Workout Warriors - Summer Revival

Janis: Yup I've been up in the middle of the night lately. I got into some poison ivy two weeks ago so I've been taking prednisone. It's a good/bad thing for me. Cures my poison ivy, makes me not as hungry, gives me tons of energy. But I can hardly sleep, but I'm tired most of the time. I've been up a lot between 2 to 5. I would probably say I am doing close to phase 3 of Atkins lately. Once the induction phase is over, carbs do seem to be allowed. Just not the ones you know you're not supposed to be eating. But you can add in healthy carbs. Even some oatmeal! But I don't label what I'm doing as "Atkins". Just trying to eat healthy. My new favorite snack is low carb wrap with 2 TBSP PB2 and wrap a banana in it. YUMM. Only about 200 calories, filling, and satisfying.

Kim: Way to go on the 8 inch step! I should have done that when I did the Get in Shape for Your Wedding Video. 6 inches didn't cut it.

Tonight I did Supreme90 Total Body and 20 minutes on the stairmaster, took the dogs for a walk.

I find I’m feeling very much more positive and focussed. The polar opposite in fact of my posting of last Saturday. The sun's gone away and the last couple of days its been cold and rainy but inside me I feel like the sun’s come out. Suddenly I’m a LEAN, MEAN FITNESS MACHINE. Hhmmmm gonna need to sub-in ‘a little bit wobbly’, mean fitness machine but that doesn’t work at all well with the whole rhyming ethos – (and I’m spoiling you with some more rhymings later on).

The reason for this cerebral about-turn is that I’m suddenly svelte. Might need to redefine svelte just a tad there and knock the corners off the dictionary definition, how’s svelte(ish) working for you? I’ve really clamped down on inhaling sugar like some be-maniacal-ant-eater-on-a-mission and upped the Abs (which I’d been being soooooo lazy about) and it seems to have worked out just tickedy-boo.

Today I’m wearing my best dress and its actually loose. This is a ‘safari style’ dress, sleeveless, in black linen. UberChic and I’ve got it going on right there. If you will, it’s very Banana Republic meets ………………… well Banana Republic pretty much I guess. Anyway, I wear it with a belt and today the belt keeps slipping south – this is not a frequent occurrence. I’ve taken to always buying my clothes a size too large. This is my Muffin Strategy. Never wear anything so tight that it doesn’t allow margin for Starbucks refuelling and taking on board an emergency muffin.

Now the good news. Tomorrow I have a breakfast assignation. Not managed to sync one of these bad-boys into our diaries for a little while; but mischief a’foot on the morrow. Might be going to here: Days Out at Go Ape | Wendover Woods, Buckinghamshire ‘Go Ape’. Been planning this for a while and although no intention of swinging about in a tree canopy in this weather this will be a reconnaissance trip – hopefully incorporating muffinage.

The whole DD with the BF thing. The exceptionally beautiful DD is unlucky in love. Yeah, right there, she gets messed around and I just don’t get it. Don’t take my word for it – DD’s a real beaut. Here she is at her work modelling the uniforms. FIRST CHEER Cheer Shop Green, White and Black Xplosion Cheerleading Uniform
(If you look at other styles there are two blondies on the site they are not both DD).

Anyway I digress, DD is being outré cagey on the whole BF thing – doesn’t want to jinx it me thinks so I really don’t know at this stage if its got legs (the relationship I mean, not the BF). In terms of legs I’m finding that the only men I’m interested in these days need to have four legs, pointy ears and a tail.

Kimberly Yep, try that stepping @ 8". YOWZA. And Janis yes I had noticed Rhonda always with a raised step, but I just thought that was b'coz she was super-fit. Which is precisely what I used to do in class in my 20s "Look At Me - Look At Me". Now, I'm having a sweat-fest in my kitchen, living in fear of the door-bell; thinking: "Don't look at me. Don't look at me". Also Kimberly in an earlier post you said about your feet cramping. I was getting that a lot last summer. In fact DD took me to her fancy-shmancy gym and I went into the step class where he did DOUBLE step. If anyone don't know, that's where you have two steps and do lots of intricate footwork and my feet were in knots all the way through. People were dropping out but there was no way I was missing out on that so I pushed on and in the end I felt like one of those ancient Chinese ladies - you know in the widdy-diddy shoes.

Cathy Thanks for pointing out the free shipping. That jumped off the page to me from the NEWSLETTER this week. May not be needing it just at the moment as am getting a bit of help from my Fairy W/O Mother ;)

MJ Yoo-Hoo - so glad to have you back. Um, thought the Wimbledon Finals were both a bit of a damp squib. After the ladies on Saturday I was full of anticipation for a scorcher from the men. Didn't deliver (IMO), some good tennis in there undeniably, just not enough.

Sorry you've got a week's worth here as gonna be off-line for a little while now due to switchover so see y’all laters.

Check this out. I heard it last week. JUST FANTASTIC.

And the sunlight clasps the earth
And the moonbeams kiss the sea
What are all these kissings worth
If thou kiss not me?

It’s by Shelley and if you wanna enjoy out the whole thing Shelley's "Love's Philosophy." (you’re welcome). Knock yourselves out.

So, I'm going about my workouts backwards today. I'm supposed to do Leaner Legs, which I've never done in the morning and then Double wave pyramid plus the BBW this afternoon. Instead, I did a short bike ride this morning, cut a minute off my time from the other day and it took me a few minutes to stop breathing heavy once I stopped. Then I did the BBW. My PLAN is to do Leaner Legs this afternoon.

Thanks to Sparty and his raccoon "friend" I had a really rough night. Though actually that started by DH coming into the bedroom to sleep. I do so much better when he's on the couch. He hates having the fan on, and he flops around, sighs numerous times. I got hot and then too awake, so came out to the living room which he had completely closed up. So, then I was overheated and even after I opened the windows and drank ice water, I couldn't cool down enough to be comfortable. Enter Mr. Raccoon. Sparty had been sleeping so nicely on the loveseat and, but windows were open and his doggy ears are ALWAYS on alert no matter how deeply asleep he was. So, I went and got a flashlight and sure enough, there in the bird feeder, sits a raccoon happily munching away on the black oil sunflower seed. Later he moves over and takes down the suet feeder to add some variety to his diet. Sparty is going crazy, but I'm not letting him out because dog vs- raccoon, there's just too much odds of blood being shed. Finally, I put him in his kennel, where he carried on for awhile....brought him in....he remains agitated....back to kennel....finally back in and and he settles down and goes back to sleep. In the meantime, somewhere between 1 1/2-2 hrs has passed and I'm finally cool enough to go to sleep. And lucky me, I woke up around 6 a few minutes before DH gets up.

Sooooo, I'm planning an after lunch nap, then the workout, and then over to the neighbors pool so the boys can play. In the meantime, I'm dragging but trying to get the basic stuff down around the house.

Wishing everyone (including me!) a full and uninterrupted night of sleep tonight.

Kim I don't think you need to write fiction at all, you can just embellish your life a tad - it's highly entertaining all on it's own. :D

TGIF!

And another hot day here, so hot I literally lost 2#'s in water weight from the start of my workout to the end. I will not mark that down as a permanent weight loss lest I be disappointed later when I suck down a jar of sun tea and it replenishes all the lost fluid. The workout today was Hiit 30/30 (a fun one) and Legs & Glutes.

Kimberly - Oh my, poison Ivy and Prednisone! Congrats on getting your workouts in despite the misery combo you have going. What's on late night t.v.? Oh, I meant to tell you close caption (brilliant idea) doesn't work for me because our satellite provider no longer offers it. Bummer. I'd guess that I'm eating somewhat similar to Atkins phase 3; I'm eating much lower on the glycemic index and seeing some improvements, less bloat and the scale is finally starting to reflect happy numbers. Your snack sounds yummy, I love pb and banana together. What's on tap for you today?

Kim - DD is a doll! Love her smile! And "Days Out at Go Ape" looks like a lot of fun! Wish I was going too. Enjoy your new sveltish-ness, thanks to GardenMax, and have an extra scone for me too. Hey, I think I used to have the same dress. Hmmmm, wonder where that dress disappeared too? Ah, I probably gave it away after I had babies and figured I'd never wear it again. Uh - do you want me to find you a Donkey?:D:D Ha, visions of "the lost boys" popped into my head. If you ever meet a man named Pinocchio, I'd quick turn the other way and run for the hills.

Kim and Kimberly - Have you two ever employed golf ball rolling to release tension and pain from the sole of the foot? It is a good strengthener too. Picking marbles up off the ground with the toes might help too. This one cause cramps at first, but it helps in the long run.

Cathy - Here's hoping you can get a nap in and a better night's sleep tonight. Do you have a two bedroom house? Is the BBW - the bonus 300 walking lunges? Maybe you can take an evening swim before bed tonight, just a thought.:)

Have a happy Friday! :D

Nap wasn't terribly successful, though I did zone out for awhile. I wanted to do something more with legs, but thought Leaner Legs would be too much, so I did Legs & Glutes and used the workout blender option and did 30 minutes of that instead.

We have a two bedroom house, so that's the boys in one and DH and I get the other, though generally one of us ends up on the couch. Usually him more than me!

I don't do the neighbors pool. Even right now when it's really hot during the day, the water is not very warm. Not heated and the nights are in the 60's. Even the boys usually don't swim very long and generally swim a few minutes and lay on the side to warm up and repeat.

Janis 30/30 is fun! I need to do it again soon. And Legs & Glutes is still my fave leg workout just because Cathe is so cute and extra relaxed and happy in that one. ;)

Happy Sunshine-y Saturday,

I went for a 6 mile, 60min run at the vineyard today. It was a really great run. :D

Kim - I meant to ask you about the two steps used in that group class you attended. How did he have you set them up, were they like and "I" with you being the vertical line in the middle, or were they like an "H" and you were the horizontal bar? I've been puzzling that one out for a day now. Bound feet - god can you imagine trying to balance your weight on little foot-balls?

Kimberly
- How is your poison ivy? We have poison oak here, which can look like ground cover, or baby sprouts from a host tree, or vines winding up a tree, and it can even grow so large as to be it's own tree. Nasty stuff. What are you doing after Supreme90?

Cathy - Cathe is super cute in Legs & Glutes, but somehow I just didn't feel worked out if you know what I mean, but I wasn't up to the gruelfest of B&G. Is your basement finished or unfinished?

MJ - Hi honey, how are you? Did you end up starting a rotation of some sort? What about just attempting two full body workouts a week and fill in with cardio and tennis? :):)

Next week is a busy one. My middle son is having his best friend come for a two week visit. After that my youngest son goes to a two week academic summer camp at Stanford. Around that same time my eldest son's best friend is coming for a week visit. His friend, since they were like 8 years old, has a band in Santa Monica. They are recording their first album and have a regular nightly gig at a club. He is a very talented guitarist. I can't wait to watch his star rise.

Have a good one ladies. Tomorrow I'm doing either yoga or pilates or a barre/sculpt mat workout, I haven't decided which.

:D

Poison ivy is gone! I'm only aboout 25 days into the Supreme90. I am not fully committed to doing it the whole 90 days. I am going to do it as long as I am still enjoying it. And am I really doing it since I'm subbing other cardio if I feel like it?? Whatever...I am enjoying the Supreme90 program, but I need more than 2 cardio DVD's!

Running at the vineyard sounds like it would be nice scenery. Did Rowan get to go with, or is 6 miles too far for him? Six miles is a long run.

I flew out of bed before work yesterday and treadmilled/stairmastered for 50 minutes. Later took to dogs for a walk and golfed 9 holes. (no cart). Today my plan is Supreme90 Total Body and a long bike ride.

Kimberly

Sunday Sunday!

Hi Everyone

I did Alyssa Wyatt's Intermediate Pilates. I keep forgetting how effective Pilates is. I prefer classical Pilates over fusion yoga/Pilates/barre dvds, but it is difficult to find intermediate to advanced Pilates dvds that don't annoy me. Alyssa Wyatt I like a lot.

Kimberly - where do you work? You fit a lot into your day - way to go! 50 minutes on the treadmill and stairmaster ain't too shabby, plus nine holes of golf carrying the bag, good for you. A long bike ride sounds heavenly. :)

Yesterday I washed, combed out and dried both dogs with their dog hair dryer. Lots and lots of right arm and shoulder work. Today is house cleaning.

:D

Well another bad night, but I did head out about 7:45 for my ride. Made it about 1/2 a mile and realized I'd forgotten my nice frozen water bottle. :( Luckily, it was early and only about 70, so I opted to chop a few miles off and just keep going. So, I did 12 miles without ever stopping the bike. The only reason I generally stop is for water and I figured since I didn't need to do that, I might as well just keep riding. Must say I was rather stiff once I got off and starting trying to walk around.

Janis the basement is finished and the only thing I'm really missing is mirrors. Someday, I'll get those. Sounds like there is lots of fun happening at your place this summer!

Kimberly I'll bet you are VERY happy the poison ivy is gone. Never had it myself even though I've lived in the country most of my life. DH gets it if he's even near it! Very busy day for you. :)

Waves to everyone else!!!!

Peaceful Rainbow: Do your husband or kids ever join you on your bike rides? I rarely bike alone, I always tag along with my husband. He likes to go by himself sometimes so he can go faster. Our summers are short so I feel I need to get out and enjoy the weather while I can. Funny how people either get poison ivy easily or don't get it at all. It is so miserable.

Janis: I can't take credit for carrying my bag, I have a pull cart. BUT our course is very hilly and it's still a good workout! My husband has been carrying his bike prepping for our hiking trip this fall.

Got in my bike ride, dog-walking and Supreme90 Total Body. Time to relax and wind-down!

Kimberly

Well I'm tossing in the towel on this rotation. I just don't have enough time and at this point in it, I don't think my knee would hold up to really do it justice. I've got 12 workouts to do before vacation, so I'll figure something out and try something different when I get back. Someday when I can fit in double workouts and I'm feeling like pushing my knee more, I'll try it again.

This morning I did Intensity - step only and then abs on my own, while watching our Florida '08 DVD. Need to do some kind of C & W or total body workout tomorrow.

Kimberly I much prefer to ride alone at this point. I wouldn't mind riding with a group, but not DH who is slower and simply uninterested in riding as long/far as I want to. Plus the boys aren't quite old enough to leave alone yet. In another year Nick will probably be able to keep up with me, if we can get him a better bike. He's still riding one with no gears. He's almost tall enough to ride my bike, but not quite. Next year, I'd be happy to give him mine and get me a new one. :D Mine's a boy's bike and red, so it would work fine for him.

Going to be 90 or more here again today, than start cooling off a bit. Nick has his first game in a week long tournament tonight, so I'm glad it's going to be cooler for the rest.

It is a beautiful Monday Morning,

I did 4DS chest and Back with high intensity step. My goal, for years, has been to learn the step portion of this dvd. I was so proud of myself...for the first half, then it got too complicated. I am too short on time today to do repeated re-winds, so I moved on to the weight work.

Kimberly - Where are you backpacking/hiking this fall? It is wonderful to hear about the activities you and your dh do together. You sound happy.:):):)

Cathy - Where are you going for your vacation? How long will you be gone?

Gotta run, I'm out of town all day today. Waving Hi! to all MJ, and Warriors past, present, and future. Stop in to say, Hello.

:D:D:D

Nothing like a really bad night before a really long day! Have to get Nick to basketball camp this morning and then I might try and sleep a bit more. This afternoon is the fair, meeting some of my classmates at the park, up to the field so Derek can sign cards for his coaches and then back to the fair for a race tonight. I'm soooooo not into racing and this is one of those things you do just because your kid wants to go.

Nick pitched 4 innings of shut out ball last night before moving to short and they won the first game of the tournament. I do wish they'd score their runs earlier in the game though it would make it much less stressful to watch!!

So, no workout today. Hope you all are refreshed and raring to go!

Good Morning Ladies,

Kim - Bwhahha:D:D:D:D Remind me to tell you my version of wrong time/date travel...it involves a train from Florence to Venice. Mega mega mega :eek::eek: and :eek::eek: and :confused: and ...hey where is the totally humiliated emoticon?

:D

OK Janis, way to go, any time you're ready, we’d love to hear :D In the meantime I shall tell you about the civilised and sophisticated welcome home dinner that I laid on for DD on Sunday night.

Now, it all started out so well, there was Me, there was DD, there was watermelon mojitos http://cathe.com/forum/f97/watermelon-mojitos-283785/ and there was a repast; lavish and succulent; but I wont expand on that as I don’t want to lose the Vegans so early. Picture then the scene: me munching happily on a carrot and quaffing mojito, DD regaling me of her japes in The Abroad, a balmy summer’s evening with the curtain wafting in the gentle breeze and little Gucci meandering in through the open door.

Baaaaarrrffffff.

What was that hideous stench???? Gucci had obviously politely and discreetly absented himself from proceedings to answer a call of nature (a rather urgent call of nature judging by the reeking stench of it) and had somehow upon making his deposit managed to daub it all over his ample tail which he now took to waving with pride below our erstwhile abandoned dinner.

Immediate action was required. “Grab him” I commanded whilst I made a dash for the scissors. “Don’t worry about that Mum, we can just bath his tail” DD helpfully suggested. Was this going to be a solution?? We needed a rapid decision as Gucci was now parading beneath the dining table and swishing proudly all about. The situation needed to be dealt with in a hurry prior to him redecorating everything within reach.

Bath his tail eh? I ran a quick scenario in my head. DD is not a favourite with the cats. She never has been since when first being able to crawl at the age of 2 she discovered them as a source of unrelenting if somewhat reluctant entertainment. She used to enter the room on all fours in hot pursuit, whilst they, on all fours, but with the advantage of speed, beat a hasty retreat from the nearest exit. Although 20 years on and DD has graduated to 2 legs, little else has changed.

I ran the scenario on fast-forward in my brain. I saw DD, me and an angry thrashing cat (BATHTIME). The final protagonist of our little vignette furious and swaying aloft a sumptuous soapy bathtub, with me attempting a thorough and hygienic shampooing whilst ordering “Hold him tight. No tighter”. While DD in a blatant attempt to raise her popularity with those of the feline community and in utter disregard of my welfare did everything in her power to sabotage this cat laundering by releasing her grip in a thinly veiled coercion with the furry opponent and total indifference to me receiving a face lashing of soapy poop.

“I don’t think so” said I whilst snatching up the sharpest scissors I could find in a hurry and razoring the once majestically tufted tail near down to the bone.

So from this: Exhibit A

To this: Exhibit B

Now looking like the victim of a fiendishly hideous experiment:

It does smell a whole lot better though.

Janis: Double step - here we all are. Shame, though I'm actually the best but sadly just out of shot. Prob didn't want to make all those putz's self-conscious!!!!!!!!!! (wink) ;)

Hi Kim -

Yes, indeedy, cats do not like to be wrangled nor saddled, let alone allow their swishy tails to be assaulted. Poor Gucci. Our cats, when arriving inside a tad bit soiled, get a solid, well aimed shot of water from a spray bottle delivered to their end zones. They leave, offended, no doubt, but return hours later with a much cleaner swishy.

Well, why didn't I think to look for double-step workouts on youtube? So, what's with the women in the white long sleeve mock t-neck and the jumper vest? She knows her moves, but she looks a little over dressed!

Another failure today, I attempted 4ds low instenisty step - after the warm up it was a no go. I ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes (3 miles or 4.82 kms to you.) then came back inside (with a clean tail) and did the lifting portion of 4ds - shoulders, calves, and core.

On my agenda for today - to make/prep several Indian dishes for our Indian repast on Wednesday. Making dal today and prepping samosa filling and dough. Yum, yum. Tomorrow we'll have six boys eating with us. :D I love a full house.

:D:D:D

Peaceful Rainbow: What are you doing for vacation? Do you have a plan for your 12 work-outs, or are you winging it? Sometimes I like a schedule, sometimes I like to do what I feel like.

Janis: So it doesn't sound like your a huge fan of step. Step workouts are my favorite! I will agree that while I look forward to a new step workout, I don't always enjoy having to learn a new step workout. Even though plenty of sweating is involved, I don't feel I get in a good enough workout while learning. Too much stopping and re-winding. I like both the 4ds step workouts. We are going to Glacier National Park this fall. We try to go to the mountains at least once a year.

Tonight my workout was Supreme90 Cardio Challenge.

Kimberly

KadetKim: We've have some similar incidents in the past with out dogs. But believe me, they are much more cooperative about getting cleaned up!!

Kimberly

Kim, I have lived with a LOT of cats in my life and I have one solid rule. I don't bathe them!!! I have an extremely good sense of self preservation and bathing cats would greatly endanger my skin. :p I bathed some kittens once, we're talking between 8-12 wks old and that was more than I needed. I am very handy with scissors when it comes to whacking cat fur!

Kimberly, I have no plan and that's usually a bad thing because no plan tends to = take the easy way out. Much more likely to do tougher workouts if they are part of a rotation.

Which leads me to today. I did sleep better last night, and got to stay put in the bed the whole night, but still not terribly rested, so I didn't do anything this morning. Hoping to ride and do some weights tomorrow morning. I guess I should make that a little more definitive than "hoping".

So, yesterday we showed up at Nick's basketball camp only to find a staff person there (and clearly not a basketball staff person) who tells us there is no camp and thought they didn't get enough kids. So, in the realm of mysteries - why didn't we know this! I sent an e-mail and left a message for the contact person and have heard nothing. So, later today, I'll try contacting the college athletic department and see how far I get with that. Being summer and with the camp cancelled how likely is it that there will even being someone there who knows anything. The only good thing, was it was only 5 minutes from our house, so we didn't invest a lot of time.

Packed in a lot of activity yesterday. Went to the fair, where thanks to meeting up with some teammates, the boys expanding their horizon of fair rides. One of them got Nick on the ferris wheel, which he would not do with Derek and I and then another took Derek on an umbrella type ride, which was a piece of cake for me in my younger days, but I found out years ago now only leaves me queasy. Then to the park to meet up with classmates that I haven't seen in 32 years! There were about a dozen there, and drat if there were NO name tags. I figured out who all but one woman was, and maybe some day that'll come to me. We are all turning 50 between last fall and this December and it's bringing us all back together on Facebook. Other than one of the guys, and one woman who was in a bad accident a couple years ago, they were all looking very trim and healthy which was nice to see. And darn, who can predict in high school which guys are going to be so hot looking at 50 and will have moved down south and acquired just a touch of a drawl...of course, he's married....oh yeah, so am I. :p

And the finishing touch of the day, taking the boys to the Figure 8 race, which included the demolition derby and a burn out competition. Nick thought it was fun, Derek was in more of a bemused "why would anyone want to do this" frame of mind. I tended to side with Derek on that one. Now I've been to figure 8 races at actual race tracks as a child (my parents felt the need to regularly drag us to the local track), but this was quite unlike those. A small dirt area, smaller than a football field (Kim that's American football - not soccer) and had two very large tractor tires to create the 8. They hosed it down really well, so that it started out muddy. The cars started out the race looking like they should be on a trailer to a junk yard. The demolition derby was pretty standard (based on the one other time I'd been to one) line them up in two rows facing away from each other and then they start out backing up and smashing and keep smashing until only one car is running. American men at their finest. :p Now, I'm sure you are waiting with total impatience to find out about the burn out contest. Now when I was in school that would have meant which druggie was the most strung out, but apparently in 32 years the definition has changed! They take a really large piece of machinery and have it brace one of those really big tires. Then they take a piece of something and lay it on the ground and the back tires of the competing vehicle sit on that. Then for just $10 anyone could enter any type of vehicle and they drive onto the piece of whatever it is and push up against the tire and on the signal they accelerate as fast as they can with the goal of creating the most smoke! Yes, there you have it - for just $10 you, too, could try and destroy your tires. Then the winner is chosen by applause. There were 6 entries and you were only allowed to applaud for one - I'm sure there were numerous hidden cameras and spies around to make sure there were no violators. And, who won to do you think, yes, the local boy who had the most friends and family in the crowd. There was also a local wrecker, but apparently, businesses don't get the same level of support as some local guy with a big family. And that reminds me why are they called wreckers, when they are supposed to help people who have vehicle problems - not wreck them!

Hi Ladies

Did 4DS, Kickbox & Lower body.

Kimberly - Step doesn't come easy for me, I am forcing myself to learn to improve my coordination, and I am really starting to enjoy it. However, some of the complicated routines still flummox me! How difficult is Rhythmic Step to learn? How much longer are you doing S90? and What are you doing after? I've never been to Glacier National Park, I hear it is beautiful. What a lovely trip you have planned. :)

Kim - House full of people last night and again today/tonight, I'll get back up to speed soon! :):)

Cathy - See post #52 and it sounds like you had fun yesterday.

MJ - Hi honey, how are you?

On to quick other news, then I have to blast off - I ordered the Reinhardt Kettlebell System and some add'l bells. I am considering ditching the remainder of my rotation, or at least re-writing it, and start the new kettlebell rotation on August 1st, any one interested in joining me?

:D

Oops missed that! We are going zoo hopping. Starting with Fort Wayne, than Indianapolis, onto Cincinnati, then Columbus. Given that DH and I do not have a good track record when it comes to traveling. Especially when it involves more than 3 days. I had really tried to keep it to four nights and we were going to only do the Ohio zoos and then he looks at the map and sees how close Indianapolis is to Cincinnati and next thing I know he's doubled the number of zoos. I looked up and found hotels for every night and he's convinced he can do better. So, he's now planning to go to the library and use the computer and look everything up himself. Would love to be a fly on the wall for that as he hates using computers and I spent 4 hours on my Dad's high speed internet to look up all the info I gathered. He'll never last that long. And he's only got a couple more days to do it, because I told him we need to book hotels at least a week ahead, so that I would have time to get all the maps we need.

It's been a couple years since we did more than overnights for tournaments and it's been quite nice. I'm just practicing my deep breathing exercises so I'll be prepared.
