Would like input on the tapes I want to order

So I'll try not to make this too confusing. (Nice start, huh? lol) I have never ordered from Cathe's site before and because I am financially challenged right now, I'm trying to make the most cost effective choices if this is a possibility.

I would like to get Kick Max, High Step Training and Gym Style Legs. After reading reviews for GS Chest & Triceps, I'm thinking of getting that too and then am wondering if I should add GS Back, Biceps & Shoulders even though I don't seem to be as drawn to that one as much as the others. I don't think there's a special deal if you buy all of the Gym Style series.

To add more complication to this, I've been looking at the 4 DVD's that could be pre-ordered. I'm really only interested in 3 of them but for an extra $7 or so, I can get the fourth one. If I pre-order these, then I get free shipping on the above ones. Thing is, since I'm financially challenged now, do I sink $80 into the pre-orders that may not be coming out for months? Do I forget about the savings on the shipping and the pre-orders and just order the few that I want now? HELP ME!!!! lol

Thanks. Bam

Hmm, well, I hate to say this, but if you're strapped financially, it might be wise to hold off on the pre-order for now. I like the choices you made, although I personally prefer High Step Challenge to HSTA (but that's just me, and you'll get the other one eventually). If you're doing strength work, it's important to work ALL of the muscle groups, so you wouldn't want to get GS C/T without GS B/B/S. However, perhaps it would be more cost effective to get the Pyramids or one of the full-body weight workouts like ME or Muscle Max. (Pyramids and ME have lots of premixes so you get a lot of bang for your buck - not sure about MM, though.)

Good luck! Let us know what you decide!!

Marie

Marie, I do have the pyramid series and ME but really liked the idea of the GS series. I also will be getting some money on an upcoming birthday but am not sure how much of it to use on DVD's and how much for other things because of my current financial status. Thanks a lot for your suggestions!:7

Oh, I thought you were Cathe virgin! :) By all means, order the GS - it is really a great series. I really love the work with the band, as it is a nice change from the usual.

And happy birthday! What else could be as important as Cathe!! ;-)

Marie

Sorry Marie. I have some of her workouts but I haven't gotten them specifically from this site. I was hoping to find some hidden special if ordering from here, especially when ordering all 3 gym styles. Looks like that's not going to happen. :-(

Thanks again.

My new faves are the GS series so those are definitely getting my vote. I'm suffering as I type because I just completed GS/BSB - just love to hate those dang band add-ons - and I "experienced" GS/CT and GS/legs earlier in the week.

If you're tight on money, to actually get some new DVDs real soon I would hold off on preorder and get the others you want.

Thanks Melody. I guess I should wait on the pre-orders especially since we have no idea when they'll be coming out. I was just trying to maybe save some money in the long run, but in the short run, it probably isn't the best idea.

By any chance do you, or anyone else, know how much the regular price for the new ones will be? I couldn't find it on the site. Do you think it will be the usual $26.99 for each one? Thanks.

Bam

Bam,

When I clicked through to "preorder online" in small red print under the current presale prize it shows reg. price will be $26.99 per DVD.

Good luck in your decision. I recently ordered and received several Cathe DVDs including the GS and have been in workout confusion heaven!

Bam! What workouts do you have? And what are your current fitness goals?

When I started buying Cathe dvd's I tried to get the most bang for my buck and IMHO starting with the endurance/total body workouts is the best way to do that because you get cardio and strength training in these dvd's. And...because they are chaptered, you can mix and match so for instance, on a day you only want cardio you just do the cardio portion's, or on a day you just want strength training...you do those portion's.

Endurance/Total Body Workouts:

BodyMax
BootCamp
Step-Jump-Pump
Circuit Max
High Step Challenge
High Step Training
Cardio & Weights

The BodyMax dvd has three workouts on it: Power Hour (all strength training), Max Intensity Strength (all strength training), BodyMax (cardio+circuits+strength).

That dvd is one of the best buys, imho.

Step-Jump-Pump you also get Step Blast (all step cardio).

Bootcamp you have. :D

I would try to sway you towards buying the High Step Training And The PowerHour/MIS/BodyMax dvd.

Bam! I was going to add to my previous post but have been locked out of the site this morning...but now I'm in again...

About the Presale...I would put your money into dvd's that are available now. It is so uncertain as to when the new ones will be filmed, it will be months from now as it is before they'll be available and could very likely be into next year. So, I would spend your money now on the workouts that you want and worry about the new ones once they are made and available for sale.:D

BAM,

If you order the GS series from Collage, you get a break - I can't remember how much, but it was worthwhile. I love the entire GS series - if you are thinking about any of them, you should get the entire collection. They are all fabulous.

I love KickMax and HSTA - both are fun, killer workouts. You'll love them.

Mspina, you know I was thinking of ordering all of the DVD's from Collage. I just noticed yesterday that they don't have HSTA. I could swear that they offered this up to at least a couple of weeks ago. I'm investigating this with them. On Cathe's site, it doesn't state how much shipping is in general. On the Collage site, they do tell you exactly what shipping will be depending on how many items you order. I don't want to have to place an order to find out what the shipping will be. I would think there would be guidelines on Cathe's site. (Perhaps there are and I'm just not seeing it. Lately, my eyes have not been seeing things on these boards that have been right in front of me. x( ) Thanks for your suggestion.

40something, my goals are really to slim my lower body. I don't really have a lot of weight to lose, maybe 5lbs. or so. I don't look like I need to lose weight but my body fat % is higher than what I'd like - at least based on info 3 or so years ago. }( I don't really want to build as much as I want to tone. I absolutely do not (warning, step lovers may want to cover their eyes NOW, lol) like stepping. I really enjoy Boot Camp and KPC. I want to have a nice upper body workout, especially for my triceps, and something to really tone my lower body. I've used PUB (which I just discovered that I really like), PLB, Legs & Glutes, Supersets and Push/Pull. The DVD's that I was thinking of getting seemed to fit the bill. Thanks.
