Xers - - - Move & Groove Monday

Hi all...back for a bit before I have to pick up the diva from dance. I am going to try to talk her into Chinese food take out tonight...I have a sudden craving for Moo Goo Gai Pan!! Let's see...I really got a bunch of nothing done today....but I have a head start on Christmas shopping...and I am pretty much done with all non family members...except CB...and I have NO idea what to get him!! I think I folded one load of laundry today. And I did some meditation with Eoin and then I did Jonathon Urla's Yogilates II which I hadn't done in a really long time. I felt like working out in my pjs (Sandra and Traci!) and that was just the way to go. I will be doing Cathe's 4DSKB and legs and core tomorrow. My upper back is still pretty tight from yesterday's workout...and I went to another masseuse who was not as good as my first gal...who has inexplicably moved away! So...I will keep trying new folks until I find one who I like.

Okay...time for a few personals....

Sandra....Glad to see you fly by on your way to serve your country. Sorry the sleep over ended in illness. That is never good...Hope that is not what you baby has! Are you really thinking about Round 2 of the X...I am with you...I simply can't take Tony on a daily basis. I will be interested to hear what Traci says.

Traci...Thanks so much for the Amy info!! I printed it out so that I can have it in front of me when I start her Slo Mo next week. Glad you listened and took it easy on yourself today. Sorry no yoga...but there is always tomorrow! I will try to drink water during my meditations...will that be okay??? Or maybe a nice glass of Chianti?

Laurie...Waving to you and your newly cleaned pooch!

Nicole...So glad you are having a wonderful reunion with your hubby!

Teddygirl...I am sure you will get that workout in this evening.

Wendy...I would love to listen to Bryan lecture...My mind would wander in all sorts of places, I'm sure! Well, at least you only have birds and no flying monkeys around your house.

Lea...Just picturing you and DH in down dog together!

Carol...Waving as you fly by!

Okay...gotta run for now...The diva will be tapping her little foot if I am late....Please keep your fingers crossed that she is a go for the Chinese!!

Debra

So I did end up with the LIS/HIS cardio premix today :D It was fun, I love stepping. The transition between the 2 sections was a bit abrupt, but the workout was great!

Swifty -- Day 82??? That's great! You're so close to the end now!

Tracy -- $1000 for 10 people? :-O That's a lot of food!!

Traci-X -- How's the shoulder holding up with the UB work?

Wendy -- Did you do any of the SWI for IEW? Inquiring minds want to know ;-) Are you getting psyched up (ha ha) for your trip?

Debra -- Good for you getting a head start on Xmas shopping! I'm not there yet, lol.

Hi to everyone else!! I hope you all have had a great day!

Carol

Hi Carol,

We have SWI-A. Eldest dd started it last year, but never finished it. I was planning on having her finish it after we got back from Thailand. She enjoyed the part that she did do though. You can do it without having the main dvds (TWSS) depsite what others may say. I swear! Sometimes people think that they can't think on their own! LOL Andrew Pudewa breathes so much life into his lessons! If a child can understand what is being taught, so should his/her mother. Anyhow... What else would you like to know about them? BTW, I still have an extra IEW History Based Writing lesson book here. You are more than welcome to it for free if you want it. Just email your address if you're interested in it.

Okay Ladies, I've got more shopping and errands to do tonight. I blame my bf for talking to me forever on the phone this afternoon! I still haven't looked at the November rotation yet.

BBL, hopefully!!!!

Wendy

Hi all,

Today I made my own cardio and weights using LIS and doing a C&W weight segment in between each step segment, adding in 2 sets of WG pull ups and 33 unassisted chin ups. The arms were pumped and it was a nice workout. Then I did the new Shiva again, and it felt WONDERFUL. It is slower and probably harder than it seems, but it sure makes me feel GREAT, can you tell? For anyone who wants to spend more money, the dvd is Great Instructors Yoga Journal, Live at the San Francisco Conference, Shiva Rea, Free Flow Vinyasa. It is a hip opening practice and nothing like magically hips, yet far more effective.

Traci - Glad to see you have yoga on tap for tomorrow, you will not regret it. How did today's workout go? I am with you on the money. Even if I had a lot, which I probably never will, I wouldn't spend it frivolously, but I guess you are only married for 50 years once in a lifetime, and it was a very enjoyable evening. DH said this morning that he doesn't want to eat out anymore. His philosophy was to eat everything in sight, mine was to be very careful. I actually was hungry an hour after we got home.

Sandra - I'm with you on the X. If I do another round, which I'm contemplating. I will not do X leg work. It didn't do anything for me.

Wendy - Glad to see you are still around, I guess I was mistaken thinking you had already left.

Debra - Finished shopping already? You lucky duck!

TG - Howdy!

Carol - Glad you are back, and going for the X again. I'll be cheering you all on.

Sorry if I missed anyone, I'm working from memory.

Dinner is calling.

Tracy

Hi all....just back to say good night. Hope everyone has had a full and productive day. I did get my Moo Goo Gai Pan...and a lot of other unmentionables!

...Tracy...Thanks so much for the info on Shiva...I went right over to Amazon and ordered it! 33 unassisted pull ups? You must be made of steel! I'm not quite finished with my shopping...but I am pretty darn close...which is a good thing, for sure. I have some little things for my mom and I don't know what big to get for her...since she buys pretty much whatever she needs anyway. A couple of more things for DD from Santa...and CB...And I guess I have to take DD shopping for XDH. What could be more fun than that??

....Carol...Glad you enjoyed your premix today. I just don't like to do long cardio anymore...I guess it is just the inherently lazy person who resides inside me!

...Wendy...What kind of shopping do you need to do tonight?? Could it be for some more workout clothes...or maybe some high heeled boots??

I'm gone for now, sweet women...going to finish up my movie..and get psyched to pay bills tomorrow..and maybe even get another load of laundry folded.

Good evening,
Don't think I posted yesterday. Yesterday I did the group bike ride. Only 4 of us, but it was a nice ride. 28 miles. Afterwards, finished stacking all the wood and then helped DH clean up and burn a bunch of bark. The fire was nice. The stars were out and I brought my lawn chair out next to the bonfire. Loved the coals. DH brought out some chicken dogs to roast over the fire. I just sat there with my coffee and enjoyed the evening, with Tillie sitting inside my jacket.

Today was Cardio & Weights compound weights premix and abs. After that was a golf lesson and then 9 holes of golf. That went well and I feel like my swing is better. Had a good time golfing. I'm really looking forward to golfing with some girlfriends of mine next season. Hoping I will be improved enough next year. Afterwards, got a little grocery shopping in, ate dinner, took a nap and now on the computer. Not a real productive work day, but hey. Back to work tomorrow, and I think it will be a busy, busy week.

Tracy, no day off from work for you for Veterans Day? Our banks and schools were all closed. Hope everyone had a nice time around the expensive dinner table. I wish food wasn't that important for me. Delicious food get-togethers and family go hand in hand for our bunch. I absolutely love when our big family goes out to a nice restaurant. There is a nice restaurant on the edge of a beautiful lake nearby. It's so relaxing. For DH's 50th birthday, I invited the big bunch and paid for all of them. We ate outside on the deck overlooking the lake. We all loved it. I told DH that's what I want for my 50th birthday next year. However, my birthday is in November and the restaurant is closed. Glad you are close enough to your DS's GF to be able to counsel her on weight issues. How does your DS feel about her weight?

Swifty, you are so close to being done!!! Good going on the leaves. Leaf raking I haven't started yet. Need to.

Traci, hope you worked the stiffness out of your body. Was wondering if you have been able to play tennis with your DH. How is he liking the new boat? Do you have venison to cook up? Think I would just suggest that my DH make jerky out of all of it. I think a lot of older people get to where they just don't care so much about what others think. I need a little of that, but then not too much.

Debra, how was the massage? DS's GF and I will go again for another spa morning in a few months. Something nice to look forward to. How was Bryan Kest today? School not out for Veteran's Day either? Maybe it was because the real holiday was yesterday. Duh, on my part. Good job on staying in your desired weight zone. You seem to have the right balance, good eating at restaurants and still keeping your weight down. I'd love that! Thanks for the Eoin quote. I'll try to keep that one in mind during my busy day tomorrow. I see now that the massage wasn't as good as your previous one that left. Hope you find a good one soon. Way to go on getting a chunk of Christmas shopping done already. Feels good, doesn't it? I love that Chianti that they serve at Macaroni Palace or whatever the name of it is.

Lea, did your DH do some yoga with you? My DH has been complaining of his back bothering him lately. It'll be a cold day in he** when I see him doing pigeon...

Anointed, glad you enjoyed your dinner last night. I can usually cut back on the dinner, it's the dessert that I have a tough time with.

Nicole, know you are enjoying having your DH home. Ease into that workout. Bet you've been getting plenty of exercise now that he's home ;-)

Wendy, loved the pictures of the birds in the trees. How is your DS doing? Is he still in Bootcamp? I will definitely be on my boss's back this week, checking on the paperwork for the promotion. You can count on that one. TTOM supposed to start for me tomorrow. Departure time is next week, isn't it? Bet you are soooo excited! I am so thankful for to our men and women fighting for our freedoms, past and present. Thank your son for me too. When I say BF, my mind immediately went to "boyfriend". Glad you clarified!

Sandra, so sorry about the sleepover fiasco. I remember having ear infections, so painful. I also remember having the mumps when I was young. Rocking myself back and forth, I was miserable. Glad kids don't have to go thru that anymore. Hope your DD gets over her illness soon.

Must get a move on from here,

See y'all in the morning!
