X'ers Check in...Jan 12

I know most of you are probably off enjoying your weekend...but I wanted to mention a couple of things and with the way my brain works lately (perimenopause and all) I'll forget if I wait until tomorrow!!!

Tracy...I noticed today during CM#3 that I was definitely stronger than in the past..I attribute that to ARX...Also I thought Core Max 3 was pretty close to ARX..only adding weight. I also made sure to contract my ab muscles and really "bring it" with Cathe today and I could tell a difference. I think I was getting too complacent doing Cathe all the time..and just going through the motions....I think After P90X I will be able to add more intensity to my Cathe workouts.

Sandra..I am with you about Kenpo...I thought the same thing when I did it the other day...for me to keep my heartrate up there I have to brace myself the way you are talking about...I also notice that all of their heart rates are down much quicker than mine..and I think it's because mine is higher to start with!

Jeanette..Thanks for your info on Cardio Coach..I have a treadmill and would really like to improve my running endurance...I am a definite beginner with running, although I can hold my own with all of Cathe's videos!! I will play on the CC site a bit more to see if I can hear some snipets.

Hi to Laurie, Monica and Gayle (where ever she is!!)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Hi Debra!

Interesting that you said you thing you will be able to add more intensity to your Cathe workouts. After doing the low intensity portion of Kick Max yesterday I was thinking the exact same thing! I think I got used to going through the motions. When I get back to Cathe workouts I will definitely Bring It!

So, I had no food in the house and had to stop at the grocery store on my way home. Bad idea! Duh - an ice storm is moving in. I have never seen a grocery store like this. It took me almost 20 minutes to get out of the parking lot, it was complete gridlock. Pretty crazy! Now I am home, safe and warm, just completed Legs & Back and ARX. Trying to decide if I will do Cardio X or not.

Take care,
Monica

Ok - I feel deserving of a Dairy Queen butterscotch sundae tonight. I just did Cardio X - skipped the warm-up, still warm from L&B and ARX.

YAY!

Monica

Monica...glad you are home...safe and warm!! It looks like you should be checking in on the Healthy Hedonists with me too!! Hope you enjoyed your sundae!

Good afternoon,
Had a nice morning and spent some good time with my mom. We definitely need to do it more. Got back around 3:00 and did Legs and Back. Brought it good with this one again, and increased my weights on the Bowflex again for the lat pulldown work. When it gets really hard, I start feeling slight icy sensations in my forearms. Don't like that feeling (don't want to hurt anything) so that's when I start letting up. Will work out DH tonite on back and some abwork so will do AbX then. Am feeling leaner again. TTOM really does a number on me with water retention. Hate it so.

Monica: here are the times for Bryan Kest Power Yoga (videos):

Power Yoga - #1 Energize - 54 minutes
- #2 Tone - 54 minutes
- #3 Sweat - 54 minutes Hmmm, that's what it says on the outside of the video box.

I also have Bryan Kest's Original Power Yoga - Intensive Body Sculpting (good one too) and it is approx. 60 minutes.

In addition, I have Bryan Kest's Original Power Yoga 20 minute Beginner Workout, which I think is good too. It's approx. 30 minutes. Cracked me up, you mentioned painting and I went, oh yeah, I need to do that sometime. Boy, it's on the top of my list, isn't it? A procrastinator I am for sure.

Sandra, hope Legs & Back goes well for you and you can get some energy. I overslept this morning and I was groggy and knew that I wouldn't really be able to bring it with this workout, so I'm glad I waited until later in the afternoon. I'm really toying with ordering P90 Masters. These workouts are just so good. We are all used to lots of variety, but I've got to say the results are coming. I LOVE your new signature line. That Traci is something, isn't she? Brought a tear to my eye when I read it. Way to go on the pullups/chin ups! Love looking back and seeing where we've come from. I need to do that during my puffy times.

Traci, we'll miss you this weekend. Hope you are kicking back and enjoying yourself right now as I type this. I'm looking forward to good things next week. No more TTOM will be a good thing.

Laurie, enjoy the water resort. Doesn't even sound good to me as it's sooo cold outside. Any water outside is frozen right now.

Tracy, hope you are feeling better. Overtrained? Can't remember if you are doing doubles or not. Take a day or two off and come back raring to go, okay? I've got to say that during this Phase 2, I've felt great, but am getting in the habit of a little catnap on the couch in the evenings, just resting my eyes for a few minutes... Feel better afterwards. Sleeping like a rock too and raring to go in the morning. I think a HRM is definitely a must for Cardio Coach. Others don't use it but I highly, highly, highly recommend it.

Gosh, it's been about 3 hours since I started this post. Have worked out (AbX) since then and also coached DH on lat pulldowns on the Bowflex and some lawnmowers. He did some ab crunches on the Bowflex and then joined me for some of AbX. He is doing better and groaning less. I mentioned doing KenpoX at his own speed tomorrow and he seemed game. I'm pleased.

Must go now, feeling really good and energized. Will check in in the morning.

Debra,
For me, using Cardio Coach to increase my power and pushing myself crossed over to more endurance at a lower pace on my bike for the longer rides. Cycling can be very time consuming, but last year, instead of "practicing" long rides, I did more hard, short rides and fewer longer rides. I was still in good shape when I did my century rides (100 miles). Also, I spent less time in the saddle on the bike, got to spend more time with DH and the girls (our dogs) and still rocked it on the bike. Win, win situation for me. Have I told you how much I love Cardio Coach? Currently, I just do one session of CC a week (inside) and that's keeping me going on the bike, giving me my cardio and keeping me in good cycling shape this winter.

Interesting, you doing a Cathe workout now, and being more conscious of "bringing it". I too was going thru the motions. I now know the difference. We've learned a lot with P90X, haven't we?
