Morning Warriors-

Just getting the thread started for the week. Did the lowmax step combos premix this morning, tennis on tap for tonight barring rain. Off to a meeting now....

Check back later, have a good monday everyone.

Got rolling with STS this morning. Disk 1 Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. Managed to use all the weights, but it was tough going a few times. Apparently, the last month of doing one part per day worked pretty well to get me ready for this. I don't think I'd have pulled it off as well if I'd jumped right in the beginning of the year.

And let me just say that it hasn't even been the usual 24 hrs before I get sore. Those walking lunges more than did there job and I'll be remembering them every time I sit down and stand up today!

I did do a fair number of the push ups on my toes, but let it be noted "I DON'T LIKE THEM." :p

Hope you all get off to a great start of the week. I started mine with an early morning orthodontist appt for Derek. Helps me see that our usual mid-day appt works better than one that has us leaving at 8 a.m. Especially since I didn't finish my workout until just about 7:30!

Good Morning to All,

I had an uneventful weekend. We did watch the SuperBowl yesterday and enjoyed the game. My favorite team though is the Dallas Cowboys. I really hope that they get it together for next year.

Cathy- 300 walking Lunges - that is quite a few. My don't you like pushups? Is this your first round of STS?

Jenn- It took me a while to master 'Not Your Momma's Step'. I learned it a little at a time. I too like complex step.

Janis- you goty your wish- Green Bay won!

Kim- yes you did brillantly with STS! How is your rotation going?

Workout today- Supreme 90 - Total Body and Classical Stretch.

Have a Great Monday!

Regina should I have been clearer about my feelings regarding push-ups. :D

And no, not new to STS. This is my 4th round of STS. Did the 6 1/2 version, 3 1/2 and an undulating one. Just doing the regular version this time.

It's Fresh Start Monday! (that's how I seem to view all Mondays)

How is everyone?

Cathy - Wow, girl, I'm impressed. After being away, not getting enough sleep, staying up late, driving home, tending to the family and working on your rotation - you persisted and got a great workout in! ^^^Standing Ovation^^^. Pretty inspiring! And you were hardly indulgent with the chocolate, sugar, and treats either. Way to go! I'm not sure I could have eaten breast shaped cookies! It's a good thing they weren't creme filled - eeewwwweeee.:D:eek: I didn't do all the push ups on my toes in disc 1 either, crimminee...they always come as such a shock! So, my dear, twelve weeks takes you to Easter. I know you can do it, because you always do what you set your mind to, but as incentive I will be sending you a yoga related surprise along about the end of April. What are you knitting these days?

MJ - As always - thank you for starting the thread. I hope the rain waits until after tennis practice. Congrats on starting your Monday off on the right foot! (pun intended :p)

Regina - I used to be a Dallas Cowboys fan when I lived in AZ, which was l o o o n n n g g g before they had any pro teams of their own. When I moved to N. California, well, naturally I became a 49ers fan. We lived for a little while in Wisconsin, my middle son was born there and my husband is from there, so I became a Green Bay fan....even while they were still chronically losing, then they started winning! Yay - Brett Favre! Now we root for two football teams. The game was exciting, no? I was wondering do you watch your sodium intake? I seem to bloat up and retain a ton of water if I have even a small amount of salted, air popped popcorn. It could be both corn and salt, even so - I was wondering if it was just me. ?

Jenn - Way to go on your back to back classes, it sounds like a lot of fun and a great way to spend a Sunday.:)

Donna - I hope everything is going well, did you start Meso 2?

As for me - today was Meso 2, week 1, disc 13 S C T. I like Meso 2. Before I started lifting I ran/walked on the tm for 27 minutes. After lifting Rowan, my youngest DS, and I went for a walk in the woods. Has anyone noticed Denise during the warm up sections of the discs she is on? I love STS and have zippo complaints, but I just cannot help noticing her movements are not dynamic at all....they seem more dance-y or stretch-y than the sort of muscular movement Cathe is doing. For some reason this bugs me, a lot. Yes, I know, Be Indifferent. lol! :D:D:D

Waving hello to all who post after me, Suzie, Kim, Kimberly, Tara, Elena, Mary, Melissa.....

Oh - this week will be a bit different for me, I have appts, people to see, places to go, so M-T-W I will do STS, then two off days in a row, then rehab/Pilates on Saturday, and maybe yoga on Sunday. Yoga seems to be tweaking my injury a little, so maybe I'll do something else..more rehab/Pilates.

Have a good one!
:D

Janis believe me, if the circumstances had been any different I wouldn't have done the workout. The cookies probably wouldn't be a hit with most people, but with this group they definitely were. Made it through today without sugar. I bought yarn to make a hat, scarf and headband. Got the hat made at the retreat and started the scarf.

For the most part I ignore the odd stuff in STS, but you are right about Denise. The warm-ups for chest, shoulders and biceps in Meso 1 crack me up, because Brenda gets off beat and just can't get back on in one part and she looks like she's about to bust out laughing. Today was also one of the few times Erik was actually in a workout. Still wonder why he disappeared so quickly.

Morning Warriors!

Janis- What do you mean you cant eat breast cookies? lol I am sure I could find some other cookie cutter cookies that may make you more squeamish if necessary. lol We will have to wait until you are eating sugar again before I send you a care box of cookies. ;) Good job on keeping up with C25k and STS. What week are you on with the C25k now?

Cathy- Sounds like a good weekend away! Looks like I will be doing STS rotation right along with you. I have been so inconsistent with getting myself going on STS that I am doing week 1 this week too. Perhaps being accountable to keep up with you will help me stick with it.

As for me, no tennis last night due to rain. :( This morning I did step moves and tonight I will do C25k run/walk and STS back/triceps.

Hello to our other workout warriors....come out, come out wherever you are. :D

Off to get some work done... catch up later.

Good job on keeping up with C25k and STS. What week are you on with the C25k now?

:eek::eek: I'mma not sure....uh....3rd week:confused::confused:? I know, I am bad:eek:. It's cuz I am only running 2x a week. I'll have to look back to see when I started.

Today was also one of the few times Erik was actually in a workout. Still wonder why he disappeared so quickly.

You know what? - I never noticed he disappeared! That's how well I pay attention.

I did my workout like you this morning - before the sun came up. I was thinking, "Ah ha, this is how Cathy gets so much done in a day." :D

Now I need a nap, but no napping for the weary....I just have to plug along. But I did take some new photos of Rowan today. http://www.flickr.com/photos/rowanredspoo/

Man oh man, is the wind suddenly cold, but I have absolutely nothing to gripe about compared to yous'all.

Uh, you're not wearing the hat and the scarf at the same time, are ya?:p

I still LOVE the scarf you knit me. It looks fabulous with my brown wool pea-coat.

:D

It definitely does help to get my workout out of the way first thing. This morning was Lower Body Blast. In looking at this rotation I created, I can really see that I didn't take my schedule into account at all. Putting double workouts on days we aren't home in the afternoon, putting Plyo Legs the day after LBB. I usually am much more with it than that when I create rotations. Definite adjustments will be happening.

I took a nap for you this afternoon and I'm still tired. I think I've hit the part of my cycle where I nap a few days in a row, but that's just a guess because they are getting longer and longer.

Tomorrow is a sledding day and the windchill is supposed to be -15 during the day. I will be warm and snug in the warming house, the boys can venture out if they want.

Not wearing the scarf with the hat, cause it's not done yet. ;)

Hello all Warriors!

Cathy- I am like you. I like to get my workout out of the way the first thing in the morning. If I do it first thing then the days activities can not get in the way. Pylo Legs, after LBB - do you love pain ( smile)?

Janis - my husband and one of my sons are having major football withdrawal. What no Monday night football they lamented! I do not really watch my sodium intake but I do not tend to eat foods that are high in sodium and I never add any salt to food or in cooking.

workout last night- Supreme 90 - Total Body
workout this am- Power Walk

Well I am off to get ready for tomorrow!

Good Morning Warriors!

Any one doing anything special for valentines day? DH and I have nothing special planned. He frequently surprises me, so many days are like valentines day.

If you had to pick just one (One Only!) what is your favorite workout and why?

Workout last night- Supreme 90- shoulders and arms
Workout this morning- Turbo Fire and classical stretch

Hey strangers! I had my daughter's friend here all weekend and they monopolized my laptop playing on Club Penguin and watching people's silly YouTube videos of their Webkinz or Littlest Pet Shops. So funny. These girls make video stories with their toys, my daughter actually made a great one where the daughter of a busy working mother accidentally gets sent to an orphanage because her mom was trying to listen to the daughter while on a conference call, and just ended up agreeing to whatever it was they were saying on the call. I do that ALL the time, but fortunately they've never made me send my daughter to an orphanage.

I did my longish run on Sunday - 6 miles on the 'mill. Was supposed to start Meso 2 on Monday, but was so busy with work that I didn't get a chance to run to the grocery store during lunch and had to to my shopping when I finished at 5:00. Then by the time I got home from shopping and fed my daughter, I didn't feel like spending another hour working out before I could have dinner.

No biggy... I started last night. It's nice to be into Meso 2 - I think the workouts seem to go faster. Maybe it's because there aren't as many different exercises and there's more time in between to change your weights, so you don't have to press pause. Maybe it's because there are no more push-ups!

Had a 40 minute run yesterday morning and another this morning. Yesterday I was supposed to keep my heartrate under 70% max, but today was a more intense one and I did Cardio Coach 8. That's my favorite one, but I didn't finish the last challenge because it would have put me about 10 minutes past my 40 minute mark and well.... I had overslept and needed to get moving on my day. No weight work this afternoon, but I'm thinking a nap may be in order.

Regina - if I had to pick a favorite workout, I think it's Buts & Guts. It's just a really tough, effective and fun workout.

This morning was Disk 2 Back & Triceps. Let me just say that attempting to mix Cathe's February rotation with STS is a bad idea. I'm just going to wait and do it after I'm done with STS. This weekend I'll go back through everything and redo it into something more feasible. I just don't have that much time to workout right now, and my knee just can't take that much lower body work.

Janis it looks like I'm going to make it through day 3 of no sugar!

Donna my youngest, who then taught my oldest, has been making a lot of movies lately and some of them are actually pretty funny. They have however, been watching to much Scooby Doo and the themes tend to be a tad bit on the plagiaristic side, fortunately, they aren't going further then our house, so no lawsuits will ensue.

The whole favorite workout thing is really tough. Especially if you can't have one in each category. I guess I'd have to say Legs & Glutes, but there are others that are right behind it.

Hi Warrior Women!

Regina - Yeah, I don’t add salt and try to avoid foods with salt, but some foods seem to have a lot – whey protein, cottage cheese, shrimp...come to mind. Just a small amount at the wrong time of the month – and I turn into a thirsty puff ball. Let’s see favorite workout- does all of STS count? Ok ok…how about Lower Body Blast. I’ve only done it once, but it became an instant favorite.

Donna – Hey, it’s nice to hear from you! It’s good to know you are alive and well. :) Your daughter came up with a hilarious story. Our digital age children play with their toys a lot differently than we did; how creative and fun! Congrats on getting your runs in and starting Meso 2. I like Meso 2 also, the straight up lifting is always a pleasant change. When we did STS, as an undulating rotation, it was Meso 1 that kicked our butts every single time we came back to the higher reps.

Today I walked/ran on the TM 28 minutes. MJ - It was the third workout of week 3, but my fourth week of running. I do a ten minute walking warm-up (per my physical therapist) then c2 5K.

After the TM I did STS – Meso 2 disc 15…back and biceps. I like working back and biceps together, it seems more complimentary than back and triceps, although, I think my favorite-ist is back and chest together.

Then - - - you guessed it --- a vigorous walk with Rowan.;)

Warriors that haven’t checked in – feel free to chime in at any time, even if you’ve been gone or don’t have much to say...just drop in to say hello. :)

:D:D:D

Hi everyone!!!

Sorry I haven't checked in lately. Been busy with work, working out, family. Will try to be better second half of the week.

I've been doing the Feb. rotation. Tough on the legs! Tonight was HIIT 30/30 followed by butts and guts. Only had time for the standing legs and part of the floorwork. No guts. I figured I did abs yesterday, and they're scheduled for tomorrow too.

Kim nice kitty pic! Do you have an iPhone or iPod Touch? I've got this app that plays bird calls, so I can figure out what kind of bird I'm hearing in my yard (yeah, I know... nerd alert) and I had it out the other night. I was irritated while watching Hawaii Five-O because you could clearly hear the call of a black-crested chickadee in the jungle, but it's a Northern US bird... not Hawaiin. Anyway, I was playing it's song for my boyfriend to prove my point and my cats were going NUTS! Running in from the other rooms to find the bird, looking out the windows... really funny.

Haven't worked out yet today, but will be doing Meso 2 Week 1 Legs tonight. I got my kettlebell the other day in preparation for Saturday, which was to be my first kettlebell workout. But then I remembered I'm climbing 40 flights of stairs on Saturday morning, so kettlebell will wait until next week.

Hi Warriors-

Quick check in from work...played tennis last night, was a bump on a log this morning and didnt get up in time to workout, tonight should be doing C25k run/walk and STS legs.

Glad to see some of you pop back up in check-in land. :)

Will be back later tonight to catch up....

(makes quick note to self for future reference...Janis has a strictly heterosexual preference in cookies :D)
