Evening ladies,
I'm sitting on the couch with DH watching Independence Day right now. The time is 9:16 p.m., but considering I got up at 4:00 a.m. EST at Debra's, I think I've been up for 20 hours now. Just a teensy nap after I got home is all I've had, couldn't sleep on the plane. DH and the pups were very happy to see me. While I was gone, DH has been busy doing a little house cleaning of his "nest" area. I'm so surprised he threw away all of his catalogs, you know the Cabela's, Northern Tool, Sears Craftsman. He had a ton of them piled in a corner. They are gone now. The carpet cleaning guy is coming tomorrow while DH is here so I had to pull out the furniture and vacuum behind it as it hasn't been done since he was last here right before Thanksgiving. Does that give you an idea of how meticulous I am about my cleaning?
I did a bike ride this afternoon, think it was about 20 miles. I forgot to look at my cyclometer when I finished. Felt good to be out, but it was a little on the cool side. Think we have one more day of iffy weather, then they are predicting 60's and 70's!! Woohoo! Another woohoo is that I am now doing the Olympic/International distance instead of the 1/2 Ironman distance for the relay in May. That is a BIG relief as there was no way I was going to be adequately prepared with my hill climbing. The Olympic distance is the same as what I did last year - 25 hilly miles, but very doable. Should be fun again. Just don't want any drama before it, as in what happened with Tillie's eye 2 days before.
Okay, on to personals. BTW, Debra's Meez IS her!!! She's definitely a head banger crazy lady! I thought her Meez was some kind of wannabe personality but it really IS her!!!
Debra, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the life changing event we just experienced. I will never forget it. You are a special lady and you made all of us feel that way too. I'm already missing Julia, Polly and Chelsea (the tick). I downloaded my camera pictures and showed them to DH. He was chuckling at Polly. Hoping for good weather for the kite flying tomorrow. Hope you can get plenty of naps in and make up for the time you were being Hostess of the Year. The only thing that would have been better was if ALL of our group could have attended. No, we didn't have perfect weather, but it really didn't matter as we filled every moment with what I wanted to do anyway -- getting to know and having fun with my online buds. Glad the presentation went well. Did you give away all of the candy? No fair giving the bast*** boy some X-Lax before his presentation. Must play fair, okay? LOL!
Tracy, how is your FIL doing? I hope things start looking up. We sure missed meeting you. I was disappointed to say the least, but totally understand. Why do you want a part time job? Of course, that is the grasshopper in me wondering why someone would want to work more hours. Not sure what my rotation will be, but it will include legs 2X a week I think. I'll see how it goes and as the bike event gets closer, I'll taper off.
Traci, how perfectly SWEET of Wendell to want to spend a few tracks...er moments with you this morning. I definitely have a visual now (kind of) LOL!!! GS Legs? I'm thinking maybe that one tomorrow too. We'll see. Your joke was a hoot. So right, especially losing 15 days. So glad you could get the required training in that is sooooo necessary for you to keep your certification. You learned a few things, didn't you? We learned a few things about you too ;-)
Patricia, so glad you are here with us. Yep, this is a great group of ladies. So you have a DS? I think I missed what kind of work you do besides taking care of your family (which is huge). I too love stepping and need to vary my cardio. I'm not a big KB fan. A little goes a long way with me. Looking forward to getting to know more about you. I think Sandra cut to the chase and asked a bunch of questions. I'll have to go back and see how you answered. All I can remember is she asked about your libido. Why would that stick in my mind? We were cracking up at Debra's when we read that. That's our Sandra! Good idea on Michael McConnoughy (sp?). You have good taste. I like some older actors, but can't picture them nude. EWWWW as Traci would say. Scarey.
Wendy, isn't the arrivals where poor Skipper should have picked you up? I'm confused too. Glad Baby got back in the car. I freak out when Tillie gets out and there are cars around. I sound like a crazy lady. Thank you so much for the foot care products. Looks like a pampering session is in store for me soon. Maybe this weekend when the weather gets warmer and my feet are needing some attention from pedaling in my biking shoes. So you baked some pies already? I'm going to bake that one soon. It sounds delish!!! I'm thinking it would be nice to take over to my Dad this Friday as I missed his birthday on Sunday. He'd absolutely love it. Oh, I love how I get ideas while I'm talking to y'all. I'll have a beer! Glad you caught up on the sleeping. I'm feeling okay, but maybe I'll get sluggish and crash at work tomorrow. I know exactly what you mean about Jari Love. She seems so "scripted" and restrained. However, I did get some good results after P90X doing her workouts and Slim Series. LOL, I just caught your STD. You are soooo bad. No welcome back dinner from the Cap'n. He had not lifted a paintbrush all morning. Finally did. I go outside and the neighbor boy is helping him. A Tom Sawyer moment for sure. Oh well, at least there is some progress. He'll be moving furniture tomorrow while the carpet cleaning guy does his thing. Now he'll see how the other side lives. Love it. Is it shush (as in hush), or shush (as in push)?
Laurie, so happy to get to finally meet you!!! Loved, loved, loved the DVD you showed us. And who'd have thought you and Debra could put down 8 bottles of wine in one evening? My DH was very happy that Karl Edwards one with his Ford. He's got something against Chevy's for some reason. I think Karl Edwards rides mtn. bike too, if I remember right. Good job on the 1 1/2# down. I'm staying away from any scale as I think I ate cheesecake each day I was at Debra. Who brought that over there anyway? I'm in Cheesecake withdrawals right now. It's not pretty LOL! Your DD is probably taller than I am. Sad. I always wished I was taller.
Sandra, I looked on the American Airlines map when I was on the plane. I saw that Edmonton is pretty darned close to where I live. Hooray! Oh yes, Debra has Amy's ASCII so I decided to work on some of it. I did the preview moves okay, but the actual workout is going to need some concentration and lots of rewinding. I tried for a little while, then switched to 4DS HIS. I'll definitely order it. I also got my new jersey. It's not as colorful as the newer sunflower one that I bought last year but I like it anyway. It's sleeveless so I have to wait until our temps are at least out of the 50's. Seems like everyone is doing GS Legs. Will see how I feel tomorrow. No thanks on the nude yoga. I'm having flashbacks to the movie "Sideways". You have no idea how embarrassing it was to watch that movie with my parents. They had purchased it at an auction, mostly because a lot of the scenery was purchased around their home town. Definitely NOT their kind of movie. After a while, all I could do was just laugh.
Well, the aliens have been destroyed and it's almost 10:30 p.m.
Will talk to you lovelies tomorrow,
Jeanette
