Xers-------TGIF! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I survived Day 2!!!!! I don't know if my heart rate monitor is working correctly. It said 115 when I first put it on while resting. During Plyo it read around 177-180. My heart rate was up, but I didn't sweat or work as hard as I do with Cathe. Now it's reading around 80. Weird.

TraciX: I hope your day is wonderful! Thank you for the encouraging results with Plyo. My thighs need all help they can get! I'll let dh know he's welcome to join this check-in. I might have to be his secretary since he types sooo slow with 1 finger!

Debra: You are so sweet. I have so many faults and struggles. It was nice to hear your kind words. Thank you! My oldest is 18. I had him when I was 19. I don't recommend it to anyone. LOL Next in line is my 15 yr old ds, 13 yr. old ds, 9 yr old dd, and 8 yr old identical twins. I had my three oldest boys with my ex. Then I remarried and had my three girls. So, see I don't have that perfect life. But, I do have the perfect family for me! :)

Oooo, dh just walked in the door complaining that his chest, arms, back, legs and even his a$$ cheeks hurt. LOL He still has Plyo to do. Insert evil laugh!!! I hope he does it before we leave for the musical so I can watch him suffer. }(

I'm back again. I have to avoid the children. At least when I'm on the computer they think I'm working. Too bad DD#1 can read so well now; she's harder to fool these days.

The KPC/LG premix is one of my very favourites. It's a ton of fun. You start with the KPC warm up and intensity drills, then circuit the LG standing work with the 3 KPC combos. It finished with KPC stability ball ab work and stretch. Very, very nice workout.

BTW, go into this premix through whichever workout is listed on the right hand side of the screen. The workout on the left side skips over combo#1.

What an aggravating morning, though! Interruptions on top of interruptions. I wish I'd just gotten up at 5am and done it! Instead I chose to catch some extra rest. Oh well. At least I did it.

TracyX - I would recommend Amy's All-Pump Extreme only if you want a creative workout similar to Cathe's Power Hour or Muscle Endurance. The worst part of the week is over with, I think. Today I have kids here, tomorrow there will be children here, and Sunday's still up in the air as to what we're going to be doing. Personally I'm sooo ready to be back to my routine. I've completely abandoned the idea of getting any work done for myself this week. I think I might just do PUB tomorrow, as you suggest. And a short cardio of some sort.

LaurieX - Thanks for stating your goals. I'm going to use BG a lot, too. I'd like to do one lower body workout with BG a week, and one using heavier weights, like GSLegs. But then I'll miss the pull/chin ups in Legs & Back. So how do I get around that? I'm still working out the kinks, obviously.

DebraX - No, thankfully I didn't have to go to Chuck E Cheese this week! But West Edmonton Mall is about equivalent. This is the "world's largest mall" (owned by the same people as Mall of America), and has a full amusement park inside. I spent yesterday going on ride after ride after ride, while children jacked up on sugar and junk food screamed in my ears. Your DD's comments during the ab routine were priceless!!! I don't know how you were able to continue, and not laugh. Adorable! The pictures of Julia and Molly are beautiful! Julia is precious. Can she come over and play with my Paris? Molly looks very sweet. Please put your face close to hers and ask "Who's the good dog? Who's the good doggie??" while scratching her head.

Katie - April 9 it is!! Jeanette and I followed the diet pretty closely for Phase 1. At the end of Phase 1 I said forget it and went back to doing my own thing. Jeanette moved onto the Phase 2 eating, and has pretty much stayed with that, I think. I'll have to let her speak for herself :) You're in an apartment temporarily? Are you in the process of moving?

LeaX - Here's a hot water bottle for you and a hug ((((LeaX)))). I love those days when you can slough around in bed and avoid life. I haven't had one in more years that I can remember. I hope you feel better really soon. At least you'll be through this before starting the X. No need to apologize for the "misunderstanding". I never gave specific details. Thank you for posting your goals. I'm enjoying reading them. I have a Costco membership, and never thought about buying fruit & veggies there. That's a great idea. I'll have to think about doing that myself. Heck, you won't miss me because I'm attached to a computer with an umbalilical cord. We're going to stay with my parents in Ontario at the end of April, for a week. It will coincide with my P90X recovery week, which will make the working out more convenient while I'm there. I won't be off-line the whole time; I'll sneak on at their house when I get a chance.

Wendy - Are you sure you're not Briee???? And if you're not, then you two should meet. She's a regular on the chin up check in, and she's a hoot: 6 kids, homeschooling, works out hard. Frankly, when I read your idealic-sounding existence, I wonder if you're not making it all up! ;) Thank heavens there's a young pregnancy and an ex-husband in the picture LOL! How did you like PlyoX? Ah, I see that you posted already. That's a hoot about DH! If his butt is sore today....My DH is doing P90, and feels it badly enough. P90X would kill him.

TraciX - Phew!! You're here! I was getting worried about you. Dang tootin' right that DH should go get you the cord! On your birthday, to boot! I gave you some good wishes on the open forums. Will there be cake this evening? I think JeanetteX has the crown for being the oldest jewel in our group. Not sure.
You're hoping to drop another 6% of BF? My! What happens if a famine hits? You'll be the first to go! (You can never be too prepared). I'm probably going to start my weights at the same point as my first Week1, then bump them up where necessary. I also asked DH to stop and buy me some 35lb dbs for the lawnmowers and heavy pants. My own 27.5lbs (25lb db + 2.5platemates) dbs felt too light for those right from the start last time. Yay! New equipment!! Did you ever get my response to you after you emailed me the worksheets? I never heard back; just hoping you don't think I ignored you. I'm not sure if it's cheaper for you to send the Finn dvd to me. I'll have to check it out. Thank you for the offer!!

Okay, the children have just called for a bandaid, so I'd better go!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR TRACI.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Wishing you all the best on your 44th!

Tracy

Okay...I'm back from my nap with my back turned toward the kitchen so that I can't see the stacks of junk.

Sandra...You crack me up with the comment about Traci being the first to go during a famine. I'm with you...you can never be too careful! Thanks for the compliments on the doggie and the kiddie. And I had no idea THAT was the mall you were going to yesterday. We used to live in Minnesota so I've been to M of A....That is Chuckie's on steroids! You poor thing! It's a lot of fun but it is very loud. I surprised you could even hear Cathe for your workout today. I guess it's good that you are familiar with it!

Wendy...Funny about your DH...Now you know what's in store for him! Plyo is hard on the legs and his bootie will be even more sore tomorrow! I am always in awe of people with a lot of kids...My DH and I have only the one and we are very happy and satisfied with that. So, hats off to you!

Okay...I'm off to tackle the kitchen. I may have to have a cocktail to get me through. I have to do the office, too. Sob, sob.

Sandra - Yes, we are building a new house that will be done in May. We put our house on the market in November, anticipating that it would take several months to sell. It sold in 4 days!!! Wonderful for us, but we have been living in an aparment since January. I've never lived in an apartment before, so it's been an interesting experience.

Katie

Katie...Good for you in selling your house...Ours has been on the market for months and still no go! It is so frustrating! But I am also happy that I don't have to live in an apartment with my DD. That can't be much fun!

Good evening ladies,

Really late for posting, took a little snooze after shopping after work.

First of all, want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACIx!!!! Hope you are having a wonderful day today, heck I hope the whole weekend is a blast and relaxing and everything you want.

Sandra, thanks for the suggestion of the B&G Leg Blast premix. It was a good one for sure and it was nice doing a Cathe workout. I think out of her new series, I like B&G the best. I'll be doing the Saffel kickbox tomorrow. You too? If I were (and I'm not right now) to start P90X again, I'd do my leg workouts differently, adding more leg work in. I needed improvements in that area for sure and still do. I like more of a freestyle approach as that's working good for me right now. I never thought of being the crown jewel of this bunch, LOL! If anyone is older than 48, speak up ladies. So far, not feeling any different than when I was in my 30's. The yoga weekly is helping me feel less stiff as that's where I was feeling age setting in. Lesson learned from P90X!!!

Tracy, thanks for the nice words on my cycling. Hope you can get the tightness in your hip resolved. I rented Amy's Hi-Lo the other day and liked it okay. May get that one at some point.

Laurie, mmmmm bananas and oatmeal. I just bought a big bunch of bananas today. My last one was brown. I eat 1 banana a day, usually split into 2 halves for my snack times. I don't think I'll ever tire of oatmeal and bananas. I'm loving my cinnamon and nutmeg on my oatmeal in the mornings too.

Debra, love your goldendoodle! My DH had a standard poodle when he was growing up. Said he was the best hunting dog he ever had if you can believe it. So your daughter may be horse crazy? I always was, hard to believe I don't have one now. I usually always had my horses at home with me, but only boarded them when they were in for some occasional training. Not sure I have too many tips, but I'd be very willing to try to answer any questions you may have. What kind of riding is your DD interested in? Western or English? I rode both and like both. Re: your drawers and stuffing stuff in, I'm your clone. I swear.

Katie, I've been surprised at how much I can really do with less carbs. I used to tell myself all the time that I HAD to have my carbs. I've been experimenting with that and finding out that mentally I thought I had to have them, but physically I do okay without so many. On bike rides, I'm riding without so much fuel and doing just fine and losing weight too. Something that I couldn't do before because I thought I had to have all these carbs (= calories). Everyone is different, I'm only speaking for myself.

Lea, which CC did you do today? I haven't done one in a while and miss them. Hope AF comes soon so you don't have to stay in bed much longer. Your goals for this round of P90X sound very realistic and I'm sure you will be able to reach them. Yep, keep that bikini handy as a reminder.

Wendy, by the beginning of the 2nd week, you will know what weights to use. It gets to be lots of fun trying to beat your last # of reps or weights. I found myself very competitive and would yell things out loud when I'd beat my last record of lat pulldowns or pushups. You'll see. Writing down the reps and weights is key. I remember feeling really fatigued doing PlyoX on my 3rd week. Could have been the Phase 1 eating playing in there. It's a good one and good for the lower body too. How did your DH like PlyoX today? LOL re: his a** cheeks hurting. Wait till he does Legs & Back. I never failed to have DOMS with that workout. Tony layers it on for sure.

Traci, you think I'd really like Speed Body? Who is the instructor for this one? Your DH is a sweetie to hook you up with the computer. Hope you give him a big kiss for doing that. We love being able to talk to you on the weekends. You know, while I was pushing hard on my hill climb last night, I'm thinking, hey, maybe I'm a little fatigued still from last Sunday's ride. It hurts. But when I got done and checked my time, no wonder it hurt. Pushing for more does hurt. I push myself with my riding, but don't push myself so much with the morning workouts. Like I've said before, I tend to be lazy. I did B&G Leg Blast today, wondering how my legs will be for Sunday's bike ride. When it gets closer to my time trials, I have to scrutinize my leg workouts more as I don't like to compete with fatigued legs. Re: your goals for P90X, I think they are perfectly realistic. You had super results last time and I'm sure you will get the same, if not better this time.

Got to get to bed, it's 11:20 and I need to be up early and do my Janis Kickbox DVD. After that, DH and I are taking the dogs out on the desert with our Rhino for the day. Think my brother and his son are going with us too. DH baked some chicken tonite so we can take that with us for eats. I'll bring the camera and maybe get some shots to share with you guyses.

Ta Ta,

Jeanette
