Workout Warriors Feb 7th - Feb 13th

Ok, I had a whole long message ready to go and had to do something. Derek misunderstood what I said and disconnected the internet. No time now.

So, I did Athletic Step today and I'll post more tomorrow.

Tonight was pyramid upper body followed by BBW. Took about an hour and a half.

Yea, I definitely do NOT recommend STS and the Feb. rotation. I can't imagine how hard that would be. The Feb. rotation is hard enough by itself. So far my legs seem to be handling it ok.

Hey Everyone!

Busy busy day, but managed to do a round of Pilates with Alisa Wyatt before the sun came up. Had bloat-er-if-ic but yummy delicious Indian food with my middle son and his girlfriend, it was a nice visit. Tomorrow I am out of town again, this time towards Sacramento. No chance of getting a work out in, so taking it as a sitting-on-my-butt-driving-all-day rest day.:p

No time for personals...my apologies.:)

MJ- :D:D:D

Mmmmmm.... Indian food. We have a number of Indian team members here at work, and once in a great while they feel compelled to host a lunch for us to showcase their native dishes. Usually one of them has to have a baby or something... hmmm... they need to get on that. :)

I got my STS Meso 2 Legs 1 in last night. Really have to focus on keeping the core tight for those deadlifts. I don't have dumbbells heavy enough and have to load up the barbell, but man it bugs my back if I'm not careful. Really too many deadlifts for my blood. Still I have a slight feel of DOMS in my hamstrings today (which I never get), but I'm not sure if it's STS or the extra hard Cardio Coach I did on the treadmill this morning.

I did Cardio Coach #5 this morning and pushed myself harder than I ever have on a CC workout. Sort of amazes me what I consider a Level 3 effort now in comparison to last fall when I started. And it amazes me even more than I've become a runner at all, considering how many years I'd been convinced I hated running. If I ever meet Sean O'Malley, I will kiss him. Now there's a thought....

Got STS Meso 2 Back & Biceps 1 tonight. It's time to get serious, ladies!

Good Morning All Warriors!

Donna- My family and I use to try to identity birds by their calls. The kids were better at it than me or DH. I love my kettlebells. Which workout will you be doing next week or are you devising your own?

Donna- your daughter's story is cute. I told the story to my DH because if he gets annoying phone calls, he just says- yes, yes , yes or no, no , no.

Janis- I like mixing up which body parts I train together. When I am doing my own weight workouts, I rarely ever do the same workout twice. Something always changes- weight lifted, number of reps, exercises performed, rep speed, number of sets, body parts worked together, length of workout, etc. I really do have attention deficit when it comes to workouts, so I love change. Besides, I find that change really does keep my body guessing and developing.

Cathy- I see thy you are doing good with your days of no sugar. How many days are you trying to achieve?

Workout today-Supreme 90- Tabata Inferno and Classical stretch

Have a Great Weekend!

This morning was STS Disk 3 and I always do the bonus leg work. Then I did AC Weights and Plates abs.

Regina - Janis is making me do 12 weeks of no sugar. :p I'm on day 5 now and still doing fine. She's cracking a really long whip from CA to MI. ;)

Donna - deadlifts are tough for me, because my lower back really is touchy with them. I generally go lighter than I'm capable of because I REALLY don't want to aggravate it. So, I focus on form instead of heavier weights. Definitely not a fave exercise of mine.

When it comes to DOMS, my hamstrings are always the first to join the party. They literally seem to scream "pick me, pick me." :p I've never really figured out why that is, because it doesn't seem to matter how flexible I am at various times.

Janis - have a good trip tomorrow. I hope all the sitting doesn't aggravate things for you!

Kimberly - thanks for verifying for me that I want to drop the insane idea of doing both the February rotation and STS. Really looking forward to hearing what you think of it at the end of the month.

Went to the school yesterday. Met with a math teacher and confirmed that we are right on target with them.

They have a husband and wife team for band and they are wonderful. They worked with Nick to figure out what instrument would be best for him. He was very comfortable with them and did well answering their questions and following directions in trying things out. So, we're going with clarinet, which we have to do a rent to own with through a local music store. Having not been in school since the late 70's just let me say that instruments have really gone up in price. So, we're looking to do some budget cutting that will be long term as it's around 3 years to pay it off. Unless, he opts out of band the next year which he can do. At the moment though, he's enthralled with the idea. Really, this fun MI economy with year after year after...of no raises, is not getting any funner as the years go by and the boys get older and more involved in activities and eat even MORE food.

Regina: I noticed you are doing Supreme 90 workouts. Are you happy with them? Would you recommend them? I was thinking about ordering the set. Looked like some positive recommendations in the Open Discussion forum. Just curious what you thought.

Hi everyone....I'm back, I guess. So I ended up with a kidney infectiion (not sure if I posted that?) and that was rotten. Just back from my first workout since then; only lasted 12 minutes on the stepmill then did they elliptical. Guess I'm not 100% but at least it's something, right? I think after I eat I'll go back and do some swimming.

So Simon got his MRI/CT results back, and the brain tumor is inoperable as they predicted. He is not yet well enough for more chemo. The doctors have given him 2-3 months. I guess I'm in the process of learning to let go and facing re-building my future.

On a brighter note, I looked at the pictures of Sparty last week, even if I lacked the energy to post and that's so cool that he makes toys out of Rubbermaid lids! :D

Regina, I am in awe of you and what you know. Awe! All those ancient languages.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Oh Mary, ((((((((BIG HUGS)))))))) already so much to handle and getting sick, too. :( I know that Simon's news wasn't unexpected, but still the reality of it so hard. Please know that we are all here for you and feel free to say whatever you feel like saying or asking for things if you need them. Keeping both of you in my thoughts.

Glad that Sparty could brighten your day and did you know that Rubbermaid tops are not indestructible? He's proved that by leaving a few pieces laying around the yard.

We're in the midst of a thaw here and it was over 40 today! Been a couple months since we've seen those numbers. And sunshine, too!!!

This morning I did IMAX 2 and Core Max 2. Good thing yesterday was a rest day as I woke up at 5:30 to no power. Thankfully, it was only off a couple hours and the temp never got below 60 in the house. We had a few hours of really heavy winds during the night, which probably aided the power outage and I discovered when I left to go shopping they'd also done a number on the road, as it was very drifted in a lot of places. Was glad I had the van with decent clearance.
