Happy Good Morning! Its vacation day so of course I'm up at 1am ready to start the day- should be absolutely wiped out by the time we arrive in Bakersfield at 2:30 (4:30 our body time)! LOL

Will miss you all terribly as I wont be taking computer and I think moms is too old too load a forum site without crashing...if I have insomnia I may be able to attempt to wave unless of course mom has changed the sleeping arrangements AGAIN and she sleeps in the extra room with puter.... We are back late Monday so I'll see you guys again on Tuesday.

Nicole X!!! I think you are so right about the funeral… You took the time to do what was important with DGM. She knows you love her…. I think your situation is a perfect example of how life moves forward and must be embraced. I LOVE the visual of DGM dancing yet again with grandpa! Tracy X!!! Hope you decided on something fun for your workout yesterday! Are you completely through with double night meetings? ^5 on throwing out floorwork! Doesn’t take much for us to do that does it? I think 200 walking lunges a week will MORE than make up for any 12 minute floor routine!

Sandra X!!! Thanks for running to say bye bye yesterday! I could tell you were out of breath! I think its good that you re-introduce some type of protein… I can certainly tell if I’m not getting enough… On the Soy- I think its like anything…moderation! Dairy has all the same outward effects of soy on me so I just don’t like throwing out the baby with the bathwater… Do what makes you feel good and fuels your body… The rest I believe all works out. THANKS FOR THE CONFETTI!!!

Jeanette X!!! Glad you got to crash a bit last night! I love those little breaks early in the evening. Happy to hear that DGS is on the mend… I’m sure he’ll be sore for a week or so but gosh he’s lucky- little guy wont realize what a close call he had until later in life.

TeddyGirl!!! Thanks for that sweet sendoff note yesterday! There shall be ZERO workouts for me this trip- when DH goes with me I just bag it as he and I are both up at crack of dawn and there really isn’t any place for me to workout- everyone’s places are very little – not even a place to sleep except on couches/rollouts etc… I try not to disrupt THEIR routines as everyone is pretty neurotic (literally) – my attempt to keep a low profile! NICE w/o yesterday- we all have off days… at least you don’t take theat literally like I do! LOL

I think you might be better off not making any major life decisions, doing errands, returning emails etc… until this passes in a day or 2! Hi again,

Yesterday I had a nice 3 mile or so run at a fast pace and it felt great. I wasn't so darn stiff this morning like when I run longer distances. Of course I did Tone afterwards and that always helps. I'm really getting the twisting down and can almost do a decent twisting triangle. That has taken months for me to get to that point. It's not perfect yet, but the upper torso is close to perpendicular to the ground.

Today is legs and a short upper body. I'm not sure what yet, maybe SS 3x, since that really was hard the last time I attempted it, and the walking lunges.

Sandra - Another reason I'd be leary of a lot of soy is the weak, but still discussed connection with breast cancer. I asked my surgeon about it and she said only in very modest amounts; not as a sole protien source. Although I'm really not sure that the meat is a whole lot better, but at least you can rotate meats and not get too much of any one. Once I started limiting the carbs, mainly pasta, rice, white bread, I've had no trouble maintaining my weight, actually I've lost inches. When I don't eat enough protein, like Nicole said, I end up eating many more calories in carbs.

I'm so sorry that I missed Traci before she left!!! I hope that you have a great trip and enjoy your time with family.....and Lea!!!

It's 0700, and breakfast is finished! Another spinach/mushroom omelet and this time one for DH! I'm going to let it settle before working out. I missed yesterday's due to sleeping all day!!! I'm NOT kidding about that!

Good Morning Ladies!

Today's workout is GS Legs, but I didn't do it this morning after nearly puking last week doing LB first thing in the morning. I'll be tackling this one after lunch, though, and I'm looking forward to it (even with all those evil pulses }( ) I couldn't get ahold of the orthodontist yesterday... The normal assistant is out of the office all week and the person taking over didn't even start answering the phones 'til 10! Yikes. I left a message for the doc, but she never called me back. I don't even think she had office hours yesterday, though (she teaches quite a bit, too), so I'll have to call back and express my urgency to the gal. And, for the 2nd day in a row, my DH got himself up BEFORE 6am to catch the early train for work :-O Knock me over with a feather, lol! He's SOOO not a morning person, but his boss said he could leave work on the earlier train (an hour earlier) if he shifted his morning arrival time, and he's DOING it!! I'm very impressed, lol.

Tracy -- That's funny about your workout b/c I did a cardio premix from DM the day before yesterday ;-) Then the LIC cardio yesterday. Back to weights today, though. I hear ya on the weather, too. We had a nice t-storm last night, which I love, but it's OCTOBER for crying out loud! lol. I do think it's supposed to cool down tomorrow, though.

Sandra -- Eating frequent meals makes me feel better, too. As for the protein, I find in order to get enough in, I need to include it every time I eat. I like egg whites so I usually have about 4/day. Just some thoughts for ya :) As for the braces, there are these very small, tight colored bands they usually put around the brackets. They did this on my DS, but then they tied the wire to the bracket with another one to advance his teeth. That's the band that popped off. Man oh man, chest and back is screaming ouch! After, I finished UB workout this morning, I could barely raise my arm in the tubx( It all started with me thinking S&H wasn’t enough so I tacked on MIS and boy am I feeling it real good;) ;)

Yesterday, I couldn't resist the weather, it was too beautiful, so instead of working upper body, I went for a nice long walk, took me 1 hour and 45 minutes I beat my record by 5 minutes. Got home took me bubble bath and slept like a baby, ttys :7

Today was Slim Series Mix It Up. Also have golf class tonite. It's supposed to rain this morning and clear up by this afternoon. Have a big BBQ at our house on Saturday for DS's entry into the Journeyman Lineman profession. His apprenticeship was 3 years and now he's done so he wants to invite a bunch of friends and family and celebrate on Saturday. I need to talk to him and see what he wants on the menu besides tri-tip.

Traci, we'll miss you, but hoping you have a good time. Will be nice to just rest the bod. Bet you'll be itching to get back to working out later. Know your mind will be busy, busy thinking up new rotations. I always wear eye makeup. Me with my short lashes need all the help I can get.

Tracy, so glad the shorter run feels good. I stayed in pretty good cycling shape this year by just riding harder, but shorter rides. Less time consuming that way and I could spend more time with DH and family. Good job on your twists. I'm sure yoga would help my golf muscles.

Amy, that omelet sounds yummy! Glad you got to sleep. Body must have needed it.

Carol, your son is a cutey! Is that a bunny on his shoulder? Hope you can get in to the ortho. Enjoy GS Legs after lunch. Once in a while I get the nausea thing when I work out in the morning. Usually it's when starting a cardio workout. Wonder where that comes from and why it passes.

Anointed, you wouldn't have liked my walk yesterday. I got 1/2 way around the track yesterday and was thinking I might have a lower body bug (diarhea). Had to cut the walk short. Hard to enjoy when you are trying not to have a nasty accident! Glad yours was better than mine!

Really cold on my morning walk with the dog. I don't know what it was, but I think it was around 45 deg. Cami seemed to love it. I didn't think to wear gloves or a hat.

Darn it I missed Traci. But then again, did she say she was up at 1am. :D I'm sawing logs at that time of the morning. Hope you have save travels. We will miss you.

DH had a meeting with faire management and they are going to extend him a contract for next year. So the rumor mill can now be put to rest that he is being replaced. Again can I say these people are living in Payton Place.

That sametime meeting was nothing yesterday. The person that posted it must have sent it to a bunch of people by mistake.

Tracy, Glad the twisting is getting better for you. The stretching and yoga are very important. I tend to want to just skip this portion, but this week of recovery has again shown me that my body really needs it. I agree with you on the protien also. I do tend to eat more carbs if I don't get enough protien. Since I have been making sure that I'm getting 40-40-20, I have not been as hungry. And of course less hungry means I don't head for the carbs. :D Taxi service went well this weekend. But all the weekend activity sure did a number on DD. She has been going to bed way earlier that she usually does. But this morning got up all on her own.

Debra, Hope you have a great time at Chapel Hill. Had to LOL about the workouts yesterday. DD's next meet is on Saturday morning. It is a conference meet. Next weekend is sectionals, and then if they make it the following weekend is the state meet. Youngest DD has her recital in May. Right now they are practicing moves that they will probably do in their dance. Yesterday she tried on her dress from the last recital. She must have gown taller, because she hasn't lost weight but the dress was too big in the waist. The kid is constantly eating.

Amy, I can believe that you slept all day. Have a great workout. And again that omelet sounds good, and I have to get myself some spinach. :D

Carol, Have fun with GS Legs. You are smart to wait on doing this workout until later. I wouldn't want to chance puking either. Good for your DH on getting up early. It is always nice to be home earlier too.

Jeanette, Yep the resignation was a good thing. That was one that DH didn't want to have to go through. The other person that he needs to talk to will have to happen pretty quick. I told DH that he needs to talk to this guy in a public setting. But I wonder if it should be over a meal. That would draw the conversation out too much. Maybe just a drink at a bar, that way it can be short and quick. Glad you GS is doing ok with his injury. He is young enough that it will probably not be a big deal for him.

Sandra, My digestive system can't handle soy so I don't use it too much. I use whey protien, much more gentle on my stomach. :D Sounds like you know what may help. Try is and see how it goes. Chemical counting is done. Yipee! Just back to the same things I usually do at work.

Wendy, Oh my it sure does sound like you had a stressful day. Hope you have a much better day today. Have to say that I really like the BBC's. I have only used them for a week long type thing. I want to try a 4 week rotation. We shall see.

TG, When you can't lift your arms you know you worked them good. You must cover a lot of ground when you walk for that amount of time. Are you going at a fast pace?

Hi all,

It's DS GF birthday tomorrow and I came home and made a cake and then left it in the oven too long (I was working out:)), so needless to say, it is now in the trash. Oh well, I guess we'll just go and buy one.

Today was MIS legs only then PP upper only, plus 140 walking lunges with 12lb db. I was actually still a little fatigued from DM on Monday, so that was a nice workout. No yoga today. I struggled mentally to get through what I did.
