Hi Girls.

I'm tired. DH and I went out last night to the country bar for some drinks and dancing. It's always a really good time and last night was no exception. I had 5 drinks though. EEK! Oh well, no hang over...just tired. ;) I'm supposed to do my long run today but I'm waiting to see if this rain clears out first. I may head over to the gym for a shorter distance on the TM and save my long run for wednesday. Time will tell.

I did HSTA upper body only cardio and cardio only premixes back to back lst night before going out. I forgot to do abs! DOH! It was a great work out. Love that one. I'm not sore from it but my u/b is definately a bit stiff.

BBIAB!

Hello ladies,

yesterday was a rest day. too much little time and too many things to do. oldest dh had a soccer game that went really well.

jacque- i will give updates of rcr. i start tomorrow.

wendy- glad you had a fun night out.

thanks to everyone who sent out the sunshine!! we finally have some today. it's has rained almost all of last week.

today i am going to try amy b's rumble workout.

ttyl...:)

Whoa ! Good late morning for me ! I slept until 10 ! Typically only do that when I'm sick, but guess this ol' lady who went out two nights in a row was a wee bit tired !

Today was a planned rest day so guess it fit in well. Was thinking of Stretch X and we will see, possibly later this afternoon. Want to go to a local classic car show soon and it's nearly 11 AM so need to get a movin'.

Wendy - think I just about matched you drink wise ! Course over the length of a 6 or 7 hour evening, that's not too bad I guess. Just feel like I need to drink a gallon of water to balance it all out ! Was too funny watching DH and his classmates try to figure out who was who last night at the 30 yr HS reunion. Good times ! Did ya do some country line dancing while you were out last night? Hope the rain disappears for you soon ! How's the knee feeling?

Dee Dee - Will love to hear how your workouts go. Good to hear soccer went well, (can I play dumb and ask about oldest DH, as in "Dear Hubby" - how many DH's do you have?) Glad to hear you got some sun happening for you. I don't like being without it for too long at once. When we have long bouts of cloudiness and rain I feel the need to find some sun. It really does affect my mood.

Angie, Laura, Shirl, Diana - hope you all are having a great weekend too !

BBL to check on everyone's weekend.

jacque, LMAO---- i meant ds. only have one dh, couldn't possibly handle any more than that. hope you get out to the car show!

Hello Xers

I was up early today and after a couple of cups o' joe found some ambition to get some of my to-do list tackled.:) Now I'm parkin' it on the couch and enjoying the nascar race. When DH gets home from fishing, maybe I'll have a CAB or two.;) Today is rest day. Ahhhhhh! Love my Sundays!! I should probably make up yogaX that I missed last week.....NAH!:p

Wendy - Glad you had fun groovin' last night.:D CABs always seem to help me with that since I am NOT a good dancer at all!
Did you end up at the gym today?

Dee Dee - Can't wait to see how RCR goes for you. I did a search and only found one thread about it. It sounds intriguing. The action hero w/o looks neat too. I wrote it down and may have to sub that one in sometime this week if possible.

Jacque - Weekends are for catchin up on sleep. I sure look forward to my sleep in time on the w/e. But it never seems to fail that either DH forgets to turn off the alarm, or someone calls super early, or the dog barks, etc. Does that happen to you to?
Have fun at the car show today. Sounds like a good time.:)
What about that flaxseed question?? I'd love to hear your thoughts on that.

Vroom Vroom......the race is on.

Dee Dee - I did figure you meant a DD or DS but just had to question it, ya know? LOL ! ! !

Angie - sorry 'bout not answering you. I was giggling while at the store today 'cuz I saw some flaxseed and what do you think came to my mind?

That I forgot to answer you about that !

Fat Flush Plan is a book by Anne Gittleman (sp? - didn't want to run to the other room to double check but will correct later if need be). It is about "flushing" the toxins from your body by eating very very clean for a couple weeks, then adding things back in slowly. The way she has it set up it actually helps you see if you are allergic to gluten or dairy also. Similar idea as South Beach, but in this one she goes through many healthy for you foods: grains, fats (such as flax oil and flax seed), best fruits, etc. And she touches on nutrients and supplements that will help in different areas.

So she begins with a "cranberry cocktail" which is only a blend of 100%cranberry juice, water and some psyliium or flax seed to "jump start" your morning and then also at the end of the day to aid you during the night.

That being said, I still always start my day with cran/water and flax seed since they both have some very good nutritional value. I find it also helps me with any hunger pains while exercising since I usually get started as soon as I get up. The juice and flax have some decent cals and nutritional value so it is an "appetizer" to breakfast which I actually just add together with my protein powder that I have right after I exercise. Gets me about 300 cals for the AM meal and then I have a protein and fruit/veggie "snack" mid morning to keep me going until lunch.

HTH a bit. I really did enjoy the informational value of the book and have adjusted my eating habits to being similar to the 3rd and last phase (maintenance) in her book. Whenever I have been really really "unclean" for too long of a time, I will plan my meals close to the 1st phase to get my body back in line a bit. I will usually drop a lb or two and it just gives me much more energy and helps me sleep better too ! I don't follow anything to a "T" and don't buy organic, but buy fresh probably 95% of the time since we have so much available here in CA.

If you don't feel like ordering the book, I bet you could just google flax seed nutrition and get some good info. I like it for the fiber and omegas it provides. And flax oil is quite tasty if you like nutty flavors. Just can't use the oil for cooking or it can taste rancid.

So DH is watching the Nascar race today and decided we have spent too much $$$ this past week to hit the car show. Now, mind you, there is no entrance fee, it is just down the middle of the street, but whenever he goes to events like that he just has to drink the beer and eat the food. Me, well, I actually ate pasta salad before I thought we were going anyway 'cuz the food is not real "clean" and then I always take a quart of water anyway. No $$$ spending necessary on my end. Oh well, I too have chores to do but think I'll enjoy the nice weather a bit first and read out in the back for a couple of hours. Then I'll tackle the chores when DH goes out to mow lawns. :D
