X'ers Movin' & Groovin' Saturday

Hi all,

Round 2, Phase 2, Week 5, Day 5 - Legs & Back, AbX

I got my workout in today and really enjoyed it. No, I didn't do Legs & Back. I did Tracey Staehle's Glute Camp with Abs. I warmed up and then just as I was getting into it, the phone rang - the Dell technician. After being on the phone for about 30 minutes, I resumed my workout. After every leg exercise, I did my back work on the Bowflex. Tracey worked my legs in different ways in this one, standing and floor work. I was burning during the floor work. Enjoyable workout!

After that, I showered and found out that DS and GF were on their way over from Reno to visit and pick up her son. I hurriedly did dishes, a little pickup of stuff, swept and mopped the floor and threw the used bedding from my sister's visit into the washer. Have had an enjoyable time with them. They are leaving in the morning. Right now, they are watching The Bourne Supremacy. We just got done watching Evan Almighty. That was a good one! Well, maybe I'll get the tree down and decorations put away tomorrow.

Traci, I didn't know that Sandy was a prison pooch. What a wonderful life you gave her and she you. I was right, DH did go out and clean the dish off. Hey, I wasn't watching the TV, just sitting in front of it typing on my laptop. Didn't matter to me whether it was on or off. LOL. I'm going to try to get the picture of Tillie in her candy cane suit on here tomorrow. Good for you for doing something different with L&B. My workout was a burner today. More so than if I'd done L&B the usual way I'm sure. I just have to keep shaking it up. Did you get your run in today?

Lea, it snowed most of the morning here in northeastern California. We have about 5 inches on the ground right now. It's pretty now, but I'll probably be sick of it by the end of next week. I heard we will get rain next week so it may be washed away. PlyoX has no allure for me at all. I would sub a run too and I'm not a runner.

Wendy, glad you had a nice time at the restaurant. Wonder how your sis will like Thailand. Size 1 & 3 jeans? You tiny thing you! What goes on at the State College? I've never figured that out yet so please enlighten me. Did you call the store manager about the clerk? I am almost always very pleasant during the initial encounter. However, if I get a snotty comment back or something I perceive as disrespectful or inappropriate, I'm all over it. Must be my old age. That checker at Safeway had to say "this is the 15 item express lane". I might have had like 17 items, big rip. I had to say "It's not like there is anyone waiting behind me". Normally, most of the checkers will wave you in even if you have more than 15 items. This kid checker then said, "oh, I see they are big items (large toilet paper, 12 pack of beer), I thought you had more". Kids!!! I ended up being overcharged for 3 items ($20 some dollars) that I hadn't even bought. I checked my tape when I got home and went back to the store today to get my money back. I was prepared to throw a fit, but didn't have to, thank goodness. Must be TTOM for me, I sound like such a bit**. If you are interested in the link to the chai tea, it is below in Sandra's personal.

Tracy, Jackson Hole sounds wonderful!!!! I was talking to DS's GF and we are planning a day of skiing and spa day in February. Let us know about the disc. I may have to get something like that. 50 days until TTOM started for you? Is this perimenopause for you and will the days get further and further apart until menopause starts? Tomorrow will be cardio for me so I'm going to do some of my new Amy and some of my new Christi. Boohoo, no cycling tomorrow. I was going to buy some X-Country ski wax stuff but the store was closed by the time I thought of it. Good job with Chest and Back today! You are tough, tough, tough!

Sandra, I'm thinking I did get charged for the person ahead or behind me. Not sure how that happened at all, but I will pay closer attention in the future. Got my money back so all's well there. Here is the link to the recipe for the chai tea:

I made it tonite with water and a little bit of milk. It was great. LOL about the dog toy for your DD. Our dogs took my niece's stuffed bear the other day, thinking it was their toy to play with. I had to return the bear to her a little bit rumpled and matted, but no other damage done. My DH and I did some snowshoeing a few years ago. I had to carry the beer to get him to go with me. Just kidding. It's much easier to snowshoe on firm snow or icy snow, but much noisier. The last couple times I went, I was by myself and thinking about mountain lions and whether they were licking their chops as they watched me. Skeered myself! Too funny about your DD's fitness class! What a wonderful example you are to them. Did you get a picture or video of it? That would be priceless! How's your DH doing with P90? Any new yoga for him? No, I didn't have to endure Dreya's endless moaning today. Tracey Staehle was a nice change. What kind of place is "The Keg"? Hope you and DH had a wonderful dinner.

Debra, hope you spent a nice afternoon with your CB. Sounds like it's getting pretty serious? You have to share the computer with your DD? I'm so spoiled and glad that I don't have to share mine with anyone else. I have offered to show DH how to check the weather. I'd make sure I made it so difficult that he'd never try again.

Kim, sorry to hear the calf is still bothering you. I remember Teddygirl having a calf problem at one time too. Maybe she can chime in with what worked for her. I used to X-C ski a little, but about 4 or 5 years ago I went skiing and my knee hurt really badly. I've been hesitant to try again but think I will if this snow sticks around. I'm located in northeastern California. Our elevation is 4,200' so yes, we get snow and it gets cold. It's on the edge of forest and desert land so it's dry. It can be sunny all right, sunny and cold.

Carol, nice to hear you had a good workout with KenpoX. Did you get that tree down today? Hope you warm up. Sometimes it has to snow for us to get warmer weather.

Laurie, the walk with the dog sounds nice. How was the party?

Nicole, sounds like you have a flu bug. Hope you are getting some rest and plenty of fluids.

Got to run, looking forward to tomorrow's cardio session.

Good morning ladies,
I am new to this board. I have been doing Cathe's workout for a few years and while reading some of the boards I heard about P90X. So I did a search, found the site, read about the workouts and the rest is history...
I ordered P90X late fall and both DH and I started the program December 1st. DH however had to restart again as we live in Luxembourg and he has to travel very frequently both within Europe and in the USA. While traveling he cought a bug that put him down for almost a week.
I must say I've never experienced something like this program, I don't know if it's the structure or what but it's working. So far I've lost 2 inches off my waist and 2%BF, which I've never managed to change before. I must say though that we are following the diet pretty closely. The holidays were a challenge but we managed not to gain anything at all.
I am now (or was)in Phase 2, Week 2, Day 2. HOWEVER... yesterday was CST and during my first set of push-ups I pulled a muscle in my neck. I have an old shoulder injury and sometimes struggle with my push-ups. Yesterday I sensed my right shoulder was not quite able to push me back put I pressed on and pulled a muscle alongside the neck. I managed to finished the workout but surely put more strain on the muscle. By the end the pain was so bad I did not do Ab X. I iced the area after and tried to take it easy. Now the problem is those intermitent muscle spasms that just radiate terrible pain. I will obviously skip today's workout and I am hopeful this will go away in the next few days. I would hate to have to start the program all over again! I might have to substitute various chest press exercises on the Bowflex instead of push-ups as they do not put as much pressure on the shoulders. I was warned that I might injure myself more seriously but the pride of doing push-ups took ever me...
I will be checking this board on a regular basis as I feel it's a great support group.
Meanwhile Happy New Year to all and have a great P90X experience.
