Wrist pain with bicep curls

Hi Cathe,

I seem to get bilateral wrist pain after performing bicep curls whether with dumbbells or barbell. Is that an indication of using too heavy of a weight or bad form in that I'm not keeping my wrist straight? I try to pay attention to my form when I'm doing them. Also, when I'm using the barbell I have to kind of take a wide grip because if it's too narrow I get pain at the top of the motion. But I can say my biceps are swoll (as my son likes to say) after my workout so I know I'm working them and not just the wrist. Just curious why my wrists would hurt.

Thanks for any opinions.

Tracey,

It is possible that you are experiencing pain if your "breaking" (letting your hands drop back) your wrist when you do curls. My sister was having pain in her wrist and I found she was using to heavy a weight, as soon as she lightened up a bit and stopped breaking her wrists the pain stopped.
Is the pain at the top on a narrow grip the same pain?
