Morning All!

Woke up with DOMS in booty from Barrys Bootcamp Butt & Legs & Cardio.
The actual workout is nothing overly exciting- traditional standing & some plyo type work. The cardio on this DVD is way to much plyo for doing it back to back with yesterdays cardio for me so at least I know to mix other cardio type workouts in with BBC. I kept my step height for all the leg work to 8" vs their 12" as my legs bulk with step height. Today is Chest & Abs + cardio in Barrys Roation.
I did Barrys Legs/Butt + Cardio at 6pm and had done some HiLo & Kick in AM for about 50 minutes. Today I will probably do zero cardio and just the strength.

TRACY:
Hope your trip is safe and loads of fun! We will miss you but completely understand no check-in! Take care of that back- maybe a good long break is exactly what you need to heal completely!

LEA:
So glad you got to check in & that your baby is doing better. I think they always are so happy to be home! One day at a time with our older friends.

SANDRA:
I think your 30 day X plan sounds fabulous! I am doing my own cardio (more kicks) because I love the sculpt aspect of kickboxing- Its one of the few cardios that actually leans me out quickly. Do join us on the 1st... I will be doing a modified version as I want to use some of my good ab workouts I've now collected along with ARX. I also will have to be adjusting some days as we are starting to head to bay for long weekends & I wont lug my heavy weights (6-20's) every weekend. We'll just have to play it all by ear- week to week and see how it goes. You'll be seeing current pics within a couple of weeks as once the ttom bloat is gone I'll do pre X pics this time. When we get our tanks I think we should all post one of the "pose"!

Debra: Hope DH FINALLY arrived last night! What a fiasco traveling in all the various seasons the states are having. Good luck sweets!

Steph: What a productive postX day! COOL on getting BBC! Lauries descriptions are so good! I dont think they are "the best workout in the world" as they state but not too shabby so far! Have a great time with your new Cathe rotation & Please keep is posted EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!

Jeanette: Hope your day was less exciting yesterday! You sound so very busy at work right now. Take some deep breathes!

Laurie: Looking forward to reading your Sh/B review!!! I LOVE shoulder work and will be so excited when I do that one tomorrow! Are you going to do his Full Body as planned? What do you think... Next week is my last week before I start X again, would it be good muscle confusion to do Barry Full Body 2X next week rather than his splits again? Just trying to make sure that Phase 1 of X is a strong showing in terms of muscle building. I feel like last round I was a bit wimpy on the weights/pushups until I got beyond mental limitations. Thoughts???

Great day to all!!!

Good Morning, Xers! Today will be my first day in 3 months without Tony! It's gonna be weird! I'm going to be doing Cathe's GS Chest and Tris, and Abs, too. She suggests the abs from Butts and Guts, but I don't have that one,so I'll probably sub a Core Max segment.

TraciX - I can't believe it's already time for you to do another round of the X! I'm defintely going to do another one, but I think it'll be closer to May. Are you planning on mixing some of Barry's Bootcamp in with Tony to alleviate boredom, or is that not a problem for you? Are you supposed to do cardio everyday with BBC?

Off to get breakfast and then I'll check back in later to see what the gang's up to today!

StephX

Good morning!! No workout this morning, BUT I do plan on getting one in sometime today. Maybe say, DrillMax or CC??? Sounds great. And I will finally get to all those personals today. How I have missed you all and what is going on with you.

My cat, Crystal is doing all right. I am a little nervous about giving her the drip, so I just might call the vets and have the techs do it. The needle is enormous. Well, to me anyway. I haven't given her an injection yet and am trying to figure out a good time as I have to do it in a 12 hour span. Maybe 8am and 8pm? We will see.

Time to go drink some java. Have a great morning. BBL;-) }( :p .

Lea

Good morning!

Like TraciX, I've got the sore booty today, too! But mine is from the KickMax leg conditioning drills. When DD naps today I'm going to do the BodyMax2 Cardio & Weights circuit. I haven't done this one before, so I'm looking forward to it.

I did one of Amy Bento's stretch segments, from her Stretch & Abs dvd. It seemed shorter than the promised 15 minutes, but I may have been watching the clock wrong. It was all done standing, and I didn't feel like it did much good. It would be a nice add-on standing stretch after a Cathe cardio such as Step Blast or an IMAX. Amy's second stretch segment is done on the floor, so perhaps if I was to do both stretch segments in one session I would feel more benefit. XStretch and YogaX have just spoiled all other stretching videos for me! Nothing gets "in there" good enough!

I started writing down my food yesterday, and the calorie count. I can't believe that on 1800 calories, I was *still* hungry at bed time! However did I survive on Weight Watchers' piddly amounts? My body must have become very adept at conserving and using calories! Hopefully my appetite will adjust to 1800 cals/day within a day or two. I started trying to keep the cals at this level last week, and did fine during the week. But the weekend was a different story, so now I think I'm back to square one. Oh well. Live and learn.

TraciX - How long is Barry's Bootcamp for? I agree that kickboxing does wonderful things for the lower body, especially when you circuit it with lower body strength training. It sounds like you had quite the workouts yesterday! You deserve a day without cardio! Do you plan to start on April 1 (a Sunday), or wait until April 2 (a Monday)? I like having Sunday's as my rest day, so I'm thinking of waiting until Monday to start. I have to think about all this. I'm also thinking that maybe I should take the lean approach, and go for the 12-15 reps. I don't know. It feels like I'm wimping out if I do that :) Maybe you can design a workout for the Bay that uses only body-weight and band exercises? I'll bet TracyX could help you with that!

LeaX - YAY on DK doing better!!! How was her/his night at home? Oh my gosh, giving a pill to a cat is hard enough....how do you give one a needle twice a day?! I'm wishing you all the luck in the world. Did you ever see that internet ditty about "how to pill a cat"? Hilarious! I wonder if there's one for needles? Did I mention that I had to unexpectedly euthanise my 14 year old kitty on the day we moved into our new house, which was also DH's birthday? Talk about an emotional roller-coaster day! How's your head cold?

DebraX - Have a great visit with DH! How long is he home for? HSTA and High Step Challenge are both terrific workouts. Whichever one you do, work it good! You don't see my pot-belly in those pics because I've got children on my lap LOL! Part of the problem is that I'm very small-busted, so any bloat will make my belly protrude more than my boobs, and then I just look proportionately WRONG! I need implants, just to make my waist look smaller :)

TracyX - When you say you aren't interested in going on the road trip by yourself, do you mean you don't want to do the drive by yourself, or attend the weekend by yourself? You sound like me about the wardrobe. About 3 years ago I bought a whole bunch of new clothes, and they're all falling apart at the same time. I have a hard time finding anything to put on in the morning, and I'm getting tired of wearing my one pair of decent-looking jeans. I hope that DH gets a good commission cheque in April, because we all need to go shopping. But I hate shopping for clothes. Ugh! That's another reason why I wait until it all falls apart.

JeanetteX - No late night post from you! Is everything okay?

StephX!! - How was Day 1 of the January rotation? It's a tough rotation, if I remember right. Have fun!

Have a great day,
SandraX

Morning again ladies!

Steph X: Gosh I so recall how sad I was on my first non Tony day. i was like a wimping baby... You seem to be taking it all in stride (possible you are more mature than I - even tho I'm older?) Your plan is starting off wonderful with GS Splits! Have a great time with your old pal Cathe! I will play the Barry subbing by ear. I really didnt get too bored with the weight segments last time but if I feel a plateau coming on I may do Barry for 1 week each phase... Who knows! Beginning to sound like I'm re-creating the wheel!

Lea X: You had me chuckling about the needle size! OF COURSE it looks enormous- its your baby! I always said if I ever had to give myself injections I was screwed- NO WAY! Give Crystal a hug for me and tell her prayers are coming in from Texas. Enjoy whatever workout you decide to do!

Sandra X: Yeah on the sore booty! Gotta love your KM drills! Oh I liked the Circuit you are doing today... I cant recall if thats the one that seems lite on lower stuff- (Thats probably why I liked it!)
Too bad about that first Amy stretch... Do you think its worth the $ if I already have the X's, TBS, & SMax? I relate on the food! Some days I swear I must have eaten only 1000 calories by my hunger level and yet I'm well into the 1800-2000 range. Same food but it just fills me up differently. The weekends are just too challenging for me to try to stay at weekday calorie level- thats why I zig zag. I make sure I have enough "zag" room on dining out days! Barry BC doesnt really provide info about duration etc.. Its nothing like X in that respect! I can see doing it for a 30 day rotation maybe? Thats with mixing some of his cardio in with my own. I havent viewed all cardio yet but Day 1 & 2 are pretty heavy on Plyo so I dont think thats good on a daily basis. I will give credit tho that he created different cardios for each day unlike our little tony and his CardioX! I'll be starting X on April 2nd (monday) in the PM! UGH!!! We are going for a 4 day weekend and wont be coming home until Monday afternoon... One of the things that worked for me with X over the winter was that I was home for M-F weights and can do cardio/Kenpo at bay no problem. Its going to be a bit tricky this time since we do so many 3-4 day weekends now thru summer. It'll all work out no doubt!

Back later gators!:7

Morning Xers,

Today I'm going to do some yoga, Bryan Kest Power Yoga: Zone. Haven't tried this one yet, so we will see how it goes. Here is the description of BBC Shoulders and Back. Back work seemed a little lacking, but you could incorporate pull-ups in these quite easily.
:D I liked the shoulder work in this one and my abs are sore today.

Barry’s Bootcamp Shoulders and Back (they should include Abs in this also.)
The instructor in this one is Joey (he explains each exercise before attempting) and the total time for the workout is 45 min for the weights and 20 min for the cardio.
Warm-Up 3-1/2 Min.
Jog to Run in place to High Knees. Jumping Jacks to running in place.

Shoulder Burn Out – Light Weights
Slow Punching 1 min.
Double Time Punches 30 sec.
Military Press 1 min.
Military In-Out 12 reps

Back Burn Out – Heavier Weights
Bent over Fly 1 min.
Push-up with Row Alt R&L 8 Each Side (Row uses weights)
Bent over Row 1 min. (I liked how he said to do these as if you where trying to break an egg in the middle of your back.)

Abs Burn Out
Lay on bench with feet on floor and reach between legs 30 sec.
Toe Touches 30 sec.
Alternating Toe Touches 30 sec.
Mason Twists with weight 12 total. Joey called these cyclones or something like that.

Lateral Side Raises 25 Reps
Front Raises 25 Reps
Kneeling Rows R&L 25 Reps
Upward Row 30 Reps
Elbow Raises 30 Reps
Plank 1min.
Side Plank 30 sec each side
Overhead Lats 2 min.
Cuban Press 12 reps
Dumbbell Cross 12 reps each side
Dumbbell Twist 15 reps (holding the dumbbell in the palm of each hand, extend your arms straight with dumbbell in vertical. Start alternating your hands from top to bottom. This is where the twist comes in.
Dumbbell hold (holding the dumbbell in the palm of your hand with arm extended) You hold this for 5 count and then change hands. Repeat 3 times.
Standing Abs This is a series of different side to side moves for the obliques.
Cool Down - Stretch

I have done the cardio in this one before so I just copied from that post. All these are 1 min. to 30 sec each. And you also repeat the whole sequence. The jump rope sequence, I could really feel in my calfs. By the time the High jump came around the calf muscles where burning.

Running in place
Jumping Jacks
High Knees
Jumping Rope (all Jumping is done as if you where jumping rope)
Jump Forward and Back
Jump Right / Left
Jump Forward-Middle/Right-Middle/Back-Middle/Left-Middle
Jump on Right Foot
Jump on Left Foot
Alternate Jump from left to right
High Jump (This is feet shoulder width apart and then you jump as high as you can, land on your feet)
Squat for 30 seconds
Knee Repeaters

Traci, I was thinking that I could use the full body in a rotation just like using Core Syn. The full body probably has more cardio in it than CS, but I think it would be a fine fit pre-X because it doesn't use weights. I'm thinking of starting the X again on the 1st with you. I will be doing a form of doubles this time. Adding about 30 min of running into my day. And changing the Legs, just felt there wasn't enough for the booty. :D Also if I want to do a Cathe or some other instructor, I will. On the BBC cardio, I agree with you. The plyo work back to back each day could be really taxing on your legs. That is why I changed things up with the treadmill. It works much better for me.

Lea, so glad to hear that there was improvement for you dear friend. :) Such a tough thing to go through.

Sandra, I hate to shop for clothes also. My oldest DD received about $100 in gift cards for her B'day, and now wants to go shopping for clothes. :) And shopping with a teenager is sooooooo much fun! NOT x(

Debra, I would love to meet you and your DD. The faire is a fun place for the kids too. At least mine never seem to want to leave.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hey gang! Back to report that my workout is done for the day:

BodyMax2 Cardio & Weights premix; PUB abs. Doing the BM2 and PUB abs in one session makes for a REALLY nice, toasty core. It's about 15 mins, and I recommend it.

Cheers,
Sandra

Hi ladies...Just dropping by for a quick chat...DH did not get home until after midnight last night!!! And then we stayed up late talking and stuff...I didn't get to sleep until after 3am...Traci was probably just getting up! Anyway...things are going well so far. I got in HST this morning..even though I was dragging a bit and also took the pooch on a walk. I am planning a steady state cardio of some sort tomorrow...Maybe KM...didn't Sandra just do that one? I won't be able to exercise on Sat or Sun this weekend since we are taking a quick jaunt up to Minnesota to visit same friends.

Just a few quick, quick personals...

Sandra...Working those abs I see!!! I also am a bit lacking in the boobie department...We would probably look like twins standing beside each other! I want to start my food diary up again after DH leaves...It really does help me stay accountable to what I am eating...and helps me lower carbs which tend to be my downfall.

Traci...Hope your booty is feeling better and you are able to go to the bathroom without much pain! You sound psyched to start the X again....Glad you are feeling so strong about it!

Lea...Glad kitty is better...you'll get the hang of the needle..I have a friend who has to give her kitty insulin twice a day...and it's gotten pretty easy for her. Hope you got to your workout today.

StephX..Hope you had fun with Cathe today...she is so different from Tony, but I was definitely ready for that change! I actually thought about putting an X video later this week...I was thinking about legs and back...but then, that's the one with the moaning from Dreya...so we'll see!

Laurie...Hope you had fun with yoga...and thanks for the Barry descriptions...Looks like I'm going to have to invest in that series...where did you get it?

Hi to Tracy, Jeanette and Monica! I'll be by tomorrow for a quick check in....but then I probably won't see you guys over the weekend...But I promise to be thinking of you!

Also...next week I will be posting a list of DVD's that I want to get rid of....I don't want to go through eBay...and I really don't want any money...I'll just be happy to get my library cleaned out a bit.

Bye for now!

Debra

Evening Ladies,

Got back from my overnight shopping trip to Reno this afternoon. Garage door had come off the track again (we need to buy a new one) and I couldn't get into the house. Keys didn't help as we have latches on the inside. Had to let myself in thru a window. I had to stack 2 rounds of wood and climb thru the bathroom teeny window. Comical, had to let myself down head first with one hand on the top of the toilet, the other gripping the shower stall bottom. I was thankful for the strength workouts in P90X. Had a productive time in Reno, 3 new desperately needed bras from Victoria's Secret, some products from Bath & Body Works and a leather couch & sofa and 2 lamps. Credit card took a beating but we have a life insurance policy that is paying off in the next week (no, I didn't do in my DH ;-)). No workout today, but plan on Slim Series Firm It Up tomorrow. Will be off work again and go shopping for the new woodstove. Probably do a bike ride also in the afternoon. We have another group ride (a toughie) on Sunday. Looking forward to that one. Oh yeah, got my hair weaved last night. I'm a brunette and she put in "toffee" highlights that look red to me, very subtle, not chunky. I think she was trying not to scare me. I like it, maybe could have have it less subtle but we'll see. Looks natural to me.

Traci, that DOMS in the booty is a good thing. I'm due to do Butts & Guts sometime as that one really got me for a number of days. Won't do it tomorrow, but sometime soon. Love your dog pictures! Our dogs sleep on the bed too. We love our babies.

Steph, how was GS Chest? I found I could go heavier and do all of the pushups. I haven't done any strength workouts for a while so don't think I'd fare as well.

Lea, how is your cat doing? How are YOU doing with the injection? Hope you are managing okay. And your cold, is it better? Which workout did you do today?

Sandra, sounds like BM2 with PUB abs is a good one. I still haven't done PUB since getting done with the X. I will sometime, just focusing on Slim Series right now.

Laurie, how was the yoga today? I really like Bryan Kest's yoga. Is the name of it "Zone"?

Debra, sounds like you and DH are having a good time. So glad of that. Will be nice for you two to take a little trip together. Why does he work in Russia?

Got to go,

Jeanette

Hello. I finally have a chance to catch up with all of you. I did DrillMax today(I think I really like that one). Tomorrow I will probably do CC with ARX. Gotta lose some poundage from eating/drinking too much and not exercising. Cardio, here I come.

Traci X - Do you just workout all of the time? You are just miss workout machine, or is it that you have accumulated all of these dvd's and feel that you have to try them all??? Hmmm...Well, they are going to have to wait when we start our X rotation. Which one are you going to do? I am thinking about doubles. Oh and you just reminded me about the tanks. I will post about it after I am done with personals. But if I forget, please please please remind me tomorrow.

All right, Miss Steph X- How does it feel. I can tell you I miss Tony or the pain or the groaning, or the cookey sayings(flying through the air with the greatest of ease), who the heck knows. I so want Butts and Guts too. Maybe after the next round of X. I don't know. I know one of the posters from here, but now on BB forum looks awesome. I am thinking of pm'ing her to see what workouts she has done to maintain/get into the great shape that she is in. Oh and my 6 year old is soooooo into Legos. I dread picking them up every night because he has so many. How is the Star Wars coming?

Sandra X - Oh, Miss Sandra X. Have you had time to read that book yet:p? My meditations have flown out the window as of now, but come retreat time, they will be in full swing. Looks like I have to do KickMax. I have that dvd, but have never ever used it. Must try it for at least the drills. You MUST let us know about the cardio and weights circuit. Had I looked on that dvd, I probably would have done that one today too. I am thinking of starting my XX rotation on April 2 too. Sunday for me is a good rest day. Which rotation would you do? So sorry to hear the story about your DK;( . How hard that must have been to have everything going on like that, especially with all the emotion of losing your DK. Crystal is doing all right. She seems better. I had to force feed her tonight so I could give her some insulin. She is just such a picky eater that I don't know if she just doesn't like the new cat food. We will see. I am crossing my fingers that she doesn't go back to being really sick.
I haven't read the past posts, sorry, but are you planning on going on the road trip?

Laurie X - Oh jeeze, I think I need to go to bed, because when I saw BBC I automatically thought of the British station. So I am sitting here thinking, Wow, BBC has a cool looking workout. LOL.:+

Sandra X- Just saw that you like BM2 premix. Must try that and also read further along the posts when I am posting.

Debra X - I am so glad to hear that things are going well with DH. Ugh Debra, you are one brave woman. It must be hard. LOL on the needle. The insulin was not the hard part. It is putting the IV needle in my DK's back so she can stay hydrated. I did it, but she moved and it came out and she was not having it from me again today, so I took her to the vets to have them do it and watch. They gave me some good pointers though. Good luck with your visit. I really do hope that things workout the way you really want them too. Ooooooh, I can't wait for your dvd's posting. YAY!!

Jeanette X - Hi there. Darn those garage doors. Do you need my special DIY(oops, typed DYI first, Do Yourself In:+) video on how to fix/fix up your garage;-)? I also include some handy dandy tools with the dvd that only Xer graduates can use. I am so happy that you could fit through a teeny window. YAY!!! That is awesome. Yay on the highlights. You must post some photos!! As far as my DK, the insulin injection is nothing. Glad I got it over with. Will be glad when the 5 day IV injection is done though. She does NOT like that one. And my cold is much better, thank you for asking. I drank lots and lots of Yogi Cold Tea so that really helped me.

Tracy X - Have a fantastic trip. We will definately miss you around here. I want to hear all about it.

Ok, I remembered. Here is the deal on the shirts gals. To be honest, I really can't charge anything on the cc for the rest of the month until April 7th. I can order the shirts then if nobody minds. I do apologize for all the delays. I really didn't expect such huge expenses coming towards me this month. But hey, life happens and then slaps you in the face a few times more. So let me know what you gals would like to do. I really won't be offended if you want to call me names(ok, maybe a little), throw pie at my face, etc.

So that is about it now. Shout out to Miss Monica!!! HEY!!! Have a great night, and since most of you are asleep, see you all bright and early.

Lea
