Hello all you wild & crazy Xers! We decided to come home late yesterday so am still trying to get my bearings!
Workouts & eating went as planned and for some reason biceps & shoulders feel like I lifted heavy weights yesterday - all I did was Cardio Kicks & Circuit Max without weights...VERY STRANGE!
Today is Barrys BootCamp Full Body - very anxious to try this one out as Laurie says its all body weight vs dumbbells
Gotta go catch up on all the chatter from weekend... From the quick glance it appears everyone had a great weekend in the outdoors!
I shall return after more coffee- lots of cob webs this morning.

Gosh I think I will have to bribe, beg, plead with DH to take laptop to bay and use ..... DIALUP! OMG - a fate worse than death! I will only be home 4 days this week and 3 days next week as we are taking some mini vactions to bay. It is JUST TOO MUCH for me to take being away from you guys so much!
~~~~~~~~~~~~ PERSONALS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LaurieX: The golden coffee cup award for starting Saturdays thread! Your Kimberly Spreen sounds like a great workout! I think its the drills in Cardio Kicks that got me good! Even my tummy is sore this morning. I still think of Tony and say "thanks" when I do any kickboxing now as my form is so good and I actually work muscles now! Your weekend sounds VERY busy! Hope Stretch X was very relaxing!
SandraX: I like looking at the $ saved from roadtrip going towards new videos! You just lifted my spirits! I also think my mini depression on Friday was due to AF! That crazy "woman" makes me cry over everything but by Saturday afternoon I was just fine with being on the sidelines for this one! Amy & Cheryl from WW'ers are confirmed to go so we'll at least get to see pics of them! I am very glad you took a rest day on Friday! It does sound like your body needed to catch up with your strenuous post X workouts! Do you think its all the added cardio making you so hungry? HOORAY on your fabulous run Sunday! I know you are just tickled pink about being as strong as ever!! ^5 LOL on the B&G mix- I thought it was "ok".. Funny how we all prefer different things. It was too lunge heavy for me so I actually started adding in more leg presses and firewalkers near the end. Lunges bore me to tears! Maybe thats why I'm never satisfied with my legs! OHHHHHH I cant wait to hear if you do Amys 3 day split!!!! Do it !!!
JeanetteX: Sounds like you too made a smart choice for a lighter workout day Saturday! Sometimes those lighter days are exactly what our bodies need... We all seem to still feel so "wimpy" when we dont go all out. Will we ever recognize the value of Zig Zagging intensity days? OMG on your ride yesterday! When you say something was tough it means IMPOSSIBLE to my body! Great Job Jeanette! Keeping fingers crossed that your woodstove deal gets sealed soon! I'll be doing Ripped 1000 this week as well. I am going to do 3 total bodies to prepare for X next week. Barry today, 1000 on Wednesday and probably a NEW ( cant believe I said that again!) Speed Body workout I received over the weekend.
LeaX: Oh I so know how you feel by needing to "lose fat". I leaned out quite a bit post X and then BAMMY there I was all flabby again - maybe ttom but I dont think so. I swear I'm about to start X TODAY! Oh dear Lea- you sound like Martha Stewart to me! Do you know that I have never set foot in an arts & crafts store? I also have no desire to go into one as I wouldnt know what anything was!
TracyX: Wow! If you can check in from an airport I can surely check in from bay! Oh my goodness on your glute! I hope you have a good booty doc to help with this one. That must be extremely uncomfortable in lifes activities! I got your address BTW so will get myself to post office today. My jaw is open reading about your clothes size! I wasnt a zero the day I was born! I can just picture how petite & cute all of you are! My bone structure is extra small, my ht is 5'5 yet my hips & legs have always had a body size all their own! I guess all of us are going thru the mushy body thing- (except jeanette!)... Its definitely time to get back to some type of cleaner eating for me and the X.
DebraX: Hope your weekend with DH & friends was a good start in healing.
StephX: Hope you had a fabulous weekend! I know you are always busy busy!
Great day to all!!!
Good morning. I am soooo waiting for my coffee right now . But in the meantime, I will try to make everything as coherent as possible.
Today I am going to do a high step workout I think. I haven't done it in a while and it use to kick my arss. Maybe will today, who knows.
Miss Traci X - First off, welcome back. But why oh why does your DH feel the need to take you away from us all of the time? And it is starting to be longer? What, does he think that you only have a life with him? NOT . But that is very sad news . And you must smuggle a laptop along with you. Make some excuse that you have to use the bathroom while he is fishing or something. Are you going to be able to start X next week since you will be gone? Oh, and BTW, Martha Stewart I am not. I have never been in jail as long as she has . But the arts and crafts thing are all for my older DS. He is the artistic one, so I try to support that as much as possible. I guess you and Sandra have a little WW secret code going on. I hope that you are feeling better from Friday. Only 7 more days to go until doubles .
And to everyone else, a big HI and good morning!!! Talk to you all later.
Lea
Good morning,
Wow, very quiet thread so far. My workout this morning was GR 1000 with Jari Love. I got a good workout and the cardio intervals did get my heart rate up. The compound moves are great and make me sweat. This has heavier lifting (though it's not heavy by any stretch) than I've been used to with Slim Series. Jari Love is VERY thin, which is not a look that I prefer at all, however, I'll never be like that so as long as the workout is good and effective...
Traci, glad you are back here with us now. We sure miss you and your enthusiasm. We'll be anxious to hear how you like Barry's Bootcamp. I received the Janis Saffel's kickbox workout (along with GR 1000) and previewed her. Think it will be a good one for the price. I plan on doing it on Saturday. Yes, the bike ride was tough. I tried to hang with the speedsters at the beginning like last week, but it wasn't in the cards for me. My legs were still fatigued from my last bike ride on Friday, or maybe it was from the Amy Bento half-a**ed cardio work that I did on Saturday. I stayed back and rode with the slower riders and enjoyed myself thoroughly there. It still was a hard ride. You seem really excited to start the X again. I'm not there with you, yet. In fact, the pushups in GR 1000 I did all on my knees today, didn't even feel like challenging myself to do them on my toes. I just haven't had the gumption to push myself there lately.
Lea, you're cracking me up about Martha Stewart. Hope you enjoy that high step workout. Gosh, it's been ages and ages since I've done one. From the looks of your smilie, think you will be bringing it big time. Wish I could get enthused but not at the present. Got too much stuff mentally with work going on (but in a good way). Just a bit on overload right now.
Oh yeah, DH hasn't worked out for about 2 weeks now. He's been tired from lots of overtime so I haven't pushed him at all. Anyways, he's already lost 4 pounds since NOT working out. He's been making better choices most of the time with his eating. He was pretty happy when he got on the scale yesterday.
Got to go now, hi to everyone else.
Jeanette
LeaX: You are a BAD GIRL! Martha Stewart/jail time! Before I forget- size Med in that gray for tank.... offer still open on mailing check in advance What a great mom you are! If I had kids I'd make them do things I loved vs me doing things THEY loved! LOL- Guess I made a good choice to pass on motherhood this lifetime!
How ya feeling these days? Knees, Elbows, Colds.... any other diseases I missed???? OF COURSE I'm starting X as planned on Monday!
I am going to insert rest days when I need them vs every 7th day. Last time I felt like I was on rest days when I felt strong and on strength days when my body needed rest. I also have to juggle anything with weight work around my busy bay schedule! PRIORITIES ya know? I am actually going to look at week 1 & 2 today & see what I already know will have to be altered... I'll probably be doing things like Legs & Back in morning & whatever upper is needed in evenings 1 or 2 days a week to stay on target.... This should be very interesting!
JeanetteX: Congratulate DH for eating better! We should all learn from him that a couple of weeks without workouts + clean eating is the ticket! OH MY GOSH I didnt realize GR1000 had pushups! YUK - I can hardly wait until Wednesday! I totally agree that Jari is way too thin for my tastes... I always say a quick prayer that she isnt ill. It could just be her body type but it freaks me out a bit any time I do one of her workouts. Take care of those legs today! Perhaps DH can give you a nice massage tonight?
Good morning!
I'll be tight on time this week. It's March Break for the kids, so while DD is home every day, we have play dates booked every day except Tuesday. I'm exhausted just thinking about the week ahead.
This morning I did Amy Bento's Chest & Shoulder premix from the All-Pump Extreme dvd. It was pretty good. I went heavier than she did and felt it, but feel like I needed a larger variety of exercises. It wasn't "enough." It crossed my mind to add on the same body parts from PUB, but for the sake of time I decided against. Maybe I'll do PUB at the end of the week.
I wanted some light, short cardio this morning, so, believe it or not, I did CardioX!!! It was perrrrrfect for what I needed. My shins are sore from yesterday's run, and the rest of my legs and core are fatigued. This workout helped me shake out some of the lactic acid without further stressing the muscles. Felt really good.
I think I'll give Janis Saffel's Strikezone a whirl tomorrow.
TraciX - I was soooo ready to start the P90X weight routines again this morning! I feel like I'm just biding my time until next week. It will get here soon enough, I'm sure, then I'll be sorry! I'm glad I could help cheer you up about the road trip. It looks like you're already spending that extra money on videos LOL! Yes, we are all very individual when it comes to workout preferences. I'm dying to hear how you like Barry's total body workout. If I were to buy any of those, it would be that one. Yes, I imagine it's all the cardio that boosted my appetite, and the cessation of my bedtime snack.
TracyX - so nice to see you back! Good grief you're tiny! I think my thigh is about the size of your waist!
LeaX - Have a fun time with the high step workout! I love those.
JeanetteX - I'm glad you had a nice ride yesterday, even if you weren't the group's speedster. I thought of you today when I was attempting the Dreya rolls. HOW do you do 20 of those unassisted? I'm still in awe.
Okay, I've got to hit the showers so I can get the kids out the door to PlayDate Number 1.
Have a great day,
Sandra
Hi all,
Today will be a walk, stretching, and some abs. I am going to a concert with my son tonight. We are going to see the Decemberists, a little known band who are just starting to make it big. I thought that he was going to take his GF, but she doesn’t like them. I hope it is good; I haven’t been to a concert in years. I’m a rocker at heart, and some of the music on these fitness DVDs is painful. Thank goodness I’ve mastered the ability to tune things out.
Traci – You are still the energizer bunny! I’m interested to hear about the BBC workout today. Yes, dial up is almost a fate worse than death. I remember when we switched to high speed and I couldn’t believe that I had waited so long.
Lea – My son and I tried to tile the floor in one of our bathrooms. The tiling process itself is not hard, it’s the prep work. We had to tear out the old floor down to nothing and then put in new plywood and cement board. That was really hard. All I can say is that if you do try tile, rent an electric tile cutter. A small t-shirt, let me know how you want to pay.
Sandra – Are you still following your planned rotation? How does it feel? DD is off all week? Are you busy every minute? Does it bring back memories of when she wasn’t in school, like how did I ever survive?
Jeanette – You didn’t do the pushups on your toes? That’s one thing that I don’t want to loose is my ability to do all sorts of pushups. I just think that they are so portable and so effective. I hope you get the wood stove situation straight. Good thing you found out before he delivered the stove!
Debra – Is your DH still here?
Steph- You have kids off this week too?
Laurie – Busy too huh?
Later,
Tracy
