Good Morning Peeps.

Oh yeah. I have some nice DOMS goin' on from DM y'day. This is the kind of DOMS I enjoy. It hurts but it's not crippling. Gotta love the pain!;)

So now that Jacque went and screwed it up for me by posting after me last night :p I figured I'll start this morning's thread instead. I definately won't be around tonight anyway. I won't be around until Sunday I fear. DH and I are heading into PA this weekend. I bought him an opportunity to drive a stock car at the Pocono raceway and it happens tomorrow so we are making a weekend of it. DS is being dropped at MIL's one last time for a while since we opted not to bring him. It'll be a long day at the racetrack and DS will not enjoy it.

So anyway, as I mentioned last night, I'll be going for a run this morning. The length of it will be determined by my knees and the clock so we'll see what happens.

BB to check in before I leave this afternoon!:)

Morning all!

Not a great day for me :( I skipped my workout this morning to catch a few extra zzzs. Was up late watching the Sox. It was a very exciting game! So exciting that I had major trouble sleeping after that. No worries though, because I'll get a workout in after work tonight. I just got Jari's Ripped and Chiseled and Ripped 1000 in the mail the other day, so I plan on popping one of those in tonight. It better be good, because I need the stress relief.

Just found out this morning that DExH is breaking up with his live in girlfriend, who my kids happen to adore. So of course, they're hearts are broken, which breaks mine. She owns a beautiful home in the next town over from where we live, on six acres, where they had their own rooms, plenty to land to ride their ATVs on, and pets galore. She's an animal lover, so they had three dogs (one is theirs, two are hers), guinea pigs, birds...and I can't remember what else. Not my cup o' tea, but they loved it. Now that all has to change. So that sucks, right? Wait, it gets better...he has no place to go for the next two weeks while he waits for an apartment to become available (an apartment in the same building as my BF:rolleyes:), so he's got to room with a friend during that time. I don't think I want my kids staying with him until he's in his own place. That's easy enough to work out, they'll just stay home with me. But...what to do with their dog? He can't keep it in the apartment. You guessed it! I just acquired myself a dog  I'm so stressed out about this. I like dogs, but I have this little house for me, my two kids, and my two cats, and now a dog ? But I don't have the heart to tell my kids they have to get rid of their dog, so I'm gonna suck it up for them. It's gonna be crowded. And as if my life wasn't chaotic enough! Ugh. So frustrating.

I did manage to get my lunchtime walk in yesterday. The weather held out long enough. And today is a beauty so far. I'm looking forward to getting out there in the cool air and sunshine today.

Thanks for letting me unload. I'll BBL~

Jen

Hi Ladies,

I had a busy day and didn't get a chance to post. I did Amy Bento's kickbox xtreme. I was planning on doing Imax 3 or lowmax this morning but I have a pain on the outside of my leg and am afraid of hurting it further. It didn't start hurting until last night so I'm not sure what I did to cause it. Anyway, I'll be hitting the gym for the butts & guts and class.

Wendy-Hope you enjoy your morning run! The stock car driving sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy your child free weekend with DH.

Jen-I hate when I oversleep. Hopefully the weather will hold and you can get your walk in. I hope the dog situation works itself out. I would hate to tell my kids no too. We had an incident with our dog, he bit our son on the face and eye which tore his tear duct and required surgery. Since then we have not had any other animals. DH won't allow it.

Laura-went back and read your post from y'day-Sorry about all the animals in the road, but I had a good laugh!!!

Angie-Sorry to hear about Cam's incident. I'm sure it was all in good fun and they just took it too far. Our schools have a strict no fighting policy as well. I'm sure he's learned his lesson.

Jacque-I'm a bit younger than you but have 3 sons-ages 20,18 and my baby is 12. My oldest son has twin daughters who are 9 months old and I love them so much. My 18 year old is living at home but going to college. He's not working and that is making me crazy. He worked for 2 years while in High School and now he just does odd jobs for family and friends-enough to pay for gas etc. My youngest is a straight A student and I'm very proud of him. On another note, I've been trying different w/o's & diets as my weight is always a problem. Although most folks will say I don't look overweight, the fact of the matter is I carry about 20-25lbs over what I should. I need a fair mix of high intensity cardio & weights to lose any weight.

DeeDee and Laura-what are you ladies up to today?

I feel like I'm missing someone or two. I'll bbl later to see what everyone is up to this Friday. I need to shower and head in to work!

TGIF .. YAYYAAYAYAYAYA!!!

Morning Ladies -

Had a great class last night!! I ended up doing a mish mosh of my version of Wendy's Mint Condition w/o and my Core Torture class .. it was GREAT!! DOMS report: chest, shoulders, core and a bit into the hip area!! :) .. like Wendy .. the good DOMS .. they are there but not PAINfull!! :)

Wendy ... WOW .. you got your him an opportunity to drive a stock car at the Pocono raceway .. OMG HOW EXCITING .. you gotta take pictures!!! My Nascar lovin BF would DIE if she got to do something like that!! WTG .. DH better treat you extra special!! ;) Dont do anything I wouldn't do .. LOL

Jen .. while reading your post I was waiting for the line "and guess what he has asked to stay with me until he finds an apt" .. LOL!!! I just KNEW that was what you were gonna say .. lol!! WOW .. that is a lot of adjusting for all of you .. what kind of dog is it?? Take it from someone who said she would never have dogs in the house .. it is not as bad as you would think .. I have two HUGE monsters in the house and they are no trouble at all .. I cant imagine them not being there!!! Everything happens for a reason .. you may fall in love w/the dog!! :) Will be hoping things work out for all of you!!!!

Jacque .. My version of Wendy's Mint condition w/o .. LOL.. ummmm .. where do I start?? OK .. Wendy found this w/o Mint condition .. it sounded like something I would like (hard) ... so she gave me the w/o . . I took the basic set up of the workout and tweaked it and added and subtracted from it .. LOL .. now last night it took a tone of its own and looks nothing like the original .. Here is what I did (if it makes sense) .. warm up/stretch .. followed by:
Jump Squats (30 reps) - Altn. forward lunges (30)- Sphinx Pushups (16)- Bow and Boat // Plyo Jacks (30 reps) - Altn back lunges (30)- Staggard Pushups (16 each side) - Body rolls (2 min) // Reg. Jacks (60) - weighted side lunges (16 each side) - Wide arm pushups (20) - Milt. pushups (16) - Lying Ab reverse rolls (16) // Plia' Plyos (30) - weighted low squats (8) add up and V arms overhead (10) - Pilates forward ab roll (16) // Combo plyo Jacks (20) - Low Leg glute push (30 each leg) - Plank combo (3 different poses held for one min. each) // Side stacked hip reach (16 each side) // weighted forward ab roll up and reach (20) // Seated oblique twist w/weight (16) w/legs down - (8) w/right leg up - (8) w/left leg up - (8) w/both legs up .. cool down

Anywho .. we were all covered in sweat and thoroughly DONE by the end of class!! :)

Ang ... ITA w/Jacque on your "punishment" ... you are such a great Mom!!! Once I read that there were tears shed .. and apologies written .. I knew he "got it" .. good lesson .. and I think one that will stick!!! WTG MOM!! IA I LOVE Halloween .. one of my fav holidays too .. although we dont get any trick or treaters except for my little nephew before he goes into town .. but I decorate the house .. and make all kind of treats for my nephew!!

OK .. I have been writing too long .. hello to Shirl, Di, and Dee Dee ... will BBL to see what you girl are up to ..

It is heavy legs in the gym for me today .. it is to rain so no run :(.. but the rain is bringing cooler temps :D.. we have been around 87 all week .. and tonight it is to drop into the 50s and tommorrow only be around 72 .. then Sat. night around 48 .. .. OH MY gotta break out the winter wear!!

Gotta jet .. paperwork calling my name .. Great Friday to everyone .. I will BBL!!! :)

Hey DI ..

you snuck in while I was posting .. OK . . you can't be having any pain missy!! LOL .. all of us are falling apart .. dang .. knees, hips, legs!! GEESH!! JK .. we are all tough and keep plowing thru though!! I think the lot of us have been exercising so long that we know those little pains now and then are to be expected and we know when to lay off when needed .. or just change it up till the meantime!!!

.. and your pictures .. you certainly dont look 25# heavy!! PUH-lease girl .. you look MAAAAARVALOUS!!!!!

I guess since everyone else shared what they "need" .. the only thing that works for me is a good MIX of everything .. I like changing constantly .. when I feel my body is getting used to one thing .. I will switch it up and do something else .. I think what works best for me is heavier lifting combined w/periods of lighter lifting w/high reps ... My upper body tends to be bigger than my lower body (thanks to long legs and small hips) .. so I have to work my lower body w/heavier weight to try to even me up some .. I have wider shoulders and longer arms and legs and a SHORT WAIST  .. if someone can tell me what to do about that PLEASE do .. LOL!!! The X did teach me the importance of rest days which I never did before the X .. and I feel so much stronger and renewed keeping those rest days in there!!

MY DOWNFALL: clean eating and CABS!!! not sure if that will ever change!!!

TGIF

:)Happy Friday peeps!!;)

You all won't believe this but when DH got up this morning (like a moose trotting thru a china shop) I couldn't get back to sleep. So, I thought I'd get up and knock out L&B and ARX after a cup of coffee of coarse. So, it was done by 7am. That's amazing for me! I'm just so happy not to have to worry about getting that workout in and got a lot done today b/c I had lots of other stuff to worry about. But, it all ended up to be a productive day so now I can par-ty tonight.

Wendy - IMAX3 is fun! You know you want to do those intervals!:p
DH is gonna have a riot at Pocono! I bought my DH one of those Richard Petty packages for MIS and he loved it! It's an experience he will NEVER forget. And you can do the ride along with the pro for like $100 or something.....DO IT! It's so worth the money! Maybe you'll become a nascar fan after all?
How'd that run go?

Jacque - How's the legs feelin' today?
Sounds like a great family you got there girl.;) I was a med-surg nurse for about 6 years and it was definitely an experience. I liked my job, but administration was full of idiots! It's like that in a lot of hospitals....it's a shame really. But, tell DD that if she becomes a nurse there are sooooo many possibilties. She can go into any field and even be a travel nurse if she prefers a change of scenery and would like to go to exotic places for free.:) The sky's the limit and she should have no problem finding a job or getting a good wage.
When should DS hear about the interview?
So do you still have DS21 and DD at home?
Thanks again for the kind words. I have 2 boys DS10 and DS14. They are complete opposites of each other. The oldest (Cody)is usually very polite and quiet and the baby (Cam) is very mouthy and self absorbed, although polite as well. I have a tendency to be "hot tempered" at times and feel like I'm yelling at the boys constantly.:( Ug! They can't be more than 2 feet apart, but can't seem to get along.......I don't get it. Just the way boys are I guess.
Yup, I agree.....life is the best teacher. I know I never took my parents word for anything....had to find out for myself. Hmmmmm....wonder where Cam gets it. *lol* If I remember right, I drove my parents nuts too. But, life is a much better teacher than I am. He'll find that his stubborness will work for and against him depending on the situation. He's got a good heart and knows the difference between right and wrong, so I guess the rest is up to him.
How was LM today?

Jen - I love gettin' new workouts in the mail. I got my gymboss today so maybe I'll have to start making up my own routines. I also ordered Muscle and Fitness Hers magazine yesterday. I just love the tiny fitness purchases that give warm fuzzies.
So sorry to hear about the kids.:( Any chance they will reconcile?? Maybe the dog will be a welcome addition to the family. They do require some work but once they figure out the routine, things should go smoothly. I sure hope the dog gets along with the cats.
Glad you are at least getting nice weather. It's cold here. It was 33 when I got up this morning. Brrrrrrr

Diana - Hope the leg feels better today, especially if you are going to be working them this afternoon.
Do you get some relaxation time this weekend? Any games planned?

Laura - Your posts make me smile, if not all out LMAO!;)
Thanks also for your kind words. I'm most certainly not the best mom in the world, but I've seen much worse for sure. I'm trying! *lol* I always keep hearing "wait until they're teenagers"......ummmmm - not funny!
OMG - that workout looks wicked! You soooo need to be a witch for halloween, especially whipping up a culdron of torture like that!:p
Was the new girl there? What about those guys? Did they ever come back?
How's SIL's injury?
Do you have another football party planned for this weekend?

Dee Dee- Does DH do Cathe? Well, ya know what I mean.;) I was able to talk my DH into doing supersets with me....once! LOL!
Congrats on that big BC class......ya gotta be doing something right!:D

Hi to the rest of you gals

I better go make some rice krispy treats. BF is coming over tonight for pizza and CABs.:D We're gonna plan some excursions for our cruise. I'm looking forward to tonight.

Have a great weekend!!!

Angie

ETA: 2 liters in.....one to go!

Hey Ang ..

re:Was the new girl there? What about those guys? Did they ever come back?

The new girl WAS there .. she is a trooper .. and may I add has GUNS for arms!! WOW I am impressed to say the least!! Think she will be a die-hard groupie!!! The guys ARE CHICKEN!!!! they have not showed yet!!

SIL :( sadly she has laid off the UB exercises and it has not helped .. she had an epidural done 3 weeks ago .. and I told her she HAD to lay off the upper body and give it a chance to work .. well she has but she is still running and did IMAX and she started hurting again .. I HOPE she does not have to have surgery .. but it is not looking good. She was a softball pitcher for Auburn (WAAARRRR EAGLE) . . and it is scar tissue and inflammation pinching on a nerve in her neck .. :( she is really DOWN .. REALLY!!!

My Auburn team has this weekend OFF!! thank goodness .. I could not take another loss .. we are not used to loosing .. and it is not good or fun!! I am hoping the following week they come back organized and w/a new game plan!!! We have the #1 defense in the nation .. but our offense SUCKS!!!

Tonight is "date night" .. crab claws and a movie (at home) and some extra cirricular fun ;););):D .. tommorrow night since we are not fishing we are going to have another date night .. going to go out to eat and maybe get into something fun afterward!!;):p I am sure we can find something to get into!!!!

Soooooooo - I forgot, yes, totally FORGOT, to post this AM ! Now I'm really far behind. Started reading a bit during lunch break but then, NOOOOOO, the phone calls kept coming.

Good news is the meetings I have been prepping for are next week so they will actually be a "vacation" compared to the past few weeks.

I got my LoMax in this AM - almost stopped twice 'cuz I was so tired - even though it is low impact, the higher step does make it work. My HRM measured 777 cals with a HR of between 131 & 156. And don't I wish I could believe the fat % which "said" 40%. Heavens, no wonder my pants fell down to my ankles a few times at work today.

JUST KIDDING ! ! ! :p

Wendy - who most likely will not even see this - funny how the drills and lows can really get to you with the DOMS. Your weekend sounds like soo much fun - my DH is a NASCAR fanatic and would love that package too. Think I may be picking a few brains here for those "fun" packages you ladies seem to have found for the fans. Hope you enjoyed the weekend in PA.

Jen - Well glad you got some extra zzzzzzz's this AM - it so helps. And hoping you got to play with Jari a bit today too ! Especially with all the "fun" you are having with the EX. A place in the same building as BF, huh? (is that boyfriend or best friend - am thinking the first?) In any case, do you live in a small town, is that the only place he could find an opening, OR did he do it on PURPOSE? Hope all works out OK with the dog - they can be sooooo wonderful, assuming that it will get along with your cats.

Diana - Good to hear the workouts are going well for you except for the "pain". Both the workouts you mentioned would probably have aggravated you condition so good thing you didn't attempt those. Hope that the B&G will work for you. Well how wonderful to be a grandma to twin baby girls. Do you get to see them often? I'm amazed at how fast they grow up - can't believe my grandson is nearly 15 months old ! I guess with the 18YO not working - I guess it is good that he is in college - I can be a softie and remember how once the responsibilities started (worked and attended college) they never ended. Thinking it is a bit harder for our kids than when we grew up. Most likely he will want $ for more than gas here pretty soon? So nice to hear about your "baby" being a straight A student ! I love it when kids are successful like that. As far as the nutrition plans and exercise programs - I guess I just look at it as a challenge and the good part is changing things up here and there to "figure" out what will work. I LOVE PUZZLES ! LOL !:p

Laura - Well happy to hear you had a GREAT class last night. Thanks for posting the Mint Condition version - copied into my Fitness Files !:D Every once in a while I go in and pull "stuff" out for a variety. Very, very happy not to see any wildlife in the way of your car or chasing you today !:p Perhaps you are good to go until the next full moon, eh? And in answer to the short waist thing . . . ever tried hanging from your toes? He He He ! Sounds like you have your routines pretty well figured out. I thought I did too but I guess that would have been too easy so the ol' metabolism decided to challenge me. That's OK though - I AM GAME !

Hope your date night went well - enjoy your break from FB this weekend.

Dee Dee - good to see you popped in when you could. No worries about missing days and definitely not necessary to do personals if you don't have time ! I think we have all been there ! Glad your workouts got done and LOL at a class of 30 ! How fun for you ! ! ! See ya when you have a bit more time !:D

Angie - Jumping to the end of your post quickly - I am BEHIND in my quarts today. Got frustrated at a coworker early and then needed JAVA ! Didn't stop until the day was nearly over. Oh well, there is always tomorrow.
Isn't it nice to have the workout done in the AM? That is why I have been doing my absolutely best to get it done before work. Plus it gives me more energy to get started.

Legs and hips were not sore today, thankfully, just wanted to peter out after about 2/3 of the way through my workout - kept on going though and I'm glad I did. Needed a little carb boost this afternoon though - guess I did a bit much cardio the past few days, but it has helped with the stress so, oh well ! ITA with you about the nursing direction. I am doing my best to guide her in that direction rather than vet tech because I really do think she would enjoy it and there has been a shortage of nurses for a long time and supposedly into the future too. Thanks for the input ! DS 21 should know in the next month or two, I HOPE ! DD is out on her own at 19! Talk about learning lots of lessons ! She is strong and has a pretty level head (though a bit crazy at times) and has pretty good common sense. She is not afraid to ask for advice either so that helps too. She doesn't always keep the best of friends which is what causes some of her downfalls, but she is making it OK so far. LOL at your boys being opposites - mine are too and were 18 months apart, then DD is even more different and was totally the trouble maker of the three ! I remember many more of the good times than the bad, and as far as them growing up, I remember more fights between my brother and myself than my kids ever had with the 3. They really do love each other and though they can be quick to criticize, they would help each other pretty much whenever asked. I think I am in total adoration of your darling little Cam already - I love that he has opposite traits, and as the youngest, they tend to have to stick up for themselves. He reminds me alot of my DD and I tell you, I always thought to myself "at least no one will be stepping all over her when she grows up". And pretty much she sticks up for herself and vocalizes her opinion. Not always the best idea, but hey, better than keeping it all bottled up inside - that is how my DS21 is. I think his sibs picked on him for nearly 13 or 14 years before he ever once fought back. And he got if from both sides since he was the middle child. And yes, the fighting can get old, but I bet in the next few years they will either be too busy to bother with each other or find some common grounds as they start maturing and will become buddies. It is amazing what 5 years and high school can do to a kid.

So what's up with "cruise" & "excursions"? I missed something somewhere?

OK - think I am caught up AND MORE?

I am enjoying getting to know you CAB ladies . . . soooo good that the checkins joined ! Thanks again Wendy !

Hi to Shirl if you have a chance to glance . . . hope your days are going well.
