Xer .....Wednesday------_____-----

Not so whippy day on the workout front for me.....Slo Mo legs was really aggravating my back, so I had to cut it shortx( Those Jefferson squats were about to KILL me!!! I understand now about the form warning!

Amy: That’s sucks! When I brought Amy's workout I came home to preview it, I actually did a few of the exercises just because and WOWZA felted it in my lower back, wasn't pretty. I think you’ll have too really use light weights plus a weight belt, if you have one. I know for me when doing squats first thing I grab is my belt. I may have to try it soon or it’ll sit there with all the othersx( Have a great day

S&A + ARX done!

I'll have to do personals later because sitting at this computer is killing my back right now:(

Nicole

Bring it!!!

Today was not a good day, I just ate 4 large cookies, the ones with the soft dough, with orange icing yummy:9 :9 :9 and one snicker bar, wow, I'm bad. Tomorrow will be a better day, night..night

Oh no!

Debra - I'm not a back expert, but that sounds like something is pressing on you sciatic nerve. Ice and Ibuprofen, I'm so sorry. Did you do the Slo Mo legs yesterday?

Amy - My back was really irritated when I did Slo Mo the first time. I've gone way down in my weights and tried doing 2 sets last time instead of 3. I still felt some doms and I'm hoping to build up my back. I may sub that first squat and do a bent leg dead lift instead.

TG - I'm so sorry about Ted. Nothing gets in the way of my workout and no one tells me what to do. There are certain things that I will not compromise on. That's something you have to decide, but I hate control.

I'll catch up with everyone else later.

Tracy

Hello Xers,

For some strange reason my computer at work was timing out, so I couldn't chat with you all during work hours. :D Oh well. I just walked the dog and am going to change and do my workout. BBL for more chatting.

Shoulders & Arms / ARX / 30 Min Run if I have enough energy.

Got done crushing ARX and Shoulders & Arms (including bonus). I had a lot of dread factor going into ARX (especially still being sore from Monday), but it went well and I did more reps (but still not all). I really like S&A, too :) It's one of my favorites. I like the sequencing. I feel like I can go heavy and get a good workout without totally killing myself. I finally felt like today was the first day I really BROUGHT IT!! lol.

Teddygirl -- LOL about the workout. If my DH did all that for me, I'd be saying, "Tony who?" lol. He's not that thoughtful, but I'm glad yours is!

Jeanette -- Cruddy as I felt this morning, once I got going, I've been ok. I hope this germ is on the way OUTTA HERE!

Debra -- I love seg. 2 of Stretch Max when my back's sore. Eoin is good, too, but Cathe works magic, lol.

Sandra -- You're adding extra cardio in week 2? You're insane (in a Tony kind of way, lol). Great job with all that working out!

Traci-X -- I'm all good with cardio, lol. I definitely won't be adding until Phase 2. I think my quads would quit if I added on right now ;-)

Nicole -- Great job BRINGING IT today!

I'm tired so I'm going to eat dinner and crash on the sofa with the kiddos. I hope you all have a restful evening!

Hi everyone,

I only have a quick moment, but I was just reading the Jan /08 edition of Oxygen. Two things jumped out at me that I just have to comment on:

1. in her column, Tosca Reno admits that she's had breast augmentation. She was 36B, wanted Cs, but the doc gave her Ds. She felt uncomfortable with those, so went back to Bs. She states that the majority of the women in the Oxygen magazine have had breast implants, because boob fat goes away for everyone who has very low body fat. The inflated boobs help balance out the visual proportion. I feel thrilled knowing this. I feel like the pressure to attain the look of those women is gone, because obviously there's no way I can do that without the help of surgery. I also feel relieved knowing for certain that the look of these women is not natural. Okay, just had to share that.

2. speaking of cosmetic surgery, there's an ad on page 80 for liposuction, breast augmentation, tummy tucks, etc......as well as "labial contouring, clitoral reduction, vaginal rejuvenating, g-spot procedure", and possibly the most astounding: "hymen restoration." I'm just speechless. Actually, so many thoughts come to mind that I don't even know where to begin.

Finally, for you American Oxygen readers, are there frequent references to Canadian universities, research, and competitions? For example, in this edition there's a whole article reporting on the Toronto Classic. I find a lot of Canadian references in this magazine and was wondering if they are required to add a certain amount of Canadian content, or if you all are reading the same magazine as me? Perhaps American boys aren't as concerned about hymen restoration as Canadian ones appear to be?

I should have posted at the start that this post is for adult reading only :+

Sandra
- do you think they use Saran Wrap?

Back Again,

I didn't do the 30 min. run, but will probably run a little later on the TM. I wanted to look at the Trainers Edge Long & Lean DVD I received. Best way for me to preview is when I'm not sitting on my duff. :D

Yesterday Cami decided that she would keep me company during PlyoX. Only time she looked at me was when I was jumping the gap. She must have thought that I was going to land on her.

Tracy, Running with your DS sounds like a good time, and he wants to run hills!! :D I try to avoid if I can.

Lea, Glad to hear that DS is doing good. My how life is horrid when we don't get enough sleep. I know I get cranky when I am tired. ;-)

Traci, I just had to work out with Dreya, and I was happy she was doing the light weights. Made me feel so superior. Then she had to go and show off with the Ti-rise. x( I was watching a commerical on TV yesterday, and I swear that she was the woman jumping on the garbage truck. Some inusrance company commercial. I must be going off the deep end. Then of course Tony is saying she floats through the air, and I'm thinking I might be right. :7 Talking about Tony I read on a blog that the price of the P90X+ DVD's will be $14.95 each or 2 payments of $29.95. I will try to find the info when I have the chance.

Carol, The bonus round is my fav also. I'm thinking Tony did that on purpose so I wouldn't stop doing plyo until the end. :7 :7 WOW or should I say MOM on bringing it today! I agree SA is a goodie.

TG, Of couse you can put of the X until next week, but don't let Ted stop you again. :7 :7 All that sweet talking! :7 Have to say that I think Traci is right, Ted must be not like Tony!!:7

Amy, Glad to see that you are still kicking, or is it stepping. Again another verification that I just will not be doing any step workouts from Amy. I don't think I could even figure it out in 90 min. :7

Jeanette, ARX was a killer for me tonight. Just makes me wonder why I didn't want to add this one into my workout after the X. Oh ya! I got sick of the dang thing. :D Good idea going lighter on the weights.

Debra, So sorry to hear about your back! Your meez is cute, but is she falling? Maybe that is why your back went out. Dang those high animal print shoes. ;-)

Sandra, This week so far is tough on the abs. Can't believe I was neglecting them so badly. Just love SA though. I went a little lighter on what I ended round 2 with. Few of the exercises I went back up on the 2nd round. Felt great! Will let ya know what the mag says here when I buy it. Haven't seen the new one in the store yet. Oh just to answer your ? form yesterday. I am using bands for back work. I don't have anyplace to put a pull-up bar.

Nicole, I know you already know, but take care of yourself!! I hope you are feeling better soon. See again the meez looks like an accident waiting to happen. Cute one though.

Well I have to get something in my stomach, and then I need to go to the grocery store. Oh what fun!! NOT!

Have a great evening,

Laurie

Hi all,

I did S&H ch/tri/delts. I only did 2 exercises for delts because my shoulders are looking pretty good from all of the yoga. I was able to use 30's for several rounds of bench, then went down to 25's and 20's for the last couple of sets on the incline. I couldn't go quite as heavy for tri/delts, but I think that is because I really went heavy on back earlier. I'm feeling very solid, if I must say so myself:) I didn't do the SJP leg work. I looked at it and it is so minimal and I've done something with legs, either cardio or weights, for the last 10 days. I decided to just do some Shiva and then tomorrow is a rest day for me.

Nicole - I see your back is hurting. I wouldn't do ARX under any circumstances. I'm telling you, you're asking for more back trouble; modified or not. It is not for people with tight hips and it just makes the hip flexors tighter.

Amy - I see you liked Amy's new step. I think it is a keeper. I was drenched by the end and I didn't even work it hard yet. I'm excited to have something new, and fun, and challenging.

Jeanette - I would have no trouble not using a brush. A few years ago, my assistant got me brushes for Christmas as a hint to brush my hair more. We are very good friends, and I took no offense. I just don't do hair. I bet yours looks cute!

Carol - Is this your first X journey or second? Glad you were able to bring it even if you didn't feel well.

got to cook.

Tracy

Hi all...back to check on the Xing progress today. I am still in a lot of pain...even though I am loaded up on pain meds. Yuck. I have been alternating ice and heat too. I read about sciatica on a back pain website and I think it may be my piriformis giving me the problems. I have lower back pain, but really it starts in my hip and radiates out from there. So no Eoin for me...I did a little stretching this morning and I will do some more this evening.

****Tracy Hope you enjoy your rest day tomorrow. Give those legs a break! I did Slo Mo back and shoulders yesterday...and tried to use good form, but it was the first time for me doing many of those exercises.

****Carol Glad you enjoyed your workout today...I love ow you are so gung ho!

****Sandra You post about the boobies goes back to what I was saying yesterday about Jari's and Amy's...I wonder if they too had some work done. I am not a regular Oxygen reader, but I don't remember any Canadian facilities being mentioned. It seems like I read in some other women's health magazine about how there are a lot of women who are self conscious about their private regions and how many of them have surgery to make themselves feel better. Who knew? I gotta tell you, that is way down on my list of priorities of cosmetic surgeries...LOL! Hope things work out with the potential babysitter so that you can get some things done. Grocery shopping...UGH! Glad to hear you are improving with your weights!

***Laurie Sorry your computer at work was playing games with you today! I have to push Polly out of my way sometimes while exercising...she has pretty much learned to lay around in the hall outside my workout room. Those high heels are a killer!

****Teddygirl Just tell sweet Ted how it is...in a nice way, of course!

***Nicole Glad you got your workout in...i am having lots of sympathy pain for your back!

***Amy Sorry your back is bothering you too...Hopefully it is just a bit of strain and no real injury.

***Traci Glad Wendell is slowly crawling out of the dog house. I promise I took it easy today...although I really have lots to do, so I was a bit frustrated! Look at you baking away!!! What a good homemaker you are!

Okay...caught up again...I am going to watch TV for a while and then head off to an early night night!

I can already feel S&A! I am wondering if ARX is going to be a problem. I can really feel it in my back! I might sub with Core Max and rotate the three versions every other week.

I have been feeling quite overwhelmed lately with my role as a mother. I am so tired and frustrated right now. I need a break and there is not one in sight. Every day is the same and I am tired of it right now. I feel like I would be a better mother if I could just relax for a couple of days. I did that 1-1/2 years ago and it was great!

You girls have been quite chatty today, I don't know if I can keep up;)

Here is a link for Tony's new workouts:
http://www.beachbody.com/product/p90x_plus.do

*Traci-X, We are supposed to be eating clean and you're talking about banana cinnamon bread:p Way to show Felicia who's boss:) I can't wait to see your new do! Did you get your workout in today? I find myself giggling at Tony like he's an old friend telling a joke. I love his personality. Be nice to Wendell, we all have our short comings. I am secretly giving myself advice through you;) I'm glad to hear he at least feels guilty, some men wouldn't even go that far.

*Tracy, Thanks for the heads up on ARX. I was thinking the same thing when I did it. I'm glad my chiro warned me about my tight hip flexors being a problem. I most likely won't do ARX again. I am anxious to see your shoulders of steel:) We need updated pictures!

*Lea, Love the halo:) Hope you had fun at Whole Foods. I love that place but it's 40 minutes away and I don't get there as often as I would like.

*Carol, I know right where you are with the cardio of the X. I was that way the first time I did it. The first time I went back to Cathe when I was done I noticed a vast improvement in my endurance because of PlyoX. I may add it in a few times this round. S&A is a good one isn't it? I hope you feel better soon!

*Latrese, I'm glad you are able to vent to us. I hope this all comes out in the wash. I think it's an insecurity thing for Ted. I guarantee he wants to be #1 ahead of your fitness. My DH is the same way, he likes the results but not the method. You'll make a way, I know you:)

*Amy, Ohhh, sorry work is so busy. That isn't a good thing in your line of work;) Be careful with that back!

*Jeanette, You can take a breath now, no PlyoX on the Lean rotation:) I may add it in a few times in place of CardioX depending on how my back feels. I would guess they'll give me an MRI if they see a need for it. I think they want me to stop all exercise to find the problem but that's not gonna happen. Are you golfing tomorrow? Did your raise go through?

*Oh Debra, I do not want you on the IL with me! You be careful with that back. I'm glad to know you'll listen:) Take a nap and take it easy. Your body must have known this was coming because you had recovery planned already. It could be your psoas muscle. It runs from the front of your hip over your obliques and up to your back. Stretch those hip flexors! I literally feel your pain. Did you ever get a new masseuse?

*Sandra, How was the grocery store? I take my youngest with me while the boys are at school. It's actually easier when they're all with me. They keep each other busy:) Snow gear? I can't imagine. It was 70 degrees outside today and I couldn't get warm. You can tell I've been living in Southern CA my whole life:p Oxygen magazine is based in Canada so that's why there is so much Canadian talk in there. My version is the same. I read that article with Tosca too and I'm glad she went back to B's, it looks much better. As far as the vaginal rejuvination, I've seen it on Dr. 90210 and thought it sounded interesting. After three kids it might be a thought:)

*Laurie, Let me know how the TE DVD is. Glad Cami is entertained by your workouts:) I was just starting to enjoy 4DS BC so I may sub that in place of Cardio X sometimes. I am already feeling my back}{ I'll be taking it easy this round:) Have fun at the store!

I'm off to bed! I'm taking lots of Motrin so Debra and I will be two peas in a pod:D

Nicole

Bring it!!!

Evening ladies,
Lots of chattiness and yuk, aches and pains going on I see. I'm very much looking forward to some yoga tomorrow. Not sure but thinking I may do a Shiva. Yep, yoga for me tomorrow. I did Ab....Ripper....X tonight. I was really surprised that it wasn't that difficult for me. In fact, I had no problem with the Mason Twists at all. Like I said, I was very surprised. Core is feeling better.

Latrese, I feel for you, but I agree with the others that exercise is YOUR time, and it's very important to your physical and mental health. It really isn't much time in the evenings for a workout. I did AbX tonite, and it was only 16 minutes. Heck, DH can be in the bathroom going #2 for that long. Hope you can work it out. Also hope it is not a control issue either. Okay, bad eating for you today. Me too, plus I stopped at my Mom's with a bottle of wine and had 1/2 a glass before coming home. I love drinking wine with my Mom. I don't do that too often. Anyway, today was not good for eating, but I feel marvelous from working my muscles harder with the X. Can't wait until you start. My DH loves to BBQ too, now he asks if he can put some plain chicken breasts on the grill for me. Those are great and I use them for my lunches for the following week.

Debra, so sorry about your back. I can't imagine the pain you are feeling. Please rest and let it relax. My hair turned out well this morning. Liked not using a brush on it and when I went into the bathroom during the day at work, I'd scrunch it some more. Think this haircut will be good for me.

Sandra, nice workout today. S&A was a good one for me too and the time flew. However, I didn't do the bonus round. Will do that another time. That's great that your strength is almost where it was at the end of Round 1. I went lower and didn't Bring It fully. I will eventually though. Just getting used to it again. Hope you can find out the name of the CIA workout with Christi. I do love her stuff, mostly because she keeps me from being bored. Okay, PlyoX will be done one of these times. Promise. I'm still waiting for that day when I get to stay home and bake. Heaven it will be. Cold there is it? Our highs have been in the 40's. Sandra, interesting about what you read in Oxygen and cosmetic surgery. Where is the point where we need to accept our physical flaws? I'm finally getting more and more accepting of my unperfect body. I don't obsess so much and am liking me for ME, not my body so much. And when my weight has been up, it's not the end of the world like it used to be. Nice to let that go.

Lea, I think you will be doing the right thing to sub. I know I need variety to keep the enthusiasm up.

Traci, you sweet, sweet woman :* . Imax3 arrived today in the mail. Thank you so much! I previewed the warmup and start to the first interval before DH came home tonight. I'm thinking of doing it or part of it in place of CardioX or PlyoX sometime. Thanks so much!!! Wow, 16 loaves of bread! What don't you do, you superwoman? Did Wendell get his special surprise;-) cupcakes? Glad you put some fear into Wendell. They need to be shaken up sometimes, we all do. Yep, already my arms and core are feeling leaner. That makes me happier, plus my arms are a bit curvier already. And only 3 days? Maybe it's the wine, just kidding. Your haircut appointment sounds like a big ordeal. I feel fortunate to live in a tiny town sometimes. Other times, not so much. Have you decided on a style?

Amy, take it very easy with your back. I don't really like the Cohen curls in S&A. I lean against the door to help support my back. I try to be so careful not to hurt myself. Probably why I don't get the great muscle results that others get.

Tracy, I'm with you on the advice to Latrese re: exercise time. My DH never complains either, but then again, I usually do all my exercising in the morning and a shortie if any in the evening. He wouldn't care if I worked out at night, as long as I didn't take over our only TV. Even then, he'd probably just go out and buy another TV so we'd both be happy. I'm really pleased with my hair today, though only one person commented on it and in a good way.

Carol, great job on the crushing of the X in today's S&A!!! And the bonus round also!! I just didn't have it in me to complete that part, though I always did it in Round 1. Isn't the sequencing awesome? Know you are going to just get great results and be so jazzed with your accomplishments in this rotation. Glad AbX went well for you too. It's a good one for me. Fifer Scissors are tough for me in that I can't keep my legs anywhere near straight.

Laurie, Cami is really bonded to you, isn't she? I'm doing yoga tomorrow, first time in long, long time. Know the pups will be wondering what the heck I'm doing. When they see me get the step out, they get out of the way. I stepped on Tillie when she was a pup so she never gets close when I'm working out anymore. A smart one she is. I think I've heard before that Dreya is the lady jumping on the garbage truck. I'll have to pay more attention. I felt my hip flexors first thing when I did the bicycles and in and outs.

Nicole, hope you can get a break from the kids soon. I never felt that way because I had to go back to work as soon as DS was a few months old. I always felt guilty being away from him. Please take care of your back!!! I'm hoping to get some golf in on Saturday or Sunday. Saturday we are going out in the morning to get a Christmas tree. Mom and Dad and possibly other family members will be coming too. Should be lots of fun. Will golf if we get back in time, but not counting on it. Probably will be a Sunday golf time instead (bike time too).

Hi to Swifty, Cheryl and Wendy too!

Jeanette
