Xers Happy August

JeanetteX! How are the new highlights? Did you enjoy BM2 Cardio premix? I enjoy that one, with the exception of the 3rd blast. Makes me dread the whole dang workout. And when Cathe tells us that we're having a blast, so act like it, I imagine she must be feeling it too.

The cork screw and rocket shoots are in CM#1, aren't they? I find that one the hardest, and can't do a levitation hold to save my life.

Are you still managing to get some yoga in these days?

Ach, don't give up on fitness just 'cause you're approaching 50!!! That's all the more reason to stay with it! Doesn't Tony say that age is just a number? He doesn't believe in aging, don't cha know!

PP upper body 3 times....ouch! Good work! Enjoy your golf game on Thursday night (if that's possible). Are the spouses coming just to make sure no one gets up to no good? ;)

Cheers,
SandraX

Magically Hips + Shiva Sun Salutations, warriors completed… about 80 minutes today.. Feeling much better in hip area. I think the lateral running in tennis really is hard on my hips so maybe that’s good as it will force me to do a bit more yoga.

Back later..... Sandra's gonna have us at 200 post count today!

Ok- Let me try and weed thru all the posts from the chatty gals today!

TeddyGirl
Take your meds – take it easy & get those awful molars removed! You poor poor thing… *Mr. Squirrel* {{{{{{hugs}}}}}} I am exactly the same way with all my little critters around here. I SWEAR I am St Francis re-incarnated… Dr Doolittle has nothin’ on me! LOL. I bet if you just keep sending love thoughts out to your pal he will find his way to you. Animals are capable of amazing things. *Theft of Keys* HORRID! Make sure you are extra careful going into your place at night- don’t try and be heroic- if you think that somethings not right stay away and call police! Follow your gut!

NicoleX
ROFL!!!!!!!! By now you are probably done cussing at Cathe and spending a few moments telling yourself how totally awesome you are for doing that leg work from hell! !!!

SandraX
You are one CRAZY CHICK! Had me ROF w/ the Oprah thing!! Is the Shakti just the DVD with music only option chosen???? Now I’ll have to do THAT too! SEE post to TracyX about what you made me buy now! *covers eyes & ears* STOP STOP STOP
Well how are those little legs feeling after blasting them today?

TracyX
Filing must be done by now! WOOHOO!!!!! Are you done completely- as in You can play all day?! I ordered Shiva Fluid this morning since you and Sandra Dee cant stop talking about it! You guys are gonna have to start fronting me some $$ to pay for all my purchases! *FIL* I am so sorry. You are going thru so much these days Trac- Just know that you can always vent here.. The Xers are not just for good times.

Cheryl
8 weeks MINIMUM on new outfits! ATROCIOUS! LOL By the time they arrive I’ll totally have forgotten I ordered them! Hope your cardio party was a blast! So happy you are once again feeling like you are pushing your muscles to new levels! GREAT JOB!

Debra- Jeanette- Laurie – Amy BE BACK IN A FEW!!!!!! {{{{{ to all}}}}}

DebraX
I agree with Tracy- take a rest day…. Your body obviously wants it so respect that. Sounds like you have a great day planned to keep you busy… Enjoy all of it! LOL on the tennis/DH competitiveness…. OH THAT’S MY GUY EXACTLY! Before I agreed to play I had a come to Jesus talk with him about it… I told him- he’s getting one chance- I hate his win/lose attitude about everything… it was almost a deal breaker our first year of marriage- we are polar opposites in every aspect of personality. Thanks for thinking of MIL. She’s doing better – she’s just getting old and lonely- seems all her friends/family are slowly dying off the past few years… Makes me VERY glad DH and I have some younger friends! I cannot imagine watching everyone around you die as you age- especially since we don’t have kids- what a depressing thought! UGH!!!

JeanetteX
Holly Cow woman! Was PPx3 planned or were you feeling like a bull today? Heat is a HUGE factor with tennis.. actually it’s the humidity that’s killer… Its actually MORE humid in early AM so we go about 7pm …. Its just part of living in the south. Hope ttom treats you kinder than it has me- it’s a killer this month… tomorrow should be better.

LaurieXX
Do you feel like a porn star when I type your name? - Do you feel like you want to stick with this rotation? You are pretty busy right now… Sorry about V-Ball! Glad you got talk time in with brother tho- that’s the important stuff. LOL on hair- I bet its hard to keep up with everything & everybody- Thanks for setting Tracy straight on the Spreen workouts… Heck- I confuse myself all the time! I haven’t even taken the cellophane off one of them! GEEZ!

Amy
Happy BDAY to big brother!!! What are you doing to celebrate? Today sounds like fun! Hope your hair turns out perfectly! How long are your HIIT sessions? TT are just 20-30 minutes. I sure hope Dave gets some sleep- it really can make you feel insane after awhile. LOL on QOD! You can probably take comfort in knowing that probably 80% of people meeting Cathe will cry/gush! I think that’s a real tribute to her. I’d be crying for sure!!!

All caught up and nothing left to do but shave my legs!

TraciX! Your turn! Good thing I have a half hour left in my lunch break :) Who you callin' chatty?

Well, your legs must be good and toasty! You really put them through the wringer yesterday, and today you did all of MH PLUS all the sun salutations from YS. <whistle> I'm glad I'm not your legs!! Nobody throws BG floorwork in on a whim! You're just insane (in a good way).

The music from Yoga Shakti was put on it's own separately-purchased cd called "Shakti Rhythms". I bought it from Amazon. Yes, you must buy it!!! I'm thrilled you're getting Fluid Power! It's addictive. Once you get familiar with the sequences, it all flows so enjoyably. And I love the water image that is the basis of the yoga in these sequences. She has a few "free" segments where you just move in any way that's comfortable for you. They're kind of fun.

How are the cramps today? Gone, I hope. AF is still MIA for me, and this is Day 28. Even the pms symptoms have subsided. I hope this doesn't mean day 1 will be tomorrow, when I'm supposed to do a 45 min interval run. That's going to feel ugly.

With the old workouts, I agree with you that the sound quality isn't as great. They're still good for a change, I find. I don't think I'll ever find Step Works too dated, though. It's classic stuff.

I'll get to work on that fish, once I finish the next two levels of my cake decorating course. I'm making at least one cake a week right now, which is making it tough to stick with clean eating. Last night's cake went into the freezer, but I don't think I have enough room for all the cakes I'll be making. I decorated my own birthday cake last night, for the final session of Level 1. It's quite pretty, if I say so myself. I look forward to eating it, on the right day.

I'm not a better mother than employee; as an employee I actually get to sit down at the computer for long periods of time! DH is dealing with the kids and their "needs." He's on holidays this week. Between watching the kids, he's also building our deck on the back. Nice guy, huh?

My legs are feeling okay for now. My back is actually feeling well-used. I think the handstands are as effective as pull ups for back work. However, when I sit on my stability ball (it's my desk chair), my inner thigh muscles quiver a bit. That can't be a good sign for tomorrow....

I have 10 minutes to throw together a shopping list for tonight. See? I've got my priorities straight: chat with TraciX - 20 mins; shopping list to determine everything my family puts in its mouth for an entire week - 10 mins.

Cheers,
SandraX

LaurieXX! How's the legs today? Still sore? How did I know you were going to feel the KM LCDs? Who *doesn't*?? Oh, there was one person on the forums a while ago who said she did them twice through, but she's obviously lying LOL. Unless you do them on a regular basis, you will feel them! And those straight leg circles are probably the worst, IMO. I always feel it in my hamstrings, too, from the fast kicks.

Did you get that upper body done yet? Glad the girls look beeeeautiful now. Almost as purdy as their mother :) Your dd had her eyebrows waxed?? Wow, brave girl! When do they get to the age that they're willing to tolerate that kind of pain for vanity alone?

Enjoy your run! Are you doing a Cardio Coach? I was going to use CC#5 for my last 45min interval run, but while it appears to be a challenging run, it seems to be less interval-ish, and just dog gone hard on the stamina. A 6 min level 3 segment, etc. That's endurance training, isn't it?

Cheers,
SandraX

Hi all,

Well, the filing didn't get done yet because I called to see if I could get any update with SIL about FIL's situation and by the time I got off the phone, it was workout time. Oh well!

I did CTX circuit whatever and then GS tri /biceps. I went as heavy as I could for biceps and used a 46lb BB and even got out my 22 lb DBs for one exercise. The rest I stayed with 18s. I didn't have the mental energy to push as hard with triceps, plus mine respond so easily that they get too big.

Nicole - That overall legs premix is a killer; especially the floorwork. I did it once and that is all. I'm sure you will finish with flying colors.

Annointed - Take the pain killers. Tooth pain is excruciating.

Sandra - I'm going to try the handstands again. I felt so awkward doing them. Maybe we should be on a commercial to plug Fluid Power.

Traci - You will not regret buying Fluid Power. The sequences are amazing and I always feel sooo good afterwards. It is unlike any of the other yoga dvds that you have. It is a creative masterpiece. She really talks about the 4 directions of the lunge and emphasizes pulling up through the belly. It has really helped me.

Tracy

Hi there my friends!

I am not feeling nearly as draggy as I did this morning...but just got done with the playdate...and then heading to dinner in a few. I have been working in my office/workout room today...no workout, though.

Sandra...DD is really enjoying art camp. She was so nervous the first day to meet all new kids, but she has handled it well. They are doing some really cool stuff, too. Decorating t-shirts, paper mache, nature walks, painting, etc. DD made a bowl today....very cute! She is excited every day to show me what she's done. It's good since I am probably the least creative mother on the planet! Hope your tushy is feeling okay after your blast this morning. I think leg workouts are always the hardest for me to recover from. How are you liking the Ipod so far? Now that I have an MP3 player, I don't know what I would do without it! Nice bday present. Rocks are still stumbling along...We are to the fine grinding stage now...then we still have 2 more stages left! I said cocktails...but we really just had beer. Cocktails just sounds better...LOL! I can't do a levitation hold either...but I have convinced myself that my arms are just too short.

Nicole...Poor dear! Hope you survive!

Traci...My DH is so competitive there is no way I even a talk would help! I am not competitive with sports (since I am no good at them) but I am incredibly competitive when it comes to games...cards, board games, whatever. None of our couple friends like to play Taboo with us because we go nuts on each other if the other one doesn't get our clues...LOL! My BFF is actually a lot older than me with no kids either. Glad to hear MIL is doing well....It su**s to get old!

Tracy...So sorry to hear about FIL. I know this must be tough on all of you! Bills and paperwork does not sound like any fun...but filing is the worst for me...I end up with stacks and stacks of stuff that needs to be filed!

TG...My goodness...Your week just hasn't been very good! Poor darling!

Cheryl...Glad you are enjoying your DOMS. Are you working hard on cardio so that you can be the best at the RT? I would want to make sure I could hang with everyone. I'm kind of used to taking breaks when I want at home!

Jeanette...Sorry I missed your post this morning! I'm sure your highlights are just gorgeous! Have fun with your girlfriend tonight. DD is active with dance and gymnastics and wants to start cheerleading too...so we'll have to make some choices as to what we can realistically fit in. I never had any activities beside swimming...and I think I took baton lessons for a while...until I was old enough to play an instrument. We ran around the neighborhood too....and my mom would just come out on the back porch and yell for me when it was time to go home!

Okay ladies...caught up again, I think...Will see you gators later!

Xtrain Xpress – Back – I love this wo. I have some definite gains in the back area post p90X. During bent over rows I had the ability to pull the bar up using back muscles –difficult time feeling “it” before- Used more of my glutes.

Well- hello! I have needed to check in with you ladies. I’ve been soooo busy getting ready for the RT. I went out and shopped for all the little things on the list and mission complete. I am awaiting my new NB sneaks any day in the mail. I am driving across the state & I will get my mapquest thingie done soon. I’m pushing around the idea of staying Sunday PM, just in the event I meet some great gals I can’t part with.

QOD – No, I have no question planned for Cathe. I will most likely just smile and cry- blahh! Although I hope this isn’t the case. I’m just so darn excited! I will start the packing ASAP.

Wow! so many Xer’s have anniversaries coming up. Our 11th is on Aug 23. DD was born on 24th (her 6th).

Netta – Hi! I’ve been doing more solo rides as the temps are high in the 90’s. Too high for DD in afternoon. I wait until pm and go alone. I have found my new PI neon blue gloves and Serface glasses have me feeling like a bicycling fiend! Everyone is looking at me tearing up the trail. Hi-lites huh? Lucky girl, I bet you are goooorgeous! Best of luck with the grouting.

Traci-X – LOL on the the porn star thing to LaurieXX. Tennis used to be one of the sports I enjoyed when younger. Have you tried one of those sticky heater patches you can buy for ttom? I’ve used them and think they are great for when the pain just won’t go. Your suggestions on the yoga are spinning my head. I must start writing them down as I will be purchasing something yoga soon. Tue. I tried a David Swansen (sp?) yoga I have and it darn near killed me. I’ll use Tony until then. Printed the TT link out you posted last week. Also checked TH’s blog on sliding. Veeeerrrry interesting. I wondered what that feeling was called I get sometimes! You must not feel it – you are a powerhouse!

LaurieXX – ^^^^ 5’s on the v-ball. I played in high school - recall not being so good, but having fun. (I was an underhand server, ha!) How does your nose feel? I bicydle past 4 sand courts on private land, makes me want to play again. Your strength and flexibility are quite amazing to play as hard and often as you do. WTG!

SandraX – Cakes! I love cakes and have done some regular decorating for DD BD’s ever since she was born. Your cakes are phenomenal! How do you work and find time for cakes? Do you have a deep freeze? TTOM has been screwy for me starting 4 mo. Ago. It must be my age. I hated going from a 28-31 day cycle on the nose then skipping 2 mo. I’m wondering if there is anything a doc could do for me besides the pill? I hear some xer’s experiencing the same thing. Should I go with the flow? No pun intended. How long can you hold a handstand? Wow! Yoga Shakti is available through where?

Tracy - Congrats on the bills and paperwork catch up! Exactly what I should be doing right now, but you came first. So sad I don’t get to posting more often. I enjoy reading your posts on the adventures of Tracy and her DS’s. DH would like to DD to get into some type of road racing one day. The downhill thing can get pretty dicey huh? You’re a great mom! Wish I had a Costco nearby – only Sam’s. Yuk!

Debra – Your DD has such a full schedule? Is the art camp a variety of different paints, pencils, clay sort of thing? Does she loves it? Your wo’s are awesome. I haven’t yet gotten back full tilt into squats again. Grrrrr!

Nicole – Happy 9th anniversary. I dread legs also. Hang in there!

Cheryl – What’s a cardio party? What ever it is, hope it’s fun. Wish I was there?

Teddygirl – How’s the tooth? Had all mine pulled around 16 yr old. I remember telling mom “tell dad I love him” right before they put me under. Off to the dentist next week but just a checkup. DD has been saying she’s going to be a “teeth cleaner” since age 4. Have to wait and see on that one. To the guy and the keys - People are can be so darn cruel and ignorant. It’s makes me mad! Hang in!

Okay, I have exhausted my brain. It’s out to the line to hang more laundry now and dream up supper.

Hello to others I have missed. Sorry. Enjoy your pm’s and later xer’s.
:)

Amy Swifty - a cardio party is kind of like an informal "WOWY" (Work Out With Me) commitment - if 2 or more gals agree to do the same workout the same day, we're having a "party" and afterwards we compare notes. HeatherB, Amy's and my RT hotel neighbor (who called me up and made sure I was online to register for the RT within the first 3 minutes) loves the same styles of Cathe cardio as I do, so she clued me in she'd be doing Rhythmic Step on Monday and Step Works on Wed. So I followed suit and we had a "party"

Cool, eh?
:0
Cheryl

Traci - I think the first thing I'll say when I see Cathe is nothing - I'll be speechless and probably wet my pants :+

And you don't see a PR gal speechless too often :7 :7 :7

Daily Dose of Bliss

Ahhh, that feels better!:)

I knew if I didn't do yoga I would be out for the count tomorrow. My legs already feel better:D I think I'm addicted to Eoinn:p

DH is on a bike ride and hopefully not getting lost! We are going to my aunts house in a few to help with last minute decorations for my cousins wedding. I busted my butt so hard today and I said to myself, why would I bust my butt this hard and mess it up with crappy food?

I have missed the normal lengthly chats with you ladies this week, but alas, DH must know what a productive wife he has:)LOL:D

Traci-X, So glad you are taking up tennis as to have extra time with DH. Sounds like a great way to stay active together. DH has asked me several times to ride a bike with him but I think I would frustrate him more than pacify him:) He rides between 30 and 50 miles a day and I'd be passed out after 2!LOL! Sandra and I will have you fully converted to yoga in no time:D:D

Amy, Isn't it a bummer having your birthday and anniversary on the same day? A week in between is bad enough for me. I hope you make it a day just for yourself and celebrate the anniversary the night before. Enjoy the haircut? Maybe you should have made it a spa day:) Early birthday present!!

Anointed, What a night! Bad toothache and a homeless squirrel? I'm sure the meds didn't help with that! Glad you're on the mend but so sad for the squirrel, what a story:(:( What a story about the manager! People are so brazen these days!!

LaurieXX, Sounds like a fun game. Even if you don't win it's always nice to have a challenge:) Sounds like all the girls are looking beautiful!! She'll be all set for the big HS!

JeanetteX, Have fun grouting! So you avoided the Legs & Glutes Xtreme today, huh? It was tough! Have fun with it tomorrow. I almost switched it until tomorrow but decided I needed to follow the rotation to a tee for my own motivation:) Enjoy your bike ride tonight!

DebraX, Sorry your feeling so sore today. I think you should just let your muscles rest today. If you don't they can never repair themselves which is what makes them strong like bull:):D Enjoy dinner with your mom. Anymore "scheduled talks" on the books? Hope all is going better in that department.

Cheryl. I'm right there with you on avoiding B&G. I'm glad I have started doing rotations since my X graduation because it takes the thinking and trepedition out of working out. I avoid several and I know it's because I don't want to do them but following a rotation has really helped with that.

SandraX, We must be rubbing off on each other:) Glad to have fellow yoga addicts between you and TracyX. We'll convert Traci-X all the way soon:):) Sounds like you had a wonderful anniversary. How funny that you, me and Amy have birthdays and anniversary so close to each other:) Decorating your own cake? Hey, any excuse to play, right?:)

TracyX, Sounds like things with DFIL are getting worse and worse:( Things like this are so hard. You never want to have regrets after someone is gone, but it's so hard to handle when your in the throws of it all! Filing will get done one day! Iv'e got a pile calling my name and I just ignore it:D

Swifty Amy, Glad to see your post! Love the new avatar!! Your arms look GREAT!!! August is such a busy birthday and anniversary month amongst such a small group! Hope it cools down so you can enjoy it:)

WendyX, Miss you, come back soon!!

O.k., I'm supposed to be leaving and I'm not even in the shower yet!!!!

Nicole

Oh, my aching wrist! I've been typing all day, and my wrist is rebelling. I should just do one big post and catch up with the rest of ya'll at once. I tend to natter on longer in individual posts. And as TraciX said, I'll have us up to 200 posts by the end of the day!!

Cheryl - ha, you won't wet your pants. You'll do fine! It's Cathe who will probably be overwhelmed by all of you! Can you imagine this 150+ pack of fit women descending on you with exclamations of "I love you!" "What do you typically eat in a day?" "How do I get rid of my belly??" all at once! Keep in mind, she's probably shorter than most of you, too!!!

Amy - Hello. Poor DH. He fell asleep standing up? That's crazy-tired. Are you still seeing your stats heading in the right direction? About meeting Cathe: You're such a great writer that you should write down what you want to say to her, then just hand her the paper when she says hello.

TracyX - Hello! I haven't mentioned the dissertation in a while because there just hasn't been anything to mention! As I said to DebraX, DS (is that right, for Dear Supervisor? ;) ) is dragging his feet about reading my last draft. Grrrrr. I have to light a fire under his butt. Why will you "have to work" next year? Are you getting a new position? That sucks, if it means you can't play with us as much! You want RA work? You have a doctorate! Around here, RA work is only for the not-yet-graduated, and the doctorates get to be the Principle Investigators. They don't have to do all the tedious stuff like lit reviews :) My goodness, I just love that Mandala Namaskar I. No, there is definitely not enough time! I found the handstand series in Shakti easier than in Fluid Power, and I don't know why. Maybe 'cause I was doing the X at the time, and was used to spending half my workout on my hands? I have a hunch they will do wonders for the back muscles (and shoulders, and arms, and all the rest of it. Kind of like pull ups :) ). Absolutely we should put out a commercial for Shiva! LOL! (See my post to Swift AmyX below). I wish I had some words of wisdom or comfort about FIL and DH situation. It sounds dreadful, and I'm sorry your family has to live with this stress.

NicoleX - Happy Anniversary!! The BM2 cardio is tough, isn't it? LOL about answering the door all sweaty. Did you survive LG extreme? I've never done that one, and keep meaning to look at what it entails. I find LG as-produced to be kind of easy now, so maybe this is the premix for me! What are you doing, posting the middle of a workout?! Get back to work!!! (Remember - they call me Sargeant Sandra!).

Swift AmyX - Well hello! What a lovely post from you today! Thank you for the compliments on my cakes. I'm still just trying to figure it all out. I certainly wouldn't charge money for one, yet. Maybe one day.....I have a small freezer, yes. It helps a bit. I make them in stages: the cake one day, the icing the next, colour the icing the day after, assemble on the next day, etc. I have more patience for it all if I do it like that. I don't know what a doctor can do about your cycles. Mine became inconsistent after DD#1 was born, and something that helped me manage it all was the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It's a superb book about the female reproductive system. If your cycle isn't regular, you can at least learn to identify the subtle signs throughout the month that tell you where in the cycle you are. It's a must-read for any girl/woman. My own daughters will get their copies one day. Yoga Shakti is one dvd put out by Shiva Rea. Fluid Power is another. Shakti Rhythms is a cd, with the music from Yoga Shakti. If you like yoga, you will like Shiva's dvds. I highly recommend them. I was able to buy them from the big-chain bookstore (I'm in Canada). Amazon.com will certainly sell them.

Okay, I'm not replying to the replies to my replies today. I'm outta time. That will have to wait for tomorrow. Time to go make dinner, and go grocery shopping.

Cheers!
SandraX

Good evening! Wow, you've all been so busy today!!!

Well, the haircut turned out very cute and there was a surprise on the door step when we got home......2 dozen gorgeous red roses from my older brother!!! Talk about a surprise! He always sends them a couple of weeks early so I can enjoy them before the actual day. Oh, that reminds me, I still need to call younger bother to tell him HB!!! Yes, that was my nickname for him growing up....little bother! He's pretty cool, now.
