Xers--------Monday ___________

OMG! i just did X+ Full Body.........HOLY MOLY! I dont think I did ANY of them til the clock stopped! (Its all time vs reps) Its a core Syn, all the Weighted X in compound move and circuit fashion.... I'm totally wiped out! There are some moves I had to totally change up because I dont have my pull up bar yet (THANK GAWD!) .... I am dripping..... FYI I did do the FB of The Parts but all it was is 2 compound moves then pilates & yoga.... I said forget THAT thsi body needs WORK so pulled out FB X+..... AWESOME series guys... There is a Trainers Track option on this one - I suggest the first time or 2 start w/ that... It just speaks over Tonys regular banter to tell you how to execute each move properly- it wasnt distracting and actually made me correct my form.... LOTS of potential for back issues w/ this one if proper form isnt used.

Off to get cleaned up.... back in a bit

I'm back :D :D :D Now to catch up since yesterday's post disappeared }(

Traci-X -- So far, so good with the bands. I definitely felt a nice burn in the lats }( that I didn't feel using a chair. DS isn't doing videos with me (he's uninterested, lol), but he's taking Kenpo Karate at a local studio. So far, he loves it :D I haven't yet gotten X+ yet, the finances need to come back into order for that first :) It's definitely on the list, though! You sound like my SIL, waking up naturally at 3AM. She doesn't work out, but she uses that time to write her book. As for me, I'm lucky to be up by 7!! lol. And for DH, sometimes 3AM is bedtime!! Sorry I couldn't participate in the Sunday Siesta yesterday. I had Cleaning Max instead. Thanks for the Kenpo+ review. It sounds like a ton of fun :D And Tony is LEANER? :-O Yikes!

Kim -- Your mom definitely sounds like my aunt :D How cool for you to have such an awesome role model!

Jeanette -- I'm finding out that the definition is almost solely dependent on how cleanly I eat }( So, for me, it's back to tracking everything...

Nicole -- Yup, I turned 30. You have a good memory :) No strange PMs, sorry there's someone cyber-stalking you!

Sandra -- To use the bands, you loop it around the pull-up bar (play around with a rubber band and a pencil), then you put your knee or foot in the band (depending on how much assistance you want) and do your set like normal. They're really easy to use :) Good luck with the new eating plan. I hope you get some great results with it!

Wendy -- We'll suck you in before the presale's over }( lol. ACK about the car. When will yours be done??

Debra -- (((HUGS))) My closest friend is dealing with a horrific divorce situation, too. She was just in court this morning trying to extend the restraining order against her soon-to-be XDH. He's quite a jerk, too. I hope you are able to get an appt soon and get him all straightened out!!

Hi to everyone else!! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend and you BRING IT today!!

Carol

Back to more of todays chat….

SANDRA X:::
Congrats on a successful C&B!!! I agree its challenging even on a good day to actually increase EVERYTHING (reps & wts) on all exercises…I think if one does that then probably the last round wasn’t as strong as it could have been or they were having an off day. I notice that w/ Holly (star client) When she’s REALLY pushing herself by the last round of “whatever” she is not able to keep the pace or performance earlier in the session. The human body can only do so much right?. ~~ Thanks for sharing your lunch… I mimicked you as I had all in the house already… I COULD just get my darn manual out couldn’t I? ;-) Lets say I’m keeping you accountable vs. I’m too lazy to read it again! ~~ Thanks so much for the vote of confidence in my abilities to train myself. Sometimes I wonder whats wrong w/ me when it comes to ME! Lololol… I always say, I need ME as a Trainer! Wish it were in the budget- I’d do it in a heartbeat. ~~ The shoulder has been REALLY bothering me at night & early am- I think it’s the cold weather but who knows… I think it will always be a problem child… As long as it doesn’t ever get bad like before I can fake it! LOL ~~ That would be fun to have a Pyramid Partner… I’ll email you my initial plan & you can tweak it over the next few weeks w/ me if you’d like. Its excel format- I imagine you have that on your fancy new ‘puter!? Stay healthy, stay happy and you will ROCK on your new meal plan!!! XXOOXOXOXO

LAURIE XX:::
KC+ it is! Good choice!!! Thanks again for helping me out on my blunder…. XXOO ~ What a weekend eh? I can just see you arem wrestling for the computer with the kids…You just WHOOP them Mom XX! It IS nice to have cash as gift isn’t it? I sure wish all my relatives understood that! Ha…. We actually went to a No Gifts policy in the family (my side only) years ago… I actually break the rule when we have $$ to spare but more often than not its just cards. ITA about KC+ … I plan on doing it again tomorrow just because I think I was so surprised by the pace yesterday that I just lost focus…I did find myself smiling A LOT tho! My new FAV! OH GREAT IDEA!!! P90X Legs would be FABULOUS for DD!!! Excellent choice! Very good overall. If your Kathy Smith is Lower Body Firming then ANOTHER oh yes!!! LOLOLOL… Those DVDs will get used one way or another!!! I’d actually have her start w/ Kathy Smith- she can add hand weights if its just way to simple but I find its pretty good as is.

TEDDYGIRL:::
That’s unbelievable about computer prices!!!! I am so thankful I get DH’s hand-me-downs every couple of years @ no cost when the company upgrades… That’s how I got my flatscreen monitor as well…. Very very nice & a HUGE spacesaver on my desk. ~ The cost of DVDs as package is 5.95…I surely doubt it will be that low when they are available a la carte tho…. BUY NOW!!!! ! ~ I think you should print out Sandra’s response to you on the X…. It is a well thought out & on target post for all. She’s so smart isn’t she??? Gotta love the Canadians! XXOOOXXOO

NICOLE X :::
Glad you got a great core syn today…. For me a fabulous workout just clears my head – a POO-POO one makes me all stressed out & feeling frumpy! Shhhhhhhhhhhhh don’t tell DH a thing! I’ll protect you!!!!

DEBRA X::::
So glad the 1st presentation is under your belt- ~WHEW~ …. You’ll be a pro in no time! ROF about using XDH credit card! If I were you I would buy EVERYTTHING I want QUICKLY! All it takes is 1 email to CC Company to report YOU as a non-user… I’m sure that’s coming so HURRY & set up MY facial injections ok??? I’ll email you my Drs name!!!!! Thanks for the kudos on alarm clock- YES I am struttin’ around today proud as a peacock! I love when I master a new skill! XXOOXOXOX YOU ROCK woman- Enjoy your Siesta!!!! (then start www shopping!) ;-)

LEA X::
Good for you for figuring out what your perfect nutrition look like… I just read in ASK CATHE that Cathe eats “lots of carbs” & intuitively can look at a food & know how her body will respond… Oh to be @ that point in my life… Maybe this is my curse for NOT having children! I feel like I should have no excuses but that just isn’t so…. If I recall correctly the milks are made by soaking the almonds for a few hrs (?) then slowly adding nuts/water/nuts/water thru juicer… Do you want the directions? No problem to gran the book next time I post. Dallas was just because I get tired of East Coast teams winning everything! LOLOLOL On a “normal” day I root AGAINT Dallas in all sports! ;-)

Time to prep tonights training w/ client.... Only 2 sessions this week but DH starts training with me tonight...or so thats the plan!
:7 :7 :7

Tracie: Yes she it:) :9 Every 3 years our company would give us our computer or sell it too us for $20.00. They stop that last year normally I would be bringing my computer home, next month. So instead of upgrading our computer every 3 years they decided to do it every 4 years. Nice workout:)

Sandra: Thank you, you and Trac, are right on. I have decided to hang in there. The truth is I haven’t done a UB workout in three weeks, Truth:D :D since I started recovery week been down hill ever since.

Hi all,

I see there are a lot of Xers unhappy with the X! I'll get on my soap box for just a minute and remind everyone to think about their fitness goals and to use their knowledge, and that of the group, to help make decisions. I was reading an article about decreasing BF on T Nation last night and I still think that the bottom line is that if you want to get results it does not come easy. I don't necessarily mean butt busting workouts everytime, but calculated workouts. It's also OK to be on a maintenance plan, but you can't be working out at a maintenance level and expecting to see results. Sorry, I just had to put in my two cents:)

Traci - Sounds like you have a plan. I'm going to do some sort of modified x+ rotation after I finish this round. I'm satisfied with my results right now, but I've modified the rotation to add Amy and I think that's giving it the boost it needed. I don't plan to start STS until after the summer is over. I think I can use the x+ throughout the summer and then do STS in the fall (so no I didn't get the express shipping).

Jeanette - Maybe you should dump the x and integrate some circuits. That might help build lean muscle, maintain cardio, build endurance for the upcoming biking season, and shed some fat. You haven't done them in a while either have you? It might be a good shock.

TG- I see you have decided to stick with the X. It is boring at times, but for upper body results, I don't think you can beat it.

Sandra - Sounds like you are prepared for the eating change. I haven't looked at that lately, but it must have enough carbs to keep the appetite at bay? Are you planning on adding in Amy cardio as soon as you get it?

Debra - Glad the presentation went well. I hope XDH you get things straight with XDH. At least you have the Diva.

Carol - What phase are you in? How is your motivation?

Lea - I dumped the white carbs too and I feel better. I made a big pot of chicken noodle/potato soup last night and there was a time I would have thought wow, low calorie, but now I just think mushy muscles! I opted for a salad and tuna.

Kim - I don't think I could stand it if it was that cold. How is your motivation?

I'm off to do S&A and core+ I actually think this one irritates my forearm more than C&B.

Tracy

Just a QUICK thought to TracyX's 1st paragraph.... I'm excited! If we all put our .02 cents in we shall have .30cents in the Xer Retreat Party Fund:eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

Tracy X - You always hit us between the eyes w/ reality & logic! Thanks for being who you are here!!!!!:*

Back w/ more in AM - client pulling in.....

Back for another quickie!! I don't quite know where my time went...but anyway! I did do 4DS LIS today....just the cardio as it is my recovery week...I would have done core, too, but I had to go get the diva. I will do Squeeze tomorrow which has plenty of core. I have an extended recovery week since I really can't start my new rotation until MLK day when I get back from the beach.

personals....

Traci...
You crack me up as usual! WooHoo on the 30 cents! Maybe we can get a sip of wine with that! Have fun with your client this evening.

Tracy...
I agree...You can't achieve any forward moving results on just a maintenance plan. You have to work your muscles to failure with heavy weights to achieve what I believe most of us want to achieve. I think that everyone is hitting that wall with Tony...which for some reason seems to happen about at phase 3....which is a great phase to do...not as much boredom since you are switching up workouts more....but I certainly understand hitting that wall. I hope that Cathe's STS will provide what we are all looking for with a results driven program. I wish there were more programs out there like the X so that us fitness minded ladies could have some variety! And you are right the diva is the saving grace of having been married to XDH for so long...I got the best part of him when I had her. Have fun with SA tonight...and keep those forearms safe!

Okay...I already have to run to pick up the diva from dance...I will bbl to finish up with personals...at this rate it may take me until tomorrow...lol!

CS Done! Thank goodness:) I feel good when I'm done but doing it is a chore.

I was watching HSN because I received an e-mail from Adrienne Reed stating she would be on. Needless to say I purchased her yoga top which is ADORABLE and her Earth Velocity cross trainers which are so comfortable. They have a negative heel that really helps with your posture and a inner sole that forms to your foot. I'm hoping it will improve my posture and back issues and they were only $70 compared to the $110 they cost everywhere else. Just received them today so I thought I'd share.

Traci-X, I really want to do the Total Body+ but I'll wait until week after next. I'm glad you felt it was a great workout because I was really looking forward to that one. I will use the Trainer Track as you suggested. I listened to it during the core one and it sounded useful. I'm glad you didn't feel the Kenpo+ was too boring. I don't know if the repeated cycles would get to me. I think in the future I may be able to get DH to try P90X at some point. He would get so ripped I know it:D I deleted all from the lurker before I could forward it. I didn't even open the one in my personal e-mail. I am extra careful with that kind of stuff. I changed my preferences so I can't receive e-mails from users. I figure youall know my address anyway:) I want to take a nap! I wish:p

Wendy, Are you getting excited for Thailand? Will it be all business or will you add in a bit more pleasure than the last round? I'm excited to see how it all works out! LOL about my seductive meez:D

Debra, I sure hope you get lots of massages and spa treatments, all on XDH credit card of course:) Thank goodness for Eoinn, huh? I'll pray no germs made it to you before your big birthday weekend. Only a few more days:D

Kim, It must be nice to have your DH along for the ride. I would love it if my DH did the program. He is in fairly good shape all ready and I know these workouts would spur on his underwear model career;) Yes, my knee ordeal was weird to say the least. I thought I would never be normal and the next day it was gone. I would love it if my son could earn extra money like that but around here they have adults doing all of the deliveries:(

Sandra, I'm anxious to hear how the P90X nutrition plan works. I thought about trying the first round through but didn't. At the very least you could walk away with some keeper recipes. That's the best part about a structured plan, it gets you out of your rut.Glad your elbow only bothered you mildly today. Doesn't it stink to not be 100%? My weight has really been dragging me down lately. It just keeps going up but I'm worn out after 17 years of diets and counting. I hope it will all go away one day and I won't feel the strong need to be a runway model;) Enjoy your veggie burger and salad!

Carol, My, my, weren't you a shopping fool on your birthday?:D I'm glad you had a nice one. Do you feel compelled to act older now that you are 30? Oh forget it, life's too short to act your age:p

Teddygirl, If you aren't feeling compelled to push play, change your program. If you are just worn out in general and a new program wouldn't change your motivation level I would stick with it. Sometimes when we hit these lows we need to keep plugging away. You are hard worker so I know you'll choose what's best for you.

Jeanette, Sorry you're not feeling the love for the X this time:( After reading about the new STS series I just want to jump straight to that:) I'm hoping that adding in the + series in two weeks will spur me on to finish. It sounds like that straight eight schedule will work out nicely! I was the same way about lunch when I worked. Might as well get paid to eat at your desk instead of a different room:) How is it you have such chilly temps up there? It has been about 75 all week. I feel guilty with all of this cold weather talk.

Lea, I would love to see the Packers and the Chargers in the Super Bowl but I think we're looking at a Packer/Patriot game. Bummer for both of us:( I guess we'll find out on Sunday:D The only ad thing is no more football until August:(

Laurie, Go Packers! I can say that without prejudice since their win doesn't affect us:D Of course if they're in the SB with us I'm with the Chargers 100%}( It sounds like the Kenpo+ was a winner for both you and Traci. I'm going to work that one in the next phase. Keep warm!

Tracy, I agree Tracy, when the going gets tough the tough must endure! I know for myself that if I'm dreading doing it it's usually because it's good for me. I do get bored sometimes but most of the dread factor for me comes from the hard work. I'll stick to it for this last month and hope I see results. I'll be doing the + too for the last phase. That should really boost my results. More than anything though, I'm looking forward to STS:D

I must go pick up the boys now,

Nicole

Hi again!

Nicole...
So glad you got some new clothes and shoes....always a good thing!! You have been very dedicated to your second round of the X...I am so proud of you! Sorry you got an email from some sort of creep...gotta wonder why they don't have anything better to do! Good you disabled your profile so that it doesn't happen again. As far as XDH is concerned...I am always amazed at how nasty people get when divorce is involved...For some reason I thought it wouldn't happen to us...but obviously I was mistaken.

Carol...
Way to go with the X!! It sounds like you are still really enjoying the workouts....which is great! I could be up with your DH at 3am...but I then I would want to sleep until noon...lol. The only consolation I have with XDH is that at least he lives in Russia and I don't have to see him...or really talk to him if I don't want to!!

Traci...
Of course, my dear, I will email you XDH's platinum AmEx # and you can hurry and get all the work done you want! My biggest problem with my presentation is that I apparently have a habit of saying 'you guys' when addressing the group...and my professor wants me to say something like 'you' or 'you all'. I got out of the habit of saying 'y'all' while I lived in Boston...so that was the only thing she said during the presentation itself...I was certainly creative and got a lot of group participation during my presentation...I may have run a little long....but I had 3 sections to go over whereas the others only had one. I am going to preread my next chapter so that I know an easier section to sign up for! I guess I need to order the X supplemental dvds, hunh? Do you think I would like them?? I will be looking forward to hearing about your advanced pyramid plan that you have. Since getting pissed with XDH instead of hurt I am much more able to deal with all of his BS!

Sandra....
Dear soul, how are you today?? Am I confused? I thought you were quitting the X because of your elbow issues...I certainly may have missed another post to the contrary this weekend since I was a bit out of pocket. I am definitely proud of you for following the X diet...I hope that gives you the loss of weight boost that you need. I hate that bloated heavy feeling. I have been hanging pretty steady about a pound or so up from where I really like to be. I will see where I am at the end of my extended recovery week and do some measurements then to base the rest of the year on. The one good thing about stress is that I tend to be less hungry...that wasn't true in my younger years, but now it seems to be the case. At least only one of the little urchins touched me at DD's school today...and he didn't look to be infected with anything...I can only hope at this point...LOL!

Laurie...
Sounds like you had a busy and fun weekend...I remember when we lived in Minnesota what a huge thing the Vikings and Packers were! And since I hate Minnesota...Go Packers!!! Do I remember reading that your DD's took over the workout room the other day?? How great! It is wonderful to get the kids involved in fitness early. It will make the rest of their lives easier, I think. My DD was complaining how tired her feet were after dance today...LOL! She does have 3 classes back to back which last almost 2 hours...Well, there is her exercise for the day!

Lea...
Dear woman, so glad to see you around a bit more. I am glad that you seem to have found a balance in your body with your dietary habits. It is good that you have found what works for you.

Jeanette...
Sorry you are not feeling the love for the X right now. What do you think is the biggest difference from this round from the last?? I think I said this before, but if your workouts are no longer fun and you dread it, it is not worth it. I'm not saying you shouldn't do a workout just because it is hard....but if after it is done, you don't feel better for it...then it is time to move on to something else. Don't take this as me talking you out of finishing...but life is too short to be doing something that you don't enjoy. If you are not seeing the gains that you are looking for...you have to look at your effort during the workout and the workout itself....and decide what is holding you back. Good luck with whatever you decide...and we are all here to cheer you on no matter what you do!!

Kim....
Make sure you give DH a pat on the back from all of us Xers for sticking with the program...I think men have a harder time sticking with such a structured program than women. Ugh...on you and DH 'helping' DS with the paper route...I know that it means you guys do a lot. Which marathon are you planning on doing? Yes, the beach getaway is just the ticket...I am really looking forward to it! I love DD to death, of course, but it will be nice to have an adult weekend.

Wendy...
I guess that 4am wake up call just did you in for the day since we haven't seen you back!

Okay....FINALLY caught up! Hope all of you MIA Xers are doing well. Kisses to all!!

Debra

Good evening ladies,
Today was a busy day, as usual, but I did make the time to get in a 20 minute walk and enjoyed listening to my 70's tunes. It was nice getting off work at 4:00 this afternoon. Love the straight 8!

Traci, what are the Pyramid workouts that you are going to do? How often do you do full body? I think today was the last day of the X for me. Just not fun, though I've hardly done many of the workouts lately. I think what I'm struggling with is not seeing any results for my efforts. I'm not saying it's the workouts itself, it's my eating that needs to change. I'm also not saying that I'm being bad with my eating. My body is probably in starvation mode and I need to get the metabolism burning again. I like feeling at least hungry, not this blah and bloat. Tells me that I'm probably not burning many calories during the day at all. Hoping Weight Watchers gets things going. We'll see. At least I have more variety right now. So you've always been an early riser? I wasn't as a kid, but sure am now. My DH has no problem getting up early for work either, of course our early is your late. I get up at 4 am and he gets up at 4:30. Much better than my 2 am risings when I worked from 6-4 each day. That was crazy, but I did what I had to do. Sounds like you had a great workout today. You must not have done the Tracey Parts workout that I did. I liked the little bit of pilates that is in this one. Maybe I need to see about some pilates. Any suggestions? Is Wendell going to work out with you? This is the first I've heard of that. Go easy on the poor man, okay? LOL!

Carol, glad you are feeling the effects of the bands. What program do you track your calories with? Day 2 of WW went fine for me.

Laurie, glad to hear you enjoyed the new Kenpo. Lots of people seem to like the new workouts. I'm undecided about STS and think I will just wait for a while. I would hate to develop a dread for something that cost so much, though I probably think it will have more variety and interest for me than P90X. Sorry about the company. Hope things get worked out. When do the faires start?

Nicole, good job on finishing CS today. Dreya Rolls I can do, it's the prison pushups and chataranga runs that are tough for me. Also the banana/supermans. Bananas are difficult, let alone combining superman with it. I like to eat bananas though :p. You must be feeling better and has the knee problem vanished? We had a gal slip on the ice at work today and she dislocated her knee. She was in terrible pain from what I hear. I hate dislocations. Freaks me out. How exciting to get a new top and shoes! I love new shoes and clothes. Even golf shoes! I may have to start looking for golf clothes too. So sorry about the lurker. Hope he/she is gone, gone. Yep, it's been cold here, darn it. It's supposed to warm up into the 40's this week. Bathing suit weather.

Debra, I knew your presentation would go well, ^5 to you! Glad you got to order STS. I'm surprised that you can still order stuff on your XDH's CC. If it was my DH, that CC would have been gone months ago. Hey, take advantage while you can. Thanks for the cheers for me and the X, but I agree that if it's not fun or giving results, why do it?

Sandra, darn the weight. Any time I get away from the scale, the weight sneaks up on me. I don't wear tight clothes so how my clothes fit is really not the best way to judge whether I've gotten heavier. Hope you find the key to the weight loss. I so hate it that our bodies adapt so easily. So the Cook It Quick book is a good one? I'm so into not really making recipes. I'm more of an a la carte type gal. Probably just lazy. I had 2 tacos for dinner tonite, with fat free refried beans instead of the highly seasoned ground beef that DH had in his. I've eaten more today than I have for a while (18 points is what is allowed for me), and I'm really hungry, but in a good way. Hope that means I'm burning some fat off. Or maybe it just means I'm hungry. I did get my walk in today. 20 minutes is all, I count it as my 2 breaks for the day.

Tracy, thanks for the pep talk. I think circuits are a great idea for me. Hmmmm... what will I do tomorrow? I just hate working extra hard with the X on the weight work and not even maintaining. I think I'm puffier/fatter now than before I started. That's what's not making me happy. It just seems like it takes so very long to lose a pound and such a short time or a splurge to gain it. Okay, I'm going to quite whining now.

I'd better sign off now. DH liked Lonesome Dove last night. The 2nd episode is on tonite. Not sure if there is a 3rd or not. He loves westerns.

Jeanette

Here's the top. It has the perfect amount of support without being too tight. The other bonus is that it's made out of organic cotton. I know, I know, you all think I'm being mean and trying to get you to spend money:p Misery(poor) likes company;)
