WW ladies - a question re AP

Do you consider Cathe cardio workouts as medium or high intensity? I was considering them high intensity because I'm not totally an advanced exerciser and I still have to modify (more or less depending on which workout and how long of workout it is). Do you think that is fair? However, that usually gives me somewhere around 5-6 AP. Are you allowed to use that many? I though you can use no more than 4 which is what I have been doing.

What about for the strength workouts? Medium or high? Thanks ladies.

Hey...
I think high intensity, her cardios. I would classify strength workouts as medium intensity...I'd say 3 points or maybe 4 for the strength ones.

I haven't been a member of WW for about 6 months now, but thought I remember with the new Flex Points system that you can have as many activity points as you earn...and you can bank them too. I'd follow that rule...it makes sense to me. I thought the old "no more than 4 AP per day" rule was under the old system.

Hope this helps
Jen

On the new Flex Points System, you can earn as many as you want in one day, but you must eat them on that day. because of the Flex Points, there is no more banking of activity points. I have questioned the high activity on weight workouts too, but if you compare Cathe to Joyce, or Firm, who do you work harder with lifting?? Besides, your body needs the extra calories after lifting. I work as hard as I can thru all of my workouts, and call them all high. Just my 2 cents....Lori

Navywifey,

I agree with Jen. I count strength training as moderate, and cardio as high. Recently, I've been keeping my cardio "low intensity": no power, and no risers under my step because I've been ill, so I count this way as moderate.

I'm so glad to see other Cathe-ites doing WW! I love the Points system!

I never added back in my activity points. I exercise either cardio or wt training 5-6 days per week, but never added in any activity points (or ate/used).

Bearing in mind "intensity" is a subjective thing, this is the formula I used when I was actively doing WW. I rated Cathe's cardio workouts as "high" intensity for me, and her strength training as either "high" or "moderate", depending on how hard I felt I was working that day. I hope this helps!

Body Weight/124 X time/intensity level

Low intensity = 35 (50 - 65% maximum heartrate)
Moderate = 25 (65 - 75%)
High = 10 (75 - 90%)
