off this rigid schedule. Here's a thought: you radically changed your eating at the same time you finished P90X. Is it possible that this is more to blame for your physical changes than your workouts? Also, you just had 2 meals over the weekend that were probably full of stuff that will make you retain water. Can you blame them?

Laurie - I battled a plantar's wart about 11 years ago. Nasty thing. I hope the laser treatment works!

Jeanette - Wow, you had an awesome workout yesterday! I wish I had your energy for this week. And your porridge sounded delicious. Are you sad to see CST for the last time? And what about PlyoX? I'll bet you are going to miss this one! I'm actually excited about doing it today, because it's THE...LAST...TIME!!!! I'm so bored of this workout. Thank heavens it flies by. Goatheads and Slime. Very interesting. Will the goatheads puncture car tires, too?

Lea - Did you have a good workout yesterday? Tell DH that when he's home, you are supposed to have MORE time to play on the computer, not less! :) You deserve a break (the problem with "holidays" is that they always mean more work for Moms).

TracyX - I really enjoy reading about your outdoor adventures. I was in the mood to go for a jog yesterday, but we currently have a light coating of fresh snow over top of ice-covered sidewalks. It seemed too dangerous (and I don't want to pull a Debra :) ). Yes, the thesis is 99% perseverence, isn't it? I think I also do myself a disservice by not nagging the professors in the department for more information and assistance. I tend to retreat to myself for months on end and try to muddle through problems on my own because I can't be bothered to take the time to set up meetings with them. The university is not the place to go if you have small children, and since I don't have a babysitter, I avoid it. How do you go to the library when you have a 16 month old? Rhetorical question, obviously.

Monica - I LOL at how you are "quitting" the X, yet still doing half the workouts! Doesn't look like you're quitting at all; just modifying to suit your needs. Your leg workout yesterday looked pretty intense. Are you feeling it today? I sure look forward to doing B&G again.

Debra - well, wasn't that a creative workout you did yesterday? P90X Legs, and PUB back? Very nice! And I'm glad to read your wrist didn't feel all that bad. Yes, I imagine if anything is going to strain your wrist, it will be push ups. Good luck!

Well, I have to go get the kids ready for the day. I will be doing PlyoX today, and will tack on, ah, maybe MuscleMax lower body. Haven't decided yet. Have a great day!
Sandra

Good morning,

Classic/Phase 3/Week 4/Day 2

Today was PlyoX and it was a doozy as usual. It is the last time in the rotation but bittersweet as I know it's done me a whole lot of good. I can say that my legs have never looked as good (though believe me, there is much improvement needed). I know that genetically it will always be tough and I can deal with that, but it's so nice to be doing something for my legs that slims them a little or at least gives the impression of slimming. Oh yeah, did Ab Ripper X last night too and helped DH on the Bowflex working shoulders, triceps and abs.

I got a lot of painting done yesterday but never was able to get out to the desert with DH and the dogs. Wanted to stay on task and also DH was doing some burning and couldn't leave it. I'll do some wall painting today after work. Hope to finish the living room, then will tackle kitchen probably on the weekend.

Laurie, glad the shoulder work was without pain. Enjoy PlyoX today!

Traci, I'm anxious to hear what you think about all of your Plyo workouts today and how long they are. I think I will get serious about putting together a rotation during my Recovery Week. You know what a procrastinator I am, plus it will give me more time to hear everyone else's rotations. I have Tracy Staehle's ab workout coming soon too.

Must go today, last day at my current job, new location starting tomorrow.

Jeanette

Hi Sandra, just missed you in my last post!

I think that is a great suggestion about Traci's new eating regime that might have something to do with her losses. Oh, it's all such a balancing act sometimes. Right now I feel like I have it pegged pretty good, but worry that my body will figure it out and then I have to try to outsmart it again. For me, working out to improve my cycling is really important. We may not always have the correct formula for seeing aesthetic improvements to our bodies, but it's a lot easier to increase our performance by adding in interval training or whatever. Even when I wasn't getting leanness results while doing tons of cardio, I was in really good shape cardiovascularly, which translated into improved performance on my bike, and I was very pleased with that. Of course, I want it all and so far, with P90X, have been able to pretty much get that. My cycling is still staying strong on less cardio workouts at home, which I never thought would happen. What pleases me about that too is that now I can try some Pilates or do more Yoga, which I considered a luxury before, couldn't spare the time and needed to keep doing more cardio or weights instead. I always used to wonder where it would end to get the same results, longer and longer workouts, training for marathons, triathlons, etc. Really an hour a day just suits me fine, with maybe a short ab workout at night. Oh yeah, goatheads won't hurt car tires, just bike tires. Usually they are worse in the summer, but we've had such a dry winter that they are out more now. I bought some new tires recently and will install them as my Michelin Pro Race tires are getting pretty thin. I wasn't sad about CST for the last time, just like I really wasn't sad about PlyoX either. I figure I'll throw them in here and there in the future. Hope you nail PlyoX today.

Jeanette

Good morning everyone. Happy Tuesday. Ok, so I have to go back and read the past posts because I keep seeing goatheads pop up everywhere. LOL.

Today I did Master Series Plyo Legs, which I really liked and Sweat is it 5,6 or 4,5? hmmm....Well, I really liked that one too. I might have to add in some P90X weight work when I have a Master Series week. We will see. I know that Miss Traci X is crazy to also do P90X legs AND Plyo X on top of those two. My legs were wobbling after doing those workouts. It felt great.

I should probably go and take a shower now, but I promise that I will be back later and catch up. Everyone seems to be having a good time around here.

BBL, Lea

Morning again gang... Happy to report I am on cloud 9 & in love with my workout once again.... Feels like I had The Big O!}(
My Lower Mish Mosh has left my quads a-burning, my butt a-blasted, & my mood elevated beyond belief! It came in right at 50 minutes and I kept HR up with lite jogs while changing DVDs - Takes no time at all since Tony so kindly scrolls exercise name on screen! I have split all the DVDs up into what I call Legs 1, Legs 2, Legs 3. So every 3rd day I just go to the next one. 1 set each because the Master Series is just the X variations so I still get benefit of multiple sets but varied in form to hit legs & booty REAL GOOD!
So I guess yesterdays emotional funk was indeed more about missing doing something that I enjoy, plus that works, plus at a pace I can master depth. This workout was actually much more of what I call Interval as HR was way up for the duration of DVD then had a few minutes to drop. Even with the Imax's my HR doesnt get down low enough in step segments so I am in an hour + of anaerobic state. That could also be why my body doesnt respond.
ANYWAY!

LAURIE: Good choice to just continue on with week 12! You're on the right track & seem to be healed nicely so go for it! As far as purchasing MS.... Maybe we better get Jeanette & Leas input. I am obviously a P90 freak-a-zoid- (confirmed as of this morning) so I want to jump and say BUY IT! but I also know that most of you are anxious & ready to get back to Cathe 100%. Hope Plyo X River didnt gobble you up!

JEANETTE: I am sooooo sad for you and your last Plyo being done! LOLOLOL.... just remember you can always get creative and add it back in with Master Series for variety. Gotta do what works for you! Enjoy your last day in department and hope not too many tearful goodbyes. Dad still making progress?

SANDRA: I knew it!!!!!!!!!!! You are an author!!!! You have many deep dark hidden accomplishments my dear! I had to lol because my first thought was "She Writes Smut Novels for Harlequin under a shadow name!!!!"..... I was too contemplating the eating issue thing... If it is that I sure cant figure it out because with this Drs Plan I am eating tons & tons of Protein & Veggies (thats about al I can eat!) That should make me leaner I'd think... Yes I'm sure 2 back to back dinners are also adding to bloat but scale is still down and usually I see it there as well.... WHO KNOWS SANDRA! LOLOLOL. I do so appreciate your input tho as it always gives me so much to ponder and look at a bit less emotionally. Hope you savor every delicious jump, squat, switch move today! Thanks again for feedback

LEA: Yep - you've missed the hot topic of the week on goatheads! What a visual eh?.... I agree- this group is FUN! we are all over the board with our little discussions but somehow we all seem to keep getting the job at hand completed! Have a great shower & YES I LOVE my mish mosh.... I'm going to email it to you. TOO FUN

Good morning you lovely ladies!! I have the beginnings of a nasty cold this morning...due to teaching DD's class last week I'm sure...those little ones carry a lot of germs! I barely have the energy to get off the sofa this morning...but I am going to try to do Kenpo this afternonn...it's not too long and I enjoy it..so I'll see how I'm feeling after lunch..I have some very nice DOMS from my leg blast yesterday...I think I will always do this in the future and skip over the back part and tack on back at the end...I can also see myself using this one post X....even though Dreya's moaning gets on my nerves!

Traci...Glad you had a great workout today...and glad to see your mood is elevated because of it!! It's so hard to not focus on every little thing that we see wrong with our bodies and be a bit hyper critical...I was reading Women's Health mag yesterday...and one section was about your body type...ie...meso-apple, ecto-pear etc...and I had a REALLY hard time deciding on my body type in those parameters...and I know I was being overly critical of my physique...Glad you are feeling great today...and great job with keeping up with your incredibly strict diet!! You are a better woman than me!

Jeanette...I'm with you on the adding in of yoga and pilates..I, too, always felt like I was wasting a workout when doing that...but I now know how much better my body feels when I keep that in my weekely rotation. Sorry you weren't able to go have fun yesterday...Good you got some of your painting project tackled, though! I have Plyo X at the end of this week and I will be jumping for joy that I don't have to do that one again!

Lea...Glad you had a good workout today...

Sandra...Have fun with your last plyoX...and tell Cathe hello for us during MM!!

Laurie..Glad your shoulder is feeling okay after your workout yesterday...Hope your foot is feeling better too!

Hi to Monica, Steph, Tracy....Hope you are all having good days! Have to run and take the doggie to the groomer...she is a very stinky girl! I'll get some lunch while I'm out and hopefully will feel well enough to tackle Kenpo this afternoon...

Debra

Ok, FINALLY I have time to do personals.

Traci X - Thanks for emailing me your mish mosh. I am so happy that it worked out for you today. I am also noticing my buttocks going south again too. Have to add in those plyo workouts again and if that doesn't work, the Kenpo maybe? Ah hell, maybe I should just do P90X for the rest of my life. Ha!!! I definately notice that when I cheat in my eating that the flab has no problem coming right back. Darn that flab!!! Oh, and I kind of liked UML, I just didn't think it was that challenging since it was so short.

Laurie - Have a great time with plyo today.

Jeanette - You are so inspiring me and making me itch to get the house painted. Thank you. After I was finished with the kitchen, my DH asked me if I was ready to talk to them (him and my kids)again. I guess I just get so engrossed in my projects. Yay for completing the last of the plyo. It is a bittersweet feeling isn't it? How do you like Tracy Stael's (sp?) ab workout? I have been on the fence about purchasing that one. OK, I just read about the goatheads. Fun. The things you see on your bike rides huh?

Sandra - Guess I should go back and read the X manual again? That is some good info on maintenence. Thanks. DH was cleaning around here like crazy yesterday. And when DH cleans it usually means more work for me. He tries his best, but there are papers all over the coffee table, boxes and bags everywhere now. How did guys live without us gals for so long???

Debra - Sorry that you are not feeling well today. I hope that you are able to make it around to Kenpo. But take care of yourself first. I am also sending out positive vibes to get that house sold soon, like yesterday, so that you can move. What a pain!!

Tracy X - How awesome that your DH is making comments on your body. That is great!! What motivation you have taking walks in the snow. I bet that is tiring.

Monica - Good for you for making your own decision. I am glad that you are going to stick around. If you didn't we would miss you!!
;(

I think that is it for right now. Talk to everyone later..

Lea

Happy Afternoon X'ers!

Well made just one more small purchase... Billy Blanks Ab Bootcamp... got it for 7.50 (total w/ shipping) thru Amazon. 30 minutes mainly standing- Will see if between that & Pilates I can get some ab action going. Its more of a cardio/Abs so thats always good! Now I'm set on new DVDs... Due to arrive in next 10 days:
*Ab Bootcamp
*New York Body Plan Circuit (has Upper Circuit & Lower Circuit Mixes)
*Billy Blanks Kick Cardio Circuit 1 & 2. Will wait to hear Jeanettes review on tracey Staehle's Abs and thats it for me! Credit Card is in file cabinet where it belongs!

DEBRA: So sorry about the cold! have you ever tried Airbourne? You'd take it a day or two before going into school to boost immune system. I used to travel extensively with work and always got sick after flying with all the germs in the Sky Tube but once I started taking Airbourne I never got sick again. May be worth it so you & DD dont keep passing germs. Hope you get Kenpo in today!

LEA: LOL on doing X for rest of life... I swear thats how I felt yesterday too!

Hope all is well with rest of gang!

HAPPY DANCE! HAPPY DANCE! HAPPY DANCE!

PlyoX is DONE!!! The Mother! Over! Finished! GOOOOOOOONE!!! Woohoo!!

And I did Muscle Max lower body and stretch. Ahhhh.

I love that I get to knock off 4 workouts this week. And as much as I enjoy YogaX, I have to admit I really don't want to do it 3 more times before finishing this rotation! And KenpoX 2 more times! I'm getting impatient to be done, and Recovery Week is looking like a pain in the a$$. I'm considering finishing this week, then making up my own recovery week next week. Use it as a transition back to other workouts. Keep it on the lighter side, but just not P90X workouts. Or perhaps not. I guess I'll decide when I get there. But I did not enjoy the first two recovery weeks. By the Friday of each of them I was feeling anxious and ucky. I so needed an intensity hit by that point. And next week will coincide with my pms power mode, so I'm sure if I don't do something to use up the extra energy, I might lose my mind. A CTX week might do me some good. Or a BodyBlast Timesaver week, with a day of Yoga Shakti in there somewhere.

Jeanette - Yeah, I want it all, now, and at the same time, too. I want to be lean AND muscular AND able to leap tall buildings in a single bound AND run faster than a speeding train AND look like I should be on the cover the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues. Why can't we? Huh? Why not?

TraciX - Oh, I'm so glad you're feeling better today! Too funny about the Harlequin novels! I read those voraciously as a teenager, and pretty much have the formula down pat. I could probably knock one out in a weekend, although it would be a satire. I couldn't possibly write one of those with a straight face. BTW, there is already a "Sandra Brown" who used to write for Harlequin under a pseudonym (can't remember what it is now). She was my favourite HR writer; I would read her books 2 or 3 times. She writes full novels now, under the SBrown name. Sandra Brown would be my name, if I'd taken my husband's name when we married. Which I didn't. 'Cause I'm a modern woman :) So there you go - every time I see her books on the store shelves I think "There's my parallel-universe life." Yes, I would imagine your diet wouldn't be the problem for you, but gosh it's really hard to believe that you are in such decline, doing the workouts you've been doing. I hope you find what works for you.

Debra - I'm sending anti-germ vibes your way. You just can't catch a break!!

Lea - So Plyo Legs is a keeper, then? I have it, and who knows, maybe one day I'll feel like doing it! I guess I'm one of the few who actually prefers Cathe-type lower body work. My lower body has not gone through all the changes everyone else seems to have experienced. DH made a comment last week about my butt being higher, and my leg muscles more defined, but I think he just wanted some nookie. Opinions from Mothers and Husbands don't count, in my book :) I sure do sympathize with you and DH's "cleaning". It's hard not to want to strangle them for "helping."

Did we hear from Stephanie over the weekend? And DB and X appear to have gone MIA. I hope all is well with everyone.

PlyoX felt very challenging to me today, but I've concluded it's because I'm doing the Doubles level of cardio for Phase 3. It just makes sense that I'm pushing myself harder, even though the cardio doesn't feel hard when I do it, and I'm not as rested as I would be doing just the Classic rotation. So be it. 4 days more and I'm done with the whole thing!

Cheers,
Sandra

Oh, one thing I forgot to ask:

Is anyone here considering getting the new Hip Hop Abs series that Beach Body put out? I'm sure you've all received many advertisements in your emails. I'm very skeptical that it would do P90X grads/advanced Catheites any good, but was wondering what the rest of you thought?

Sandra

Sandra - I have been wondering the same thing. Even though I am not much of a dancer, which is probably the reason that I was into heavy metal as a teenager instead of the 80's dance music. Not much dancing there, just banging your head a few times. LOL. Anywho, you think that Miss Traci X will be the first to order this one?????

Lea

Now Now there Miss Lea X! I am no hip hop girlie girl... I am a weight lifting X Machine!:p

Sandra - I think you've been doing more like the Triples version of X... A Cathe warm up to you is a full workout to me! 4 days??? You mean you arent inserting the optional Hell Week 5 and then doing recovery? C'mon girls.. Lets work it a little more OK?;-)

Hi all,

No time this evening as I'm going to a lecture on adolescent ADHD. I think Lora on the hardcore thread has the hip hop abs. Funny, I was looking at them yesterday. I hate to spend 60 on something that might not be good. Sounds like fun though. I think I'm going to get the Tracy S. core and maybe one of her new ones. Did anyone look at the clips? She does this really hard walking plank on the ball? I'm off, I'll catch up on personals later. Sounds like everyone is still in full swing, except Debra. Sorry about the cold. That is the one drawback to working with small kids.

Tracy

PS. Traci - Glad you are feeling better today!

Was it Sandra that mentioned something about the shirts? Or was I dreaming? And if so, did anyone respond. (yes, I am way too lazy to go back and check).
