Hi all,

Glad to be starting us off, because that must mean Traci is sleeping in. I was really tired last night and it had to be because of the heavy lifting. I could hardly keep my eyes open at 9 and I didn't get up until 7.

Today is some cardio and yoga. It is supposed to be a run, but the weather is not cooperating, so I'll have to sub.

Hi to all who follow. BBL, enjoy your days and your workouts.

Tracy

Morning Tracy X... Yes I did sleep til 445:7 Was exhausted after yesterdays marathon Dr visit. Thats terrific that your (Tracy X ) lifting is still so strong that you are fatiged! I am so impressed by how you are continuing on your journey!

Today is GS Upper. I will be doing the "as produced" versions using my Alternating Body Parts Log. Primary focus is to work Back-Sh-Bi REAL good so I'll do that one first... If I feel I can still go heavy I will do Ch & Tri. If I feel that I'm "done " after the first one I'll just re work schedule to get Ch-Tri in a day or 2.
I would like a 30-40 minute cardio so we will see what kind of stamina I have without compromising lifting.

BBL with personals from yesterday evening! Have a great day all:7

Morning X'ers,

Classic/Ph3/Week10/Day3

Today will be Back & Biceps plus ABX.

PlyoX was great yesterday. I can sure see an improvement for me. On the rock stars I was able to do them at the faster pace for the whole time. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning,

Classic/Phase 3/Week 2/Day 4

Yoga for me today, but I subbed Shiva Rea's yoga instead. Beautiful production DVD and very relaxing. I did the Basic Flow premix for 42 minutes. Spinerval workout last night was a good one, after the warm up, it has four 15 minute sections where you work in big gear at level 3 heart rate (85%) of max. I stayed for 3 of the sections and then cooled down and left as I was as spent as I wanted to get, plus needed to get home and help DH on his workout. I helped him on Bowflex to do Chest, Back and Abs. I then did AbX.

Tracy, sorry about the run not working out today. Wonder what your sub will be for cardio.

Traci, I'll be curious to see how GS Upper goes for you today. Are you going to do your own count and cadence? How is this working out? Can you concentrate on your own count and tune Cathe out? Inquiring minds HAVE to know! What kind of cardio will you do as a warmup?

Laurie, good job on the rock star hops! Hope B&B is good for you today and that you get a good pump from it!

BBL,

Jeanette

Hi lady Xers!

Hope you are all well this morning....Glad TracyX and TraciX got in some extra zzzz's last night! I did Imax3 yesterday and the first segment of Stretch Max. Imax went much better than I had hoped. I finished the whole thing (I'm not sure I've ever done that before!) And with very small modifications. I did have to stop at one point and take DD's temp and give her some more motrin...but that was it. I also notice that my heart rate dropped pretty quick when it was over. I added on Stretch Max because I was just feeling tight all over and felt much better after that! Today is B&B for me...Won't be able to workout until late this afternoon since I have a ton to do around the house this morning and then DD has gymnastics this afternoon. She is doing MUCH better by the way...her teacher said that the one day fever was going around her school...Who knew?! So I am planning on getting to my workout right before dinner time.

Traci...Let us know how things go with GS today..I will be curious, too, what kind of format you use.

Jeanette..Sounds like you had a pretty tough workout day yesterday. How is DH doing with his workout program? Glad you had a relaxing yoga workout this morning!

Tracy...Our weather is yucky here too..Wicked cold with lots of snow on the ground...It's uncomfortable to go out for just a couple of minutes! Have fun with yoga today...Are you doing Bryan or something else?

Laurie....Have fun with BB today...Glad plyo went so well for you last night...I wish I could get into that one...but it was good for me to take a Tony break yesterday.

Hi to all other fellow Xers...Hope you are healthy and having great workouts today! Will be back this evening to read everyone's posts!

Debra

****Gym Style Back - Shoulder - Bicep Faux P90X Review

Its a KEEPER!!! :7

I used the Mix n Match Option and alternated the 3 body parts until entire workout was completed (* the log I made a few weeks back reflects this)

I decided to lift HEAVY and do my own rep count.... Actually was quite in tune with Cathe as she goes slow in this series:7

I used my 1# ankle wts on my arms so I could increase all weights previously achieved with Tony by at least 1 pound. I was able to complete all cycles with the heavier weights because I alternated body parts. :7 :7 :7 :7
Using Mix n Match I got in natural mini breaks between exercises so the workout was just a tad longer doing it this way. Took me 62 minutes using Mix n Match VS 52 as produced. Yippee Yippee Zippity Do Da!!!!!!
The other wonderful part of using Mix n Match is that since it goes right back to the menu of exercises after each one I had a chance to do more reps in many cases without having to stop & hit pause!
LOTS OF PERKS doin it this way for those of us that "need" the instructor! If ya X'ers dont have GS I think its a must get before you complete program.. & SH is a naturalfit :7
Gotta go eat a little something and then I'll tackle some cardio off of Body Max to round out workout day. My muscles are way to fried to do GS Chest & Tricep so I'll get that in tomorrow.
BB with personals in a bit!

Good morning all of you X'ers!!! How is everyone today? Well, still no working out for me. But I am feeling better. I cleaned a little yesterday, big mistake, now my lungs hurt!!! I cannot wait to get better. I miss working out. But I finally did receive my Tosca Reno book and my two Oxygen Nutrition magazines. There are some fantastic recipes in there.

Tracy X - Good for you for getting some descent sleep. Sorry that you are having lousy weather and can't run.

Traci X - How are the Gym Style's working for you? I so do miss doing them. BTW, skimmed yesterday's posts and congrats on the news from the doc on how good you look. I am so inspired and I can't wait to really start on The Eat Clean Diet. I really don't think it should be called Diet though, Lifestyle is more like it.

Laurie - Great job doing Plyo yesterday. I don't miss that one.

Jeanette - Good work on yoga. You are still a busy bee huh? That's great. And awesome how DH is still sticking with you on working out!!

Debra - Yay on the Imax. Sorry to hear about that DD has been sick, but I am glad that she is doing much better. I am taking DS to the doc today because after having a fever last week, he still has a runny nose and a terrible cough. Poor thing. It's sad when the lil guys are sick. Good luck on your workout today. I hope you get it in.

Hi to everyone else. Have a great day.

Lea

:7 LEA X: Oh I love seeing you post, as I know that means you are feeling just a bit better. I'm telling you girl housework will kill us! I know youre frustrated about not being able to work out but just take this time to plan, read your new goodies, & take care of you! Eat Clean "Lifestyle" is really paying off for me. Feeling stronger and leaner with each week. She makes it all seem so easy and managable! Take Care *Post when you can.

:7 TRACY X: Kudos a million times over for incorporating pushups into your yesterdays workout. I give you so much credit for doing whats good for you vs what you'd probably like to sneak by with!

CL/PH3/WEEK2/Day4: YogaX

Oh Mama! I love YogaX days. That workout just makes me feel sooooo delicious. And every time I finish, it's always "Booty!!" that I think about for the rest of the day. It targets the glutes and hips better than Legs & Back, IMO. Am I the only one who actually prefers this workout to other yoga videos? Mind you, I don't have anything by Brian Kest, and he appears to be very popular.

TracyX - how wonderful that you're able to challenge yourself to the degree that P90X did. I like how you inserted all those hand positions in your workout yesterday. Oatmeal makes you bloat? Hmmmm, I eat oatmeal and Kashi Go-Lean, sometimes both in the same day. Perhaps this is why I end up looking 5 months pregnant by time I go to bed at night? I should pay closer attention to this. I know you're also a fan of yoga, so whichever you choose to do, have a wonderful workout. I look forward to seeing your pictures. So how did you get past your forearms limiting you in your bicep work? Your tastes and mine regarding working out seem identical. I don't pick up CK very often, either. Something I LOVE to do, though, is to circuit segments of CK with Leaner Legs. I made up an 82 min workout doing that, a couple of years ago, and just love, love, love to do that.

TraciX - I can feel your excitement about your workout today! Excellent job!!!! You're going to be just fine without a prescribed program. Those were very interesting details about your dr appt yesterday. She's put you on a LOT of medication. I know it's for the short term. I'm just wondering how you're going to feel if you throw all of this at your system at the same time? Mind you, your doctor knows what she's doing (we hope!), so my question is just a curious inquiry and not a criticism of her prescriptions. Have you started taking some stuff already? When you say you will be yeast free, does that mean you will be avoiding yeast in your food? That can be tricky! There's a book called The Yeast Connection that is all about eliminating yeast from your diet, and starving the excess yeast in your body. If my doctor used those words to describe me, I'd be on the moon. You're living proof that a healthy lifestyle really does improve quality of life, and is worth every ounce of energy you put into it.

Laurie - nice job on the rock star hops. Next week you can challenge yourself to do all the tuck jumps at double speed ;)

Jeanette - are you only doing a yoga workout today? :) I'm sure your body is asking for a break by now! The spinerval workout sounds really gruelling. But anything with Terrible in the title is seems likely to feel, well, terrible. That sounds gruesome about your veins. Are you bruised from all the poking? I have that Shivea dvd but have only done bits of it so far. With your cycling in addition to P90X, I can see there being no need to do CardioX for you. Do you plan to ever do another P90X rotation?

Debra - great to hear how well IMAX3 went for you last night. I'm dreading doing that one again. Before P90X I was able to cruise through it pretty good. Now I'm concerned blasts 4 and 5 are going to feel as brutal as they did the first time I did the workout. Oh well, I won't know unless I try, right? And I won't improve unless I do it, right? Right. I'm glad DD's fever is a 24 hour thing. Don't you wish the schools would notify parents about these things *before* their children get sick? At least then you would have an idea of what to expect and how to treat it.

Lea - I'm so sorry to hear you have bronchitis! I hope that's not what your little guy has, too. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on the Reno book. And if you try any of the recipes, let us know if you recommend them.

Monica - I eat the Kashi Go Lean cereal a few times a week and have never noticed a direct link with bloating/gas. The next time I eat it I'll be sure to pay attention. That's icky about your veins rolling (can you tell I have severe queasiness about veins and anything inside the body?). Maybe you should sign up to instruct an advanced class at your gym? Show them what cardio is really all about }( }( }(

DH is flying to Las Vegas today, and comes home in the wee hours of Monday morning. I've been dreading this trip (his work sends him every year) because it means I get no break from child tending in the evenings. I'm also resentful that he gets to go where it's warm and dry, eat restaurant food, and not have to shovel snow, and I have to stay here. It's not fair!!!! There needs to be a SAHM conference, in HAWAII, paid for by government grants. How interesting it would be if all of the fathers were suddenly left to look after their children. If they even made it to school, the kids would be wearing 3 day old underwear and dogs the country over would be stuffed full with homework. Okay, I'll try not to whine about this too much over the next few days.

Cheerio,
Sandra

LEAN/Phase 3/Week 9/Day 2

Hey, everyone! Yesterday I did Chest and Back for the first time and now I know what you all are talking about. I don't think I did as well as I could have since it was the first time I did it, but my chest has some DOMS today. I am terrible at those diamond push-ups and divebombers! I was impressed with the German girl, though, and my goal is to be able to do as many reps as she does. Then, I did Segment #1 from Core Max and really loved it. I just could not do ARX again! I did the whole segment without a break, but could not do those levitation holds. I don't think my arms are long enough or something. When I put them down by my sides they are already touching the floor so I can't get any push off. I'm pretty tall, too so that might have something to do with it.

Sandra, just a quick note, but at this point I agree with you about YogaX. I did one Brian Kest and maybe it'll take a while to get used to him, but I still feel that Tony's YogaX is more enjoyable.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Steph

Hi ladies!

Sounds like everyone is doing well today...Don't have time for anything except a quick hello...Just wanted to let everyone know I read your afternoon posts....I still have 2 very loud 5 year old girls running around my house, so no workout for me yet. My dd's playdate is running later than expected, so I am not sure that I am going to get it in! GRRR!!! I haven't missed as many workouts in the past year as I have in the past month!!!!

I'm with Sandra on the SAHM seminar!!! It doesn't even have to be in Hawaii for me...just as long as it is somewhere warm and it includes free massages and pedicures. I would be willing to go to a couple of parenting classes for those treats.

Have a great evening ladies...and keep your fingers crossed that I actually get to work out this evening!

Debra

Hi all,

Today I ended up doing the Gauntlet cardio only, skipping the recoveries and then one step segment from cardio and weights and one more interval. Either I am getting sick or my workouts from Mon-Wed have me more tired than I thought. I got through it, but was sweating buckets. Legs were especially lactic acidy. I did some of my own ab work, showered and then walked the dogs for a little over an hour. Legs still felt lactic acidy while I was walking, but I was able to stretch more that I have recently, so I think my back is slowly getting better.

Traci – sounds like you and I were doing similar things with the gym styles, except I did sh/tri/bi. I was able to use the mix and match. I was looking on the Shape Fit website to get some new exercise ideas. Have you ever seen that website? I’m definitely adding in more cardio this time. I’m calling it a shock! Yeap, I added the pushups for an extra burn at the end. You just have to do it!

Laurie – Glad you saw some progress with plyo x. That one really gave me some good muscle fatigue which wasn’t always apparent until I went to work my legs the next time. It is so effective. Back and biceps is a killer, but also so effective.

Jeanette – I like Shiva, haven’t done it in a while though. I should pull it out. I haven’t gotten in my yoga this week like I should. I changed to tomorrow because I really needed to walk the dogs today instead.

Lea – Glad to hear from you and sorry about the bronchitis. I know that sometimes that takes a long time to get over.

Debra – I thought about IMAX 3 today and said no way. That one is tough, so kudos on getting it done. I hope you get in your workout today. I’m not nice when I miss a workout.

Sandra – I massaged my forearms at some points during back and biceps just to get through. I’m not sure how I finally got past the exploding forearms. I actually think I just developed some muscle because when I did the rows with 70 lbs, my forearms didn’t burn and Cathe has said that if your fore arms burn it’s too heavy. I’m assuming mine are stronger. You can make the gauntlet into a nice leg circuit by doing step ups during the upper body parts and just going heavy and doing legs only on the compound exercises. That did wonders for my legs. I also like to do the cardio leg premix of HST or the Cross Train Express circuit along with the circuits from BM 1. Those combinations are excellent. I’m going to have to get creative again. I wish I had a multiple disc dvd player. Sorry about having to be on call 24/7 with the kids. I know that we all love our kids, but sometimes it is so hard.

Steph – You did the pushup marathon. It is a chest strengthener like no others. I used to put my hands on my dumbbells and do the levitation holds. That’s probably cheating, but at least I could get off the ground. I couldn’t any other way.

As usual, glad to read everyone's posts.

Tracy

Hi there. I am back for more personals. (I know you are excited about that ;-) ). Viewed Cathe's Drillmax today in hopes that I can do that one on Saturday.

Miss Traci X - I know about the housework thing. That is why I really try not to do it, but after a while, it gets kind of gross. I am so happy to hear that eating clean is working for you. Now I am starting to feel guilty about adding creamer to my coffee. Urgh. Time to check some other options.

Sandra - Yay for yoga. I am hoping for some Brian Kest in the future. But I love Yoga X. So far I have tried a banana bread recipe from the Oxygen Nutrition magazine and it was pretty good. My youngest DS even loves it, thank goodness, because it is a pain to get him to eat fruit. Sorry your DH is going to be gone. I am also with you on the SAHM conference. It would be interesting to see the DH's in action while we are gone for a few days. I may do the Cathe trip if money allows, now that would be interesting}( . But hang in there.

Steph - Those diamond pushups and divebombers are hard. Phase 3 really seems to be the time for DOMS. Hang in there.

Debra - Hope you get to workout tonight!!

Tracy - I hope that you are not getting sick. Take care of yourself.

Until tomorrow!!

Lea
