Morning gang!
Sandy has tummy issues so spent last night up every 2 hours with the kids... Better get my w/o in early before I crash later this morning!:7

Not sure whats in my plan book but will get it done soon.

ETA Personals:

TeddyGirl:
I think the reason we get so much benefit from a program like X is exactly what you stated- you feel your muscles differently. I think its “magic” comes from being so totally different than Cathe’s strength work… The BEST thing about that is after 3 months of doing Tony’s way your muscles react similarly to Cathes strength work again…. CHANGE really is key for continued success. I am so happy you are enjoying the change right now. LOL on ARX! I cant tell how many times I pop in another Beach Body Abs tape! I like Debbie Seivers (sp?) ab work to.

DebraX
Thanks for getting out of bed for your first post yesterday! LOL
I wonder if all your tummy issues/sleeping late patterns are related… It could be stress considering everything going on in your life past few months. How was Pollys poop yesterday? Did ya ever figure out which smurf she ate?

LaurieXX
Cant wait to hear your thoughts on LIKM! Its fun doing all these premixes isn’t it? I think it was SandraX waaaaay back in our WW check in days that got me into those… She was always doing (& still does) some of the most creative things! Hope the cold front came thru for ya! We were suppose to drop into the 80’s with this rain front but alas all we are getting is the rain part- we are now suppose to stay in upper 90’s which means FREE SAUNA weekend!! Thanks for your words about mom- I think its heartbreaking how many people in that generation are suffering… Is it generational… Is it environmental…Is it from a lifetime of doing as you’re told? I wonder- It is just so sad tho. I have to work at never letting my pity party days get the best of me as I have a fear of it being genetic. I see how easy it is to close yourself off from the world if you so choose. Like yesterday- I got 4 calls from friends/family and didn’t answer a one… I was worn out from dealing with mom the other day and last night I thought about how I probably should have taken the calls… Today I will call EVERYONE! LOL

Cheryl
Were you CRAZY taking a rest day? How long was the dreaded fasting? Those things kill me as I LOVE to eat!!! Thanks again for email- You are THE BEST!!!! So I have a ?- What does one feel like with just TWO WEEKS before her first Cathe R/T?????

NicoleX
YOWZA on your scheduled w/o yesterday…. I’ve only done that mix 1x and was FRIED! Who would have thought! I actually also did that same concept with BM1 once and was equally if not more so fried! LOL *** I spent all my life as VERY blonde and haven’t wanted that for several years… The assistant just got carried away after the highlights were in- & I should have said something… OH WELL- 5 weeks from now who will remember – except that I HAVE to take those darn pics! LOL

SwiftyX
Glad to see you are doing well!

AMY- WHERE ARE YOU???????????????????

TracyX
Happy race day!!!!!!!!!! Good luck to DS!!!

HAPPY DAY TO ALL! Hope DH takes lots of naps or hits the fishing shops so I can return!!!!

Morning:7

Tracey you are a early bird:) I have been up since 4:15 x( just laying there watching my two favorite programs.

I'm off to do legs & Glutes ttyl:9. No extreme, I don't have time going to Church this morning with my sister:7

Hi all,

Yesterday I did 50 minutes on the elliptical. I was drenched. That thing really works the glute muscles. I usually let go of the handles for short periods and that engages the core too. I think I’ll ride the stationary bike today. We’re camping tonight, and driving home tomorrow, so tomorrow is a rest day.

Traci – Thanks for the link. I’m going to check it out later. I think that you will like the 2 day split with an additional upper body workout. It pushes you just enough on that final workout to maximize, or as Cathe says, a finisher. I think that is what is so good about the X, you are sometimes pushed when you don’t feel like really doing anything and there is when the gains occur. I’ve seen strength gains, and I feel like they are good gains because I’m doing very controlled reps with Cathe vs the X type reps that can be sometimes a little out of control.

Cheryl – What do you have planned for today?

Nicole – I’ve found the yoga to be very addictive. It definitely helps to center me. I miss it on vacation when I don’t have time to do it. Plus it is so good for you.

Debra – Sorry you are not feeling well. I’m assuming DD took a horseback riding lesson? I used to ride years ago. It is a great activity for kids.

Sandra – Busy, busy, I don’t know how you do it! Although I loved it when the kids were small, there is something nice about them gaining independence.

Annointed – GS legs is my favorite leg workout. I know people have raved about BBC, but I didn’t buy it. I’m so rarely satisfied when I stray from Cathe, and then it is just money wasted. I do like Tony though. I hope that the new workouts come out before I start another X rotation.

Laurie – I probably couldn’t do the IMAX3 blast premix right now either. Unless you do it all of the time, it’s just not something I can pick up and do on a whim.

Jeanette – I hope all is well and check in when you can.

Happy Saturday to all who follow.

Tracy

Good morning,

Today I'm supposed to do Muscle Max. I'm going to get to that, but first I think I'll take advantage of it being Saturday, and do the workout mid-morning, while DH is home to deal with the kids. I'm going to knead up some bread today, instead. Our neighbours are taking our kids for a couple hours tonight, so DH and I can go out to dinner and properly celebrate our anniversary. Yay!!!

I think I've settled on a rotation for next month, starting this Monday, but I haven't worked out the details yet. I may still change my mind. But this is the plan so far. I'm going to do Cathe's July '07 rotation, which has shorter workouts from her most fun workouts (not an MIC in sight LOL!). Then I'm going to add on one of the six routines from Shiva Rea's Fluid Power yoga dvd. This will be a complete change from anything I've done before, and I'm very excited about it. I love Shiva's yoga. After the first week, I'll re-evaluate and decide whether to continue with the Fluid Power routines for the whole month, or change it up with routines from Yoga Shakti and PY4H. I was leaning towards doing short, high-intensity cardio and heavy weights for next month, but this is appealing to me more right now. I feel like I'm losing my arm definition, but then I look at Shiva's arms and think: well, the yoga isn't going to make them fat! Especially if I can get better at all her arms balances. I know a key to those is in the core, and lifting through the pelvic floor, which is a weakness of mine, so perhaps I'll see needed benefits in both aspects.

Enough about me. Oh! Forgot to say: yesterday I did 65 mins of Yoga Shakti, loosely based on the mish mosh TracyX suggested to TraciX. Loved it, of course.

TraciX - If I could give you a standing ovation, I would. You struggle with many challenges, yet you continue to progress and more forward. I'm sorry your mother, who all the Hallmark cards tell us should be there to support us and provide guidance and nurturing, seems to require that from you, instead. I had an aunt who was m/d, and saw the devastation that her family went through. She committed suicide at the age of 41, and her daughter found her body. I can't imagine the trauma of that. I don't know what the straw was that broke the camel's back, but I remember visiting her in the hospital not long before and she just seemed exhausted. Completely empty. It was very sad. So (((((((hugs))))))) to you for all you do. I'm not surprised you've stopped your volunteer work. When the universe is giving you a sign, you're wise to take it! Oh, you asked y-day about my research? I'm doing a project contracted by the provincial government on Temporary Foreign Workers in Alberta. TFWs are the official name used, so I'm not trying to be culturally insensitive by calling them "foreign" (although it sounds perjorative). "International" sounds a bit more neutral and I'll probably suggest that in my report. After all, issues of racism and bigotry are one of the problems I'm hearing about with this program! Anyhoo, to get back to the project: TFWs are people who are actively recruited from other countries by employers seeking labour. We have a critical labour shortage in Alberta, with the result that employers are feeling the need to go out of the country and actively bring back people to fill the positions. They are everything from unskilled labour to the highest level of skilled positions. Their work permit allows them to come to the country for a few months, and simply work for the employer who has brought them in. Then they are expected to go back home. There are so many problems with this program, I won't even begin. Okay, I'll begin a little bit :) The workers have almost zero employment rights, the employers are not obligated to provide them *anything*, even the job they were "promised" in their home country, and many of these people are being told that this is a way to circumvent the immigration process and become a permanent resident in Canada. So, they are willing to put up with almost anything to take part. The abuses and exploitation that are occurring are shocking for a country like Canada. Mind you, there are some amazing corporations that are doing wonderful things with the TFWs they're bringing in, but the point is that this level of humane treatment is given purely on the benevolence of the employer. The ones abusing the program and exploiting the people are not answerable to anyone for what they're doing. My job is to talk to various people related to the TFW program, and write a report that creates a "picture" of the situation, so the government can try to take some control over it. Right now, it's being completely run by the companies. So there you go. Are you glad you asked? :)

Okay, now I got long-winded and I'm out of time for the rest of personals. Gotta get the bread started or I won't have it done in time to go out later today.

Maybe I'll get back here later on. I have a surprisingly short "to-do" list this weekend, and I'm delighted.

Oh, on the mish-most front, TraciX (since you mentioned it to LaurieXX), I'm thinking of subbing MIC tomorrow (Yes, you read right...I might sub!!!!) with Circuit Max followed by 10-10-10. Cathe put that together as an MIC alternative in one of her old rotations that I'd done, and I remember thinking it was a genius combo that felt as hard as MIC. And I haven't done either of those workouts in ages. So, that might be what I do tomorrow.

Have great workouts everyone!
SandraX

Hello Everyone:) ;-)

I made it though L&G and BB 7 minute ab routine. I'm in a hurry as usuallyx( on my way to a 10am church semiar with my sister. I will check back later.

CTX Kick completed – I had totally forgotten how DRILL intensive that one was… PERFECT! My arms/back got a fabulous burn – I did the jump rope section but when Cathe started the extra cardio stuff I went back and did more drills as that was my main focus today. Just a GREAT KB W/O!

Today was first morning I could actually walk/sit and not be in pain from WEDNESDAY”S Plyo Legs! WOWZY! My inner thighs still are sore but I only felt that when I was doing kick drills. I guess I need to pull out Plyo Legs more often!

ΨTeddyGirl: Hope L&G gets in there REAL good! You deserve a nice burn! CONGRATS on finishing all that + abs this morning!!

ΨTracyX: Well isn’t it nice having perky booty today! I’m excited to start the 2-day + rotation…. I haven’t done one like that before and using some of the DVDs together like you suggested looks like it will be different enough to keep my attention… I’m also happy I’ll get to blow the dust off my circuit collection… That’s all I did w/ Cathe for so long that I needed a loooooong break from them!

ΨSandraX
How totally cool you and DH get a real anniversary night out! YEAHHHHHH! Hope MM is good for ya – don’t pull any major muscle groups OK- DH will be mad! Hehehe FABULOUS Rotation plan woman! Now that’s something even I could do! You are so right about Shivas arms (& back)- You wont gain fat at all! So heres the deal… (always a deal w/ me right?)… We all KNOW that TracyX has a body type that responded to yoga so enviously… You are different body type I think so lets see what it does for you…No pressure- just the whole world watching your every move in August! WOW – Your project sounds quite intense AND most impressive! Getting ANY govt project in US is really challenging if you aren’t a big business with the governments ear… I cannot imagine taking on such a project… as dumb as this is going to sound- You must be VERY VERY INTELLIGENT – seriously- I think you are one of those women that “in person” I would be intimidated as all hell by….. I am always amazed & in awe of such a high level of intelligence. You got in the right line at birth time for sure! Your TFW program sounds like it has many similarities to our foreign workers. Some are working for wonderful people who truly believe they are lending a helping hand- other business’s traet them worse than any human or animal should ever be treated. Growing up in Central California where 50% of workforce was crop workers- it was just horrid what they did to people as they aged and could no longer “produce”. It was and in some cases still is as bad as slavery in the south was. I do hope your research doesn’t fall on deaf ears… What a worthy cause. CM + CTX = NUT JOB! But Enjoy it anyway!!!! LOL

Off to get rid of the stinkies and do something productive- What? I have no clue! ha
:7 :+ :7 :+ :7 :+

Hi all,

I rode the stationary bicycle for 50 minutes and then did some push ups. I'm so hungry after I do that cardio. I'm going to have to rethink my eating, and I'll pick you guys' brains next week.

Sandra - I think that you will see great results from the rotation you are planning. Doing the yoga every day is the key to really being able to work the poses and get the maximum benefit. Shiva is especially good at reminding you about lifting through the belly and bouancy in the pelvis which are so key to functional fitness and strength. I rotated PY4H, Shiva and Kest and saw great upper body improvements.

Traci - Combining the shorter upper body routines is fun and deceptively challenging. It's a nice twist on some old favorites.

Annointed - Have fun at church, glad the workout is done.

Tracy

Hi there ladies! I ended up doing Kenpo yesterday...or at least a good chunk of it..I left out the beginning warm up stuff...and then I did 35 minutes of the rest of the drills...and then I did a mish mosh of PY4H...mostly hip openers and abs. All in all a good workout and I definitely felt better after it was complete. I also used the music and cues only on the Kenpo which was the first time I had done that which really worked out well for me. Didn't have to listen to all the chatter...and I know that one so well now, I don't need a lot of direction.

I am not quite sure what I am going to do today. I don't know why I am not feeling the love for the rotation I started...but I think a couple of days with other instructors will give me the boost I need. So I am thinking I will do Squeeze today...Upper plus lower...then pilates tomorrow...and then hopefully back on track on Monday with the rest of my rotation.

I'm sorry...but no time for personals right now...Going to meet my mom for a little lunch..and just a tiny bit of shopping...I'll bbl this afternoon to catch up with everyone's posts. Traci and Sandra wrote a couple of books that will take some time to answer!

kisses to all!

Hi, everyone!
Slept in late - needed it, I think - and am in the mood for something really hard. Doing DrillMax plus some TM running, I think - but paused here first to check in on my friends.

Traci, I am so excited about the Road Trip, even though I won't be arriving there as the lean, mean workout machine I'd hoped that I would. I'm proud of my progress, but I'm still a work in progress, it seems. That's okay. I'm going to enjoy it to the fullest. Thanks for all of your good vibes, gal! {{{{{{{{{{hug}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Wow, Plyo legs must have really toasted you, girl! I may have to give that one another chance. How does it compare to Plyometrics, do you think? (which I have but I haven't tried out).

Teddygirl, enjoy those Legs and Glutes! Good choice! Especially those sit-n-stands! x(

Tracy, enjoy the elliptical--oops! Sounds like the stationary bicycle won out. Sounds just right. Cardio makes me hungry, too. We'll attack this challenge together, eh??

Laurie, an IMAX3 blast only premix????? Oooooh ... makes me shake just to think about it. I need the whole workout to just plunder through those blasts as they get there the best that I can. I am bowing in reverence, dear friend.

Sandra, good choice on MuscleMax. Love it, love it, love it. Enjoy!

Debra, enjoy the shopping with your mom. That sounds like a wonderful plan. Will enjoy hearing later how it comes out.

Nicole, love that LIC Cardio Blast Timesaver! Great choice! You will smile all the way through. Now you have me tempted - I may sub that in for the TM. We'll see.

Have a great Saturday, everyone!!

Cheryl

Back to say hello....Got DD a rock tumbling machine at the Hobby Lobby...She loves to gather and collect rocks...anyhoo...boy, is this machine loud! And it has to run for 2-4 days at a time! I don't think I knew what I was getting into with that!

a few personals...

Cheryl...Glad you got that extra sleep. Now you are going to rock with DM plus a run! You go girl! I think we are all works in progress. I don't know a single woman who is completely happy with her shape, weight, and/or musculature. We all struggle every day to do our best with diet and exercise...and then of course, one day off the wagon can throw us in a tailspin! I know you will reach your goals!

Nicole...Have fun with LIC...did that one last week and really enjoyed it. How much more do you have to clean woman? Oh...I forgot you live with 4 men. No wonder!

Tracy...Have fun camping out tonight...Hope the weather holds for you. It's pretty hot here today..again. I am just not an outdoorsy kind of gal. Absolutely no interest in camping! Yes...DD had her horseback riding lesson and it went well. I like that it is such an athletic sport...that's good for DD since she doesn't do too much else that is that athletic.

TG...You crazy woman...tell that crazy body of yours to go back to sleep...No one should be up at 4 am! Glad you enjoyed L&G. Have fun at church with your sis!

Okay...gotta run again...bbl to catch up with everyone else....Where is Amy?????

Hi Everyone :)

Me Back :) and I am tired, man! I really ENJOYED the entire program at Open Door Missionary Baptist Church lonngg service, but so need to hear the messages. Lunch was good they served roast and turkey sandwich, salad, pop and desserts over did dessert but its' all good, I think:) x(

I'm now having a cup of coffee about to lay down and rest a bit, }( :p }( am Glad everyone is okay, I will be back later need a nap big time.

Back again...with my nap completed...and I have to say, I really feel much better...How could my body possibly be tired with all of the sleep I get at night?!?

I have to tell you guys about our little mini mules again...We went by yesterday with a bag of carrots and the all came to the fence to eat them out of our hands. They were so cute!! And very sweet too...although I did get a bit of mule spit on me...We washed our hands like crazy when we came home. I am going to keep extra veggies in the car so that we can see them once a week or so.

more personals...

Sandra...Yeah on getting a date night with DH for your anniversary! How is the bread making going? I really wish I had you as a neighbor so that I could take all of your hard work to my DD's school and pass it off as my own! I like the sound of your upcoming rotation...I will be curious to hear how you feel doing yoga everyday. The heavy weights and cardio will still be there for you next month. Sometimes, I think I could do yoga and pilates solely as my workouts...but I know I need some cardio and weights added in. Your research project sounds very interesting. How many other people are working on this, or are you the only one? How long do you have to do your evaluation and how is it presented to the government when you are done?

Traci...Well, I hope that Sandy didn't eat a smurf too! Is she better today? Glad you enjoyed CTX KB...I always liked that one too! It wouldn't surprise me if my tummy issues were due to stress...I also have not started ttom yet...I am pretty irregular now and I have been equating all traumas to that lately! It is certainly easy to get closed off to the world...I go through phases too where I don't want to talk to anyone...especially if I don't want to explain the newest development in my life. Sometimes it's just easier to talk to people you talk to all the time so that you don't have to explain yourself as much. LOL about your plyo legs...glad you can pee today without dreading having to go!

I think I am pretty caught up now. I am certainly less cranky than I was before my nap...I am planning on heading up to do Squeeze now...and finish unpacking in the guest bedroom...And even hang some more pictures tonight!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Good Evening Ladies,

Just finished reading Saturday's post. I thought I should post before my mind gets too overloaded with information. Also, I'm using neighbor's 10 year old son's computer which is located in his bedroom, and it's 10:21. I'm sure he, I mean, his mother wouldd like him to get to bed soon!!!!}(

Real Quick!!!!

Good News:
My computer shipped yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!

Bad News:
I'm leaving for State College Monday night and not due to return till late Wednesday evening. Hopefully, the driver will read my personal plea to have my neighbor sign for me.

Personals!!!!

Jeanette-X: I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't do as well as expected on your hill climb. I assume that's what happened since I haven't read Friday's personals. (slooooow computer, beggars can't be choosers!!!!) HUGS!!!!!!!!! It'll be alright. Today is a new day and you have new tile!!!!:)

Traci-X: Okay, I think I understand what happened.... You thought your stepdad expired (new word the hospice nurse used in my presence), but he's still fresh and remarried to a spoiled wife, and your mother is depressed about this??? I don't think any of us ladies suffer from too little drama in our lives!!!! Hope your ex-stepdad appreciates you thinking of him and sending him a belated birthday card.

Times almost up!!!

Tracy-X: Now what did I miss over on the Ask Cathe board? LOL on your boys' description of your extreme interest in fitness.

Sandra-X: Now, really. Do I seem like a lurker type to you? I'm much too opinionated to keep my fingers still!!!;-)

Nicole-X: What's up with you!!! Slow down!!! Take a breather!!! Or at least get this doubles thing outta your system by Thursday. Chat with me when I get back!!!

Amy: Where are you? What are you doing? I know it's not yard work! Your inlaws got that covered!!! Are you catching up on your sleep? Eating a bowl of chili for breakfast? Painting your toenails with little dumbbells for the RT? ;-)

Cheryl-X: What's this I hear about water weight and fasting? Stay hydrated!

Amy-X (formerly known as SwiftAmy): You are such a sweetie! I can't wait to meet you on the RT. You might not have a lot of girlfriends to chat with, but these ladies are the best!!!!

Debra-X: Your dog is pooping blue turds? Ewwwww!!!! Your dd is learning how to ride horses! How Cool is that! LOL on having her do wall squats!!!

LaurieXX: LOL on the I Love You But... letters!!!! OMW, I think that's a wonderful idea. Seriously, I could see it now. I could send them to all the people who I think needs perfecting starting with me!!! Ha-Ha

OH! Y'all would be so proud of me. I started working out again. Did half of Power Hour before I said ENOUGH ALREADY and laid down in a pool of sweat. Found out later that it was Day One of TTOM. Boy, was I glad I had an excuse!!!!! Yesterday, I did LIC. It was the first time I did it with the weights. Can I say that I HATE those pulsing one legged squats!!! Where does she come up with this stuff!!!!!

I still have to workout tonight before bed. It's PY4H's Quickie.

Y'all stay sweet till I return! Won't have time to read today's posts. My gf's son just turned off the bedroom light!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!!!!
