Well I have been walking Rover (yes, he has a name now) about 3K in the morning and about 5K before dinner and an other 3K before bed. Never walked that much myself (bicycle or car for me). I have this toy, a long plastic thingy that can hold a ball at the end. If you swing it, you can throw the ball much further than you can without it. I made plenty use of it the past few days to make Rover run as much as possible when we were out walking.
So I think he's ready now to start running with me. I'll take him on a 4K run this afternoon before dinner(with a walkbreak every 5 minutes). And we'll build up from there. Or would 4K as his first time run be too much you think?
I'll be taking him out for short runs (no more than 3K) at 6AM as a cardio warm up, adding on a 30min Cathe UB workout starting Monday. And try to get some sort of workout schedule going again. For now, P90X is on hold until I can work out for a whole 60minutes again before or after work.
BTW you runners, you think I should keep him on a leash when I'm running or let him run freely. Thing is we'll be crossing one road doing the 4K and running part of the way on a road when we build mileage.
