:::::::::::::::::::: Happy Good Morning Xers! :::::::::::::::::::

Phase 2/ Week 2/ Yoga /Rd 2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning Gals! Spent 2 hours at hairdresser yesterday… Wont really know how much I like the new guy until I wash & style it on my own… No earth shattering changes…. Its still long, its still various shades of blonde and its still in layers…. LOL- His cut had better be AWESOME for the cost tho.... The bill was double my regular gal!*gasp*
A new TGIFridays opened in our part of town so DH surprised me by taking me out for dinner… I did SO good! I chose off their 500cal menu and had a wonderful Key West Lime Shrimp Dinner. It was so nice eating out and not coming home with regrets!
I played around with the X remaining 7 weeks to see what it looked like making it cohesive with that article Debra X shared about training and the menstrual cycle. I may just give it a whirl – need to decide this week . It would extend my X program by 1 week. I guess I’m considering it research for not just my body but also how to work with the women who may be deeply effected as I am by the cycle. So much emphasis seems to be on reducing injury and enhancing results using this type of training calendar. I will try and talk with my doctor about it to get her insight.
I shall return with personals a bit later....
All this talk yesterday about "naps" and DH.... I LOVE naps but NOT with DH... Some woman in his past must have trained him that nap time is really code for nookie! Now I have to say... I need to SLEEP - you can join me if you SLEEP! lololol
Hi all,
Ahhhh..... Traci, up again at the crack of dawn? Your shrimp sound good. I eat shrimp on my salad once or twice a week. They have lots of protien and little calories, although I do think higher in cholesterol. I haven't read the article yet, but I am always fighting with myself before ttom to get the regular workout in and sometimes it's less intense.
Nicole - I'm glad you are being smart about the back. Sometimes I still have that spider feeling in my leg. It is definitely from pressure on the nerve.
Our refrigerator, which is only 3 years old, broke yesterday and that was a huge mess. Luckily we have an old frig and freezer in the basement, but still. So I didn't feel like cooking last night and ate frosted flakes for dinner. I haven't done that in a while.
Yesterday I did ME - abs, added on the BC legs only, and then yoga. It was a nice workout and I went light trying to give my upper body a chance to recover. I've been having to sleep on my right side or back and that was starting to bother my right shoulder.
Not sure what I'm doing today, yoga for sure and probably 30 minutes on the bike. I will be really late today, but this is the last day that I have to stay late for a while. These people spend all of their waking hours at work. I will NOT be doing that!
I'll catch up on personals once I get to work.
Phase 2/ Day 39 / Yoga Recovery /Rd 2
OK gang- Here’s my decision on coordinating my X with “cycle day” recommendations….. I’m going to be the guinea pig!
That means that I need to do my recovery week NOW! – good thing is that it was yoga day anyway so I’ll do Yoga as planned and do 4 more days of Recovery Week.
On Monday I’ll repeat this week without doubles as it starts the “cautious Week” and go from there.
Cycle Days 6-21 are the HARD TRAINING days so I’ll do doubles on those weeks…..
I’ll actually be doing the exact same 90 (95 with recovery) days just having to mix the recovery weeks up in there. Will be interesting to see how much stronger I am able to perform and thus become……. I really believe in working “with” our bodies rather than against them so I am pretty excited to give this a go!
Power outages are no fun! So sorry- We are very accustomed to them with all the thunderstorms we have 10 months of the year. My candle /lantern supply would make you think we had no electricity at all!
Belly Burner Abs is a premix on Tracey Staehl’s Sculptfest. It’s a 9 minute killer! I hadn’t done it before and definitely could not hold for all counts. Its like ARX in some regards… You aren’t going to make it if your lower back strength isn’t there yet and mine still needs lots of work. I think Tracey does a superior job with ab work. The 2 I have are entire core region and intense if done as produced.
Nurse those tired legs as I’m sure you have another long weekend ride!
::::::::::::::::::: Debra X :::::::::::::::::::::::
Your planned dinner sounds yummy! I think I would have eaten it without the tortillas!
LOL on the lice/MW! I swear that was my immediate thought! In my house you find MW for DH and Soy Mayo for me…. Probably would make those little lice do a happy dance & breed!
I also took note of the lower body exercises recommended in the article and will be adding in B&G and Brand New Butt on my “allowed” doubles days! I so appreciate you posting those.
Too funny about living in workout clothes- I do as well. I have slowly been giving away all my “work clothes” but its been hard… I had great taste in classic suits and didn’t own a ton but what I have/had is great quality and ageless. I still have all my pumps too… Lord knows my feet would die in those now.
::::::::::::::::::: Amy :::::::::::::::::::::
No worries on delaying Kick a day… That kind of housework was a VERY active non X day! Glad you got it done and so happy that you are excited about your guests! Have a great time!!!!
Congrats on your Core Syn performance! I applaud anyone that can show gains with that one. I like the Master Series Core Cardio better although its got many of the same moves. – Even Dreya Rolls *rolls eyes*
How did Dave sleep with the new meds? I sure hope that helps him.
::::::::::::::::::::: Wendy :::::::::::::::::::::;
Oh you poor thing! Its bad enough when we are personally restricted- but a child? Oh my!!!!!!! I am pretty amazed that you get a restrictions list WITHOUT a “what to eat” list… I’d question that one.
I’m kinda anal but heres what I’d do.
I’d look at the NO list by category- Protein Starch-Fat etc….
As you are looking at NO proteins start making a master list of YES proteins…. Etc…. That way you can have a master grocery list and begin to create meals from there. Just a suggestion.
Many hugs to you!
::::::::::::::::: Nicole ::::::::::::::::::::::
Glad your back is getting a chance to heal up a bit. Just remember its trying to tell you something…. Enjoy StretchX. Take it easy on those back stretches/twists- Yoga X as well. That’s why I started subbing Yoga X for other Yogas- I always ended up with back strain after Yoga X Days. Enjoy!!!
:::::::::::::::::::: Katie :::::::::::::::::::::::
Let us know what you decided about cardio…. I saw my greatest number results in phases 1 & 2 but actually VISUALLY could see the difference more in phase 3- I did 30 minute cardios about 2-3x a week in phases 2 & 3
::::::::::::::: Laurie X ::::::::::::::::::::
How was DD track meet last night? I find myself sending here “swift” vibes on meet days! I’m sure that’s why she does so well!!!!
:::::::::::::::: TeddyGirl :::::::::::::::::::::
Somehow I don’t see you enjoying Squeeze… You might because you like legs so much but I don’t think I’ve heard you talk about that type of leg work before…. Its kind of pricey I think – are you snooping it out on ebay? Hope that report got done with few hassles!
:::::::::::::::::: Sandra X ::::::::::::::::::::
Lice report please!
:::::::::::::::: Tracy X ::::::::::::::::::::::::
We have just got to have a chat with your school…. You are waaaay to busy these days!
Frosted Flakes???? OMG I used to LOVE those! So funny how the littlest thing like a cereal can take me right back to childhood! I also was a Lucky Charms girl! Lol
So sorry to hear about the fridge! YUCK having to deal with all the food! Hope you didn’t lose it all- If mine went out and I couldn’t save the food I couldn’t afford to replace it all- I buy in bulk to save$$ ! Hope it gets fixed quickly and is still under warranty!
OK GANG- Back later………….
Good morning,
Today was pushups (all on toes) from GS Chest & Triceps, then LIC Upper Body Sculpt 2X (only did one set of pushups), then abs from KPC 2X, concentrating on "zipping". Only did 1 set of the plank/pikes on ball from KPC as I didn't think I could do the 2nd round safely. Good upper body workout today. I liked the band work for back in LIC. Really felt it in my upper back. Have a bike ride after work tonite and will mow the lawns when I return. DH will have the mower ready for me. What a guy! I'm so lucky LOL!
Traci, we've got to see pictures of the new hairstyle and cut. It took me over 2 hours having mine highlighted and I have short hair. Hope yours was worth the $$$ and time. The Key West Lime Shrimp sounds like a perfect choice for dinner, and no guilt to boot. Did the "nap" come after that? At least you wouldn't have been too full. You amaze me that you will just dive right in and figure out a routine to optimize your results. Me, I'm too lazy. I haven't really noticed a whole lot of changing or lack of energy or strength during my cycles. Good for you to know for when you start personal training other women. I'm sure they would appreciate advice and insight into those particular problems. I like how Tracey Staehle works the abs. Do you like the whole Sculptfest DVD?
Tracy, sorry about the refrigerator. Got to be a big PITA. Hope it's under a warranty. I've been hearing a lot more about appliances just being defective nowadays. Have you been having problems with your upper back or shoulders lately? Don't think I read that you had an injury there. Hope it leaves quickly. Glad you won't have to stay late at work after today. I'm definitely not an overtime person at all. Frosted flakes, LOL! Up until P90X, I was a cereal junkie. I haven't bought any since then. I love my oatmeal and have it every morning. Afraid to get back on that cereal train. We didn't have power last night and I had DH get out the camp stove so I could boil water for my cocoa.
Got to run,
Jeanette
Hi to all! I'm headed to take DD to school and then off to the grocery store to get those darn tortillas I didn't have last night for my dinner! Then home to walk the doggie and then it's yoga for me today. I will either do Bryan Kest...or I have a new Eion to try. I'll bbl to catch up on personals! Thanks Traci for the article...I'll take a look at it later.
Classic: Phase 1/ Week 4/ Day 4/ Round 1
StretchX
Well I did StretchX for the first time and almost fell asleep. I am sooo tired this morning. I think my early mornings are catching up to me. Is it Friday yet?
Hope everyone is doing well today. My DH left early for work this morning and my boys are still in bed so I'm getting to personals early:) My 2 year old will be so happy bevause he hates it when I am on this computer.
Jeanette- Hope your legs don't have serious DOMS today. Hopefully you can get then worked out on your bike before they get too bad. Glad your power is back on, that's never fun. How nice of your DH to get the lawnmower ready for you, now all the hard works done:) LOL
Traci-X- I am so glad I stopped having my hair colored. The cost was outrageous and with two boys in private school and me being a stay-at-home mom, it was more than I could afford. Don't get me wrong, I loved having it done, it just seemed like I was in there forever and I had to take out a second to pay for it:)
Your dinner at TGIFriday's sounds yummy, I might have to try that one:9 I am so excited that you are going to be our guinea pig:) Let me know how the menstrual cycle training regime goes. My DH is the same way about"naps". LOL!
YogaX doesn't seem to bug me too much so it has to be this darned computer. The vacation planning started it so I try to use it as little as possible now. Thanks for the link, I'll have to check it out later.
Tracy- Yeah, it's still there evryday and I don't like the feeling at all. I'm going to the chiro again tomorrow to see if he can help it at all. I hope so:) I'm glad you won't have to stay late at work again for a while. That always seems to throw your schedule off.
Amy- Hope you were able to get all of your chores done before the in-laws showed up. Have a ton of fun while they're there. How did your husband sleep? I hope it was better and that he didn't get anxious because of his parents arrival. I must have posted the same time as you yesterday bevause I just saw your post for the first time this morning.
Debra- Now I know what you mean about StretchX. Long and boring. At least it's only once a month:) I'll soak up some extra sun for you! How's the moving going? It must be hard to do it without your DH. At least he'll be home for "vacation" to help a little.
The boys are waking up. Gotta go!
Good morning,
You’d think with all the leg work that I do my legs would be like what. Well, they don't :(:( :( So much cellulite on them, I almost passed out in the store last night, still not looking good, my thighs are covered with fat, its' ridiculous, could it be a fifty thing. I almost died in New York and Company.
I tell you its going to take alot more work on my legs to get rid all this sh&&, maybe a MIS rotation, that did it before. I got so down and out last night, almost drove little Ms Daisy to pizza, but stayed strong :9 I hate the mirror’s that they have in dept store. My legs didn’t look this bad a few weeks ago, just lets me know I need to rethink what I’m eating.
When I was younger, way back in 1810 :+ I could never wear normal pants, not until they came out with baggie pants, my entire thighs took up baggie space, but I was cool with it, I could wear pants:) Before that, my mom had to buy 2 sizes bigger cut off bottom and take up waist, I'd a tiny waist. It all boils down to me needing to work harder!!!!!!!! This is why I walk a lot but I’ve too compromise my booty, crazy, but it is what it is
If I ever get rid of again I’ll never get it back, funny how all my weight gain skips other parts of my body and goes right to my thighs, that's wicked }(
This morning, I did Gin Miller, Power work out, that’s it for today. I’m still in the dumps x( x( x(
Jeanette: to answer your question always worked out like this, even when I use to be on The Firm forum a lady by the name of April she had a bad a$$ body, but, they all use to get on me about my workouts. I enjoy working out. back later
Teddygirl~
Hi Teddygirl,
Just wanted to give you ((hugs)) today. I'll be thinking of you. My thighs aren't too good either, but better than they were 4 years ago. You'd think that with all the cycling the fat would leave off of them. I'm with you though, try not to get too down about it. At least you are strong and I'm more satisfied with that these days than cosmetic stuff. I'll be 49 in November. Hugs again,
Jeanette
Teddygirl~
What about a major shock to your lower body workouts and diet?
I've had great results slimming the lower half with a freestyle approach, ie, 4-6 exercises for lower 60+ reps with light weight 3x per week (it's time consuming) and adding on 3-4 cardio session, or what about using cycle of 20 squats with light weights/20 jump squats, 20 lunges/ 20 power lunges, 20 plie squats/ 20 plie jump squats for 3 cycles, etc. plus 20 minutes of cardio, B&G leg blast, L&G blast, then 2-3 more sessions of varied cardio for a total of 5-6 leg workouts per week. That's what I'm using right now.
Can you run or jog? That is a real fat burner. Still like I told Traci, you have to have your diet under control. Have you tried a low fat diet? I know that it's not in style, but it has always worked for me (20+years). If I eat fat, I get fat.
Tracy
Morning ladies. Today was Shoulders, Chest and Triceps... WOO HOO I think I found my favorite P90X workout!!! I loved it!!! I could barely raise my arms after it was over. I felt really strong today and was happy to say that I did all of AbRipper without having to take any breaks during any of the moves. I hope that the back and bicep workout is as good as the one today! I loved all the weight work, which makes sense since the Gym Styles are my favorite Cathe weight workouts.
I haven't decided quite yet about the cardio. I think I'm just going to do some when I have the time and am in the mood. I have the day off tomorrow to close on the house so in addition to Plyo I think DH and I are going to go to his gym.
Thanks for all the support and advice ladies! I really appreciate it. You all are definitely helping me get through this!
Katie
Heyyyy, ladies -
Upon Traci's great suggestion I'm finally warming up to launching a P90X classic rotation on 5/15. Yikes! May I join you? I'm so impressed with everything you ladies are doing... and I'd love to join in. We'll see if I can do it (yikes, yikes, yikes)
The best is yet to come!
Cheryl
Hi Gang! Will be back shortly with ALL the personals.....
I completed yoga today.... Did 30 minutes of X (all those nasty vinya things! + Magically Hips = 90 minutes WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO
I think I'm making the right decision coordinatng X with the cycle days.... My heart rate was in fat burn zone for 60 minutes of the 90...Not a good thing for Yoga imo- I burned 373calories and its rarely over 220. I was sweating like a piggy and thought my heart was going to fly out of my chest.... Cant imagine trying to lift the remainder of this week. I do think my body will do much better by this strategy.
FIRST: YEAHHHHHHHHH CHERYL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have other buddies here already! You know Amys here but did ya know Sandra is here... She started our WW Thread ... oh sp many moons ago!
TeddyGirl: I think you should give Tracy X's suggestion a good long try..... If I recall when you were freestyling awhile ago you LOVED your results.... Also- Just an FYI. When my diet is CLEAN - I mean no sugar - no refined carbs - my leg cellulite almost disappears in 60 days... once I'm back on sugars its glaring at me (like now- because of last 6 weeks!). Just my experience with the C Devil!
Be back shortly...... I fear Sandra x has been eaten by lice!
Yea!!! Cheryl!! Traci....we've converted another one to the "dark" side:7 }( :p :+ Welcome aboard, girl!!! This is an awesome group, of which I am still getting to know all of them!
Classic/Phase 2/Week 1/Day 1- Chest/Shoulders/Triceps
Well, the house is now clean and the cats don't know what to do about it! We routinely have stacks of junk mail on the table that Jellibean likes to sleep on, now it's all cleaned off!
Laurie- I am so sorry to hear about your cousin! My prayers are with you and your family. Yes....what happened next door??? I hope that it's all okay!
Jeanette- WOW!! WTG on all the GS toes-ies push-ups!! I am still re-training myself to do push-ups with correct form from when I was active duty and had to crank as many out as possible in 2 minutes, therefore I always did them with my hands super wide and way in front of my shoulders (that way I didn't have to go down as far to make it look like a full push-up). Now I do them all on my knees and will continue to work up to the toes. No, you weren't being nosy, my DH is disabled from a series of back injuries from being active duty, so he's in pain pretty much all the time. He's already gone through about 6-7 surgeries on his back and it looks like we are going to be looking at the next one on his neck!
Tracy- I am sorry to hear about the fridge dying!!! I actually wish mine would die because I HATE it!!! It's a side-by-side and I really don't like it because it doesn't have much space on the inside! I know that it's a hassle, but good thing you had a spare in the basement!
Debra- Thank you so much for the compliment. I love what I do for a living and DH says that I am "Damn good at it". Please, don't hesitate to aske questions, either. If I don't know the answer, I know where to find it!
Okay, ladies, I think that Traci already celebrated.....Today is National Shrimp Day (according to hungrygirl.com). DH and I are going to honor this tonight when the in-laws arrive....they fly in from Indiana, so the first order of business is seafood!
Traci- Yes, we tend to eat out a lot with Mom and Pops in town because they say that they don't want me to go out of my way to feed them. Mom already said that she was going to do her best to make this a vacation for me as well. I am really looking forward to it because it also gives DH someone to talk to besides me and the cats!:7
Morning Xers,
Doubles: Ph2/Wk6/Day3/Rnd2
Workout: Back & Biceps / B&G Stability Ball Abs / 2 Mile Run
Hope to get all of these workouts in tonight. Have to take youngest DD for her dress rehersal for dance. Don't know how long this will take. :) I'm still smiling.
Well I found out what happened at our neighbors house. Apparently the husband committed suicide. Another of our neighbors heard the shot and called 911. I found all of this out from my youngest DD, who heard everything on her bus ride. :(
Thanks to all of you for your warm thought about my cousins son. I sent a bouquet of flowers that was from all of my brothers, sisters, parents, neices and nephews. It is amazing what you can get done late at night from the web. This is probably the only time I didn't whip out my CC without a second or third thought. :)
Jeanette, When you did the push-ups in GS, did you change your hand position? I am looking at doing GS when I get done with this rotation, and was wondering if that is something that I could incorporate into that workout.
Traci, Your good vibes about running swiftly must have helped my DD. She improved her time on the mile again from 6:44 to 6:20. Her coach was very proud of her. They came in 5th place for their relay event, because they didn't have a very strong 1/2 miler. But my DD said it was her goal to pass some of these girls to get a better placement. :) I am glad that resturants have started to list the nutritional information on their menues. Applebee's has the WW items on their menu, and they are very good. Makes eating out so much easier.
Teddygirl, I have been thinking of the freestyle type of work, (as Tracy suggested) for my legs also. Did you know that your lets look really good if you lay on your back and put your legs in the air. :7 :7 Just wanted to make you laugh a little. And you are right,I have never found a dressing room that has made my legs look wonderful. :) I even have big knees, (thanks to my Grandma!) so some pants are super tight around my knees. x(
Debra, Since you are running around today, do you think you can get my grocery shopping done for me also. Youngest DD was compaining last night, because there where no snacks for her to take to school. Usually she takes a piece of fruit. The only thing I have left in the house is a tomato, and she didn't want to take that. :7 :7
Wendy, So sorry to hear about the diet restrictions for your daughter. I can't add anything to the advice already given. Just here to give you a big hug, and this will work out ok. :)
Tracy, Frosted Flakes was a staple in our house when we where kids. I also enjoy Sugar Smacks, of course now they have the PC name of Honey Smacks. :)
Cheryl, Glad you are ready to join the P90X world. I am on my second round and enjoying it again. It makes it easier with the support of all these ladies.
Have a great day!
Laurie
Good morning!
I'm still alive, but I think the lice are dead. I'm being as aggressive as possible in delousing the kids. That means I spent a good 5 hours yesterday nit-pickingly picking through the kids' heads for nits. I was up until midnight again, as I also had to cram in the grocery shopping, and the rest of my day's work around the nit-picking. But I think it was worth the effort. This morning I found only a few eggs in DD#1's hair (does the shampoo neutralize them, or will they still hatch if not removed?), and found nothing at all in DD#2's hair. So, I'll keep checking them 2x a day until next Wednesday, or until I'm satisfied that they're truly gone. Thank you to everyone who responded yesterday. Now I can get back to personals!
Oh, yesterday I did CTX Kickbox cardio, and Leaner Legs. My butt and thighs are feeling it today. Good workout.
TraciX - Did Tracey's Belly Burner really burn your belly? My goodness you did a lot of working out yesterday!! I'm glad you figured out the shoulder problem and have found a way to fix it. I also prefer to sleep facing away from DH; I can't stand the sound of other people's breathing. Drives me nuts. So you're cleaning up your eating? Great! Back to Tosca? I've pulled out my book "Breaking the Food Seduction" by Neal Barnard. It's very similar to "Eat to Live" by Joel Furhman, which I think you own? Barnard's book promotes low-fat vegan eating. By time we came home I felt saturated with sugar and simple carbs. I've stuck with the vegan/complex carb/plant food approach for a couple of days now and am not missing the sugar one bit. I don't know how long I'll continue to eat this way, but for now it's what I feel I need. I need to read those links Debra posted yesterday. Thanks for being our Guinea pig!!! DD#1 probably picked up the lice from school, and the eggs hatched while we were on vacation. So, we can't blame the relatives; we have to phone them and apologize!!!
DebraX - I hope no one got a computer virus from us yesterday! That would be my luck....I just read those lifting links. Thanks for posting them! I can't understand it, but for some reason Days 21-28 are the best for me in terms of workouts and mental clarity. I just don't get fatigued, and my brain fires on all synapses. This is completely counter to their chart. What's up with that, I wonder? Your new house is beautiful!!! And huge!! What did you decide regarding your furniture? Are you going to sell it all and buy new?
JeanetteX - I gather you've been having some gassy stomach problems? Is this something new for you? Did you know the glycemic index for a piece of angel food cake is *lower* than for a slice of white bread? Cool, huh? Your power seems to go out rather frequently. Is it because of the area you live in?
LaurieX - I'm so very sorry to hear about your cousin's son!!! That is so tragic; every parent's nightmare. I hope the family is supported through their grief. Did you ever find out what all the hullabaloo was about while DD waited for the bus? Sounds rather scary.
TracyX - Your new plan sounds good. What made you decide to rejig things? I need to get back to focusing on zipping and kegelling and all that. It went by the wayside for the past week. You're going to do yoga daily? Wow! I'm going to look for Shiva's new dvd. You make it sound so good! If it's anything like Yoga Shakti, I know I'll love it.
Wendy - Thank you for the recap the other day!! You're a funny duck. Oh Dear about poor Waverly's elimination diet!!!! How are you doing today? Have you found at least a few items she'll eat, to hold her over for 2 weeks? In the book I mentioned to TraciX ("Breaking the Food Seduction" by Neal Barnard), he talks about the link between migraines and food. That's not a problem I have, but obviously there's a link. I hope you figure out what her trigger is, so she doesn't have to live with such pain. So Phil's wanting to branch out with his workouts, hey? Cooool!!! I hope he likes the workouts you bought. They're all terrific. I haven't uploaded pics yet; no time so far. I will soon, though.
Katie - I hope you find a resolution that will keep you motivated and seeing results. It's tricky. I'm a cardio-junkie, too, for the emotional-stability it gives me. A good cardio session is like a Reset button for me; I call it my "Attitude Adjustment Hour."
Amy - Thank you a million-fold for the mayo advice. Is that from the Mayo Clinic? (groaaaan, har har). I'm going to tuck that away and use it if I start to spot some re-emerging bugs on the baby's head. Of course, putting mayo on the baby's head only makes me come this much closer to eating her. But that's always a problem between mothers and babies. Dousing your head with kerosene??? Oooooh my! That sounds horrid! I'm sure all your cleaning yesterday burned enough calories to count for Kenpo. Just move on and don't worry about it.
Nicole - so how are you enjoying your first round of the X, so far? Did you like StretchX? I really enjoy that workout.
Teddygirl - which Squeeze workout are you going to get? Are you doing any P90X workouts at all anymore?
I'm all caught up from yesterday, and will have to come back later for today. I'm going to put DD down for her nap. Then I may end up doing Cardio & Weights as produced. I haven't decided yet. Right now I'm just going day-to-day, until I find time to sit down and plan ahead. My goal for workouts this week is simply to do them! Every day, just work something that wasn't worked the day before. It's not ideal, but at least it's something.
Have a great day,
SandraX
FABULOUS news about the lice! Are the girls finding it all annoying or just more “fun”? I totally get your workout schedule this week and commend you for jumping right back in! Lets face it- after vacation week anything you choose will make your body say…”WHAT?”
I am back to Tosca… Actually zig zagging days between her Hardcore Plan, Strict Plan and Maintenance Plan… Its really not about calories at all its about “what” foods you eat on those days. Working for me this week so far. Good for you with the eating too! I have tried again and again to do the Eat to Live Plan- even modified and just find my energy level so low that I can barely move by the end of day 3…. I’ll keep trying as I’d LOVE to go vegetarian (except for the fish we catch) and Egg whites…. Gotta have my favs!
:eek: :eek: Laurie X
What a HORRID HORRID sad week you are having. I am so sorry! I tell ya- there are days after watching the news that I can barely make myself leave the house alone…. It all seems to be escalading and it scares me to no end. I am holding all of you in the highest healing thoughts I can.
Please give DD a HUGE ^5 from me!!! Wish we lived close so she could coach me on my running!
:eek: :eek: Amy
Your planned dinner sounds YUMMY! Congrats on completing the cleaning task… now its just time to relax and enjoy!
:eek: :eek: Katie
Your enthusiasm continues to make me smile! Congrats on the ARX gains! No easy feat!!!!
What do you think was “magical” about your MIS rotation & legs? I haven’t done that one in over a year so cannot recall the leg work in it. If you want to join my “THUNDER THIGHS CLUB” I’ll sneak you in for free!
:eek: :eek: Nicole
I so tried to go a-la-natural for 4 months and my gosh it was horrific! I am so gray/ash brown and none of that compliments my aging dull skin tone! If I found a really cool wig that didn’t make me sweat I might do it again! Are you still using the ball as your office chair? I need to try that to help with my horrid posture. LOL on falling asleep in StretchX – I agree- a bit TOOOOO much relaxation unless you’re ready for bed.
I do really like the Sculptfest DVD. It’s hard to categorize it as produced… Functional Fitness Core Work maybe? If I find a day where my hair isn’t in pony tail I’ll be sure and post a pic! Lol…. That could be awhile – Its HOT and HUMID here now. Great workout this morning! Good for you for not substituting good judgment for bragging rights on your pikes! Enjoy LawnMax!
All caught up now!
Have a great afternoon gang!
Hi all,
I have not gotten my core and Sculpfest workouts and they were supposed to be sent Monday before last. It just dawned on me that maybe my kids intercepted them and hid them. They are still after me about working out too much and my back.
Traci - I rarely sweat with yoga, but still my upper body will feel fatigued at the end. See, you don't have to overdo to burn calories. I think that Mark Blanchard says you burn around 700 with his 90 minutes. Color and cut costs about $200 here. I only go twice a year, but it sure hurts my wallet when I go. No natural for me. I'm not ready for salty looking hair.
Nicole - I hope that the chiropractor can help. Are you taking any Ibuprofen? That might help get rid of the inflammation. I would definitley be doing any stretching that you can comfortably do.
Wendy - I must have missed the diet info, but I went on an elimination diet to find out what was triggering my mood issues. It was a long hard haul, but I finally narrowed it down to citric acid, which is deadly for me, calcium proprionate, bad for me. I didn't get any further, but I know that I am sensitive to chemicals in general, so that helps me to eat clean. I get so bitch** and depressed when I eat that stuff that I am just miserable. It will be really hard with a child; you have to be so disciplined and food additives are where you least expect them. One thing that I'll tell you, the label doesn't always list everything in the product. For example, if it lists tomato paste, they do not have to list what is generally in the tomato paste, so you have to be really savvy. If you get frustrated, I'm a real believer in food/body connections so it is worth trying to figure out.
Sandra - I once worked with a student who had lice crawling all over her head. I could barely stand it. Are you starting a new rotation? I will be doing yoga daily for quite some time. There is probably still a little nerve issues going and the yoga is what is combatting the signals from the nerves to tighten up the muscles. Plus, I just love the relaxed way I feel. It's like calming drugs. Problems are just like; whatever.....
Debra - I think it was you who commented about the side by side fridge. That's what we have too. We wanted to get the top/bottom type, and I can't remember now why we didn't. The one we have is physically huge and doesn't seem to hold anything.
Jeanette - Did you get your woodstove in? I think that I'm going to go ride this weekend. I wanted one more week to let the back rest. As long as my seat is adjusted to the right height, I rarely get a sore lower back, but you know how it is when you first go out.
I'll catch up with everyone else later, I just can't remember everything
Rest Day :):) :) :) :)
I stayed up until 5:30AM. I'm such a baby! I can't sleep without Phil home. I tried rescheduling today's art lesson, but wasn't able to make it work. Dd wants to finish her current watercolor portrait for the art show. So, I dragged my ornery self to lessons. Dd's art teacher wanted me to STAY HOME. He knows how I function with little sleep. He gets an hour of listening to exactly what I think about everything wrong about everything without any regard to politeness or manners. }( I'm surprised he didn't cancel another class for me. LOL
Got Waverly's prescription filled last night. The pharmacist asked if dd had allergies. When I told him it was for a possible migraine, he kinda gave me a strange look and commented that it could be possible. So, I interrograted the him for about 20 minutes. LOL He was encouraging and thought her doctor seemed to know what he's doing since he's older (looks like he's 75 to me!) with a lot more experience than a younger doctor.
She still went to sleep with a headache. It was still there this morning. I talked to another doctor in the practice. He's seen the twins since they came home from the NICU. We communicate better than the doctor we saw yesterday. He suggested the same thing as Amy, eliminating one food at a time. The prescription she has is used as a preventative medicine. So, I can give her motrin for pain if needed. He did say that if this medicine doesn't work, we might need to see a neurologist since dd doesn't seem to have any of the common migraine triggers (stress, lack of sleep, auras, nausea, etc...) Anyhoo, we go back to the doctors next Tuesday evening. Thanks for all the support. I really appreciate y'all listening to my breakdown!
Now onto some Personals!!! Y'all have been a chatty group today!!!!!!!
Traci-X: Don't get me wrong, Phil tries. I am just really good at shutting him off when I'm tired! He also knows that I don't have much sympathy for his kind of "nap" when I'm anxiety riddened. ;-) He's upstairs sleeping. I think I'll be safe if I decide to to take a quick nap. * I think you're doing the smart thing by moving your recovery week to coincide with your cycles. Any workout, much less a weighted one, can drain my body during the end of my luteal phase. The only problem that I forsee could happen for me is if my cycle gets off cycle. Also, my cycle is typically short aka FERTILE: 24 days. I started the X right around the beginning of my cycle days It worked fine for the first phase. However, this upcoming recovery week won't come soon enough. I can already tell week 7 is going to be tough on me being premenstrual. I know TMI. Since you'll be my personal trainer one day, I thought you should know. ;-) * Did you go to a new salon or use a "Stylist" at your regular salon? The lady who does my hair is considered a "stylist" and charges accordingly; which is twice as much too. But, she's worth it to me. I love that she knows color. Her cutting techniques aren't GREAT, but it's far from needing to wear a hat for 6 weeks and making hairdresser voodoo dolls! You're dh must like it. Sounds like he wanted to show off his beautiful wife more than trying out the new TGIFridays. Phil likes taking me there before a shopping spree since they serve alcohol. Not because he knows he'll have to part with money. Oh! It's to get me tipsy so *I* can deal with crowds and salespeople with grace. LOL Have you consulted your dh about living in workout clothes? Phil is soooo happy and relieved that I finally gave up wearing dresses and skirts and modest apparel everyday. He never said anything until after I started working out this year. To him, the low cut Lululemon instructor's pants and deep V tops are a welcome change. He's so EASY!!!! :7 :7 :7 (It's funny because it's true!) Thanks for the menu planning tip. I still have to go grocery shopping. I'll sit down and plan something now.
I'll be back for the rest of personals. So much to do and so much to say!!!
Wendy
Wendy,
Quick question: if you start Waverly on medicine to prevent the headaches at the same time that you eliminate possible trigger foods, and she doesn't get a headache for 2 weeks, how are you going to know if it was a result of the food-elimination, or the preventative medicine?? Seems to me like you need to do one or the other, and also eliminate the food on a systematic basis, as others have suggested.
Okay, I'm only supposed to be skimming emails right now. DD is awake and playing in her crib, so I need to go get her and feed her lunch.
BBL,
SandraX
