Good evening!
Didn't have time to post this morning. Did my Janis Saffel Kickbox workout today and really enjoyed it. I'm really surprised that the B&G Leg Blast premix didn't leave me sore at all. Hmmm, even firewalkers didn't do anything. I've been doing lots of squats and lunges with Slim Series so maybe that's why. Anyways, the kickboxing was a good workout, not too hard, not too easy. You know me, I'm no intensity junkie.
DH, my brother and my nephew and I had a nice trip to the desert. It was dusty, dusty, dusty! I took some pictures and will try to upload them to my Picture Trail later. We were all really gritty when we got back. Part of the problem is we have a half windshield on the Rhino that is great for cold weather (blocks the wind), but also keeps in the dust and creates a vacuum. It's coming off real soon like. Helped DH clean the Rhino up when we got back, changed the air filter too that was REALLY clogged up. I did most of the driving today for a change and enjoyed it. Need to work on the bike club newsletter tonite after I get done posting here. Anyway, a really nice day and not a speck of housework done except loading the dishwasher. Tomorrow is a club bike ride. Supposed to be windy in the afternoon but hopefully we will be done by then.
Sandra, I think the way you will be doing the X is great. I think if I do it again soon, I will do it like you are doing. I'm all for the fun factor in these workouts. I cut up my bananas into small pieces and put them in the hot oatmeal. Had that this morning and it was yummy, also added cinnamon and nutmeg too. I'm staying away from buying craisins. Those are great in oatmeal too. I swear, I could eat oatmeal every meal and snack of the day. I swear. I'm sending out good vibes to you that it's not a cold you have, but allergies.
Traci, hope your birthday yesterday was absolutely wonderful! Cupcakes was the way to go if you were watching the sweets, unless of course, you might have had a multitude of them. Did you get any special stuff for your birthday? I'll have to do a search for Speed Body comments from Lorajc. She's got just about every workout known to man, next is you. Janis was good today. I have to get past the red pants and red walls. Cathe has us so spoiled. It did remind me of KenpoX intensity, which I like. There will be much room for improvement for me, especially with those roundhouse kicks and double kicks.
Lea, I think I hear a lot of people say how tough CC#4 is. I've done it once and it was tough. I like #3 with the sprints and I did #5 once and it was a lot of fun and a little longer. Loved it on my bike. So BM2 Bootcamp is tough, huh? You're tough too!! Anyone that can fix a toilet is A-OK in my book and tough!
Debra, dang it, for the dog hurting your wrist. You sure didn't need that. Hope it doesn't set you back. Way to go on getting your drawers organized. I sure need to do that. Manana. Okay, English and Western riding. Of course the saddle is different. When you see people jumping on TV (like in the Olympics going over big tall jumps), that is English riding. When you see rodeo riders (barrel racers, calf ropers, cutting horses), that is Western riding. I've done both, but spent a long time doing English riding, jumping, foxhunting, dressage (think Lipizzan horses). Personally, I enjoyed the technical aspects of English riding more. However, I really enjoyed working cattle and you usually do that western style. Western riding has a longer leg under you and you ride more off of your butt, while English riding (especially hunt seat) you ride more off of your crotch. Don't know if this helps or not. You might ask your daughter what she likes. A lot of kids and adults show their horses and ride both English and Western style within a single show. Oh yeah, enjoy the flea market tomorrow. That sounds like fun.
Wendy, that's funny about your DH and Ab Ripper X. My DH moaned and groaned all the way thru it the first time he did it, I mean like it was really, really painful. Your DH will get better at PlyoX. Now he knows what it's like. Mentally, the first time I do a workout it is tougher. Gets better from there.
Tracy, hope you find someone to help with your pirif... Ouch! I'm thinking a physical therapist could help with that. Thanks for the info on injuries. I've been knocking on wood for a long time now...
DH is taking a shower now and will be giving the dogs each a shower too. I have to go dry them off when he finishes them. The German Shorthair doesn't mind the shower, but the dachshund goes and hides under the couch.
