Xer ---- Thinking Thursday

Back to catch up before night night. My back is feeling much better this evening...don't know if it is the stretching I did today or the lovely pain meds I have been taking! Anyway...whatever, it's working! I did a lot of Eoin's PY4H...some of the vinyasas in the beginning...and added a few in when I felt like I could. The up and down dogs felt much better than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. I did all of the hip flexor moves and all of the hip opening moves and I definitely felt some improvement. I got a lot of errands done today...and even got my Chanukah cards signed and addressed! WooHoo! All Christmas decorations are complete...and I only have a little shopping to do, which I am planning on finishing up tomorrow afternoon. Then all that is left is some holiday baking at my leisure. Are you all jealous??????

~~~~~personals~~~~~~
****Laurie Sorry you are still having complications with your work computer. Congrats on completing YogaX...you are truly dedicated! I bet DD's room is going to look fabulous...Does she do a good job of keeping it clean?? I will be glad when my DD is old enough to want to clean up after herself...but if memory serves, I didn't clean up after myself until I was 30. Glad you and Cami are fast friends. Are you watching the Packers tonight?
****Carol WooHoo on finishing YogaX..You are doing great!
****Traci Well, thank goodness you are 30ish! Think of how much you have learned since then...you have lots of years left to correct any of those mistakes you made in your 30's!! It's great you are in such wonderful shape...Did you do some plyo jacks in the office to prove how young you are?? Sorry you didn't get to YogaX, though...But think of how good you will do with that 30 year old body tomorrow!
****Sandra You must really have a screw loose to like YogaX...LOL! I think the Canadian cold is getting to your brain. Okay...with the backbends....I do fine with Camel pose...it's the ones that start from flat on the floor that I have problems with...I get up into bridge just fine...and I am confident about my form on that since we have been over it in my yoga class...Is it possibly a lack of upper body strength that is hampering my full backbend? I feel really unstable with putting my arms back (instead of under me as in bridge) to lift myself up...I understand what you are saying about the elongation part...Obviously, I can't practice right now since my back is already yucky...so I may have some more questions once I feel like my back is healthy enough to attempt one again. LOL about the holiday rush on the new boobies! You crack me up!! I got my Bryan Kest on Amazon. Do you ever do ARX first? That really used to help me during my first round...I found my legs weren't as tired and I was able to perform the ab moves more effectively. I always had an easy time with the side tri rise too...Just take it as a gift and go on about your world!
****Nicole Look at you go with YogaX! Hope you get that girls night out...we all need that once in a while!
****Jeanette Glad you enjoyed Bryan today...I don't have the one you mentioned...Do you like it? How hard is it?? Let's see...weekend plans...Farmer's market on Saturday with my mom...then CB and I are taking DD to the movies on Saturday night...not sure what we are going to see yet...gotta look that up. Maybe a football game on Sunday...depending on the weather. Sounds like you have a full weekend planned with the tree gathering and cycling and golfing! Lunch was fun with the kiddos...I am reading with them in the morning...more germs to catch...maybe I will wear a surgical mask so that I don't catch anything else!
****Lea Love the meez! I can imagine the outfits your boys picked out. Congrats on getting KM done today!
***Teddygirl Go on with your bad self and the MUCH younger man!! I'm glad you set some boundaries...hopefully you guys can work all of that out, since it sounds like you guys are really into each other.
Okay...think I am caught up for now! I will see you all in the morning. I have to read with the germ infested urchins in the morning...Then I am hoping to do a light cardio...maybe just walking...and some more stretching to get my back all the way better....Hopefully I will be able to go back to weights on Saturday.
Good night to all!!
Debra
Good evening,
Busy today at work, didn't get as much done as I'd like. The promotion is sitting on the Personnel Mgr's. desk along with some others and I fear will be waylaid there for a while. I think I'll ask my boss to ask the Warden to put pressure on her to get it a'moving! This woman doesn't answer her phone, return voice mail messages, return emails. Nothing. Everyone has the same complaint about her. Okay, that's on my list to do tomorrow. Oh yeah, I got my replacement Tracey Staehle HISMII workout today. Will have to fit it in somewhere. Hmmmm...
Nicole, I'm sure hoping you have a really nice time with your friend this weekend. What are you planning? I was watching TV tonite and there was a segment on a teahouse in Reno. Seemed like it would be really nice to go to a place like that. Actually, we do have a place like that in our town. I need to take my mom, grandma and sisters there. I think it would be just the ticket! Might not be too exciting for a youngster like you though. Some scones and clotted cream would be just what the doctor might order LOL! Guess I'm finally mellowing out and appreciating slower events/doings. Anyway, hope you get rejuvenated by a much deserved rest. Did you do all of YogaX? I enjoyed my Bryan Kest today.
Sandra, hope Jump & Pump is a blast with your DD. Does she love to go too? Is she the DD that I remember holding the weights and looking at the TV on your Picture Trail? She's a doll! I would love the Christi Taylor tape. You know, I have 3 Bryan Kest VHS tapes from his Power Yoga Series. Would you like one of them? They are challenging. Let me know and I will send one to you. I know Tracy has this series too. I just don't do yoga that much (bad me). I'm not sure what the key is to the Dreya Rolls except the weeble wobble thing. I'm so inflexible in my back/neck that I don't even go very far back on the mat and I can still come forward without my hands. Mason Twists have never been too hard for me, maybe because of my bike riding? Not sure. Re: side-tri-rise, they are fairly easy for me to do too. Maybe I'm not doing them right either. At the end of Round 1, I was doing 35-37 of them per side. I think my big hips hold me down pretty good and upper body is on the light side. Yep, that's the secret.
Latrese, would love to hear how you met Ted sometime. I really hope we all get to meet this year. There will be lots of stories I'm sure. Incredible bond going on on this check-in, don't you agree? So happy you have found the love of your life. You'll get him broke in one of these days.
Traci, sorry about the length of time at the Dr's. today. I decided to skip my exams this year and go next year when I turn 50. I'll also get the bone density test done at that time. Any other tests that I should pursue, besides regular chem panel, mammo, and pap? Always a great feeling to get a compliment on our fitness/looks. I told a Lt. and officer yesterday that I was 49 and they couldn't believe it, or acted like they couldn't anyway.
Carol, way to go on your YogaX today!!! I know it's good, but I just don't want to give 90 minutes to it. Know I could break it up, but I just don't. I love Tony's goofiness. I like it in S&A yesterday when he says his head weighs 600#, and not a damn thing in it. Makes me crack up. I'm sure missing Wendy. You heard anything?
Laurie, sorry about the computer problems. I know the feeling about dreading talking to someone with such a strong accent that you have to keep having them repeat themselves. Bet your DD's room looks great. What is L&L workout? You cracked me up about Cami liking cheese. I swear our dogs can hear the fridge open, the cheese come out of the wrapper and the knife on the cutting board. I told my DH just now what you wrote and he smiled cuz he knows how ours are about cheese. From a dead sleep. They absolutely love cheese, every day. Of course, I love it too. Sorry about skipping YogaX on you today. I just have a hard time with that one for some reason. Will probably always sub it.
Debra, what a great day you had today!! You got a lot done and in much less pain too. MMmmmmm, holiday baking! I do like Bryan Kest's Intensive Body Sculpting. I think it's pretty tough. Really works my legs good. He cooks them! Your weekend plans sound absolutely wonderful!!! I'm looking forward to the tree gathering event. I need to grocery shop after work in preparation... hot cocoa, peppermint schnapps, whipped cream, weinies, buns. Hey, it's a tradition and I'm all for those! DH will probably build a campfire for us to stand around as the weather will be in the high 30's I think. My parents will be going but will leave grandma home. She can be left for several hours and is okay.
Hi to Swifty (where are you?), Amy, Cheryl and of course, Wendy (miss you girlfriend).
Night, night,
Jeanette
Well, it's the end of another very long day! The good news is my BFF may go to the movies with me on Saturday. I think we're going to see August Rush. We're going to get coffee tomorrow which will be nice:)
My back is bugging a bit but YogaX was good today. I made sure not to lock my knees so it was better.
DH is off for the next four days and I know he'll help with the boys. The timing is perfect!
*Tracy, I think it's a good thing I'm doing Lean this time. The CS will be good for me as well as the yoga. Between the two I should be set core wise. How did you do on your quiz? Aren't you almost done with this class? How are you doing in it? Do you have to get a certain grade for it to count?
*Traci-X, So sorry to hear you're having a day from you know where}{ I think AT&T knows they're the only game in town so they can make everyone fit their schedule. I know they will be serious competition for my DH's company when they get 100% on their cable and Internet. You had quite a busy day today to top it off! I'm with you on taking time for ourselves! I feel guilty when I do but I need to stop that. I think it's because I don't work that I feel guilty stopping to do something for myself. Sorry you have to do doubles tomorrow to make up for the Dr's appointment. Good news about being 30 at heart! See we are the same age;) How did the client go? Hey, do you still have my sisters e-mail? I'll be going to pick up the calendar tomorrow and I could pick up the other e-mail too. I can't figure out how to allow e-mails from you. I had this happen with my cousin too:(
*Carol, Glad you liked YogaX. I like him because he's very athletic about the whole thing. I do my own thing for meditation on my Holy Yoga so it works for me. I'm doing my other yoga two times a week so it fits in nicely. Hope Bible study was good and you have your family fed and in bed:)
*Teddygirl, Glad you are stickin' with Ted. He sounds like a keeper, sabotage and all:)
Just tell him you're older and wiser;)
*Debra, Hopefully all of the kiddos gave you their germs last week and they are germ free this week:D Glad your back is a bit better today. I need to ice mine more. The PT told me too but the thought of icing in November is not on the top of my list:p I go to PT tomorrow so we'll see what they say. I hope to take you up on your advice Saturday. I wish there were more girl movies out right now. Have fun at class and wash your hand a lot! Have fun baking. I did that Tuesday and proceeded to eat 8 of the cookies. No more baking for me:p
*Lea, Your meez sure is active! I guess that raw, green food is working out:) KM is a killer! I will be subbing it a couple of times in place of Kenpo too. Hope you had a great day!
*Jeanette, Yoga X is definitely an acquired taste. I have acquired the taste:) I know what you mean about corpse pose. DS had a big blanket out in the living room so when I did corpse I pulled it over myself and just about fell asleep:) Sorry your promotion is taking so long to go through. I'm sure with the holidays they are trying to put off anything like that. Even the government gets tight around the holidays:p Scones and cream:9 My fave! I used to get scones where I went to college and I've never had any better. They were more like sweet biscuits than muffin texture:9 We actually have a tea house here in my small town. I may go to the holiday tea they are having in a couple weeks. That will be fun, thanks for the reminder!
* Sandra, I can't believe you didn't know Oxygen was based in Canada! I always get jealous because I picture all of these in shape women roaming the streets. I just figured there was nothing else to do up there because there are so many fit Canadians in the magazine:) Thanks for the advice on taking a break, I really need to! DH would let me but I have a hard time letting myself. I never want anyone to have leverage on me. I guess I am doing that to my own detriment.
*Laurie, which reminds me, how come we still don't have any pictures of all this redecorating? I'm pretty sure I've been bugging you since day one;) You must also remember to take your P90X progress pics. I have to remember that myself:) Hope you were able to relax with the second portion of YogaX!
Off to bed. Have a great night:*
Nicole
