X Factor Tuesday...just a wee bit closer to friday!

Hi Girls.

Oh great thanks for spending my money for me, Ang ! LOL

I am sore this morning. Not terribly (yet) but I can definately feel my muscles right now. :)

Today is cardio. The rotation calls for Step Blast. Not sure what I'll do. I still have to take 2 classes this week at the gym. The offer Group Groove this afternoon which is dancing, Yoga tonight and centergy in the morning. I am definately taking Centergy and need to decide between Groove and Yoga for today. I am considering Groove even though I really like the Yoga because Centergy is mostly yoga. That being said I'm not sure if I'll just leave my work out at Groove (for cardio) or add something on because I, ofcourse, do not feel Groove intense enough by itself. :p

Time to refill the coffee cup!

BBL!

Good Morning Ladies,

Just a quick post-I'm heading down for ME this morning and will hit the rec ctr for some cardio at lunch.

Last night was the first night of the Holiday Meltdown class. The class has 12 women in it and all we got to last night were our stats. The instructor weighed us on an electric impedence scale which provides BF% and other info. We also did a 3 minute step test, max pushups and situps for 1 minute. Thursday will be our first real class.

Wendy-have you seen CHALEAN'S EXTREME on the beachbody website? I've never done any of her workouts but this one looks good to me. What do you think?

Good morning ladies,

owwww, the DOMS are definitely settling in! my hammies and back are feeling it this morning...ya-hooooo!!!

wendy- i hope you are able to find a good sub for today's workout. no doubt you will!

angie- i am interested in chalene's new one's also!

laura- oh you are mean with your weekly challenge...haha. it's the hardest thing for me to cut out but the most necessary.

jacque- thanks for the well wishes. yep, backto the original reason we started this thread, alwyn!!

today i did a workout i rented from netflix- step/boxing by kelly coffey meyers. i really enjoyed this workout. my only complaint was it was 30 mins. she has some weighted work on the dvd to make the workout almost an hour but i didn't want that. if this step/kb was an hr i would definitely purchase that dvd. after the 30 min workout i jumped on the tm and did run/walk incline intervals to make my workout an hour.

i feel good, again still not totally up to par but getting there:D

alrighty, got get some work done. TTYL!

Good morning fellow X'ers !

LOL at "wee bit closer to friday!". :p

Did swap CCPP for Step Blast and had a blast ! he he he. I was a bit late getting started and have to leave work early today so only did the first two challenges for a 35 min workout, 3.5 miles. Was tired after only that much ! May have needed to take a nap if I had completed the entire set of challenges?

Off to hit the shower and will BB to catch up on everyone.

Enjoy the morning.

Morning Ladies!

We are short handed today!! meetings .. I am up front .. but no PIA to deal with .. :D .. SHE is in the meeting today!!! and tommorrow she has an employee appreciation day to go to .. NO PIA .. and the next day I have the employee apprciation day to go to .. NO PIA .. WOOOO HOOOO life is good!! ;)

Well I pushed thru circuit .. did step - UB - LB - and core .. I was sweating out all the CABS from the weekend .. and today reporting DOMS in the shoulders - back and core!!!:D and the crick is better!!

It was FREEZING this morning .. 37 degrees .. BBBRRRRRR ... supposed to get down to 32 tonight .. .. YIKES!!! Seeing as to how I am freezing I am skipping lunch workout .. have my hardest class tonight .. 4 step - plank - pushup- plyo - core torture .. :) ...

Ok it is taking me forever to write this better run .. I will BBL for personals!! Until then .. have a great day!!!:)

Good afternoon, ladies!

Yikes, I can't believe it's afternoon, actually! Where has this day gone? I had an eye doctor's appointment this morning and didn't get in to work until 10, so it's flying. And yes, I need some glasses

This morning was a cardio morning, so I did the all step premix on Cardio Fusion. It was a great workout and a lot of fun. I'm lovin' these dvds lately.

Life has been insanely busy lately and I haven't had much time to be checking in lately, but I did go back and scan the weekend threads...so here's my attempt at catching up ;)

The pup is doing GREAT! OMG, I love her so much. This is supposed to be a temporary situation until the dEXh gets better living arrangements, but I've already decided that there's no way in he** he's ever getting her back. She's my baby now and he's going to have to run me over to get to her. While the leash training isn't exactly coming along as well as I'd like it to, it's only because I've been so short on time these past few days that when I take her out for a walk (or rather, when she takes me out for a walk), the kids are with me, and it all adds up to too many distractions for her. I haven't been able to spend any time in the yard with her alone yet, but I will.

Wendy, like we need any more excuses to spend money on fitness stuff, right? (Thanks, Ang!) But I read the amazon blurb on that book and I'll definitely be picking that one up! I haven't read his other one, because I figure it's probably along the same lines as what Alwyn et al. have put out, but this new one looks like it touches on some things I'm interested in. How's Joey feeling these days? Is he over his bronchitis?

Diana, it sounds like the instructor is very serious about the holiday meltdown! That's great! I bet this class will be a butt kicker.

Dee Dee, glad to hear you're on the rebound from that nasy cold. I hate this time of year when the kids are back in school and bring home every germ that's floating around. It seems to be starting early this year. I've heard about so many people being sick with terrible colds.

Jacque, are you doing the same rotation as Wendy? I work in a small city, right downtown, so there are plenty of places to walk. (Some more desireable than others ). I found myself a nice, clean, rif-raf free 2.5 mile route that is just enough to clear the head and get the heart pumping a bit. I hate sitting at my desk for 8 hours straight. It's enough to make me want to tear my hair out! It's raining today so I have to skip it .

Laura, your office sounds like mine yesterday! We have ten people in this office, some are part-time, and yesterday morning there were only four of us here, and by the afternoon we were down to two! Me and the boss! Fortunately, the phones weren't quite as crazy as they tend to be on a Monday. Today we're a little better staffed, but still have two full-timers out sick and one full-timer on vacation. Enjoy torturing your class tonight ;)

Hi to Shirl!

I have tickets to a concert tonight...actually, I bought them for BF, because this is his kind of music (old :p)...but I'll be seeing George Winston play his piano at this new-ish theater here in the city. I'm actually looking forward to it, because though it's nothing I would have ever listened to on my own (I'm waaayyy hipper than that!;)), his music is absolutely beautiful.

Lunch is almost over, gotta get back to work ~

TTYL,

Jen

P.S. Ang, yay for the bells!! You are going to LOVE them. I'm in search of some new dvds and am thinkin' about Lauren Brooks and AOS Providence. Will likely go with Providence first, and that's got nothing to do with the fact that Anthony is easy on the eyes :)

Hey there Ladies.

Ran 2 miles at a 10 min pace after work today and I'll be taking the Groove class at the gym later on this afternoon. :)

The weather outside is N~A~S~T~Y!!!! I sooo don't wanna go back out in it now that I'm all clean, dry and warm but I have to pick up DS from school in a bit or the teachers might get a wee bit mad at me. ;) It's also gonna stink dragging DS back out in the weather for the class later but there's nothing I can do. DH won't be home yet and I GOTTA get 2 more classes in.

Jen: Glad you are lovin' the dog. Hope the X doesn't put up a fuss about your not wanting to give him back.

Laura: Happy no PIA week!!!! LOL Sorry about the cold. We are getting rain, wind and cold here right now so you are definately not alone in the lousy weather dept. Enjoy your class tonight.

Jacque: I expect you to finish CCPP when you get home tonight, missy!:p

Sunny: Glad you are slowly getting back to normal. Too bad that work out you tried wasn't long enough. Bummer, huh?

Diana: I am personally not interested in Chalean Extreme but that doesn't mean that you won't be. I have a couple of the free sneak preview DVD's BB was/is sending out to customers when they order something. Would you like me to pop one in the mail to ya? I don't need it back. Just PM me your addy if you want it. :)

Ang: Perhaps you should call Tom and ask if he needs a salesperson on his staff. The way I see it, you'll make a good buck!;) LOL

All caught up so off I go.

BBL!

Is it FRIDAY yet??? lol

Ok .. no w/o at lunch .. but gearing up for tonight's torture class!

Wendy - I am complaining about my weather .. it is cold .. but beautiful sunshine .. kinda windy though .. but you got it worse girl .. I will take my cold temps and sunshine.. thank you very much!! LOL

Di - meltdown class sounds like a winner .. so how were your test results?? I know you aced the #'s!!! cant wait to hear what this instructor has in store for ya! I did the BMI on my class a couple of times .. and it tickes some of the students off .. b/c usually the skinny ones dont get good results and they get ticked and the larger students get REALLY good results ..good lesson .. .but they dont get it ...lol!! Muscle is our friend!!!

DeeDee - glad you are on the upswing .. dont overdo as to not have a set back!! I always hated that when you feel like you need to do more but then your brain kicks in and says .. whoa .. dont want a relapse!!!

Jen .. I am soooooo happy about the dog!!! GREAT .. ya .. the EX is gonna have to step aside .. she is yours now!! ;) She sounds so loving and so glad she has touched your heart!! .. and you were worried .. HA!!! Yeah .. my workplace .. I call it the "asylum" .. the PIA works to get out of work .. she is a piece of work for sure .. but I am lucky I have a GREAT boss!!:) but he is a softy sometimes!! If I were her boss I would light a fire under her arse .. lol!!!

Ang .. When we start getting crappy weather you usually have worse weather .. so what's it doing there??? I would love some pics of Maggie when you get a chance .. Toots just started bleeding last night .. yes first day of her heat .. .. first day of three weeks of insanity... by the weekend Buster will be INSANE and we will be sleep deprived ... we have the added challenge of the male stray .. and Buster is ALREADY is looking for an excuse to kick his butt .. the other day he saw him loving up on me and clobbered him .. I can't even get around the poor thing in front of Buster ... the dog is worse than a jealous man!!! LOL

Jacque .. doncha just love CCPP .. that is my ALL TIME favorite w/o .. but I can't quit on him .. that is one that makes me feel ssoooooooo guilty if I want to quit early .. lol!! Just cant do it .. LOL~

Shirl .. hope your day is going well!!

OK .. back to the grind .. SIL is coming to class tonight .. and she promises to be good and not do the planks or pushups .. uummmmm .. we will see!!!

Well glad to see everyone has been around and working out ! Sounds as if some may be slowing down a bit from the likes of this last month. (regarding work, not workouts !)

Wendy - I finally got to a 10 min pace with my CCPP this AM. Ran the sprints at 8.5 and that is pretty quick for me. So even though I shortened the workout timewise, it kept me pretty much in the orange zone most of the workout.

And, unfortunately, Sean won't be seeing me tonite as I have a Sharks game to attend and DS, DIL and GS will be there too! :D Happy you say? Yes I am ! My little guy just started walking this week. He's 15 months old today and had to laugh cuz' when I was chatting with DS on the phone last night GS spilled Daddy's beer. Finally, I say to myself, what goes around comes around ! Ha ! GS has been sooooo very easy to care for - now it all comes out. ;)

So what is Groove class anyway?

Diana - you did Muscle Endurance today? Did that last week and hadn't for a while - loved it. Will be waiting to hear how your Meltdown class goes, both the workouts and the results !

Dee Dee - wonderful DOMS for you huh? :p Does netflix have many fitness DVD's?

Laura - Hope your short handed day is almost over and tomorrow is better. That 4 step class sounds quite fun in a tortureous way ! Hope it got warm enough to take the chill off.

Jen - sad to hear it is raining for your lunch time, but then again  we got to have you here ! Good trade off for us ! We are supposed to get rain this weekend. Had a gorgeous weekend this past Sat/Sun but I was indoors painting. Now with the rain, maybe some closet cleaning? Yep, for some reason I almost feel like I am "nesting". Perhaps is the due to the arrival of my second grandchild, but that won't be until late Spring. So what does that mean? That means I will have a super clean, uncluttered, freshly painted and organized house if I keep this up! :p

So happy you are enjoying your new little girl. We are down to one dog and two birds after losing two birds, a dog and a cat over the past few years. And my poor "little girl" just turned 12. I miss having a playful pup, but at least we babysit for the pup next door. Enjoy her and hope you have time to work with her leash training a bit more soon. It makes such a difference in their behavior when they are trained.

Yep, so far (;)), Wendy and I ended up doing the same Sept 08 Leg Rotation by Fitness Freak. She decided to do it while I was off last week so we have ended up on the same schedule. :p Though I don't really have anywhere nice to get away to, we do have stairs so I make numerous trips for hot water, bathroom breaks (from the hot water) :D, dropping off paperwork, etc. I need to move around lots too or my back gets sore. Enjoy George tonight !

Angie - another book, huh? Well after Jen's input, guess I'll check it out. Anything for more ideas on the best ways to keep heading in the right direction. Hope your day is going well.

Hey Shirl ! Hope we see you again soon and you are doing well.

Hey Ladies.

So now that Groove class is in the bag I have one more I have to take. I plan on taking Centergy in the morning AFTER I attack Butts and Guts as my rotation calls for. Jacque, you ready for B&G!?

Laura: Glad you got to see the pretty sun today. I forgot what it looks like. :(

Jacque: Hope you enjoy the game tonight. Funny about DGS spilling his father's beer! Are you sure his mom didn't put him up to it? ;) 8.5 on sprints!? Wowee I'd say that's FAST! I used to be able to sprint at 7.5 but never really was able to get beyond that and then my issues started on the TM before my last half. I am doing much better but haven't fully recovered yet. Getting to 7.0 can be a struggle at times now though. :( I know I am capable of running faster cause I can do it on land according to my garmin so I'm not sure what gives on the TM. Groove class is a cardio class my gym offers. It's all mini choreographed dance routines. They do hip-hop, latin, urban, dance, etc. It's fun. I am a terrible dancer but I sure have fun tryin'!:p

Nighty Night Peeps!:)

Hey all

So I got up this morning and agreed to join my mom to go to a haunted house. She goes to Curves with a lady who's son runs this house during the Halloween season and dad backed out on her b/c he had a last minute appt. and I didn't want her to have to go alone. It was pretty cool. I'm not much for being scared, but he just showed us around the house to let us see how the pranks worked. Quite a show, but not very scarey during the day.....thank goodness! I can see how it would be spooky as heck at night.

After I got home I did PlyoX. I was thinking of subbing it out, but couldn't decide on anything so I just did it.

Wendy - You have StepBlast??
Glad to help spend the bucks. I'm actually pretty stoked about the book b/c even though I like BFFM, I think it's more intricate than I am. I want something a bit more in my league and more do-able. I learned a lot with BFFM, but I don't think it's a system that I will ever adhere to. Trying to get my macros right every day and time my eating is a bit much.
So how did class go?

Di - So the meltdown class starts eh? Of the 12 people starting, how many do you think will stick with it?

DeeDee - I've never done a Kelly Cofee Meyer workout. Hmmmmm
Glad you're feeling back to normal.

Jacque - I am so spent after doing the CCPP w/o. I think the first challenge is the worst for sure. Although, I do tend to push it to level 4's instead of the 3's on that one too.
Didya end up getting that painting done? Wow! You really are nesting aren't you? Feel free to come and nest at my house. LOL!
Enjoy your game tonight!!

Laura - Awwww - missin' PIA huh? *lol*
We had snow flurries today. Be glad to send some your way! The leaves are brown, the ground is wet and muddy, and now we have snow flurries. Oh joy!
Sounds like you are going to have a workout just in keeping those dogs apart. Yikes! So what would ya do if she got bred??
I have an appt. in a couple of weeks to take Maggie in for her spay surgery. I definitely don't want to deal with that!
Have fun at you a$$ kickin class tonight.:D

Jen - So glad the new puppy is fitting in just fine. Aren't they so fun?
What kind of office work do you do?
Sorry bout spending your money.;) I just figure I'd return the favor. The KB's I hear are very pricey.
So we should get STS, then get the Venuto book the first part of January. Hopefully it will be an awesome combo.

Hey Shirl - hope all if going well with you.

Gotta go and help DS study for a Science test. I'm sure this will be fun.
