Xers.........Friday at last............

Okay, thanks for all the advice on my calf muscles. I did finish Yoga X and had a banana with a recovery drink after. I think the stretching helped a lot, it's more of a dull ache in the calf now.
I did like Yoga X more than most of the yoga dvds I've tried, it's just so long! So done day 4 now!

Tracy- I hope it warms up enough for a run for you. I have a few of the CC on my MP3 player but only use them when I run on the treadmill not outside. I do really enjoy them and find I push myself a little harder than when I don't use them.

Laurie- Glad that you're meeting at the school went well. Any worries about our children are always stressful. So with the change in your work hours, you could workout in the morning? I much prefer to workout in the am, it's so much easier then with kiddos awake in the evening with all their homework/activites. LOL about the electronics. DS is always quite fascinated about the things we didn't have when we were kids.

Traci- Glad you got a good night's sleep it sounds like you needed it. Just wondering are you a personal trainer?

Wendy-Thank goodness no one was hurt when he hit the deer sometimes those wildlife accidents can be really dangerous. My main question about the recovery drinks is just wondering after which workouts do I need to take them. Just after the weight workouts??
You son is going to a diver! I love scuba but haven't done it since I've had kids
;( ;( I tease my kids that they have to be my scuba partner in a few years as DH doesn't swim. Good luck to him on his swim test. It is so hard to learn to swim as a adult. I taught beginner adult lessons for a few years and compared to the kids they have so much trouble.

Teddy Girl- Hope your feeling better soon!

Jeannette- Sounds like quite the storm heading your way. What state are you in?

Sandra- I agree with the swimming, takes to much time so much easier to workout at home. But in the fall dd had swim lessons Sat am and half the pool was open for lap swimming so I did swim for 1/2 hour while she was in lessons.

Carol- I'm glad that your hip is feeling better. I reallly like the Boot Camp from 4DS and the kids really like doing it with me. The equipment changes do keep you busy. WTG on the weight loss I haven't seen any yet. Good luck with the 4 kids today. I have 4 today too, my neice and nephew slept over last night and are here all day. They're really close with my two and similar ages the girls are 7 and 8 and the boys are both 10. There just having fun today at the end of their winter vacation. I'm not going to try and take them anywhere though.

Debra- Hope things go well for you today.

Stopping by quickly before my sister arrives. She just called to let me know she's right outside of Harrisburg. I should use the hour and half to clean. Oh well.}(

Jeanette: You had me cracking up with your post!!! Gold and avocado dishes.:7 :7 The allure of raking the rug! OMW I don't think I've laughed so hard in days!!! Thanks for aggravating my ab DOMS! Guess what I'm drinking? Chai Tea! Of course it's only a tea bag, not anything I needed to actually brew with a strainer or tea pot. I would love for you to email me the recipe you found. I broke down and bought some Folgers today. I might just buy some Starbucks coffee beans too. I might bribe my sister into bringing me some coffee back from Thailand. I'm sick. I know. :p ;-) Oh, Jeanette. Listen, until you can go for a month without one workout, bike ride, golf expedition, then I hold the Laziest Xer title. Sorry. Now, if you'd have come to Thailand with me, then we could battle it out.:+ As of now, there's no chance in you winning even if you posted personals instead of working out!:p :7

Sandra: Did you get your coffee, nap and workout accomplished yet? It was planned that I was going to stay until Jan. 21st. That would have meant my sister would arrive while I was still in Thailand. Since I couldn't hack being in a third world country for more than 5 weeks, she's going to be there for an entire month ALONE with the ONLY English speaking person in the family: The Crazy Asian. Gosh, I loved typing that! }( }( }( Only God knows how she'll fare. Maybe my mom will try to rub it in my face and take her eldest dd to lots of fun places. I doubt it. My eldest dd fared remarkably well!!! But, she doesn't have any freedom to lose. She's used to living in submission. LOL

Laurie: You are such a GOOD wife!!! Hope the new start time motivates you to get an earlier workout done. My new internal alarm clock didn't motivate me this AM. I still have to get my yoga done. I think I'll get my sister to do some Eoin with me tonight. She can get an hour massage when she lands for a 100 baht (~ $3.00).

Lea: That's okay. Bring it on! I'll join you soon enough.

Kim: I had that same exact feeling the night after my plane landed. I chalked it up to swollen feet and a dehydrated body. I've been munching on bananas every day since. I've never had it happen after an X workout though. Then again, I don't push myself very hard!}( ;-) If the bananas don't help, you can always try a bottle of Aromafloria Muscle Soak Massage Oil and hand it to your husband!}( :7 Speaking of dhs, Phil used the recovery drink after every workout. I don't know how healthy the P90X recovery drinks are. The first ingredient is glucose, followed by fructose and then whey protein. I always just ate a banana and drank a lot of water after my workouts. Thanks for the well wishes for ds. I try to remind myself that God knows what's best for him. If he doesn't make it this time, it's not important in the scheme of life.

Traci: WTG finishing your workoutS! I better get myself into tip top shape or I'll look like a before picture come April while you all will look like gorgeous afters! Was that green smoothie laced with sleeping meds?;)

Carol: Glad to hear your hip is feeling better!!! Is it good enough for a Power Heated Yoga class? I was thinking we could meet up with Jen next weekend if it works out for everyone. Do you think you can swing a Saturday morning class? I'll email you the studio's schedule.

Debra: How are you doing? Do I need to send you some of my Aromafloria Stress Less massage oil? I'm addicted to it!

Nicole: Hope you are feeling better soon!!!!!

Who asked about my cycle? Thailand did indeed mess me all up! TTOM came the day before I left to come home (Dec. 28th USA time). Poor Phil. That man never wins! Well, I'll tell you what he said when I came home at the retreat. This is a public forum!:p :+

Okay, I best vacuum the carpets since I don't have a rug rake.

Talk more soon.
Wendy

Free at last, free at last...Thank God almighty, free at last!!! Or should I say...Ding dong the witch is dead, Which old witch? The wicked witch...Ding dong the wicked witch is dead! Well...maybe not dead..(I which I truly don't wish)...but at least on a plane back to Russia!!!!! Where I guess, now that I think about it, we should send all of our witches! DD actually handled this mornings good bye very well. She seems to miss him more at night when she is going to bed than at any other time. I have had a lovely nap and I am wiping the cobwebs and all of the other nasty gook out of my head...since tomorrow is another day! DD heads over to my mom's house this evening...which is just what she needs...a nice evening of being pampered by Nana...which also gives me the opportunity to be pampered by CB...We girls should be right as rain by the morning! then tomorrow we are spending the day with CB while he helps us around the house (cleaning the gutters, taking up the Xmas decorations, etc.) and then he is going to play board games and watch a movie with DD...which let me just add her father didn't do the entire time he was here...Okay....I will try to let that be my last snippy remark....I have to keep reminding myself that I am a better person than that..And I will not stoop to a level beneath me...LOL!

Onto some quick personals...

Tracy...
Maybe you can put off that run until the weekend...I know it is supposed to warm up significantly by then! isn't it funny how men like to bring up old sh** while in an argument...I am always like, "Didn't we resolve this 8 years ago??"

Traci...
Sorry the flu bug took a bite of you yesterday....Hope you are feeling better today. You must promise to try to get your rest, dear woman. One of the little germ infested urchins touched XDH yesterday...I thought he was going to have a heart attack! Thanks for all the hugs...I have definitely need them....but I will be completely back in the saddle by Monday. It will be nice for you guys to make regular trips to the bay. I know that is such a great retreat for you. How is your client list shaping up? Are you starting to get any new folks making NY's resolutions? I am sure that green smoothie is perking you up about right now. At least you got through the workout...even if your results weren't stellar...You pushed play...and gave your best...that is all anyone can ask for. Don't I sound like the good cheerleader that I am?? Maybe I can wear a special outfit for when you are all here...DD and I will make up a cheer to do together...LOL!

Wendy...
LOL about DD watching and asking questions while you are panting...My DD does that all the time! Or else she gets the 3 pound weights and tells me how easy all of the exercises are. Thanks, dear. I didn't realize your sis wasn't there the whole time you were...Wow! What a shock that is going to be for her...I bet you are laughing your little bottom off!! Sorry about your car trouble. We saw a deer last night...luckily she just stood on the side of the road and then headed off into the woods. About XDH...DD is definitely my girl...she just misses her dad, of course...and she feels some guilt because she really likes CB and feels disloyal to her dad because of it...XDH is also what my friends and I call "the Disney Dad"...she gets whatever she wants while she is with him. DD will be better next week once she is in school full time and is back into her normal routine. She also has a friend from her dance class who just started at her school and they sit beside each other...so she is really excited about that. I just started calling it a 'retreat' since reunion didn't sound quite right. I do have 2 whirlpool tubs in the house...so if we all take turns, it can kind of be like a spa! Maybe I will make CB come over and give us all massages, too. I first suggested some fitness contests...just for fun and games...but I was quickly shot down. I think we will be too busy eating, gabbing and laughing for any sort of fitness stuff...Although I do live in the country, so anyone who wants to go on a run certainly has some nice area to do it in...and I also have one bike for anyone short enough to ride it. You are right about it being a public forum...There is no telling lately what I will say...And I am sure that many of our fellow lurkers have gotten WAY too much information!!

Carol...
Hope you have good luck finding those soccer shoes. I may do 4DSKB today to punch out some frustration. I am feeling a bit sore today from my workout yesterday, too. Shoes are always hard to find for me...Have you tried Zappos online?? I usually have pretty good luck there.

Kim...
Hope your calves are feeling better after the 25 bananas you were told to eat. I know it is not on the X diet, but baked potatoes are also a great source of potassium. Sounds like your calf is a bit better. Keep up with the stretching...it can never hurt. I ma sure we can lead you to some other yoga videos you will like that aren't quite as long as the X one!

Jeanette...
Stay bundled up! You guys are in for some nasty weather, it looks like! I got a laugh the other day just thinking of poor Tillie's tummy in the snow. When we lived in Illinois, Polly would squat down to do her business and her bottom would hit the snow and she would almost bounce back up! It was really funny to watch. XDH is certainly on that jet plane right now...WooHoo! I know what you mean about his career. I have always followed him wherever he felt he needed to go to better his career...I even offer to move to Russia, I just couldn't leave while DD was in the middle of kindergarten....but it was more important to him to make a lot of money and achieve those sorts of things instead of having a family life. Even when we lived together in the States, his career always came first. He wasn't even at DD's birth because he was at a meeting. I know that in the end, this is going to be his loss. He definitely gave me up...and I am afraid eventually he will give up DD, too....but he has made up his mind...He even told my mom that he wasn't planning on leaving Russia anytime soon. He said, "I love my job and I can never make the kind of money I make here in the States. So I have no plans to leave." He didn't realize that DD was in the other room listening to their conversation. His brother told me once that he was afraid that XDH would end up to be a very old, very rich, very lonely man.

Sandra...
So sorry you didn't sleep well last night. As usual my suggestion would be to take a nap...LOL! When does DD head back to school...Monday? LOL about getting in and out of the pool to be a huge deterrent to swimming more.....How right you are!! To me, just going to a gym is a huge deterrent...Hence the reason I workout at home! CB tried to tell me the other day that I wasn't really serious about working out if I didn't go to the gym...I challenged him to do a Cathe workout with me...He never did get back to me on that one...LOL! Men!

Teddygirl...
Sending healing vibes your way!!

Laurie...
That's great that your boss is willing to let you be a bit flexible with your schedule. Have fun with ARX this evening...I actually did that one last week. I was so proud of myself! Glad your computer is running well and happy! That makes the work go faster....kind of like a spoonful of sugar and medicine!

Nicole.....
More healing vibes going to you too! Get better soon!! Thanks for all the encouraging words about XDH...I know that you are right that he has abandoned us...but he always makes it seem like the demise of our marriage is my fault. He actually said that to me the other day...and I quote, "I don't blame you for leaving me." I'm thinking, hunh? You left US! Anyhoo....feel better soon.

Lea...
So nice to see your shining face!! Are you guys getting bad weather too? Hope it doesn't get to crazy there for you. Way to go on your start on the X!!! You rock woman! I actually thought of you while I was eating a salad last night for dinner...since that is the closest I will ever get to being a rawist...LOL!

Well...I think I am caught up for now!! It has been so nice to sit here and chat with you guys...a bit of normalcy for me! I am stepping out of my pity party box and back out into the real world. I even start school next week. Eeeek!!

Good gravy what a morning!! 9am, as I'm trying to add some productivity to my day (and find out why Brittany Spears is in the hospital), the phone rings. It's a friend; long story short: I now have her twin 6 year olds for the day. On top of my own 7 year old, her 9 year old sleepover guest, and my own 2 year old. That's 5 children, Kim and Carol...do I win? So, I get the call, I guzzle my 2nd cup of coffee, throw on some w/o clothes, and race down to the basement to squeeze the workout in before they arrive. All-Step went great. Quick check on the kids: all is well. Back down to the basement for Legs & Back. Half way through LB, the power goes out. Damn. Back upstairs to find the children. The older 2 are excited and running around like fools. The toddler has shut herself in her room, and the pitch dark has her scared. She's crying. She's poopy. So, calm her down, change her diaper, find a little flashlight for her to play with, grab my ipod nano with the good music, and back down to the basement we go. The battery-powered clock on the wall is ticking to Twins arrival time. I persevere with LB, just using my worksheet to remind me what to do next. This is the third time I've done LB without power; what's up with that? I've never lost power during any other workout. The toddler patiently waits for me to finish, then decides to go upstairs. But I've still got to do ARX! So, I make a run upstairs to find the portable dvd player, a disk, and back down we go. It doesn't even occur to me to play the ARX disk on the player LOL! I've got that thing nailed into my brain. So DD sits quietly (at least I think it was quietly; my ipod was blaring too loudly to know for sure) and watches Disney Princesses while I rip my abs. Next thing I know, the older two have migrated down and are crowded around the little dvd player. How did the glow reach all the way to the top floor of the house? I finish ARX, and actually get some applause. Funny kids. Then, a mad dash into the shower to rinse off the stink, and the doorbell rings. Did I mention that this last week of the X has been a huge PITA to complete??? And someone please tell me how Brittany ended up in the hospital?

Oh dear, I'm being beckoned to go set up the Polly Pocket Race to the Mall that arrived at Christmas. I'll be back in an hour....

Sandra

Sandra::::::::::::;; Thanks for the afternoon laugh-fest! Client will be here shortyly- shuffling DGH & boys out the door to bay.... Back this evening when I'm single & free

Hi all,

Sixty minutes on the eliptical done because I just couldn't bring myself to run today. I am trying to give my legs a few days of rest from the higher impact stuff. It's supposed to be 65 here Monday; it was 16 this morning.

I previewed Amy's Hi/Lo Challenge while I was on the eliptical. It looks good, but could be a space hog. It's definitely a calorie burner, but looks like lots of fun.

Sandra - You don't have to have a dome to do the Dome Challenge. She has a modifier using a step. I don't have a woody bag either. It would still be real effective with a step and it doesn't engage the hip flexors, so there is more actual abdominal engagement.

I read the posts, but I'll have to catch up tomorrow.

Tracy

Hi ladies,
Busy day at work today, as usual. I didn't get a chance to go look at the pups on parole. DH and I might go take a trip out to the prison tomorrow to check them out. DH is taking a shower right now. Little Tillie always hides under one of the chairs in the living room when the shower goes on. She hates taking a shower. As soon as the water gets turned off, out she comes. I'm listening to the Food Network, which is breaking up badly on satellite, snow must be plugging up the dish. Oooh, DH will have to go outside after his shower and clean it off. I can't, I'm in my PJ's of course. He loves TV, of course he'll clean it off. Oh yeah, TTOM hit this morning. Not much bloating this time for some reason. Reminds me that I need to go grab a big glass of water. I had 2 mugs of my homemade chai tea already. Yum. It was snowing like crazy when I left work, but I had chai tea on my brain. This time, the store wasn't all full of people like last night. Also noticed after I got home, that they charged me for 3 items I never bought. I'm going to take the tag in tomorrow and get my money back. I've shopped there for like 30 years or more so I'm hoping I don't have to make a scene like Wendy would. I just told DH about the snow on the dish and he told me where the broom is so I can do it. I'm surprised he didn't tell me to fly out their on my broom to sweep it off. LOL.

Kim, sorry about the leg cramps. My DS's girlfriend got a calf cramp really bad a few years ago while bicycling with me. It stayed sore for close to a week or more. I've had cramps, but they stop as soon as I stretch me leg muscle. I've gotten them after really intense bicycling sessions where I've pushed hard. Also gotten them on long bike rides when I'm either dehydrated some or legs are exhausted or a combo of both. My mom used to get really bad leg cramps in the middle of the night. She'd have to about crawl to he fridge and pour herself a glass of milk. She claimed that stopped them. They are no fun at all. I've also heard that you have to take magnesium with potassium. I have all of the Cardio Coach workouts on my mp3 player and use them on my bike outside. I only do them on roads where there is little traffic. They sure help me to do better on my bike. Love Sean! By the way, I'm in California, along with Lea and Nicole.

Sandra, I don't have the bosu either and won't be getting it, but I hear you can use a step instead. I'm excited about this workout too. I have such good, fun cardio workouts to do on Sunday. We have snow here so no bike ride for me I'm sure. I do have some snowshoes so maybe I can get out for a walk with those. Now those can be a good workout. Sorry your sleep was interrupted last night. One thing for sure, I've been sleeping great every night. So your DD likes to bowl? I haven't bowled in years and years. I used to like to go and was always happy to bowl over 100. My oh my, your workout was an adventure this morning. Good for you for persevering. No workout for me this morning, but I did get the dishes done. No adventure there, sigh. Gosh, did we ever hear anything about Brittany?

Latrese, hope you are resting up. Most everyone I know that has had this cold around here has gotten over it fairly quickly. I think my day is coming too. Today I ended up feeling okay, except for the lousy cramps from TTOM. I didn't eat breakfast this morning cuz I was a little queasy. However, I got really hungry later on and ate a huge cinnamon roll that our Facility Captain brought in. Grrrr...they aren't happy until they see me cave.

Laurie, that's great that you can change your work hours. I'm hoping to take out that 45 minute lunch that I never take anyway and then get off work earlier. When we get a new boss in here (instead of an acting person), I'll try to arrange that. It'd give me more time to golf/bike/go with DH/etc. when the weather gets nicer. It is amazing how we have gotten so used to electronic devices. I remember when Mom and Dad got a microwave and thought it was such a luxury. Now Dad would be lost if he couldn't nuke his coffee. We used to just camp in a tent. Now we have the trailer, generator for an electric coffee pot, shower, etc. Far from roughing it. I remember watching our black & white TV when we were young. If I squinted my eyes just right on Channel U, I could see color, or at least I thought I could.

Nicole, hope you feel better soon. Go back to bed if you can. I'm having this fantasy about me baking bread tomorrow and it snowing outside and a nice warm fire going. Hmmmm...

Lea, we got a ton of rain today, did you? Everyone was so happy here to get it. It's been so darned dry for so long. Now they are worried about the hills down in southern Calif., flooding and all that from the fires. Hope you aren't near that potential disaster. We only have a couple inches of snow right now, but more on the way I'm sure before it's over. I don't blame you for restarting the X. 2 weeks isn't that much to have to redo.

Traci, good job on finishing your workout today. Don't worry about breaking any new records. Hoping your shoulder isn't bothering you any more, or at least not much. I've got to get our tree down tomorrow. No real agenda except that, and maybe looking at dogs. Oh yeah, the baking of bread, but probably ought to stay away from that. I will try to dress Tillie up tomorrow for a snapshot. She actually kind of likes the sweater.

Debra, what a relief that XDH is gone now. You can cross that one off the list. You will be fine. What a nice weekend you have planned. Good that CB will be helping you. Yep, we want to see CB do a workout with you. How about Bootcamp (the original)?}( XDH may some day regret how he's chosen to spend his life. Hoping your DD never blames herself for her Dad leaving. Sometimes kids get funny ideas. You are a great mom so know that she knows she is very much loved. Are you excited about school starting for you? Does this mean that reading to the urchins will end?

Wendy, glad you got a laugh over the dishes and carpeting. True stuff, I swear. I will email you the chai tea recipe. It's pretty good. Now how do I get the frothiness? Is their a machine that I could buy to get the foam? I like the Verona Starbuck's coffee that I buy at Safeway. I make it a little stronger and it tastes better to me. I know I would definitely have the Laziest Xer title sewn up if you hear me writing about golfing with an electric cart, instead of walking. Can't wait for you to fill us in on what your DH said with you being on TTOM when he got home.

Tracy, is Amy's Step Challenge hi impact? Does she show a modifier? I've gotten to where I HATE tuck jumps. They just irritate me. Probably because some of my fat jiggles and that's what really irritates me.

Must go now and do some more browsing. Dell called and left a message for me to call them, say they want to resolve the keyboard problem. Like a dummy, I deleted the message instead of saving it, so I lost the phone # they wanted me to call them at. I emailed them so hopefully they will respond. I'm using an external keyboard while using the laptop. A pain.

Night, night,

Jeanette
