Morning Gang! Sorry I never made it back for personals yesterday but promise to catch up in a minute here...

Back is toasty this morning from yesterdays back work.

Today is bicep day + Lower Strength Day + Abs.
Working Legs 3x a week now but differently .... Sun = Conditioning Drills 50 min like Slim Series, Tues = Strength45 minutes like GS,PS etc... and Fri= Lower Cardio 45 min like leg blasts from Imax's.
I think that will give me enough variety to keep legs trending in same direction and slim those thighs for summer!

Abs today: SuperSets, PUB, CTX
Biceps: CTX, PUB, Supersets
Lower; Supersets Lower Blast, PS select moves not done in SS

I'll be alternating Ab, Bicep, Lower

Back with chat from yesterday!:7

Forgot to tell ya- Academy didnt have 17# dumbells nor did they know what Platemates are & They did not have the BB plates I needed......A day where no one wanted to take my money! HORRIFIC!!!!
...... Question on Platemates: Will the magnets work on my DB if the are the ones with black rubber on the end?

********** Personal Chatty Business!************

TRACY X: :D GREAT JOB on yesterdays Back & Chest Increases! Its so awesome when strength & energy retun after a tough week! I agree on Soy... Thats what I drank before starting Whry a year ago and remainder needs to go in trash!:) I was pleased with the step combos yesterday... I do premixes so much that I am a bit stale on them so this was actually really great! Cathe did a good job of making combos very different Imax 1-3 so its more fun that way for me. I think on my Lower Cardio day Friday I will do the blasts only from 1,2,&3 (Imax's). That should be FUN! What did you end up doing for ab work yesterday? Still mish moshing it?

JEANETTE: :7 May I call you the ever ready bunny???? I cannot believe how much you constantly are in go-go-go mode! Have you always been driven like that? Your sage green sounds like the exact color I want in my bedroom! Its been 6 years in planning stage now!:+ I'm doing shorter (35-45min) & less intense cardios 4-5 days - Also am mixing up the cardio with Step / Non Step / CC 3 Running and SOOOOON BIKING! just to lean out a bit more. Still hanging on to some body fat I'd like to say SO LONG to! Happy final 3 weeks! Savor every moment!

:D MONICA: WHOA you did alot of working out yesterday!!! No wonder you were so tired when you checked out for the night! Not every week is a "gains" week especially with doubles! Some weeks we ladies just dont have the hormonal energy going in our direction! What a fabulous journal you have created! I agree w/ Sandra just include measurements and its ready to be sold on ebay! I swear their is nothing out there to buy that has everything in it! Great job and good for you in making yourself accountable in writing! I keep logs & such as well and I swear some days the only reason I work out or eat right is because I know I have to face the music in writing! I will be adding in my Door Gym version of pull ups but because its not a traditional bar I dont think its as critical to continued strength. Keeping nothing but pleasant , positive thoughts on your test results. Any day now.

DEBRA: :7 Last 3 weeks is so much easier in some ways... More variety, seeing the light at end of tunnel.... Congratulations for giving it your all in home stretch! Too funny about crayon eating dogs! My girl dog loves pencil erasers???? Have a fabulous workout today!!!

:D Sandra: WooHoo on checking off for good C&B!!!!!! Can you believe you have 14 days left? Or is it 13 now???:7 I am so happy for you! Imagine to - next week you'll also be more in "fighting" mode since AF will be ba-bye! Oh what a great week THAT will be! lolol Your Sunday chores sounded like no easy task! Hope DH is home safe & sound now and ready to pick up the slack!! lolol LOVE your all step C&W! That is just a "feel good" step routine for me. Maybe because that and SJP / SB were my "firsts". My DH was VERY cold all weekend and got to fish just once... He still needs to get away to relax tho so it was good for him. Enjoy your countdown today! Maybe you should get yourself a little gift for every day completed in these final days??

:7 LAURIE: OUCH on shoulder- I tell ya EVERY time I do yoga I come out with a pain here & there! I am so sorry and hope its just a minor pull. You are so close to completion now..... Have a great workout today whatever route you have to take.

:7 LEA X: WOW girl! You are really bring it good with your strength this week! Do you think having that little break last week was good for your muscle recovery? So sorry your lungs are still not well... PLEASE be careful as that lung stuff turns ugly real quick! Are the boys staying healthy?

OK: Lets take roll call....
:D Steph????? Hope you are OK!

:D X: Hope your computer gets back soon

:D DB-X & DEB-X: I think we lost you from the check in ....but good luck in your new rotations if you are reading and congrats on completing!!

Thats it for me this crazy morning! Hugs & ^^^5's to all!!!

CLASSIC / DOUBLES HYBRID -- PHASE 3 -- WEEK 10 -- DAY 2

Good morning,
I'm feeding the doggies and preparing myself to do Plyo X this morning. I subbed it last week, so after some a break from Plyo X I am ready to get back to it. Tonight I hope to do Cardio X and possibly a yoga class up at my gym because there is band practice at my house tonight and I will want to get the heck out!

I'll check in later.

Monica

Morning X'ers,

Classic/Ph3/Week11/Day1

I'm not going to worry about lifting anything for a while, so I'm changing things up a bit. Going to do PlyoX without any arm movements. }( We will see how the rock stars turn out. They will end up just being tuck jumps anyway.

My DD's where really great last night and shoveled our driveway out. I was happy that the wind was non-existant. My oldest came in and said, "Mom feel my back, I was sweating." Must have been a good workout for her! Of course all the swimming she does probably helped.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi all,

Today is a plyo day plus legs/weights, for me and abs. I’ll probably work on one of my new step dvds to warm-up and cool down.

TraciX – Yesterday I ended up doing MM abs. I like those and I really tried to engage my core. I didn’t do any other abs because I plan to add in abs today too. I’m doing abs two days in a row as a shock. I still think that the beauty of arx is that it is hard to cheat and the problem with Cathe’s abs is that it is easy to cheat!

Monica – Plyo x and cardio x and yoga? You are on a roll! I’m trying to do more yoga, even if it is a shorter session. It is really helping to get my back and glutes stretched out. My heart goes out to you for having to wait so long for all of these tests to be completed.

Jeanette - I was pleasantly surprised that I could do flys with 30lbs, which was a huge increase for me and then 65 lbs for bench ; 4 sets 2 on the flat and 2 on an incline. Good luck with the furniture. We finally bought a new sofa last year after using the same “This end up” stuff for 15 years. It took forever to find something that I liked that was in my price range and even then I ended up spending more than I wanted to. I understand what your husband means about the quality though. The stuff now is just flimsy unless you can really afford to spend a lot of money, which we couldn’t.

Sandra & Jeanette – The puffiness is the weirdest thing. I too wake up and my stomach is pretty flat, then as the day wears on it’s like ahhh……I guess the food and liquids that we consume has to go somewhere. I look at the skinny girlfriends my son brings home and I know they are so skinny because they don’t eat. Then there’s the sodium and the hormones. I ate canned tuna last night and even though I rinsed it, I still feel puffy today.

Debra – Three weeks left. How exciting. Those weeks really are kind of fun. I didn’t feel nearly as worn out as I did in phase 2. I usually watch the dog show, but got stuck on a documentary about MS 13. I love dogs and have 3, but it’s been years since my kids were young, we had crayons, and there was rainbow poop in the yard!

Laurie - Are you taking any Advil or Aleve. That may help take the inflammation down?

Tracy

LEAN/Phase 3/Week 9/Day 6

I've skipped a couple of workuts because of this nasty cold I'm nursing. Hopefully, I'll feel well enough to do Core Syn. today and get back on schedule. We finally have a snow day today, and there's no school, so I got to sleep in today and I'm feeling a lot better today! I'm sure I'll be even better after my first cup of coffee.

BBL to see what everyone's up to!

Steph

Good morning. I was so sick and tired yesterday that I actually fell asleep around 7:30. Could it be that from all of this clean eating, when I eat some pizza and drink some wine with my DH(which I did Sunday night) I wake up feeling lousy the next day? I felt like I stayed out all night. Never again. I value my sleep now and my health.

Anywho, did Step Blast this morning(I just have the FitTv version) and I took it easy. Took breaks when I was out of breath, etc. I really feel my abs this am. Ouchy. But in a good way.

Seems like everyone is doing well. I swear that I will get to personals today. Yesterday was just really rough for me. Until later.

Lea

Tracy, Yup I'm taking Ibuprofen and it is feeling 90% better than it did on Sunday. I'm just going to make sure that I'm 100%. If I feel a twinge lifting my purse, I figure that I'm not quite there yet. Of course my purse has some weight to it. }(

Laurie

Good morning fellow Xers:

Classic/Phase 3/Week 3/Day 2

It was PlyoX for me today, figured I'd better do it as I did Imax1 last week. PlyoX is definitely harder for me than Imax1 or at least it felt like it today. Think my legs were still a little tired from my bike ride yesterday.

Traci, I like your plan for the week. Glad your back is toasty. My lower back got tired yesterday while climbing the hill on my bike. I wish I knew of some workouts to strengthen that. Mostly, I just strengthen it by riding hills, but it would be nice to target those particular muscles off the bike. Maybe I'll ask some of my racer friends tomorrow night. Don't think I can help with the Platemate question, maybe someone else will. I don't always go, go, go. I was tired last night, but couldn't sleep at all. The night before work starts is always like that for some reason. Tonite will be better. It's taken me a long time to get the enthusiasm up to paint. I usually only do one or two projects a year to the house because I really like the fun stuff more and definitely devote time to getting lots of that in. Think my folks would prefer I work around the house more instead of bike riding and such, but hey, I don't have to please them anyway. I'm fortunate that DH and I share the love for outdoor activities and fun. Not all things but enough that we spend a lot of time together doing them.

Monica, hope PlyoX is a heart thumper for you and that you feel very athletic doing it. I subbed it last week too. Enjoy that yoga class at the gym tonite.

Laurie, take it easy with the shoulder today. I have a heavy purse too.

Tracy, plyo plus legs? You go girl! Maybe I'll have to take my 90 day pictures at 4:30 a.m. when my stomach is flat!!

Got to get ready for work.

Jeanette

Good morning. Time for personals while I eat my breakfast.

Traci - Looks like you are really mixing it up good. Good for you. Sorry that your store didn't have what you wanted. That is always a bummer. I hate that. And yes, the boys are staying healthy thank goodness. Thanks for asking.

Monica - Wow, plyo X, Cardio X and yoga all in one day? You are really motivated aren't you? I can't believe that you put up with band practice at your house all the time. I remember hanging out at friends houses while they had band practice way back when, and it drove the parents crazy. LOL

Tracy - You are a monster. Flys with 30lbs? You go. Doesn't it drive you crazy that your sons girlfriends are that skinny? Don't you just want to wake them up and tell them that they need to eat? Kids today have too much pressure. It's sad.

Steph - Sorry that you have been sick. I am glad that you are feeling better though, and that you were able to sleep in. Yippee. Good luck on Core Syn today.

Laurie - Sorry that your shoulder is not feeling so great. You are smart to lay off of it.

Jeanette - At least plyo X is done today. Good job. You are on the go all of the time. That is awesome, wish I had that much energy. Do you have much painting left? Where did you order Tosca's book from? Amazon and other book stores don't have the release date until the 20th. I ordered it from a a magazine site along with Oxygen's Nutrition magazine which I absolutely love. They have so many yummy recipes in there. I hope that you receive it soon.

Sandra - LOL on the PMS in reverse. I hope that you are feeling better today. You are getting closer to the end. Yay. I know you are ready by now aren't you? Your dinner from the other night sound delicious!! Glad that you had all that energy to clean. I'm still looking for mine.

Debra - WooHoo, 3 weeks from being done. Time is flying. Funny you watched the Westminster Dog Show yesterday. The DS's and I watched the Ugliest Dog Contest on The Animal Planet. They were so cute. BTW, I am soooo jealous that I don't get to shovel snow ever here!! LOL. I bet that your jealous it is suppose to up in the high 70's by the end of the week, aren't you??? And LOL on the dog and the crayon.

If I missed anyone, I am sorry. Have a great day everyone!!

Lea

Hello, hello, hello!!

Today is supposed to be a rest day....but I will probably do Chest and Back this afternoon...I have a facial tomorrow morning and my DD has a playdate tomorrow afternoon, so I'm thinking I won't get a chance to workout tomorrow. I'll take my rest day then...I think I am also catching DD's cold...so probably should workout today in case I am feeling puny tomorrow.....

Sounds like everyone has had busy mornings so far...It is snowing like crazy here this morning...and gale force winds...so all the snow is drifting...would do no good to shovel until this is all over with...Please, let me sell my house soon so that I can move back down South where you don't have to deal with this mess!!!!

Lea...I'm glad you enjoyed Step Blast...Sorry you felt so crummy yesterday...I am sure you'll feel better after a salad or 2! I haven't seen the ugly dog contest...I do have the bad dog calendar, which cracks me up!

Jeanette..Glad you got PlyoX over with this morning...Hopefully your biking buddies can give you some tips on strenghtening that lower back. I think it's pretty much ignored in the X. I added on some deadlifts the other day to help target this area a bit.

Steph...Hope you're feeling better...We have lots of snow here. My DD's school doesn't usually close for snow, so I went ahead and took her in even though the pulic schools were closed today. She really needed to get out of the house and spend some time with her friends!

Tracy..It's a shocker that you are going to do legs today!! The dog show is on tonight too...so my DD and I will watch again...My favorite classes are on tonight...Last night was the toy and terriers, which aren't my favorite...I like big stinky dogs better...Let us know how you like your new step DVDs...I will be adding to my collection after the X.

Laurie...Keep nursing that shoulder until it's not twingy anymore...Good luck with plyo today!

Monica...Still keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you...Hopefully you'll get results today...Hope plyo went well for you..Have fun at your yoga class tonight. I am thinking about taking one too!

Traci...Can't beleive no one would take your money. Darn them! It sounds like you are going to be toasty all over tomorrow after the workout you have planned today! My dog eats the entire pencil...not just the eraser! As you can tell...she pretty much eats anything!

I am sure I will be back later this afternoon...Happy day to all...and to those of you with snow, stay warm!

Debra

Hi there!

I got my test results and the liver growth is just a hemangioma - benign and nothing to worry about! Yay! Very very relieved. I think my husband was more relieved than I was.

Did Plyo X this morning - boy it was hard! I feel really good though. I needed to do that. I can see why I dread it - very difficult for me. I think I need some new tennis shoes.

Well, I may not be able to get to the gym to do Yoga tonight, it will probably be cancelled. We are getting dumped on with snow today. Oh well, no big deal. I might not even do Cardio X -- just depends upon how long it takes me to get home in this snow. Plus, if band practice gets cancelled, I'll just snuggle up in front of the t.v. It is so nice to have Plyo done in the a.m. today though, so whatever happens tonight doesn't really matter!

** TRACI **
I bet your back is pretty toasty from yesterday! You kicked butt! I like your idea on working legs three different ways. Are you also doing any yoga? That can count as legs depending on the yoga. Sorry that Academy didn't have what you needed. That is frustrating.

** LAURIE **
Smart to give the upper body a break when you feel pain. I think you can manage Plyo without using upper body. Those darn rock stars are hard - especially when he goes fast!

** TRACY **
I am on a roll right now -- and when I feel like I'm on a roll I just have to go with it! Last week I was not on a roll, I was in a slump. Doesn't seem to be much in between does there? Either feeling great, or feeling lousy. Are you doing Plyo X or one of Cathe's IMAXs today? Are you doing a lower body weights DVD or just your own routine? I don't know if I could do any leg weighted work after Plyo, my legs are like jelly.

** LEA **
I think you could definitely be having a pizza hangover! That can really weigh you down. Sometimes it is even just mental for me after eating something crappy. I also have the Fit TV version of Step Blast. I am dying to have the full version for the Blast at the end, but just don't want to fork up the money for a step DVD.

** JEANETTE **
I agree with you 100% -- Plyo is harder for me than the IMAXs also. I feel like with the IMAXs I get more of a break during the step portion. Plyo X just keeps going and going. Those water breaks feel pretty darn short at only 30 seconds!

** LEA **
I also don't know how I put up with band practice. My husband really loves it and I just don't want to be the hag of a wife that crushes the dream - know what I mean? They don't have anywhere else to practice right now. It's not even the noise that I mind, it's just having the guys in the house. Sometimes I feel like they spend more time upstairs hanging out than they do in the basement playing. I go in my bedroom or workout room and close the door but they will still talk to me through the door! Boys!

** DEBRA **
I think that it is probably a good idea to switch around your rest day so you don't have to stress about getting your workout in tomorrow. Just relax and enjoy your facial, and hopefully you are not getting sick!

** SANDRA **
How are you doing today? Hope to hear from you soon.

Take care!
Monica

Quick Status Check In-

50 minute Lower Strength- check
26 minute Abs - check
30 minute Biceps - check

Hungry and need some more water so will be back in a bit... I'm going to rebel and have my Low Carb / low Fat Tortilla with my salad & tuna fish!!

MONICA::::: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO on the test results! I am so very very happy for you!!

Back with other personals later.:7

Traci - Wow. You are working out a lot!!! How are you feeling? I don't think that a low carb/fat tortilla is really rebelling. I just had half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on ezekiel bread. I guess that is rebelling too huh?:p

Monica - Yay!! I am so glad that you don't have to worry anymore.

Lea

Back with some personals....Baking another batch of Tosca Baked Chicken & it smells SOOOO good!
ANYWAY!

LOL on the rebelling comment- I'm on that darn 30 day program from Doc & its tortillas are not on my approved list... Made me feel "bad" but boy did it taste yummy}(

Monica: Once again WHEW!!!!!! Glad you got PlyoX done.. I always found it to bea killer too! Stay safe with snow....Hope you dont get stuck with the band tonight! I do have Yoga on my Saturday schedule but gotta say the stuff I do is no leg workout! LOL

LEA: I have had a lot of energy the past 10 days or so... I never know when I'll hit that dreaded hormonal block so I try & take advantage of it- plus weather is cold again so I could care less if I ever leave house!:7 Your sandwich sounds MUCH more yummy than mine! Now all I can think of is PB&J!! I was LOL at your asleep at 730! Welcome to my world!! Feels sinfully good huh? LOL ... Really tho- I think you are dead on that it was all the good food - I mean unclean food you ate! Even too much red meat plays havoc with my gut now... Dam* that Tosca!

DEBRA: Sure hope you are getting the cold! Tomorrow sounds like a really fun & eventful day... ENJOY! Yes I am good and toasty ALL OVER today... If something doesnt stop being sore I will have to delay weights for tmorrow... EVERY muscle screams regardless of part I'm actually working! }(

JEANETTE: ^^5 on the Plyo execution! The only things I know of for lower back strength is tons of supermans on floor & ball and deadlifts with perfect form. It sure is a tough area to work tho!

LAURIE: Hope you are feeling much better today! cant be fun feeling sore with the slightest of movements.

Steph: So glad to see you! Very sorry about the nasty cold... Take it easy with Core Syn.

TRACY: My oh my your leg day sounds very challenging. Mine are having a freak attack after todays... Guess its been too long without weight work...OUCH Very cool way to try & shock your ab work... I never would have thought of doing it that way... You are indeed creative! Love MM Abs too and I totally agree that Cathe Abs are easy to chaet on- not sure why.

BBL to see who else shows up to the party!:7

Hi Dedicated X'ers,

Steph – I’m a SPED resource teacher and people have been so sick this year. I have been trying so hard to wash my hands and I’m fortunate enough to be able to plan my days away from classes with really sick kids. I get so mad at parents for sending in sick kids. Especially low functioning ones that can’t possibly manage their germs.

Lea – It may be a combination of the food and the repercussions from the bronchitis. I know the last time my son had it, he was weak for quite some time afterwards. It stinks doesn’t it? I hope you get your strength back soon.

Laurie – The Ibuprofen has helped my back, but I try to only take it at night, otherwise I’m afraid I’ll feel too good and do something stupid. I have to carry around my computer at work and finally went to a back pack because my shoulder was hurting from the strap on the bag. You may look rather funny with a backpack purse, although they do make them. My shoulder doesn’t hurt anymore though.

Jeanette – I think plyox is harder than the IMAXs too. Have you tried doing it and skipping the recoveries? I also doubled the blasts a few times, that’s a killer. Overall, I still don’t think that the IMAX moves are as comprehensive for the legs as the plyo x ones. If I take some pictures, it will definitely be in the early morning and at a specific time of the month; might as well make the best of it while it’s there.

Debra – I like the bigger dogs too; especially the working dogs. I must say though, a friend got a West Highland terrier puppy and it is sooo cute. My son’s girl friend has a Chihuahua and it is soo cute too. It actually acts like a dog even though it is 3 lbs! We have two Australian Sheppards and a Doberman. Love the Aussies, but hate the hair.

Monica – I always try to pat myself extra hard on the back when I finished something that is hard for me. I’m an all or none person too with the energy. I do like you and just take advantage of it when I can. Last week I struggled to get my workouts in, but I did. I just hate it when I have to fight with myself. I made up my own plyo/ leg weight intervals and made sure that I have as many lateral moves as I do front to back moves. The lateral moves have really helped my legs.

Traci – You are really on a roll too! Are you enjoying the variety? How do you feel cardio wise? Looks like you have been sleeping in? Doing all of the blasts from the IMAXs? That should be quite the workout. Why don’t you go ahead and add in Sandra’s favorite KM blast challenge? Maybe that could be for next week. Still amazes me that she adds that on the kenpo x. KM blast challenge has such a dread factor for me.

Well, off to get ready to workout. We got out 2 hours early because we are supposed to get some serious ice tonight. It’s sleeting now.

Tracy

Tracy - I think you are right. This bronchitis is taking FOREVER to go away.

Traci - Which chicken are you making? I am trying to look at all the recipes for a clean chicken dish (LOL) to eat for tomorrow.

Lea

Lea: Its called Tosca Baked Chicken ... baked in Parchment Paper with Arugula... Its really good... This batch (I make 12 at a time and freeze- after cooked) I added lemon wedges on top too. I love lemon chicken. If you cant find it in the book let me know & I'll post recipe

Tracy: BITE YOUR TONGUE! No Add-on KM Blasts for me...Sandras just a glutton for pain! Be safe traveling on the ice! I'm actually not actually sleeping in but I am trying to stay in bed a bit longer to see if I can re-train my brain to stay asleep! Its been futile so far but since its cold I dont mind staying with my electric blanket a bit longer!

Traci - Ooooh....I was wondering about that one. Maybe I have to make a trip to Whole Foods tomorrow to pick up some chicken. Oh, and sorry about the rebelling comment. My memory is totally not there anymore, so I forgot about what the doc told you not to eat. My bad.
I just had the breadless french toast for breakfast (from Oxygen Nutrition Magazine) and it was really really yummy.
