TGIF Xers!
Today is CTX Step Intervals using TT formula….That’s it other than the Shiva Yoga MishMosh from TracyX that my body is still screaming for!

Hair got cut and my natural golden locks are back – she went waaaaay to blonde for me but what ya gonna do? Didn’t do the pics as planned last night as I got caught in a downpour leaving the salon and styling job was non existent by the time I got home….

DH staying home this weekend so maybe I can inspire him to help me with pics and website… probably not but MAYBE!

I found some contact info on my step dad so I am going to send a card (belated birthday) and see if he contacts me. He is re-married so I don’t know if that matters - my mom always told me the new wife was a witch- keep in mind my mother has issues with not being the center of every mans world tho…. I doubt I’ll cause any issues in his new marriage.

Sorry for the emotional ride yesterday… I was typing it all as it was occurring… talk about crazy! The problem is that the notice in the local obits just said Bill Black age 67 with no other info…. Come to find out after I started researching- there are 13 Bill Black’s in Bakersfield – apparently there are 3 that are 66/67! BIZARRE!!! Mom found an old listing for the brother and called him. * The reason I was talking so long to mom the day before yesterday was totally unrelated. She is manic-depressive and was having a down day so she needs to be walked thru it or she goes to bed and stays thee for days on end. ALWAYS SOMETHING!

PUB and cardio? Well you WERE feeling bad! LOL on your dinner plans… sounds like you have already un-done any damage of the previous days! That’s great that DD is taking riding lessons! Was there any fear factor for her at all?

I was so surprised to see you got a post in last night! Thanks for taking the time to unwind with the Xers! I am so sorry your ride wasn’t what you wanted. Its normal as you know to have those days where our brains & bodies are not linked. When was the last time you took a recovery week from lifting? Just thinking that even tho you are careful about your leg work in race weeks you may just be overly tired/trained now- those century rides may have put your body over the top… Just a thought. Might also just be the higher intensity you just introduced…. That REALLY takes a toll on my overall body.

Good morning,

It's supposed to be a rest day, but I don't like "sleeping in" on a weekday, so I got up at the usual time and will do some Shiva Rea yoga. TraciX, I'd like to try the suggestion TracyX gave you, but since I need to go start the workout within the next 10 minutes, I don't know if I'll be able to go back and find it. I know it was a few days ago, so I'll go look.

I meant to come back yesterday, but then the doorbell rang, my house ended up full of kids and a visiting neighbour, and that was the end of trying to get anything done. Oh well, it is what it is.

Just quickly before I go search this week's posts:

JeanetteX - I'm sorry you had a disappointing ride last night. I can't imagine how horrid it feels to climb a hill in that heat. Yuck!

Anointed - Have fun working those legs!

DebraX - You did BM2 upper THREE times?? I swear, I don't even like the sounds of doing it twice!

TracyX - Yay, nice to see you post yesterday!

NicoleX - How's your first week back with Cathe going? Are you enjoying the change?

TraciX - I still have to check out those cake links. Hopefully today. Having a m/d parent must be a nightmare. What's worse - when she's manic, or when she's depressed? You're a good daughter/wife/friend, for all you do for others. Are you still doing all the volunteer work you used to talk about on the WW forum?

Okay, time to go yogify. Then it's off to the university, pronto, to fax some more consent forms, throw the kids back in the car and drive to a neighbouring town to play in a spray park with some friends and their kids, then lunch in the car so the toddler doesn't fall asleep on the way home, then more research work for a couple hours this afternoon. Make some kind of supper concoction, and off to the cake decorating course. I don't know if I'll make it back for more chatting, but I'll try.

Hi all,

It ended up not raining yesterday, so DS and I walked up and back down the mountain. No one ever hardly walks up, they always ride the ski lift, but it is great exercise. As I was walking up, when it got steep I was saying to myself, “zip – squeeze (the butt), zip- squeeze” to get some extra benefit! Then later in the day we did a short hike to a nice waterfall and cooked out. I’m up sort of early and will go use the elliptical for at least 30 minutes once I get my fill of coffee.

Traci – Thanks for the nice words about my comment on the post on OD. I just can never understand those things. You will look smashing in the new Cathe wear. Please post us a picture and of course as Cheryl said it is a write off. I do accounting for DH’s business as my 2nd job. Which certification did you get? The DSs think I should do that, with my as they say extreme interest in fitness. Also, did you get liability insurance or have you looked into it? Sorry about the whole thing with the step dad. I hope that you get that resolved for your own piece of mind. I really hate “regret” and try not to put myself into that situation, no matter what the issue. Did you end up doing PH and CTX in one day?

Sandra – Are you interviewing for jobs? Anything that you really want?

Annointed – I don’t know which upper body routines of Cathe’s that you have, but I’ve had great results combining 2 of the shorter ones into one session; BM1 &BM2, or HST upper only and C&W upper only, etc. That gives some nice variety. I think that a 2 day split and then one all upper day per week is great to increase the upper body muscle.

Debra – You did BM2 3 times through? OMG! There is no way I could do all of those one armed dips! I hate the pre ttom out of control eating feeling. Then I develop some bad habits that I have to watch, once the hormones subside. Blue poop? I used to find rainbow poop in the yard when the kids were small. Now I just find paper towels and other indigestible stuff.

Laurie – I’m with you on the new workouts. I think that they look great. I always buy, even if it is not my absolute favorite because I know I will always use them sometime. Going from less to more cardio should be a nice shock to burn some fat as long as you eat good. You never seem to comment on bad eating though:)

Cheryl – Maybe some of that weight is water in the muscles. I always think that to get a true picture of your physique, you have to quit lifting for 4-5 days and see what the muscles really look like.

Jeanette – Sorry about the heat and the hill climb. Every time I think of physical performance and consistency I wonder how hard top athletes have to train to be in peak condition for an entire season or two. Is there any way you could have prepared differently? More water? Probably the walking would have helped to let you start again at a lower HR, but you never know. It may have shot right back up again. My motto, live and learn.

Nicole – I think that doubles every now and then is a great way to wake up the body. Cathe even puts in a doubles day in one of her rotations.

Off to use the eliptical for a while.

TraceyX: Good suggestions, thank you :) I wasn’t happy at all after previewed BC Arms & Abs, something about that man just doesn’t jive with me. Tomorrow I’m doing a total UB workout, if not probably P90X Chest&Back or BM2 doubles, I shall see.

TraciX: I’m always up early, you know me. Seriously tho, it all depends on which workout I'm doing. Ooh we, I cant wait to see em pictures:7 I NEEDDDDDD toooo seeee them:7

Okay lets talk P90X:7 I'm starting to fall in love all over again with Tony. After I finished Shoulders & Arms last night, I immediately felted DOMS in places I NEVER felted before I’m liken it :7 OMG, ARX tough sh$$, I made it all the way, even tho, I fell short on a few exercises, were as he did 25 reps I only did 22, not bad but had to stop tape to collect myself x(

When all was done, I immediately went to my w/o collection looking for BeachBody Great Abs 7 mins of pure pain, its an oldie but goodie I believe it will help prepare me for ARX, just a thought.

This morning I did GS Legs :p It's truly is a masterpiece, Tonight Kickboxing not sure which, but doing something maybe just UB , who knows. I will check back.

They offer discounted liability insurance that I am checking into. For now I am having a waiver of injury responsibility signed along with Agreement package but I do think it’s a good idea to get the insurance. I cant imagine ANY reason why you wouldn’t get certified…. This is a program where all the materials are sent to your home- you are given a deadline and then take the tests/submit photos etc…. and mail it all back. I am going to do one of their nutrition & Wellness Certifications later this year- as I want o offer that as an internet service to broaden my income potential. Never got back to CTX upper yesterday and from my chest this morning that’s fine! LOL. I rescheduled it but cant recall when. I’m doing your 2 day split/1 upper suggestion starting next week – for 3 weeks then I switch to 1 part per day for 3 weeks then its VACATION/RECOVERY !!!

This research project is keeping you VERY busy! What are you researching if I may ask? Is it something evil like the effects of cybersex on marriages ???? LOL Good for you for tackling another Yoga while “on rest duty”. I’m sure you’ve found it by now but just in case:

On the M/D….. I think her mania is more manageable for me because all I have to do islisten and say uh-huh a few times… Eventually she wears herself out,,, The depression is hard for me because it was 2 years ago that we couldn’t get her meds regulated and she was “stuck” in D for almost a full year… she started having uncontrollable shakes like parkinsons that never stopped …. I spent most of that year flying back & forth to CA to try and take care of her- smack my sister in the head (total other story) and try to go see every dr under the sun to help her. Worst year of my life. – Its over- we all survived and try to not look back but when I hear her D days it takes me right back there emotionally. I stopped my Hospice work once I started studying for AFPA- It was time and there were so many things that weren’t flowing for me with keeping up with it all that I soon realized the universe was telling me my mission had been served in that aspect. Aren’t ya glad ya asked those 2 itty bitty questions??? LOL ENJOY cake class tonight….. tell your instructor about our new Fat Cake business venture will ya? !!!

Good Golly...You ladies are on fire this morning!! I have noticed that I have started sleeping later and later...This may be a bit of a problem when DD heads back to school! Not sure if I am feeling the love for PLB today...may switch up leg workouts...or may just do yoga....don't know yet! And just to let you guys know...I am NOT in my bed posting this morning...but sitting on a chair...Does that make you guys feel better?? Also...I may have done BM2 through 3 times...but I have DOMS in my chest from doing half of PUB yesterday...LOL!!

Traci..Sorry about the hair and the rain. So DH is going to be under your feet all weekend, hunh? Tell him to please keep his clothes on while you are posting at least...LOL! Glad you have SF address...Will be interesting to hear if he contacts you. Sorry to hear that your mom has had so many issues....I can't imagine how tough that can be on you...especially if you don't have a lot of support with your siblings. Have fun with CTX today...it's an old favorite of mine....so much variety!! DD doesn't seem to be scared at all about the horsey thing. She is pretty bold in that way. I hope it is something she really enjoys and could start this is on a more permanent basis!

Tracy...Sounds like your hike was just wonderful yesterday. I probably would have walked it too...not just for the exercise, but because I HATE riding ski lifts!! My doggie like tissues too! When does DS do his competition?

TG...Glad you are feeling the love for Tony! Have you done Kenpo yet...if you are deciding on a kickboxing workiout this evening, you should check it out! And how close do you lie to Canton, Ohio?

Morning Ladies,

Rotation: Cathe's July '07
Workout: Week 2/Day 4/KM Low Impact Timesaver (I have never done this one before)

Doing Imax3 premix 3 yesterday was probably better for me than doing all the blasts (this one has half of them). I have to remember that Cathe is a crazy woman in a good way. :)

Had some more much needed rain last night, and waiting for a cold front to come through today. This weekends weather is suppose to be gorgeous. Yipee!

Traci, Hope all goes well with your stepdad. What an emotional time that must have been for you. Feel for ya on your Mom, my MIL suffers from depression. She likes to send what I call the "I Love You But.." letters to my DH, Myself and my oldest DD. Youngest DD has never said anything bad in the womans hearing yet. :) She wonders why my DH never calls her. Every time he calls, he has a crying woman on his hands. He just can't stand crying, what man really does. :D

Tracy, Sounds like you had a nice hike up the mountain.

Cheryl, Yes you will have to give us updates on how the Leanness Lifestyle works for you.

Nicole, Are you able to sit today after the B&G workout?

Debra, Ya I remember the things that our previous dog used to eat. I think our dog had a cast iron stomach, because she would eat the weirdest things. :) I don't even want to hazard a guess as to what your dog got into. :D

Jeanette, Sorry to hear about the time trial. Somedays are like that, and the heat wasn't your friend either. :( Vollyball injuries are all cleared up until probably next week Tuesday, when I get to start all over again. At least we don't have a double header next week.

Laurie...Glad you have a bit of a cold front coming through. We could use one of those too. We have condensation on our windows here from the heat and humidity. Have fun with LIC...I am sure you will enjoy it!

Jeanette...Yes, they have helmets for DD's riding...She has her own bike helmet which I am sure I could find if I really looked...but they said they would have one for her. She just has to wear jeans and tennis shoes today...no boots yet...just if she decides this is something she wants to continue. Sorry about the heat last night for your trial. I know I would probably faint out right! I just do not handle heat well anymore. I was sweating last night at dinner since we ate outside. I couldn't wait to get in the car and turn the AC on!

Okay...I think I am caught up for now. Still haven't made a decision as to what workout to do this morning. Better get off my bottom though and do something!!!

Rest day today, as I have to be fasting for new life insurance bloodtest at 9 a.m. for my business. Woo hoo! I'm having a great workout week, so not worried and will rest up for a nice extra-long workout tomorrow a.m.

Good day ladies! I just couldn’t leave my only chance to post today after reading the topic on OF on being positive. I read your posts most everyday, I think of you everyday, and I thank you everyday for keeping me in your thoughts. I don’t’ have sisters or a mom who “I could talk to” and women were plain nasty in high school. (I’ve been out for 25 yrs.) I didn’t learn how to associate properly with females. But Catheites are the best and I simply love to associate with you. Okay enough!

Workout today PlyoX. It was nice to see Tony again.

Tracy and Sandra - Thanks for the info on the shoes. I am going returning today. And re-purchasing soon, following your orders.

Netta- DD does feel accomplished I believe. Usually she has an ulterior motive – wanting something. But this is a good thing. I got my ride in solo as it didn’t rain.

DebraX – I also did BM2 upper yesterday. But, only once. You go girl!

Sorry all the time I have. We are off to a family reunion Saturday and Sunday looks booked as well.

TracyX, I may become addicted to yoga in the afternoon. I get so high strung by then it's good to have it center me again. Glad you got some hiking in. The weather finally cooperated huh? Your boys must be proud to have such a fit mom:D

Swifty AmyX, Glad you are going to exchange the shoes. You'll be glad you did! I don't think many salesmen get the whole aerobics class thing and it's different needs. I am so glad you feel comfortable with all of us:) I'm happy you can check-in anytime. Some of us may be a little long winded but never let it intimidate you or feel like you have to keep up. My DH says I have diarrhea of the mouth sometimes:)LOL!!

Cheryl, Lucky you having the day off. Mine are always on Sundays so I get jealous when someone has one in the middle of the week. How is work going? Keeping busy?

Back for a quick visit....I am heading to take a nap...just not feeling myself today....very cranky!! DD had fun at her riding lesson...she was a little nervous, but handled it well. She needs to gain some strength in her legs...I figured I would have her do some squats with Cathe...LOL! I think it is something she wants to continue with. We will talk about it over the weekend and make a final decision on Monday.

Nicole...I think you have a great idea of doing Kenpo and yoga...will probably help me get out of this funk. Hope you have finished with all of your chores! How was BM2??
