Xers------Madness on Monday!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

I'm running out of ideas again. Madness only as most of us prepare for the holiday rush. I'll check personals and be back.

Tracy

Hi all,

I had a very nice day outside for the majority of the day romping around in the woods. I walked for quite some time, then we ate then I got in the buggy and rode. It is not for the faint of heart either, but it ran great and is lots of fun. I was tired yesterday, so walking was really all I needed. I wanted to do some yoga when we got home, but I just didn't have any time. Then I ate some regular pasta, which I haven't eaten in so long and it tasted so good.

The healthy brownies were fine for me, but no one else could eat them. There were some interesting comments. I'd like to find some better tasting brown rice powder because the stuff I have is rather nasty. They ended up having about 24 grams of protein and carbs per 200 calorie serving which is pretty good. That may be a little low because I'm not sure that when you commbine the rice and beens, yes they had black beans in them, that it doesn't boost the protein content. Once I revise the recipe I might share. The consistency wasn't a problem and they looked just like cake.

Traci - Interesting on the Slo-Mo. I think the legs are good, but they still make my back tight, and I went a few pounds less than she did, except for the first exercise and I went quite a bit less. I do feel it the next day differently in my legs which is a good thing. I wouldn't do that series weekly though. I can't wait to try the step. It looks complex and fun. I am disappointed with Cathe's recent step offerings, this series and last. Although they might be difficult, for me they just don't have a fun factor. The last one was worse than this one as far as choreography. OK, enough bitch*ng. Maybe I went too heavy on the one bicep moove and used to heavy a band or maybe it was because I had done shoulders the day before, so I'll give the bicep work another chance. I am getting there with the legs. In another couple of months, hopefully everything on my legs will be muscle:) I have to have some focus since I focused on upper for so long it is where I want it to be.

Debra - Wow! You are getting out your Xmas decorations all ready! I wish I had the time, but I can only take one holiday at a time. Since I took this new job, I can never leave early and often have to stay late. It is really infringing on my spare time. We flirt with getting an artificial tree, but I haven't made the plunge yet. It would be a lot easier.

Hi Carol - I see you are still not on the sick list.

Lea - Glad you enjoyed Magically Hips. Just remember to balance that with back bends, otherwise I think it may lead to a little imbalance. What is in a Big Matt? Inquiring minds want to know. I'm doing PUB this week too. I really like that one.

Nicole - I hope the birthday went well. We are for the first time in 25 years staying at home for the holiday. I can't wait. I dreaded the driving.

Wendy - I think if you want a dog that small dogs can be worth the effort. I think they are trainable, but require more work. DH and I commented last night that the little Chihauhuas would be perfect for people who just want companionship. The little one is so incredibly sweet.

Jeanette - I like the idea about the foil. I didn't ride this week or last, but DS's bike should be here soon, so I'll have someone to ride with. If the weather stays like this we should be able to go. the buggy was great, and I'll post some pictures. We took some yesterday. It was definitely overkill for the obstacles we have on our property, but he is still working out the kinks. Nothing major yesterday, just kinked brake lines.

Off to work, yet again. Two nasty meetings today and another one on Wednesday with supposedly the most nasty parent yet. I didn't think they could get any worse. Did I tell you all that the one parent flipped me off in a meeting and I wasn't saying a word? The supervisor just about was out of her seat and threatened to stop the meeting if verbal or non-verbal abuse continued. I'm not sure what education has come to. The parents of the kids with signficant behavior issues didn't like our proposed schedule, are trying another school and they don't want the kid (because of the behaviors and the parents). The meeting should be interesting. He has been out of school for 20+ days, so when ever he comes back it will be a disaster. I'm just praying he doesn't return to the school I'm in. It will send staff and admin over the edge.

Today is APX (Bento- All Pump Extreme) Full Body
According to Amy the APX compliments her Slo Mo for Cross Training so thought I’d dust it off. I always did like this one although I know Ms. Start-A-Week-Early Sandra didn’t quite like all the equipment changes.;-);-)

Tracy X- COACH!
OMG! The parent thng.... I am being serious here - are some of the childrens problems either a) inherited and/or b) worsened because of parents? I can only imagine all the anger, guilt, hatred etc... that a parent with special needs child must have but really Tracy! Their behavior is often just plain out of control & less than civilized! I again give you so many kudos for choosing the field you have. You must have already earned your afterlife angel wings! :*
LOL on the brownies! Well at least they were edible!!! Sometimes I'll eat a whole batch of something like that only to think the next day- I'd NEVER make/eat that again! Somehow I feel if I made them I must eat them! :7 ~ I do hope you like your new Bento Step- its getting good reviews! I think for me I have to be careful with workouts on judging them too harshly the first or 2nd time... I tend to love or toss a w/o and I'm sure mood of the day, the weights I selected, and general life issues affect my decision. Maybe that will be my 2008 promise- DO NOT JUDGE THY INSTRUCTOR TOO QUICKLY!}(
Also- Tracey finished shipping the Parts Series!!! I am stoked about the lower especially in that! It will actually be good starting X-Lean next week as it's be so easy adding leg work into it if I want since there isnt a Plyo day.
What are your holiday dayes this year? Do you get off 2 weeks for any holiday????

Back after I look in on yesterday afternoons going-ons! xxoo

… Personals… Just a few left from yesterday so HI & HUGS to all I dont comment to yet today!

Jeanette- XX’er in training!
Hooray on a clean-less weekend! That’s how its suppose to be! What a fun riding day (minus flat) It is warm this year isnt it?! ` Would love the Sweet Potatoe Recipe when you get the final topping… No rush for me as it will be an AFTER T-Giving dish for me- I eat sweet potatoes (naked of course! – THEM not me!) all year so a good “bad” recipe sounds yummy as a treat meal! I am with ya all the way on decorations- I LOVE looking at all the bling! I just want to enjoy OTHER PEOPLES! Part of that is because I have no decorating sense at all tho so my house is a disaster of all my childhood stuff and DH’s “store bought designer stuff”…It’s a crazy look indeed! Oooooh, more golf today?? FABULOUS!!! Matter of fact until that raise shows on check I think you should golf daily! LOL

Wendy- XX’er in training!
Post Broccoli Casserole woman!!! I must say I am VERY proud of you for saying Goodbye before hanging up the phone w/ CA! That’s why I ONLY talk to my mom on email- I cant control the “Sorry we must have gotten disconnected” fib! LOLOL Hope you got to do Long & Lean!!

Carol- Virgin X’er in training!
Happy to hear that HIS was checked off the list- that means you are still feeling healthy! Wonder what you’re cooking up today??? Maybe a 70 minute terminator???

Debra - X Coach with Pompoms
Details Details Details!!!! What was mom like around CB? What was HE like around her??? What happened that was most enjoyable? What happened that made you cringe???? I WANNA KNOW IT ALL!!! ~~~ Confused on T-Day… Is your mom friends with this X-Couple? Is T-giving at someone else’s house… sorry0- I just wanna know how this transpired! I LOVE YOUR LIFE!!! It’s a Soap Opera that puts General Hospital to shame! LOLOLOL

Off to start the day - Hopefully early workout- then errands!
:*

Hi all...Planning on a visit with Eoin today. And then I have some errands to run....nothing too exciting...sorry to disappoint Traci!

Traci...Mom and CB got along well, I thought. The only thing that made me cringe was they were standing out front of the pizza place when I drove up...so no idea what was said during that couple of minutes! Everything else went smooth...Let's see...to explain turkey day...I have some friends that my mom has known as long as I have who she invited to come to her place for the holiday. I didn't think they would come since they have family in the area, but I found out yesterday that they are...I have not told them I am dating and although they are very supportive of my decision to divorce, they are going to be weirded out that I am dating and that my man is going to be at my mom's for T-day...since the only man they have eve seen me with is XDH. Does that catch you up?? LOL!

Tracy...Sounds like you had a really enjoyable day yesterday. Glad you took it as a rest and just got some exercise while walking around. Did you guys take the dogs? I know, I am a bit crazed about Xmas...It is the one holiday that I really decorate for. Sounds like you have some not so fun adventures to look forward to at work this week. I commend you for keeping your cool during those meetings. I am sure I would start yelling right back! I hope things go better than expected.

Jeanette...Sounds like you had a great ride yesterday. So glad the weather is cooperating. One of the reasons I haven't gotten on my bike lately is that I can't figure out what to wear to ride. I figure I will either be too hot or too cold. Yep, you gotta watch Ocean's 13...I am sure you will like it.

Okay...gotta run for now and get the diva moving toward the door for school. Have a great morning ladies!
Debra

Happy Monday Xers!

Today will be a light homeschool day :) Lots of T-giving stuff included. I'm meeting up with our very own Wendy for lunch and banging out LIS later. As for the germ infestation, I'm happy to report good news :D While my DS has no voice (he loses it with just about every cold bug), he's pretty much FEELING ok, and the girls are 99% well (just the random sneeze or runny nose)! DH is much better, too, despite being a pathetic, sick man on Saturday, lol. He got up and out to work with no prodding from me :) And, the best news of all, is that (knock on wood), I'm still germ free :D :D :D Maybe all those cyber sprays of antisceptics worked!! YAY!

Jeanette -- Lucky girl doing no housework this weekend!! Your ride sounds wonderful :) I'm envious of you riding in just shorts and short sleeves! I hope your weather holds (hey, I've got enough rain here for the both of us!) and you can get your golfing in :)

Tracy -- A day in the woods is my kind of day! LOL about the comments on the healthy brownies. My kids always comment on stuff that's healthy, too. Good luck with your meetings. I can't believe the behavior of some parents! YIKES! What a poor example for their kids! I hope those parents are well behaved for you this week.

Traci-X -- Ooh, I do love The Terminator, but I'm sticking with my plan :D I'll keep that one in mind for a recovery week during the X, though ;-)

Hi to everyone else! I hope you all have a great (and not too mad) Monday :)

Carol

Good morning,
Today was Muscle Max Timesaver 56 minutes. Enjoyed it. If it's not raining this afternoon, may get off early this afternoon and play some golf. I watched a "shootout" on the Golf Channel last night. It was entertaining and I think DH kind of liked it too. The players were playing for charity and really seemed to enjoy themselves. That's my goal, to have a good time and play okay too.

Tracy, hope this week isn't too crazy for you. DH and I got the ingredients that I need for my Thanksgiving meal offering last night. I look forward to Wednesday night when I can start them. I can make the jello then, also boil and peel the sweet potatoes. Sounds too easy. When DS was riding motocross, he built all these little berms on the property. Lots of them were made with the excess horse manure. Glad you enjoyed yourself yesterday. Bet you are proud of your DS's mechanical abilities. Both of our boys are really mechanical and I think it's not the norm for so many kids growing up nowadays. They can do so many of their own vehicle repairs and aren't at the mercy of an auto repair shop for the simple things, like I would be if I didn't have DH. Crossing my fingers that your upcoming meetings aren't too upsetting to all concerned.

Traci, the topping that I think I'll use for the sweet potato casserole goes like this:

1/2 C. light brown sugar
1/2 C. pecan pieces
1/4 C. flour
4 T. melted butter
dash salt

I found lots of online pecan toppings and most of them were something like this. I bought walnuts so will use those. LOL about the Christmas decorations. I have some pretty old, but not antique stuff. Just old, ready to be retired stuff.

Debra, glad the meeting with your mother went well. I'm sure it was just chit chat going on between them when you drove up. I'll bet anything that those friends that are coming won't be concerned at all about you dating. I wouldn't myself, especially after all the time you were alone. If you have any questions about what to wear while riding, let me know. It was probably in the high 50's to 60's yesterday when we were riding. Shorts were okay with me. Arm warmers are one of those really useful items. You just slide them on when it's chillier and when you heat up, you can unroll them and stuff them in a pocket. They also make leg warmers too so if you think it might warm up later, you're not stuck wearing tights.

Carol, my sister has homeschooled her kids up thru college age. They are really nice kids. She has 4 of them, only one still home. I'm so envious that you get to meet up with Wendy today! Enjoy LIS. LOL re: your DH being a pathetic, sick man. Aren't all of them pathetic when they are sick? We just don't understand how sick they are do we? LOL! My DH claims his colds are much worse than mine. Right. Glad everyone is getting better. Wouldn't it be a bummer not to be able to taste the Thanksgiving meal. We need some rain/snow badly in this country. Usually, the ski resorts have opened by now. No chance of that this weekend, plus it's too warm to make snow.

BBL,

Jeanette

Good Morning:)

Saturday, I logged my workout on computer, oh by the way, saturday I did hour jog & GS legs, Sunday Imax II:) anyhoo, went to take my bubble bath, decided I’d see what was going on with you guys and BANG, computer monitor was black I turned computer back off and when it came back on it said couldn’t find Window software, huh! I guess my puter diedx( x( Any suggestions on what I should do?

This morning, I did Low Max fun…fun…fun…I'll check back, I was late this morning and we already we have 6 reports due out by noon.

TeddyGirlx( I do believe what occured is called: Computer Crashed... You have a couple of options... If its worth saving you can TRY to have a repair place locate all your data on the hard-drive and restore it- can be costly & takes time... Other option: Get a new one.... Unfortunately if it doesnt come back to life after- re-booting it (power off for a few minutes & re-start) then its CRASHED

WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD! Lesson: Back Up Thy Data!

:* {{{hugs}}}:* {{{hugs}}}:* {{{hugs}}}:* {{{hugs}}}

Tracey: what causes a computer too crash? and how do I back up data, are you saying always back up information onto a disk? That sucks

Morning Xers,

I just lost my post!!! I was going to put it in word first, but thought what the heck. x(

Todays workout will be Tae Bo Advanced Live #2. Dance class tonight also. DD's only have two days of school, so they will be more than willing to go to school this week. :D

I ended up going with DH to Chicago to look for fabric yesterday. The young lady that will be playing my attendant came with us, and she was able to find material for a complete dress for at total of $55. She still has to find trim, but still a great price for one of these dresses.

Our four legged house guest is going home today. I will stick with only one dog. :7 He did manage to sleep though the last two nights just fine. Must have just been homesick on the first night, and he didn't seem to want to play. At least in the way that Cami wanted to play. He didn't understand the game of keep away! :7

Tracy, Your walk in the woods sounded really nice and relaxing. Even though it is cold in the early mornings. I have been loving my walks. When the stars and moon are out it makes for a great way to start the day. LOL about the brownies, I probably would get the same reaction. Oh what a way for you to start you holidays with these types of meetings. These kids are at the Middle School age right? Too bad the parents have to act the same age. Take responsibility for your childrens actions is what I say! And probably your silent reaction too! You are one tough lady to have people give you the finger, I'd be giving it right back.

Traci, Sorry to hear about your server nightmare. Did Wendell have a good time at the game? Guess we are painting again this week. Our oldest DD's room is getting a makeover too. She is having some wild colors (three total) with strips and circles. It will be interesting getting these circles on the wall. But the girl knows what she wants. We are starting on Thursday, and hoping to finish by Friday. :D Our T-Day will just be the four of us, and we will still have all the fixings. I just will be cooking up a turkey breast. But the girls have requested their pumpkin pie. :9 So I don't want to disapoint them on that. I received an e-mail today from beachbody on the new P90X items. The sneak peaks they have where not working, so I didn't get a chance to see what Kenpo was like. Did you get a chance to see the page? If not I can post a link. It does give descriptions of the workouts.

Debra, Oh you are getting into the holiday spirit. :D Sorry to hear about the ornaments. I would be upset also. Love that you could chase away the grinch with a new purchase. We have a white tree in our dining room. (this is one of many ;-) ) We have that one with blue lights on it. Looks beautiful.

Nicole, Happy belated birthday to your DS. Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday. :D Mixed with lots of yummy food.

Jeanette, I didn't get to watch either NASCAR or my Packers. And of course this is the race that my fav driver wins the race. :7 And the Packers win again. I'm still kind of shocked that they are doing so well. I still have to get some shopping done. Not to much though since it is only the four of us. I'm actually looking forward to the small little family thing. Wonder what they will say if I try to make them dress up for the dinner. :D I'm keeping that one in my own brain for now. The sweet potato recipe sounds good. :9

Wendy, How was the Long & Lean. I am suppose to receive that one soon. Can't wait to try it out. ;-) If you have a broccoli casserole then by all means post away. That is the one veggie that my whole family will eat!!! :7

Carol, Good thing that germ vacated befor Thanksgiving started.

TG, Don't have any advice on the computer problems. Don't know that much about them myself. Lowmax is a great workout.

Have to get going to a meeting,

Laurie

Okay, since you asked. Here is the unhealthiest way to prepare broccoli.

Broccoli Casserole

3 each 10 ounce packages of frozen chopped broccoli finely chopped
3/8 pound onion cheese cubed or sliced
1 1/2 cans cream of mushroom soup
2 stalks celery chopped
1 large onion chopped
1/2 stick of butter
1/2 pound of mushrooms sliced
1 bag Potato Chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook broccoli according to package directions. Drain broccoli and place in casserole dish. Slice mushrooms and set aside. Chop onions and celery. Melt butter in large skillet. Add onions and celery. Cook over medium heat until onions are clear and soft. Stir in mushrooms. Add cream of mushroom soup. Cut up onion cheese and add. Stir and cook until cheese is melted. Pour cheese mixture over broccoli. Don't mix, just pour over. Crush potato chips on top. Don't cover. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes. Serve.

Notes: You can use fresh, steamed, finely chopped broccoli too. You can find onion cheese or cheese with chives and young scallions in the deli's speciality cheese section of the grocery store. Not all stores carry it. But, I usually can find a couple that do. It's like an American cheese infused with onion. As for the amount. I have to wonder if that was a typo of mine. I usually use between a 1/4 pound to a 1/2 pound of onion cheese. Don't bother making it without it. The cheese is a crucial ingredient. I prefer Lays Original Potato Chips. Just a textural preference. You can make this ahead of time, omitting the potato chips, and set in refrigerator till ready to bake. Crush potato chips over before baking. Oh, you can also make your own cream of mushroom soup instead of buying canned. But, who has time for that!!!!! Anyone?

Okay ladies, I've gotta get some things done before I head out to meet Carol and her 99% healthy children.:7

BBL for personals and general chatter.

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

Classic/Week1/Day1/CB&ARX (+LIS cardio)

Hello!

Traci, so glad you're still with us!! How come your neighbours no longer have service, but you do? How are you able to have internet access when the service provider has gone out of business? What a lousy thing for them to do. Couldn't a "going out of business" email have been sent out to the customers? I hope Wendell's business is able to make a smooth transition.

Tracy, I'll get that scalloped sweet potato recipe to you today. I just need to find it. It sounds like you had a really fun day yesterday. Nice!! Too bad you have such a crap week coming up.

Debra, 4-5 Christmas trees??!! You must live in very large homes to have room for them all. How will your new trees be delivered to you? I won't start decorating until the first weekend in December, but many people around here have already got their lights up. I've seen a tree or two in peoples' windows, as well. The season is upon us. Yikes. My parents were in Alaska in August, and there's a tourist trap up there called The Santa Claus House or something like that. They sell Christmas stuff all year round and Santa and Mrs. Claus make daily appearances. You might consider moving there.

Wendy, You're meeting up with Carol today? Fun!

Carol, You're meeting up with Wendy today? Fun!

Laurie, No more doggy sleepovers, huh?

Teddygirl, Ouch. The Blue Screen of Death is what that used to be called. What a shame. I hope you can afford a new system. We're shopping around for a new 'puter, and they've certainly come down in price. Laptops especially seem to be much cheaper.

Jeanette, Another busy weekend for you? Are you still enjoying your bowl of breakfast oatmeal? And when you start P90X again, will you be altering your diet at all? I'm just trying to focus on clean eating, with a calorie cap around 1800/day.

Nicole, What are your plans for this week? Will you be hosting a big TG dinner?

Lea, Have you tried any of your Shiva Rea's yogas? I'm wondering how you like them?

Chest and Back went well this morning. ARX was fine until those oblique v-ups. I hate those. They go so fast and if I'm not doing them right, I find myself doing a tricep push up more than an oblique exercise. I prefer Cathe's more controlled jacknifes, and may sub those in the future.

Lower Intensity Step was a great warm up for the weights. Got the blood flowing, muscles warm, without sapping my energy. Good combo.

Now what's all this natter I've been reading about me starting a week early? What's wrong with that? If ya'll wanted to join me, you could have......

BBL,
Sandra

Sleek Physique- cardio + total body weights and abs (50 min)

I was really planning on doing 4DS KB but was side tracked making Christmas cards on the internet and wimped out:( I am bound and determined to get the 4DS workouts in before P90X but I'm not sure it's going to happen. Lately I have not been interested into doing high intensity cardio. I think I'm gun shy.

Good news! My DS's doctor told her her other baby will be just fine and the dead fetus will absorb into her system. She said it was very common with twin pregnancies. The radiologist who scared her with the molar pregnancy comments was uneducated in that area I guess. My DS's doctor told her that happens primarily to Asians. That'll teach her to listen to a radiologist:)

~Jeanette, Sorry you got a flat tire on your bike ride. At least you weren't stuck out there for an hour and a half while your spouse drove right past you:p You are really getting golf practice in aren't you? Gee, I'm glad I don't watch NASCAR. That sounds like a long race! How fun to get to chop down your own tree. There aren't any good places around here to do that. The one that was the closest was burned by the fires. I feel so bad for the people who owned it. 25 years of hard work, down the drain:( My son was given quite a few Transformers for his birthday and a wrist rocket so he could shoot rocks and cost me money:p That was DH's idea. You're making me hungry with your recipes:9

~Tracy, It sounds like you had a nice active day yesterday. I like those kind of days but don't get them often enough. I'm glad you get to stay home for Thanksgiving. I bet it makes it easier to control what you eat. I'm glad you enjoyed the pasta. I am so bloated today from the excessive eating but I know it will go away soon enough. Glad your experimenting in the kitchen to share great, healthy recipes:) So sorry you are having to deal with problem parents. I imagine they don't put two and two together and realize that they are further handicapping their children with their behavior.

~Traci-X, How was your busy client day? I bet you had some good burn after all of the demonstrating! I won't give you my sweet potato casserole recipe because it's not half as healthy as Jeanette's:p Still feeling Long & Lean from yesterday? I love feeling the affects of yoga. What are you and Wendell doing for Thanksgiving? I forgot if you mentioned it, but then I'm a little slow lately:)

~Debra, How is the decorating going? I can't wait to see the pictures of the final product! When will you get the other trees in the mail? I hope soon. Glad dinner went well with your mom and CB. If you like him so will she. Just remind yourself that XDH is also dating several women and you shouldn't feel guilty for a minute dating someone. He is the one who left you alone. I'm sure your friends will be fine with the situation. Besides they haven't seen your XDH in a while either. I love your Eoin quotes of the day. They have a good way of bringing things into perspective:)

~Carol, I'm glad you get to spend some qt with Wendy. I'm also happy to hear the family is feeling better:) My DH has been known to go to work with the flu so don't feel bad sending DH off. Have fun with LIS. I have to watch that one again before I attempt it.

~Teddygirl, What a bummer about your computer! I wish I knew how to fix it but I am totally helpless when my computer stops working. I cry to DH to fix it:) Low Max is a goodie! Glad you enjoyed it.

~Laurie, Don't you hate losing your post? I had it happen once and I almost cried}{ Glad your furry friend is going home today. All that excitement must have been to much:) Don't you love getting deals and seeing others do it too? The other day my total at the grocery store was $103 and I gave her my coupons and it came to $42! I was so proud of myself:D

~Wendy, Just three more days! Are you getting excited now? Are you going to do Thanksgiving early? The broccoli casserole looks good! I may have to try it. Deep breaths, you'll be fine:)

~Sandra, I thought you were starting with us on the 26th. Now you'll be a week off:( Oh well, you can let us know how we'll be doing in a week;) I am going to my mom's for breakfast on Thanksgiving and my in-laws for dinner. Two excessive eating days in one week, not good}{

I'm listening to Christmas music and The Carpenters are singing so it's distracting me. I love their music!

Must go wax my DB's shoulders and trim his hair:p

Nicole

Bring it!!!

Hi...I am back for some quickie personals....

Sandra...Now that you mention it, I think I will move to Alaska...Why didn't I think of that before??? It's not the the houses are so big as the Xmas trees are tall and skinny....last year I had a tree in the dining room, family room, DD's room and the foyer...also had small table top trees in the kitchen and the living room. So there you go! I can fit a lot in! Congrats on your first day back to the X!

Nicole...So glad to hear that your sister is going to be fine and that the healthy fetus should be good too. It is sad to lose one, but as long as the rest of the pregnancy is healthy, I am sure she will be okay. Thanks for all of the encouragement about XDH and CB, too. My new trees will be here next week....but I am pretty done with everything else except for DD's room...so I will have plenty of time to do those when they get here. I still need to do a few outside lights, too. Sorry the workout didn't happen...but there is always tomorrow.

Wendy...Thanks so much for the casserole recipe...I printed it out...I can't believe you are going to be gone in a mere 3 days! You will be able to check in periodically, right??? Since you have the laptop?

Gotta run...back in the am....
Debra

Oh my, what a quiet group today. Here's the recipe for Tracy:

Scalloped Sweet Potatoes

1 garlic clove, minced
2lbs sweet potatoes (2 cans)
salt & pepper & nutmeg for seasoning (just sprinkle over layers)
1 1/2 cups whipping cream
1/3 cup milk

Lightly grease shallow 1 1/2 quart baking dish and sprinkle garlic over bottom.

Peel and thinly slice potatoes. Arrange layer in bottom of dish. Season with salt and nutmeg.

Whisk together cream and milk and spoon 2 tbsp evenly over potato layer. Continue layering potatoes with cream and seasonings, finishing with cream topping.

Bake uncovered in preheated 300F oven until tender, about 2 hours.

Serves 6.

Nicole - Yeah, I'll be on a different week, but you all are doing the lean rotation and I'm doing classic, so I'd be doing different workouts anyway. Your thanksgiving day sounds like it will be very enjoyable. You'll just have to knock out a workout at lunch :) I'm relieved to hear your sister's baby is going to be fine. I can only imagine the stress this put her under. Is she only a few weeks along? I read that many twins get reabsorbed before anyone is even aware they're there.

Debra - Yes, Alaska is the place for you. You like the cold and dark, right? I imagine there will be lots of napping going on. Northern Exposure is one of my favourite tv shows. Did you ever watch it?

My biceps are stiffening up. I think I'll be feeling today's workout until at least Thursday.

Have a good night,
Sandra

Good Evening Ladies,

I'm 35% into packing. It would be quicker to list what I've packed than what still needs packed.:7 Taking a break to check-in.

Baron Long and Lean is LONG. The poses are forever. Not as forever as the Ivengar class had us hold poses if you can imagine!!! Nice workout. His flow is very familiar to the affiliated studios. He's much better in this one than the Live Series. Traci, That's Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga Live Series. It includes three practices: Soul of Strength (60 min), Core Power (30 min), and Unlocking Athletic Power (30 min).

Met Carol and her sweet dc today at McDonalds. She was soooo good and ate a salad. I had a Big Mac combo meal. :p :9 She's ready to bring it on with DOUBLES!!! People, explain to her the need to not sub Plyo!LOLOLOLOL

Tracy :D :D
I hope your meeting was abuse-free!!! There is really no excuse for ghetto nastiness!!! You have more restraint than I would have in that situation! No telling WWWD if someone flipped me the bird to my face! I guess it would have to depend on what time of the month it was.}( OMW! Healthy brownies!:7 Is there even such a thing?!?! No wonder your boys are always asking if it's healthy!:7 Oh, I don't know how much work I'd invest in a pet. I mean, I love my companion dog; but, the kids take care of her now. She's easy enough to take care. She can hold herself for several hours at a time. I was thinking of a Bishon Frise. They have real hair and don't shed like my dog does!

Traci :D :D
Are you still with us? How many pieces of equipment does Amy have you use? I tried finding the true answer to this after reading a couple of posts on VF about APXtreme. Just wanted to know how true they were or if they were exaggerating. I should tell you that the CA must of had a few drinks in her when she called. She KNOWS I won't talk to her if she's had ONE alcoholic beverage. I did call her this afternoon. I was so proud of her. She listened to what I had to say without interruption and she kept her cool. When I asked her what's so wrong about spending ONE day with my friends, she sincerely replied, "Vendy (she can't pronounce /W/), I don't even want you out of my sight for ONE minute." After I shook off the initial creepiness, I realized she was just being a mom. So, I suggested that we could visit them together when we go to Bangkok in Jan to pick up my sister at the airport. She agreed, and I'm going to hold her to it! Yeah, it's easy to talk tough when the CA is 100's of miles away!:7

Debra:D :D
Oh Debra! Can't your mom call her friends and give them a head's up about CB? Isn't that what a good hostess should do? Protect her guests from surprises.:7 I'm bringing my laptop. I don't know when or how I'll get to the Internet Cafes or Starbucks. I wonder if my mom will make me take her. I suddenly have visions of my mother watching my every typo. OMW! HELP!!!! Deep breath! Okay. I'm better now. Anyhow, I'll try to find the closest internet cafe and transportation to it when I arrive. It might not be for a few days. My mom wants to go to the village the day after we arrive. And, there's NO internet access there!!!

Carol:D :D
Are you busy watching TWISS, SWI, and TTC?:7 Has your mind exploded yet?:7 While I was driving home, I was thinking that we should plan of a Power Heated Yoga date one weekend after I get back. The studio in Malvern is about 10 minutes away from where we met today. We could meet at Jenn's house and drive over together. They have classes scheduled pretty much all the time. Here's the link: www.poweryogaworks.com Don't say no. Think about it. It'll be fun!}(

Jeanette
I sure hope you're having a good time playing golf. So, you're half-way to your goal then! I'm sure you play better than you think. At least, you play better than me!:+ OMW! I had to LOL when I read about pink shoes being in your destiny. Your son used to do motorcross. Before I dated Phil, I dated a guy who raced. BORING! DIRTY! Had to cut him loose. Not so much because sitting all day at the tracks wreaked havoc on my pores. No, he just wanted a trophy gf, someone to stand around and look pretty. Well, he was too young and too poor to deserve this one!:7 :7 :7 I think that's why I don't get excited about decorating. My ornaments are past retirement age too!:+

TeddyGirl :D :D
Get thee a PC repairman. Remember, I got the blue screen of death this past summer. We ended up buying a new computer. I had them fix my old Dell in the past. My son got it all infected from downloading Limewire. It costs a couple of hundred dollars depending on the problem to have them fix it for you. I still need to take my old Dell and have them fix it. One of the drivers went. I'm not sure if they can fix it or how much it will cost. If they fix it, I need to back up my pictures. If it goes again, I'm giving it away! Wait, I'm already giving it to my kids.

Debra AGAIN :D :D
Love the Eoin quotes!

Laurie :D :D
UGH! If you're not going to put your posts in word: highlight your post, right click on the post and select copy. Then click on the screen to de-highlight. (Is that a Wendy-word? LOL) Then if you lose your post, you can open a new reply window and paste (control v) it. Fabric is so expensive!!! Sometimes it's cheaper to buy them from a third world country. LOL Will you be making your dd repaint her room when she leaves the nest? Or do you plan on keeping everything there to show her future dh and children how crazy she was!}( Um, copy and paste the email from BB. They NEVER email me a thing!!!!

Sandra:D :D
Well, check you out Ms. Soon to be XX! Only 89 days to go!:D You just get on with your bad self!! Let us know if you get any DOMS tomorrow.

Nicole
Thank you for sharing the good news about your DS's baby! Thank goodness she was early in her pregnancy. You know, they say that most of us started out life with a co-twin, but our mothers lost it before they knew they were carrying twins. Maybe that's why I always wished I had a twin sister. I never desired giving birth to twins. Don't get me wrong, I love being their mother. I just didn't desire the extra work!:7 No, we're not doing Thanksgiving early. I did eat an entire pumpkin pie on my own. It took me a week. But, it's all gone!:9 When I get home, we'll do a celebration. Lot's of apple pie, CC, turkey, ham, broccoli casserole, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc... Notice the sequence of the dishes listed? You can tell where my priorities are!:+

Okay ladies, off to pack some more. Talk more later.

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

Hi all you Xers,
I worked 1/2 a day today and then went to the golf course. See, I'm crazed. I'm always this way about a new interest. Anyway, I know the weather is turning cold soon and those opportunities will be scarce this winter. I actually got a free lesson from a guy that works at the pro shop there. It was the last day that they will be open for the season. He helped me for about 45 minutes, in the rain no less. How could hitting an object that is not even moving be so tough? Anyway, it was good and then I went out and played 9 holes, didn't keep score, but had some nice drives. The lesson paid off in satisfaction.

Anointed, so sorry about your computer. Was it very old? I have had this one since 2001 and it's still limping along. I'm still investigating getting a laptop. Do you have all your food shopping done for Thanksgiving? Will Ted be helping with the cooking too? Glad you enjoyed Lowmax today. Did you get all of those reports finished? I'm bad, I haven't backed up my data either.

Debra, love the Eoin quote. My parents are always so productive in their home. I look like a sloth compared to them. Oh well. I get the main stuff covered somehow. Bet your house is looking pretty. Does CB like to decorate too? Oooh, the new trees will be nice. True story here and I may have told it before. A few years ago, I got this notion that a juniper tree might be a nice tree in the house. I was thinking about putting red bows on it. DH and I looked and looked and finally found one that wasn't too fat. We had to pack it a long distance back to the pickup. I had him set it in the house because I wondered if it might smell funny. The next morning I got up and the whole living room smelled like cat urine. I had him remove the tree immediately. A day later, he went out to the woods and got me a nice fir tree. He kids me about the juniper tree all the time. Yes, they do smell like cat pi**.

Laurie, glad you got to go fabric shopping. I used to hate going as a child. Mom did a lot of sewing for us 5 kids and would drag all of us into the fabric shops. Seemed like we were in there for hours. We'd be rolling around under the fabric bolts, we were so bored. Sounds like your attendant got a great deal on the fabric. Will she be sewing the dress herself? Glad the dog houseguest is back home and probably missing Cami already. 2 dogs is all we can handle. Whenever we have more than that, one gets left out and doesn't get as much attention. I've had 3 days of good walks with playing 9 holes of golf. It's a nice little workout in itself as I have to push my cart up and down some hills. Most of the people I've seen there ride around in their electric carts. Are you cooking a full turkey dinner with stuffing and the works? If I could only have one thing, it would be the pie. Yep, I'm like Wendy in that regard. Are the dresses tight in the bodice/waist area? I would need plenty of room for expansion if I had to wear a dress during the Thanksgiving meal LOL! Sorry you didn't get to watch the NASCAR race and football game. DH was explaining that next season's cars will be different. Not sure I understand about this. He always roots for a Dodge or a Ford, not a driver.

Wendy, your broccoli casserole recipe looks good. I'll have to copy it down. My sister is making some recipe called Peas Almondine or something like that. Why do we even bother with a green vegetable at all? The whole meal seems to be so laden with gravy, starches, stuffing, pies, sweet salads. What's the point of a green vegetable? Color on the plate? How fun that you got to go out with Carol. I sure wish we all lived closer together and could see each other. Wouldn't it be awesome? I'm glad your mother agreed to visiting your friend. Is she afraid to let you out of her sight for safety's sake? LOL about the motocross trophy gf. I'm so glad that DS doesn't race anymore. I couldn't bear to see him crash. I'm really bad about those kinds of things. I try not to think about him up on those high voltage poles. Do you think that a jump drive would be big enough to back up pictures and some spreadsheets? That's about all that I have that's worth saving on my computer. That would be a lot easier than backing up to a CD or disk, wouldn't it? You are a woman after my own stomach with your listing of the Thanksgiving food. Yep, the desserts are at the top of my list. I'm known for eating a small plateful of the turkey, stuffing, etc. but load up big time on the desserts. THAT's why I'm not starting P90X this week. It's like, what's the point?

Sandra, good workout today. Looks like it clocks in around 1 1/2 hours? I'm not looking forward to all those pushups, but then again, I wasn't last year either and then got to where they weren't too bad. However, for Muscle Max chest work today, I did all the pushups on my knees. What a weenie I am. Maybe Tony will get me on my toes. I haven't had oatmeal for a while. My new favorite is Oat Bran hot cereal. I too will just try to focus on cleaner eating and maybe less carbs in the evening. I seem to not need a lot of carbs to function, I just like those carbs. I don't remember the Oblique V-ups in ARX, but I'm certain they will come back to me. Nope, not joining you until next week. I've stared at the calendar and the 26th is A-OK with me for starting, no sooner. Your sweet potato recipe looks good. However, I have such a sweet tooth that my dish has no resemblance to anything healthy at all. You might as well just call it sweet potato pudding. Lots of sugar, orange juice, nuts, etc.

Nicole, that's awesome news about your DS's baby being okay. I was praying for her. I hate it when people get wrong info from doctors. I have a friend that got a Pedscan or whatever the cancer scan is that they can give you. He read that and then gave her 6 months to a year to live. Can you imagine how she felt? She'd had Hodgins Disease about 14 years prior so always looks over her shoulder anyway. Anyhow, after paying out big bucks for tests, there was nothing wrong at all. The bike tire was repaired by 2 guys on the ride. I didn't have to do anything. One of them had a CO2 inflater so I didn't even have to pump up the tire. I'm very capable of changing my own tires, but they seemed to want to do it so I let them. We are blessed by being surrounded by USFS and BLM land, so Christmas trees are plentiful and only about a 15 minute drive away. Lots of times we bring a heat source and heat water for Peppermint Patties (hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps and whipped cream on top), bring snacks or chili beans. We like to make a big family gathering of it. I remember my boys having wrist rockets too. Hope nothing gets broken. I love the Carpenters too. I'm such a softie. No one sings like Karen Carpenter. Rainy days and Mondays always get me-ee down... Hey, it was a rainy day today.

Got to go now, hi to Swifty, Amy, Cheryl and anyone else I missed.

Jeanette
