Workout Shoes

Lately my Nike shoes are starting to hurt my feet whenever I do High Impact Workouts. I really would like to find good shoes that don't cost so much. May be 50$. Does that exist? I mean I will pay 100$ if I have to but what's the point if my Nikes don't even last a year!!! What shoes do you suggest. I am in Canada, so I can't really order from US online. I have to find something in stores so I don't pay too much shipping. Suggestion?

I'm curious too. I have no idea how to pick fitness shoes. I just go and try on a bunch till I find some that "feel" good. I got nikes last time too and sometimes my feet hurt a bit. I think its a bit narrow in the toe area too and I have small feet. ? I'm wondering if there are shoes that are good for preventing shin splints? I tend to get them in some of my high impact cardio workouts. Makes me not want to get them out even though I like to do them.

Darine, do you have a Running Room store in your area? I bought the Adrenaline Brooks 8 runners as suggested on the forum but they did not feel very good to me. So I went to the Running Room and they are very knowledgeable with respect to their runners and the ones best suited to your feet. I told her what my issues were with my stride. I tried on a number of shoes that suited my stride until I found ones that fit best. You will probably pay about 100 though.

The lady at the store advised that you should purchase runners that are a half size larger than your normal size.

Well, I paid $90.00 for my Under Armours which is more than I would usually spend but I loooooove these shoes. I have a narrow foot and these fit perfectly and feel like slippers with lotsa heel cushion.
