Hello all you wild & crazy Xers! We decided to come home late yesterday so am still trying to get my bearings!
Workouts & eating went as planned:7 and for some reason biceps & shoulders feel like I lifted heavy weights yesterday - all I did was Cardio Kicks & Circuit Max without weights...VERY STRANGE!
Today is Barrys BootCamp Full Body - very anxious to try this one out as Laurie says its all body weight vs dumbbells}(
Gotta go catch up on all the chatter from weekend... From the quick glance it appears everyone had a great weekend in the outdoors!
I shall return after more coffee- lots of cob webs this morning.:7

Gosh I think I will have to bribe, beg, plead with DH to take laptop to bay and use ..... DIALUP! OMG - a fate worse than death! I will only be home 4 days this week and 3 days next week as we are taking some mini vactions to bay. It is JUST TOO MUCH for me to take being away from you guys so much!

~~~~~~~~~~~~ PERSONALS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LaurieX: The golden coffee cup award for starting Saturdays thread! :+ Your Kimberly Spreen sounds like a great workout! I think its the drills in Cardio Kicks that got me good! Even my tummy is sore this morning. I still think of Tony and say "thanks" when I do any kickboxing now as my form is so good and I actually work muscles now! Your weekend sounds VERY busy! Hope Stretch X was very relaxing!
SandraX: I like looking at the $ saved from roadtrip going towards new videos!:7 You just lifted my spirits! I also think my mini depression on Friday was due to AF! That crazy "woman" makes me cry over everything but by Saturday afternoon I was just fine with being on the sidelines for this one! Amy & Cheryl from WW'ers are confirmed to go so we'll at least get to see pics of them! I am very glad you took a rest day on Friday! It does sound like your body needed to catch up with your strenuous post X workouts! Do you think its all the added cardio making you so hungry? HOORAY on your fabulous run Sunday! I know you are just tickled pink about being as strong as ever!! ^5 :7 LOL on the B&G mix- I thought it was "ok".. Funny how we all prefer different things. It was too lunge heavy for me so I actually started adding in more leg presses and firewalkers near the end. Lunges bore me to tears! Maybe thats why I'm never satisfied with my legs! OHHHHHH I cant wait to hear if you do Amys 3 day split!!!! Do it !!!
JeanetteX: Sounds like you too made a smart choice for a lighter workout day Saturday! Sometimes those lighter days are exactly what our bodies need... We all seem to still feel so "wimpy" when we dont go all out. Will we ever recognize the value of Zig Zagging intensity days? ;-) OMG on your ride yesterday! When you say something was tough it means IMPOSSIBLE to my body! Great Job Jeanette! Keeping fingers crossed that your woodstove deal gets sealed soon! I'll be doing Ripped 1000 this week as well. I am going to do 3 total bodies to prepare for X next week. Barry today, 1000 on Wednesday and probably a NEW ( cant believe I said that again!) Speed Body workout I received over the weekend.
LeaX: Oh I so know how you feel by needing to "lose fat". I leaned out quite a bit post X and then BAMMY there I was all flabby again - maybe ttom but I dont think so. I swear I'm about to start X TODAY! }( Oh dear Lea- you sound like Martha Stewart to me! Do you know that I have never set foot in an arts & crafts store? I also have no desire to go into one as I wouldnt know what anything was! :7
TracyX: Wow! If you can check in from an airport I can surely check in from bay! :7 Oh my goodness on your glute! I hope you have a good booty doc to help with this one. That must be extremely uncomfortable in lifes activities! I got your address BTW so will get myself to post office today. My jaw is open reading about your clothes size! I wasnt a zero the day I was born! I can just picture how petite & cute all of you are! My bone structure is extra small, my ht is 5'5 yet my hips & legs have always had a body size all their own! I guess all of us are going thru the mushy body thing- (except jeanette!)... Its definitely time to get back to some type of cleaner eating for me and the X.
DebraX: Hope your weekend with DH & friends was a good start in healing.
StephX: Hope you had a fabulous weekend! I know you are always busy busy!
Great day to all!!!:7
Good morning. I am soooo waiting for my coffee right now:9 . But in the meantime, I will try to make everything as coherent as possible.
Today I am going to do a high step workout I think. I haven't done it in a while and it use to kick my arss. Maybe will today, who knows.
Miss Traci X - First off, welcome back. But why oh why does your DH feel the need to take you away from us all of the time? And it is starting to be longer? What, does he think that you only have a life with him? NOT;-) . But that is very sad news;( . And you must smuggle a laptop along with you. Make some excuse that you have to use the bathroom while he is fishing or something. Are you going to be able to start X next week since you will be gone? Oh, and BTW, Martha Stewart I am not. I have never been in jail as long as she has:+ . But the arts and crafts thing are all for my older DS. He is the artistic one, so I try to support that as much as possible. I guess you and Sandra have a little WW secret code going on. I hope that you are feeling better from Friday. Only 7 more days to go until doubles}( .
And to everyone else, a big HI and good morning!!! Talk to you all later.
Lea
Good morning,
Wow, very quiet thread so far. My workout this morning was GR 1000 with Jari Love. I got a good workout and the cardio intervals did get my heart rate up. The compound moves are great and make me sweat. This has heavier lifting (though it's not heavy by any stretch) than I've been used to with Slim Series. Jari Love is VERY thin, which is not a look that I prefer at all, however, I'll never be like that so as long as the workout is good and effective...
Traci, glad you are back here with us now. We sure miss you and your enthusiasm. We'll be anxious to hear how you like Barry's Bootcamp. I received the Janis Saffel's kickbox workout (along with GR 1000) and previewed her. Think it will be a good one for the price. I plan on doing it on Saturday. Yes, the bike ride was tough. I tried to hang with the speedsters at the beginning like last week, but it wasn't in the cards for me. My legs were still fatigued from my last bike ride on Friday, or maybe it was from the Amy Bento half-a**ed cardio work that I did on Saturday. I stayed back and rode with the slower riders and enjoyed myself thoroughly there. It still was a hard ride. You seem really excited to start the X again. I'm not there with you, yet. In fact, the pushups in GR 1000 I did all on my knees today, didn't even feel like challenging myself to do them on my toes. I just haven't had the gumption to push myself there lately.
Lea, you're cracking me up about Martha Stewart. Hope you enjoy that high step workout. Gosh, it's been ages and ages since I've done one. From the looks of your smilie, think you will be bringing it big time. Wish I could get enthused but not at the present. Got too much stuff mentally with work going on (but in a good way). Just a bit on overload right now.
Oh yeah, DH hasn't worked out for about 2 weeks now. He's been tired from lots of overtime so I haven't pushed him at all. Anyways, he's already lost 4 pounds since NOT working out. He's been making better choices most of the time with his eating. He was pretty happy when he got on the scale yesterday.
Got to go now, hi to everyone else.
Jeanette
LeaX: You are a BAD GIRL! Martha Stewart/jail time!:p Before I forget- size Med in that gray for tank.... offer still open on mailing check in advance;-) What a great mom you are! If I had kids I'd make them do things I loved vs me doing things THEY loved! LOL- Guess I made a good choice to pass on motherhood this lifetime!:7
How ya feeling these days? Knees, Elbows, Colds.... any other diseases I missed???? OF COURSE I'm starting X as planned on Monday!
I am going to insert rest days when I need them vs every 7th day. Last time I felt like I was on rest days when I felt strong and on strength days when my body needed rest. I also have to juggle anything with weight work around my busy bay schedule! PRIORITIES ya know?:7 I am actually going to look at week 1 & 2 today & see what I already know will have to be altered... I'll probably be doing things like Legs & Back in morning & whatever upper is needed in evenings 1 or 2 days a week to stay on target.... This should be very interesting!
JeanetteX: Congratulate DH for eating better! We should all learn from him that a couple of weeks without workouts + clean eating is the ticket! OH MY GOSH I didnt realize GR1000 had pushups! YUK - I can hardly wait until Wednesday! I totally agree that Jari is way too thin for my tastes... I always say a quick prayer that she isnt ill. It could just be her body type but it freaks me out a bit any time I do one of her workouts. Take care of those legs today! Perhaps DH can give you a nice massage tonight?;-)
Good morning!
I'll be tight on time this week. It's March Break for the kids, so while DD is home every day, we have play dates booked every day except Tuesday. I'm exhausted just thinking about the week ahead.
This morning I did Amy Bento's Chest & Shoulder premix from the All-Pump Extreme dvd. It was pretty good. I went heavier than she did and felt it, but feel like I needed a larger variety of exercises. It wasn't "enough." It crossed my mind to add on the same body parts from PUB, but for the sake of time I decided against. Maybe I'll do PUB at the end of the week.
I wanted some light, short cardio this morning, so, believe it or not, I did CardioX!!! It was perrrrrfect for what I needed. My shins are sore from yesterday's run, and the rest of my legs and core are fatigued. This workout helped me shake out some of the lactic acid without further stressing the muscles. Felt really good.
I think I'll give Janis Saffel's Strikezone a whirl tomorrow.
TraciX - I was soooo ready to start the P90X weight routines again this morning! I feel like I'm just biding my time until next week. It will get here soon enough, I'm sure, then I'll be sorry! I'm glad I could help cheer you up about the road trip. It looks like you're already spending that extra money on videos LOL! Yes, we are all very individual when it comes to workout preferences. I'm dying to hear how you like Barry's total body workout. If I were to buy any of those, it would be that one. Yes, I imagine it's all the cardio that boosted my appetite, and the cessation of my bedtime snack.
TracyX - so nice to see you back! Good grief you're tiny! I think my thigh is about the size of your waist!
LeaX - Have a fun time with the high step workout! I love those.
JeanetteX - I'm glad you had a nice ride yesterday, even if you weren't the group's speedster. I thought of you today when I was attempting the Dreya rolls. HOW do you do 20 of those unassisted? I'm still in awe.
Okay, I've got to hit the showers so I can get the kids out the door to PlayDate Number 1.
Have a great day,
Sandra
Morning Xers,
Today will be Barry's Arms & Abs plus the treadmill workout or going outside in this beautiful weather. Checking in late today. I have been having to make phone calls to find a replacement kid to sub for my oldest DD. The church decided to have her do acolyte duties two weekends in a row. "Because of the Easter services." Well I have to find someone to sub for the 6:30 am services on Easter sunday. Just very frustrating...
Sandra, You have now become chauffer mom for the week. :) With my daughter in sports, it seems I'm always in the van running around for the girls. :) Hope they have fun on their playdate.
Lea, I ordered a size L on the shirt and grey. I gave a hoot on the Martha Stewart and jail time. Thanks for the laugh. :D
Traci, I promise to get that last description for you on the Chest & Abs. With each one of them having a different instructor, it makes them very different in how the workouts are done. In a good way of course. I want to try out all the cardio on these so I will be doing one more round. But not the full body.
BBL
Laurie
Back again. Can you tell it is spring break?
Jeanette X - Glad you liked Jari. Guess I have to try check her out again with an open mind. I do think that the skininess is a factor for me. HST was awesome!!! Not as tough as pre-X, but still on the heart rate OMG:eek: side. I forgot about all of those leg presses. It is great to see what a positive influece you are on your DH. Is he still bringing in those chips? I started to eat chips again this week. What the heck, I have one week more to be totally bad}( before I clean up my eating. Ok, girl, try not to blow your top off from all of that work overload.
Traci X - No more diseases for me this week.... I think...Hmm...Let me look.....No, no diseases here. Everything is doing well and on the healing side. You seem like you really are going to bring it this rotation. I am actually looking forward to MORE workouts this time. It's a sick sick life. I know.
Sandra X - Busy busy woman you are. Play dates every day? You are definately more of a mom than I am. Cardio X perfect? Now I really can't wait for the doubles rotation. I can't wait, I can't wait(pant pant pant:p).
Laurie X - You really should be a spokesperson on Barry's Bootcamp. How many of us do you have interested in BB? EVERYONE!!! You go saleswoman of the year. I hope that everything works out for you. We can't have you frustrated.
All right gang. Until later.....
Lea
Hi all,
Today will be a walk, stretching, and some abs. I am going to a concert with my son tonight. We are going to see the Decemberists, a little known band who are just starting to make it big. I thought that he was going to take his GF, but she doesn’t like them. I hope it is good; I haven’t been to a concert in years. I’m a rocker at heart, and some of the music on these fitness DVDs is painful. Thank goodness I’ve mastered the ability to tune things out.
Traci – You are still the energizer bunny! I’m interested to hear about the BBC workout today. Yes, dial up is almost a fate worse than death. I remember when we switched to high speed and I couldn’t believe that I had waited so long.
Lea – My son and I tried to tile the floor in one of our bathrooms. The tiling process itself is not hard, it’s the prep work. We had to tear out the old floor down to nothing and then put in new plywood and cement board. That was really hard. All I can say is that if you do try tile, rent an electric tile cutter. A small t-shirt, let me know how you want to pay.
Sandra – Are you still following your planned rotation? How does it feel? DD is off all week? Are you busy every minute? Does it bring back memories of when she wasn’t in school, like how did I ever survive?
Jeanette – You didn’t do the pushups on your toes? That’s one thing that I don’t want to loose is my ability to do all sorts of pushups. I just think that they are so portable and so effective. I hope you get the wood stove situation straight. Good thing you found out before he delivered the stove!
Debra – Is your DH still here?
Steph- You have kids off this week too?
Laurie – Busy too huh?
Later,
Tracy
Tracy X - You snuck in. A rocker at heart huh? A girl after my own heart. I remember going to sooooo many concerts when I was younger. Rush was my very very very first concert. Thanks for the info on the tile. I will have to very confident about my abilities before I start that. But I think with you, me and Jeanette's abilities, we should all get together and put out a DIY video. We could be the Charlie's Angels of DIY!!! LOL.
Lea
Back again-
What a day! Times like this I want to go back to work!!! just not enough hours some days. FINALLY completed Barrys BC Full Body and TaeBo Abs.... I liked full body (no weights) - cant say that its the best "full body" I ever did but there was a cardio factor, lots of pushups, great abs, dips galore and a few plyo moves. I'd do it again but not if I wanted a great full body strength training day. I did realize today how absolutely negilgent I've been with stretching and yoga. I must stay in that habit after my next X but at least for the next 3 months I just need to press play (ie: do as I'm told!)
TRACY X: have a great time at the concert! Most of ours here are at an out door theater so they are very cool to go to. My first concert was Chicago.... Does that age me or what? Hows that back woman?
LEA X: I had to laugh at your eating chips & this being your last week before you clean up your act. I had the exact thought this weekend then realized that I promised to post Pre-X pics this time and got a little "scared!" I dont want you guys going..."Sheeez with all the workouts she does why is she the pilsbury dough boy?" Peer pressure is great for my clean eating!
Laurie X: What was your overall feeling about BBC Full Body? Was my head just not in the game today or did you have the same feelings. I'll be really interested to hear how well you maintain your X gains by doing BBC 2x thru. I still want another X that I dont have to think so darn much about! Hpe you found your sub.
Sandra X: What a week you'll be having! Play dates galore!!! Do you have a lot in common with the other moms? For some reason I dont see you schmoozing with moms.... Sounds like your run really worked you! Good job on getting that in! CardioX- heheheheeh I just knew you couldnt stray to far from Tony!
Jeanette X: Hope you had a great day at the prison!
Debra X: Miss you!!!
Steph X: Hope all is well!
Off to make some red fish, sweet potatoes & cauliflower for din din.
Great night to all!
Hi...Just popping on really quick while DH has gone to get gas! No workout for me for the past 3 days...GRRR! But all is going well...I should be able to workout tomorrow and I am looking forward to it! Took DD into Chicago today and went to American Girl Place and then to ESPN Zone for games...had a good time walking in the city and the weather is awesome!
Sorry no time for chit chat right now....I actually have to cook supper since DH is home.
Miss you ladies!
Debra
Debra - Oh I just love love love the ESPN zone. Especially the b-ball. Every time we have gone to Chicago the line was out the door there. How I love downtown Chicago. So much fun. And the pizza. YUMMY. Look forward to hearing more. Glad things are going well.
Miss Tracy X - So you want to go back to work so there is even less hours in the day????? Hmmm....I hear ya on the yoga. No stretchy for me during the break. I will have to break in again. And lol on the pilsbury dough boy comment. Exactly why I am NOT taking pics before X. Afterwards, sure not a problem, but now, no way Jose. Tee hee.
Ok, off to eat some more chocolate chip cookies. Not;-) . Talk to you all later.
Evening ladies,
Had a busy day at work, but a productive one. Rained today too, but hopefully tomorrow will be decent and I can do a short ride on my bike tomorrow and spin out my legs. Also plan on doing Lowmax tomorrow. It's TTOM still, been slow coming on, kind of crampy right now. Bleh.
Traci, yep, GR 1000 has pushups like Cathe does in GS Chest. I wimped and didn't do them on my toes. All my aspirations of keeping my strength have gone down the tube. I haven't done a lat pulldown in forever. However, I know some time I will be back at it, just really needed a change and to see if better eating will help too. Hey, I told you guys I was lazy. Maybe I will get DH to massage my thighs. That's usually where I feel my TTOM cramps is in my legs. Anyone else like this? We will want to see pictures this time for sure!!! If I can, you can too!!
Sandra, my CardioX has never even been played yet. I might have to pull that one out soon too. Oh, so many choices!! Oh yeah, Dreya rolls. I don't know why, but I can do them without even touching my hands to the ground. I think it's cuz Weebles Wobble, but they don't fall down.
Laurie, you are the Barry's Bootcamp expert here. Probably nice having the different instructors for these workouts.
Lea, I'm ashamed to say, yes, DH bought a bag of chips and said it was all mine because I kept getting into his. And yes, ashamed to say, I ate the whole thing too. They are the kettle chips. They are gone now so I don't have to think about them anymore. Other than that, my eating was good today. This new office doesn't have any snacks hanging around, nor do they do potlucks either. Not a bad thing at all. Heck, I've been so busy I usually eat at my desk and don't even take my 45 minutes. Once I get the job down better, I'll go back to walking the track here at work during my lunch. Jari Love is too thin for my tastes. Not to be nasty, but I don't like the thin face and all teeth look. Personally, I think she could put on at least 10 pounds or more. Her legs are nice though. LOL re: the Charlie's Angels of DIY! Actually, I know just enough to be very dangerous. In fact when DH sees me struggling with the power drill, he just takes over as it's too painful for him to watch me fumbling.
Tracy, I didn't hear back from the woodstove guy today so will call him tomorrow. I have to know yea or nea or is it neigh?
Debra, thanks for popping in. Sounds like you are having a nice time with your DH. Still sending out the good vibes that all is and will be well.
Got to get ready for bed. Looking forward to Lowmax tomorrow.
Jeanette
