Morning Xers!
Well the Tour dialogue is making me feel like I need to start watching that sport! I just hate missng out on current events!

Woke up at 2am with major leg DOMS from Plyo Legs yesterday... Guess changing up how I use the w/o's is providing some much needed varied muscle work! }(

I had a dream last night that today was Power Hour Full Body + CTX All upper - (modifying reps) So I think I want to do that today... I'm actually excited for first time in MONTHS about taking new measurements for end of month... I have done well with my diet this month and am definitely shrinking (more in some spots than others of course!) ;-)

Personals Part 1 (look out- It’s gonna be a long winded kinda morning obviously!)

OMG- DON’T WORKOUT IN RUNNERS!!!!!!!! That expert should be shot! If you are doing Cathe w/o proper cross training or specifically designed aerobics shoes you are looking for problems- the question becomes WHEN? If your body is sensitive to that stuff everything from the waist down can be turned & torked out of place…. If you think you’re fine down the road you could have major hip alignment & feet issues. I taught aerobics years ago and I use to run distance not to long ago…. Personal experience was aches and pains from proper shoes JUST worn out- witnessed many people taken out of their exercise due to injuries where Dr said was foot/shoe related. Sorry for the lecture- I just don’t want you hurt…. As far as “experts” in any store…. I don’t completely trust anyone. What I do is go on WWW and many places have little questionnaires called “Shoe Finder” etc… I compare a few of the sites (for consistency) – I print out the common denominators in terms of STRUCTURE of shoes that are good and I take that to my “pro” at the store. The brand isn’t really important until you figure out which brand works for your foot. That’s personal…. What you look for is how the shoe is made (based on your research) …. Rykas are built GREAT for what we do but I gotta tell ya- I’ve bought at least 7 pairs in past 5 years and they simply hurt my little toes- they are too narrow for my foot. You gotta find what works for you and unfortunately short of doing a full workout with Cathe will tell you if you’ve found your right shoe…. I’d call around and see who has a nice return policy- I think Fleet Feet used to….. Sorry for the novel

LOL about Cathe vs. Christy- the BEST part about that is your body will REALLY respond to the change this month. I think it’s the best thing we can do for our bodies… Glad you are enjoying your rotation. Good Luck (not that you need it woman) with tonight’s ride! Do ya think it HELPS having the Xers sitting on your shoulder or are we just added weight?  Do you think that if you found another new hobby that involved NO COST DH would approve? LOL  I said a little prayer for Annie and am SURE she is playing happily in perfect health with all the other animals. It’s nice to know that when my Sandy goes she’s going to have all sorts of friends waiting for her. I really do tell her about all the losses so she’s not afraid. {{{{{Hugs again}}}}}

It may cost me 200.00 + cake cost but there is a way! We gotta get your business started SOMETIME and we all know that we americans eat FAR MORE cakes in a day than our Northern friends... The dolphins turned out ADORABLE! You really have found your hidden talent my friend. I cannot imagine the patience it takes to do that kind of work. Once again- I am humbled. ~TT- Yep you have the jest of it... See I saved ya 60 bucks! ~T-Nation is indeed where Amy frequents... There is some Really awesome info there if you have the patience to weed thru the testosterone crap:eek: that flys REGULARLY. I try and stay in the articles sections as the forums over there give me a headache! LOL WAAAAY to much BS to weed thru for my personal taste.

I agree totally- Thats the brunt of the program so lets just do it already! Hi all,

We got here last night about 7. Camping was out because it was pouring down rain and I decided I’d rather get the room for an extra night last night at $109, than on Saturday if we have to stay when it goes up to $179. What a rip off. The clerk in the desk even said it was a rip off. That is the one problem with this sport is that ski resort areas are always expensive. It’s still raining today.

After sitting in the car for 3-4 hours at a time, I was so stiff getting out. I think I’ll take today off, and then go see what the workout room looks like for tomorrow’s workout.

On to personals,

Traci – I am so glad that the numbers are going to be better for you this time! You have worked so hard and are so dedicated. I haven’t read the article on interval training yet, and will shortly, but there was a blurb in Oxegen that said over a 12 week period, there was no difference in BF decrease between SS running 2 or 4 miles and interval training. JMO but I think that you just have to mix it up to keep the body guessing. Plus keep down the boredom because in the end, something is always better than nothing. I was looking at T Nation. I’m so out of the loop. There was some interesting info on there. I was reading the one on rep patterns. I may have to try one of those variations.

Sandra – I finally saw the cakes. The camping one reminded me of us last week peeking out at the rain. They are so CUTE! I bet it is fun to do too. I’m still undecided on the rotation……Are you on the Eastern or Western side of Canada? We were thinking of going on vacation up through Maine and then into Canada. Any suggestions? We like the outdoors.

Jeanette – I am so sorry about your folks dog. At one point I had been through 3 vets because all had made major, not life threatening, but discomfort for the dog, mistakes. I think that they are churning out way to many vets these days. I still don’t have a great one now and I think that something is wrong with my Dobie, but the signs are subtle and I’m just not sure even where to take her. I had the aussie at a neurologist 2 summers ago for a seizure and $1500 later they couldn't figure out what was wrong.

Swifty – Get the right shoes! Years ago I worked out in basketball shoes and ruined my feet forever. It is money well spent. I always wear New Balance now and haven’t had any trouble with my feet in years. I plug NBWebexpress because you can get great deals. I’m a long time customer and they sent me a $50 gift certificate. I can wear Rykas, but I have to replace them way too frequently (every 2 months), that's why I went to NB. Ryka running shoes are not good.

Teddygirl – Are you officially doing upper X? That really wouldn’t be bad. When I do my next round of X, I will surely do modified doubles with extra Cathe legs built in. I really loved C&B. Those are my two favorite upper body parts to work. Push and pull ups are just SO effective.

Cheryl – The scale is evil, and I use the mirror, which is evil sometimes too. Diet is key to everything, no matter how much you workout. Maybe you need a drastic eating change to get you back on track.

Debra – I still have the dvd and will send it next week. I just had no time between races. If you don’t mind me asking, do you have a diagnosed stomach problem or just a sensitive one? It sounds like you could have Celiacs or something like that. We’re staying in Boone and the race is not far from here.

Laurie – Sorry about the face makeover. Any news on another dog?

Wendy – I’m happy that you are getting a new PC, and sorry, if you really won’t be around for over a week. Maybe it will come early.

I have to get everyone up and moving to breakfast so that one DS can ride and I guess me and the other DS will sit in the car, unless it clears up. Last week our shoes were wet for 4 days straight. That wasn't much fun. The ironic thing is that we are in a serious drought at home.

Later guys, oh and this is a better motel. Wireless in the room without the door open:)

Good morning!

Off to do High Step Challenge in a few minutes. I'm almost done this rotation. Tomorrow's a rest day, MM on Sat, and MIC on Sun. You can bet I'll be whining my butt off on Sun morning about having to do MIC. You may want to skip my post that day, until I've completed the workout.

TraciX - The Tour is fascinating for the same way Survivor is interesting: the informal shenanigans, more than the formal competition. The bike riding is very interesting, as there is a lot of complexity in how the riders have to work together, yet only individuals can win stages, and the entire race. And there are at least 4 races happening at the same time: the fastest overall race time (yellow jersey), King of the Mountains (polka-dot jersey), most overall points accumulated (green jersey), and best young rider (white jersey). Then there's the daily stage race. Just being the first to cross the finish line on one day of the race is highly prestigious within the cycling community. There's only 1 week left in the Tour, so you better start watching now. Are you really going to do PH AND CTX upper today?? That's a LOOOOONG workout, not to mention your upper body will be crying for mercy. Good luck with that :) Gosh, you'd really be willing to pay that much for a cake?! I could really make some money with this business! Are there more people like you?? I'll get to work figuring out how to do it! I'll take a look at T-Nation later, when I have some more time to so some wading.

NicoleX and JeanetteX - Can't say I feel bad about Rasumssun or anyone else ejected. No one forces them to do this sport, and if they aren't willing to play by the rules, they shouldn't be in the game. Apparently Rasmussun's attitude about the whole thing has been very poor, and not helped his defence.

JeanetteX - Good idea to postpone the lower body work and do the upper today. Good luck with your hill climb competition tonight!

Okay, I've got to get the workout underway. Then it's off to the university with the kids for a bit, to do some faxing of consent forms so I can do some more phone interviews later today and tomorrow.

WooHoo- Power hour completed (minus abs) Used Cathe weight levels but not her count- still want to do Upper CTX but gotta get errands run before the 3 day downpour starts later today… I had no idea how sore my legs were until I started PH today… I can hardly move, my inner thighs, quads & butt or PAINFUL! I must have gone REALLY low in the Plyo work yesterday – I just did PlyoX last week and was sore but this is ridiculous! I only did 1 set of 8 on all the PH lower.

So nice to hear you are safe and got to sleep in a nice bed last night! YES – the hotel industry is a rip off- I especially get irked when I hear that someone is paying less than I for same room/same night just because…. I am so cheap those things send me into a tizzy! Sorry about the stiffness…. Its pretty amazing how quickly it sets in even when you’re doing everything right consistently. * I really think that for results the mixing it up is key! I think that almost all the studies are done based on people starting at point A in fitness…. That’s why as you aid before – you can find ANY theory tested & documented with results to support it… I think its much more complicated for people that have YEARS of exercise under their belt… I am thoroughly enjoying primarily intervals & kick just because its time efficient and I am seeing results… I DREAS the day I gotta switch it up again as I REALLY like 30 minute cardio!! * Hope your Dobie is OK- its so hard to know what to do. Stay Dry!!!!

Big workout today for you too! My upper will be worked VERY well indeed but since I’m doing varied counts (much less than Cathe) I should be worked but not over trained (I’ll stop short of that!) What I LOVED about PH was she did the Skull Crushers! Its very effective for my Triceps – Wish she did more of those! * I am going to look for some sites for you that I KNOW ship specialty cakes… I’m SERIOUS about January

Well gang- i gotta go get those errands done- But I'm TIRED- 4 hrs sleep just didnt cut it for me today.... nap later!

TraceyX: howdy :D Yes I’m officially doing upper X will be adding a few other P90 workouts. But, mainly Cathe’s for cardio and legs work. I must admit, I do get better results with Tony workouts. I am still feeling DOMS from C&B, its all good.

TracieXX: I love putting double X’s by your name:p The bake eggplant was delic:) you started something, good stuff:9 I love adding refried beans, cheeses and eggplant on toasted English Muffin, I eat that just about every day for me lunch and it fills me right up.

Confession, I was not feeling GS legs last night, I did two sets of squats and I turned TV off. I was tired, from going to bed the other day late. I took my bath and in bed by 7pm. I feel very RESTED today, and ready to bring it when I get home tonight.

This morning, I did Low Max, had a blasts as always;) Tonight P90X Shoulders & Arm and ARX. Yeah Babe! I’m on it :D :D

I need your suggestions, since I will be doing P90X C&B and S&A once a week I need to add a full upper body too my weekly regimen, what should it be? One of Cathe’s UB, like CTX or MIS What ya think. Duh! just answered my own question Boot Camp total body. Yep! that’s it, I've been dieing to try it. I'll back.

We finally received some much needed rain this morning. Only problem is that the thunder and lightening started at 4 am. x( Just a little tired now.

Loved the blog update from Cathe. I am happy with the way she put the weight portion of these workouts together. I'm ready to start the workouts right now.

Traci, Had to LOL about the conspiracy you are doing with the cakes. I love it. :D Ok now I am scared, you have dreams about workouts! :) I see you changed the reps in Power Hour, will you do the same for CTX? Glad you could laugh with me on the facial. My nose actually still hurts a little today, if I do have a bruise on it I must have not noticed. Probably because I am usually half asleep when I put my makeup on in the morning.

Tracy, We have started the search for another dog. There are some prospects, but we are not all that excited about them. Taking our time is the best option right now. I'm sure there is one doggie out there that will be our best friend. :) Are you getting a lot of reading done while sitting in the car? Can't imagine how uncomfortable that would be. WOW! Lot's of money for the room. :(

Sandra, I feel the same way about MIC. I don't even remember the last time I actually did that one in full. I usually break it up between the Hi/Lo and step. I really don't enjoy Hi/Lo at all. :D I love the cakes you are making, the dolphins are really cute. Mmmmm buttercream frosting. Every time I have that frosting I remember my wedding cake. Glad you are enjoying your class.

Nicole, Cathe has been kicking my butt also. I have been having to pause the DVD so I can catch my breath before I go into another round. I think it is because Cathe's blast last longer than the 1 min that Tony does. I like the July rotation, because I am using a lot of the premixes. The only thing it doesn't have a lot of is weight training. But I'm testing to see if going from less cardio to more will burn some fat. :D

Debra, After Tuesdays VB I only had one visable bruise on me. And it happened to be on my hand. Don't know why either. Probably hit the ball funny.

Cheryl, Something positive must be happening if your clothes are fitting like you are 128, but scale is reading 132. Could it be muscle gain and fat loss?

Anointed, I agree with you on the P90X upper body workouts being the best. I am still surprised that I am able to do so many push-ups on my toes.

Jeanette, Good luck with the time trial today. I have not been watching the Tour, but have been hearing the updates. I find it funny that if they wouldn't do the doping then everyone is on the same footing. You win because you are in top shape, and trained the right way.

Well, aren't you ladies chatty this morning! Let's see...I really have no news except I just bumped my shin getting out of bed to answer the phone...why do people call at 9 in the morning?? Especially sales people?? I am sure I will have a monster bruise from that!

I am planning on PUB today..I am supposed to do a premix...either up or down, I can't remember...but I am just going to do the whole thing minus abs since I just did abs yesterday.

Personals...

Traci...I promise that my eating yesterday was just atrocious! I ate up until bed, too. Not good for me! I keep thinking ttom is coming, but nothing yet. I am actually too embarrassed to post what I ate yesterday. Just let me say that the Ben & Jerry's was probably the least of my transgressions. C'est la vie, though...Today is another day...and I am certain I won't eat like that today! I have an extra day of cardio this week...which will be a good thing! And aren't you productive with a workout already under your belt this morning!

Tracy...No, I don't think I have any disease...I just eat poorly and my stomach gets upset. I actually think I had a touch of food poisoning this time. Good vets are hard to find...especially when you have a dog and a cat like us...not everyone is as goo with both. Have a wonderful time in Boone...It's so pretty there! You're only about an hour and a half away from me. I'm planning on heading to the mountains this fall...probably to Asheville though...to take DD to the Biltmore house. Sorry you were feeling so stiff after your car ride...My back is always sore after a trek. Thanks for the dvd, too...whenever you get to it is fine. No hurry!

Jeanette...I did the BM2 upper body 3 times through the other day...by then end I was much lower than Cathe on weights...LOL! Wishing you luck on your hill climb tonight! I'm sure you'll d fantastic. I was talking to a guy the other night who told me about a bike store the next town over who I guess is a nationally recognized store...anyway, he said they had all kinds of info on bike clubs etc....so I am going to check out their website soon. I would love to get involved in something like that.

Well, I signed up for Leanness Lifestyle. Kind of like an online personal coach. We'll see how that goes. I've been eating clean this week... I'm almost wondering if I had maybe even gotten up to MORE than 132 and didn't know it, since I'd seen a little improvement this week... anyway, this should keep me drastically focused and on track!!! Thanks for all the ideas and support and I will definitely keep everyone posted.

Oh guys- what a day I’m having…I had gotten an email from my mom today that my Step dad (EX step dad) passed away 2 days ago… Don’t know why it hit me so hard- they have been divorced for 10 years and I certainly lost touch with him after that – he did see my sisters a lot for several years after the divorce because they all lived in Bakersfield…. He gave me away at my wedding (age 18) and was just the BEST guy in the world. My birth dad & I had a major falling out when I was 14 and were not in any communication until I was 23 yrs old… Bill became my real dad in many ways. Talk about regrets… gosh I am struggling with the ones I have right now. I am just so darned sad and cant seem to shake it…. Regrets are not something I ever want to have- blew it big time with this one. …

YEAH!!!!! – JUST GOT A SECOND EMAIL!!!… A DIFFERENT Bill Black! So I am off to locate my step dad so I don’t have any regrets!!! I feel like I’ve been given a second chance to make it right- What a gift!!!! Off to search the net!

Traci...Sending some hugs your way since you seem to need it today! I will have to check out Ask Cathe and see the post...Glad you have the chance to get in tough with your Ex Step Dad...I am sure he will be happy to hear from you. It's tough when you lose track of those people who were important in your life....Take your blessings and head on through the rest of your day, sweet woman. We would probably make great roommates since we would never see each other...LOL! Just have to say that you had a nap before I even ate for the first time today...LOL! I did blow up like a puffer fish...and I feel very yucky and doughy today...see what I get for eating really bad one day...Yuck!!

I also have to add that I just took my pooch out to poop...and it was blue! Not just speckled with blue...but through and through BLUE!!!!!!!!!! What the he!! did she eat????? Crazy dog!

I wish it were me. Sounds like Plyo Legs did it's job! Glad the headache is dwindling. I always start to feel better and forget to get a neti pot for the next bout. TracyX, Bummer about the bad weather. I wish it would rain here. I feel like I'm living in the desert. It's been very humid this week but no rain just the darn sticky feeling you get after rain:( How long are you going to be gone for? Glad you have wireless in the privacy of your own room:D

SandraX, Just watching the breasts bounce around on MIC makes mine hurt:D LOL!!! I just hate when they throw the guys out before it is confirmed that they are cheating. It makes it unfair for the poor rider if it is found later that they have done nothing wrong. In Vino's case, he was found with the blood in his system so that was a fair boot. Such hard work wasted if it is found that Rasmussen did nothing wrong:( Have fun at work!!

Anointed, Glad you are feeling rested today:) Sounds like you have a good routine worked out. I get to do BC on my current rotation too:D

DebraX, Darn sales people! I hate rushing for the phone to find out it was someone I didn't want to talk to anyways. PUB is a goodie. I get to do that one next week:)

LaurieXX, I'm so excited about the new workouts as well! I can't believe some of the Ask Cathe posts about them. People can be so dense sometimes. Cathe puts a lot of work into these workouts and to see someone bashing them before they are even released must be hard for her. At least we'll be happy to have them:D Glad you got some rain, still none here:(

Cheryl, Let us know how the Leanness Lifestyle goes. Do you do it online or is it a group thing? Did you enjoy your midweek "break"? I can't believe it's Thursday already!

JeanetteX, Read Sandra's post about my Tour update:) Have a good hill climb tonight! Good idea switching legs to tomorrow. The double set of leg raises are a killer. I know I'll have major DOMS tomorrow. I really am enjoying this rotation because I have never done so many premixes and it mixes things up a bit. Next month I will be doing the July rotation unless the new DVD's come and then I'll use Cathe's rotation for them. Wishful thinking, huh?
