WW Activity Pts and CAthe

Cbelle

Cathlete
I just started Weight Watchers and wanted to know how many pts CAthe tapes would be. Specifically CTX, MIS, and straight 1 hr cardio. Thanks!

I just started WW again yesterday too (online version) and was kind of wondering the same thing.

Hi Cbelle, Congrats on combining WW with Cathe. Its a winning combination. I lost 75 pounds doing the combo and have kept it off, with a few 5 pound "swings" for a year now. In terms of Activity points, after a few weeks, I received an exercise counter with divided activities into Light, Moderate, and High intensity. A sliding scale is used depending on weight, and length of activity. Sounds complicated, but its a simple little tool. In terms of Cathe cardio, its definately "high" intensity. I usually count the warm-up in terms of activity minutes, but not the cooldown. Most tapes are about 50 minutes. For me, 145, this equates to 6 points. I count strenth work as "Moderate", mainly because "Light" is defined as exercise that does not "make you sweat". Cathe and No-sweat are not terms that go together in my book! 50 minutes of strength work, I count as 2 points. It all depends on your weight. When I started really exercising, a Cathe cardio workout was 8 points, which really helped with the amount of food intake! Hope this helps. Cindy

Thanks for the info on the pts! Sounds like you and I are similar (I weigh 143 as of this morning) so I'll go by what you said. I'm doing WW online so I don't think I get the AP sliding scale. Did you eat your AP or bank them?

For me it was unrealistic to calculate activity points that closely, so I just count 10 minutes as one point, and this has worked fine for me. Like the above person said, any Cathe exercise is high-intensity.

I found I couldn't keep up the energy to work out unless I ate all of my points (23) and all of my ap (6) every day, and I lost well at that level.

Good luck, you will do it with ww and cathe. How could you not! :) Millie
