I'm doing the STS rotation and I missed the leg workout last week . I had a cough that just wouldn't quit and I simply couldn't get through it . It was disc 6 of Meso 1, and just so you know, I'm doing Meso 1 twice and this was my second week. I'm supposed to start week 3 today. So should I forgive myself and move on to disc 7, or suck it up and do both disc 6 and 7 today?

Cudos to you for even thinking about doing 2 STS in the same day:D

I think the beauty of doing the 6mo rotation allows for life to get in the way. What if you did Disc 7 today, Disc 8 tomorrow then a day of rest and do Disc 9? Or skip Disc 7 entirely if you want to stay on track?

My bad, I clicked on the wrong vote:eek: I voted for suck it up, but I meant the other. Sorry!!! I think if you've already done #6 once, you haven't really missed anything in the program. I'd stick to being on schedule and do #7 today and keep on moving. The other option would be #7 today #6 tomorrow and #8 the next day to stay on track and get it back in there, but that's alot of STS. I'd skip it, you're doing the 6 month rotation, so missing 1 day isn't going to break the bank. People get sick, it happens. The important thing is that you get better!

If it were me....

I would do disc 6 in the morning. Disc 7 at night, and have 2 leg days in one week.
I did have 2 leg days throughout my 8 weeks in meso one. I used Plyo as my second leg day.
Just go lighter in disc 6 today and then when you get to your second leg day, go heavier.

Cuz - relax, enjoy whatever workout you do today, and don't worry about that missed one. Like Nan said, the important thing is that you get better. Whenever I try to make up a missed workout, it just stresses me out more.

ditto what Sharon said. The second I start trying to make up a missed workout, it stresses me out. You need to be rested and ready for TOMORROW, right? Just do what's on tap today and forget yesterday!

Forgive yourself. I miss a w/o on occasion due to circumstances beyond control, or just b/c I can't get into it, & I refuse to beat myself up over it--it's not as if I don't have the whole rest of my life to exercise.

Plus, you don't want to overtrain. :)

Michele my dear -- forgive and move on -- BUT, allow yourself the option to throw it back in later in the week. I cannot only work legs 1x week. Even on STS my rotation would be upper body Sunday, legs Tues, Upper body Thurs and plyo legs Fri -- love getting in that second leg day. So move on, but if you feel stronger later on and have a chance, put it in. If not, let it go. That's the beauty of being accountable to YOU!

I would sneak Disc 6 in somehow, perhaps with a cardio day, or split up Discs 6 and 7 as Cynthia suggested.

(Then again, I did Disc 3 yesterday followed by 20 minutes of HIIT. I was useless the rest of the day. I suggest an early bedtime if you choose this option!)

Thanks you guys!!! I SO appreciate your input. I was really laboring over what I should do and I've made my decision. I'm going to do disc 7 today, BUT -- and it's a BIG BUT -- if I feel up to it I'll squeeze in disc 6 sometime this week. Maybe I'll just do the leg conditioning drills, and then throw in a few sets of squats and lunges here and there while I'm watching TV. :p

I do most of my cardio on the elliptical and I view that as a leg/glute workout, too. Coach Sean'll make sure I work my legs-n-glutes. ;) :D

Give yourself a great big hug for being consistent and move on Michele! You had a good reason to miss the workout.

The only thing I would have done in your shoes was start my next week with the missing leg workout. I would still only do 3 weight sessions next week, except the order would be different for the rest of Meso 1, so I would end up finishing the rotation 1/3rd week later than scheduled.

I thought about doing that, but I was sick most of last week which really threw off my schedule. I did the chest, shoulder, bicep workout last Monday as planned, but didn't do back and triceps until Saturday. DH and I were gone all day Sunday, and I was gone all day yesterday, too. That is why I'm doing my STS workouts on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday this week. I'll do CCV8 on the elliptical this week -- that'll teach me to miss an STS leg workout!! :p :D
