CL/PH3/WEEK2/Day4: YogaX
Oh Mama! I love YogaX days. That workout just makes me feel sooooo delicious. And every time I finish, it's always "Booty!!" that I think about for the rest of the day. It targets the glutes and hips better than Legs & Back, IMO. Am I the only one who actually prefers this workout to other yoga videos? Mind you, I don't have anything by Brian Kest, and he appears to be very popular.
TracyX - how wonderful that you're able to challenge yourself to the degree that P90X did. I like how you inserted all those hand positions in your workout yesterday. Oatmeal makes you bloat? Hmmmm, I eat oatmeal and Kashi Go-Lean, sometimes both in the same day. Perhaps this is why I end up looking 5 months pregnant by time I go to bed at night? I should pay closer attention to this. I know you're also a fan of yoga, so whichever you choose to do, have a wonderful workout. I look forward to seeing your pictures. So how did you get past your forearms limiting you in your bicep work? Your tastes and mine regarding working out seem identical. I don't pick up CK very often, either. Something I LOVE to do, though, is to circuit segments of CK with Leaner Legs. I made up an 82 min workout doing that, a couple of years ago, and just love, love, love to do that.
TraciX - I can feel your excitement about your workout today! Excellent job!!!! You're going to be just fine without a prescribed program. Those were very interesting details about your dr appt yesterday. She's put you on a LOT of medication. I know it's for the short term. I'm just wondering how you're going to feel if you throw all of this at your system at the same time? Mind you, your doctor knows what she's doing (we hope!), so my question is just a curious inquiry and not a criticism of her prescriptions. Have you started taking some stuff already? When you say you will be yeast free, does that mean you will be avoiding yeast in your food? That can be tricky! There's a book called The Yeast Connection that is all about eliminating yeast from your diet, and starving the excess yeast in your body. If my doctor used those words to describe me, I'd be on the moon. You're living proof that a healthy lifestyle really does improve quality of life, and is worth every ounce of energy you put into it.
Laurie - nice job on the rock star hops. Next week you can challenge yourself to do all the tuck jumps at double speed
Jeanette - are you only doing a yoga workout today?
I'm sure your body is asking for a break by now! The spinerval workout sounds really gruelling. But anything with Terrible in the title is seems likely to feel, well, terrible. That sounds gruesome about your veins. Are you bruised from all the poking? I have that Shivea dvd but have only done bits of it so far. With your cycling in addition to P90X, I can see there being no need to do CardioX for you. Do you plan to ever do another P90X rotation?
Debra - great to hear how well IMAX3 went for you last night. I'm dreading doing that one again. Before P90X I was able to cruise through it pretty good. Now I'm concerned blasts 4 and 5 are going to feel as brutal as they did the first time I did the workout. Oh well, I won't know unless I try, right? And I won't improve unless I do it, right? Right. I'm glad DD's fever is a 24 hour thing. Don't you wish the schools would notify parents about these things *before* their children get sick? At least then you would have an idea of what to expect and how to treat it.
Lea - I'm so sorry to hear you have bronchitis! I hope that's not what your little guy has, too. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on the Reno book. And if you try any of the recipes, let us know if you recommend them.
Monica - I eat the Kashi Go Lean cereal a few times a week and have never noticed a direct link with bloating/gas. The next time I eat it I'll be sure to pay attention. That's icky about your veins rolling (can you tell I have severe queasiness about veins and anything inside the body?). Maybe you should sign up to instruct an advanced class at your gym? Show them what cardio is really all about }( }( }(
DH is flying to Las Vegas today, and comes home in the wee hours of Monday morning. I've been dreading this trip (his work sends him every year) because it means I get no break from child tending in the evenings. I'm also resentful that he gets to go where it's warm and dry, eat restaurant food, and not have to shovel snow, and I have to stay here. It's not fair!!!! There needs to be a SAHM conference, in HAWAII, paid for by government grants. How interesting it would be if all of the fathers were suddenly left to look after their children. If they even made it to school, the kids would be wearing 3 day old underwear and dogs the country over would be stuffed full with homework. Okay, I'll try not to whine about this too much over the next few days.
Cheerio,
Sandra
