X Grads & Nancy ----> Lucky Friday, 7.13

Hey girls! :D Happy Friday the 13th!

Laura :: I'll bet you get lucky on those nickel slots today!! :D

Angie :: I’ve been checking out the blog pics and comments, too…When I saw LIS billed as a “challenging, fun low impact step routine,” I sort of it banked on it having fancy footwork, which means I won’t be doing it. :p But I suppose that’s what a lot of folks love. I would imagine she’ll put some fresh moves into it…Laughed about the phone calls when you try to sleep in. Yep, that’s what happens to me. No one will call me -- until I try to take a nap…I like all those smells you listed, too. Pipes remind me of my Opa. Chimney smoke is nice, too…I’ve always wondered, too, about the folks on these boards (there are quite a few) who manage to workout during lunch. How do they do it? It’s impressive to me. I know it wouldn’t have been possible in my old office.

Diana :: awesome about the noticeable changes!! Your workouts have sounded especially intense lately…I am at the same point as you w/ the scale…I understand weight can be misleading, but I know it needs to come down *some* from what it is…Oh yes, I am a disorganized person. I have to fight to stay on top of things. All that color-coding stuff, as corny as it sounds, does actually help.

Wendy :: Whenever I let yoga slip for awhile and then I do it, I always think to myself Why am I neglecting this? I definitely feel better when yoga is a regular part of my routine…it is working out well for me to do it on my rest days and as an add-on when possible…For now, I’m mostly sticking to gentle, flexibility-oriented yoga rather than power yoga.

I’ve got DOMS deep in the glute from yesterday, so Leaner Legs and the run this morning should make it hurt so good!!! }( Oh yeah!!

Have a great day, ladies! BBL...

Good Morning X Grads!:)

I have to work this morning and then it's home for lunch and a quick nap for Joey and then I am headed north to drop him off at my SIL's for the weekend. We will be joining him tomorrow evening but tonight he is hangin' w/them solo at THEIR request!:) On Sunday I will not be home as we are spending saturday night and all of Sunday up north so we will not be home until Sunday evening. Considering that and the fact that DH and I have no real plans for our child-free evening tonight since I have to be up EARLY for my race tmrw morning I will be doing my work out late this afternoon once I get home from dropping Joey off. :) I was leaning towards resting today but I rememebered we are not going to be around and had to nixx that idea. Oh well!

Cathy: I know what you mean. I get lazy, unmotivated, too busy to fit in yoga, blah blah blah but when I finally get back to it I always kick myself for letting it go. When will we ever learn? :p I only did a half hour last night and it was great. Part of my problem is that I don't want to do yoga right after another work out because I don't want to be sweaty when I start. I don't know why but it would bother me. Am I wierd? LOL So I always look to do it separate and apart from any other exercise. That definately can make it harder to fit in.

Good Morning Ladies,

My legs are fried from bootcamp last night. I have shoulders and biceps on tap for lunch today. My bootcamp instructor asked all to come to her body step class tonight, that will be my cardio for today.

I am in an offsite training class next mon-wed so I'm trying to figure out how to get my weight workouts in. If I do my Mon & Tues workouts on Sat and Sun I think I'll be fine. The bad part is for Legs, I really need to go the rec ctr which is by my work and not my house.

I thought one you asked for the rotation I'm following, can't remember who though. If you want to PM me with your email, I'll send it to you. It is one I got from Ms. fit when I was working with her.

Cathy-good job frying those legs! Which rotation are you following? I did freestyle training and it just got to be so time consuming.

Wendy-I hear yah about trying to do a second w/o being sweaty from the first workout. This is why I always do weights first then cardio.

Laura-good luck on those slots!!!

Nancy-Are you ever coming back to us???? Hope you're having a wonderful time.

Angie-good morning!

Happy Friday the 13th!!!

Good morning all

I finally got to sleep in and not get woke up by the phone!:) I'm still grumpy though and have no idea why. It kinda feels like PMS but it's not supposed to be yet. Dontcha just hate when that happens? I should be in a good mood b/c today was weigh in day and since the last couple of days my appetite has been ravenous, I figured the scale was going to deliver some bad news...but...surprisingly I was down 2 pounds. This, after I took in 2500 calories yesterday. A lot of it was healthy calories, but sheesh. I have no idea how the heck that happened....maybe the scale knew I was in a bad mood and it was in fear of it's life???}( LOL! So, I'm thinking, maybe less is more as far as exercise goes? I haven't been doing add on's for the abs since following Cathe's rotation b/c she adds them in and it is not as much as I normally would. Who knows, maybe it's just a fluke.

Cathy - So you don't like fancy footwork? I love it but I hate to learn it. I'm impatient when it comes to my w/o and I don't want to spend too much time learning the steps, but I want to have fun too. To me, Allstep, RS, and SB are the most fun and they are probably the most complicated ones Cathe has. I'm sure I muttered many bad words when learning them though.
If you keep doing all those leg exercises, you'll be able to bounce a quarter off your butt.:7 How much more time do you have on this rotation?

Wendy - Enjoy your time alone with DH - maybe an add on with him?? :p Have fun and good luck with your race tomorrow. Did you decide which shoes you were gonna take?
Have you ever done yoga and then your cardio?
Have a great time with your family over the weekend. We will miss you. :(

Diana - Body step class? You'll have to dish about that and let us know how it stacks up against Cathe.
You are so lucky to have facilities like that at work. I'm sooooo jealous! So, do most people that work there take advantage of the facilities? It sounds absolutley wonderful!
I forgot if was Friday the 13th. Glad I'm not superstitious. Actually the way I feel today, if Jason walked thru my door I think it would be him that would be scared!!}(

Nancy - Earth calling Nancy.......come in Nancy......

I read a post on the main forum the other day regarding w/o on deepdiscount.com and so I thought I'd go over there and check it out. The prices look great! I've always wanted to try some of the workouts that others rave about on the main forum but I didn't want to waste my money. I found Jari Love (get ripped) $8.25, Amy Bento (Adv. step challenge) $10.98, Christi Taylor (Stepsational) $10.98. There's lots more too, but those are the ones I was considering and there is free shipping. They are cheaper than ebay and brand new to boot. Just curious if any of you have done these w/o and what do you think. After taking the plunge with Tonys new w/o and pre-ordering Cathe's, I'm not sure I will order just yet. But, it's a great site to shop.

BBL girls:)

Hi Ladies,

I'm happy to report that heavy shoulders and biceps is complete. The rotation calls for 4 sets of 12 reps this week. Well I decided to up my bicep curl wt and used a 45lb barbell. I did my 4 sets, but only managed 8 reps for the first set and 6 for the next 3 sets. Biceps are my weakest muscle and probably least favorite to work. My shoulders are also fried, but I love shoulder work.

I haven't taken a group step class since my kids were little, before Jerod was even born. This should be interesting. It sounds like the choreography is the same per song. So no matter what order you hear the music in, the steps for each song remain the same. Then every 3 months you get new music and steps to learn. Laura, Wendy, do you guys know anything about this. It's called bodystep. I fill you all in after my class tonight. I just found a website about it:
http://www.lesmills.com/global/en/members/bodystep/about-bodystep.aspx

Angie-Many of the employees take advantage of all the fitness overings. We do have our share of overweight (I'm one of them) and unhealthy individuals.

I'll report back later.

Diana
