Worth getting CTX series?

I am awaiting the arrival of the Slow & Heavy series and am considering ordering Power Hour as well, based on the reviews I have seen so far. I already have the Pure Strength series, BodyMax, MIC, MIS, Cardio Kicks, etc, but have done all of them almost exclusively and am looking for something(s) new. I am ready to challenge my current fitness level!

Would you still recommend the CTX series? Your reviews for them were great, but I am wondering if, a year later, you would still recommend them.

Thanks in advance!

Sandra

I definitely think so. I sometimes do the CTX series as is, and other times I mix it up by combining strength sections (I have the DVDs, so that's easy to do). The cardio is a perfect length to tack on after doing PS or a CTX split. Most of the cardio segments are 25-30 minutes long. The cardio is all pretty high impact, but I don't usually do it day after day after day. :)

The CTX strength routines focus on building endurance w/ lower weights/high reps.

YES! These videos have provided such felxibility for me! I've used them in so many different ways. I did them "as is", I've done the strength portions only (in rotations similar to PS series), I've used cardio portions to tack on extra time to cardio, I've used cardio portions to work a rotation where I do strength training just once per week and rotated PS and CTX strength, and others have used PS and CTX series strength one after another to get a solid half-hour of one body part per week. They are also a great addition for the variety and crosstraining that they offer. Kickboxing, hi/lo, interval, step, and that killer leg routine! They have provided a springboard of ideas and rotations for me that I never would have thought to do otherwise. They make flexibility very easy. They are also well put together - some of Cathe's best work! And best of all, they are FUN! (Do you get the idea that they are my all-time favorites? They are!:-jumpy)

Yes! This is a great Bang-for-Your-Buck package, with lots of varied cardio and strength work. You can't go wrong with it for mix and match options.

Thank you...

Melissa F, Jul & Honeybunch for your thoughts. I had a feeling that I would "have" to order them and now I can't wait! I just did Circuit Max again this morning for the first time and am pumped. I have been almost exclusively running for cardio lately and almost forgot how tough those step workouts can be.

Thanks again!

YES! The CTX series is awesome and has a permanent place in my workouts.

The CTX was an investment worth every penny I paid and then some!

After using the series, my energy and endurance SOARED and I moved to an 8" step for all my Cathe workouts (including MIC) for the first time!

I count Cathe's CTX and Cardio Kicks and Circuit Max among my all time favorite fitness videos ever made! Great cast, great music and of course Cathe! Only thing I missed was Cedie and am so glad she is in the latest series.

I can't wait to get my latest DVDs! The wait is killing me! But I know the rewards will be great when I receive them!
