Cathe,
I recently started watching your show on FIT TV and just love it. My question is, I am just a beginner and sometimes I become very frustrated because I fall behind in the workout due to the speed and intensity, I want to become very successful with a workout routine and start seeing some results. Could you please give me some direction on which routine or episode I should start with to achieve my goal. I have a DVR and have taped many of the episodes but do not feel they are appropriate for a beginner.

Thanks for you time,

DCerveny

Hi, DCerveny! In case Cathe doesn't see this, I wanted to let you know what I did as a beginner. I started out with Basic Step and Body Fusion (these two workouts are on one DVD and there's a bonus Upper Body, Lower Body and Abdominal workout). I would also recommend Low Impact Step. This DVD also has bonus beginner toning routines and also has premixes. High Step Circuit is also a beginner/intermediate workout that makes use of a High Step, light weights and resistance bands. These should get you started if you're new to step and weight training. After mastering these, I was able to move onto Super Sets & Push Pull for weight training, Low Max for step and Low Impact Circuit for a cardio and weights. A lot of Cathe's workouts are modifiable i.e. don't go as heavy as she does, don't do as many reps and in step workouts, march in place when you get winded. You still get a good workout and as time goes by, you will find that you don't need as many breaks. HTH

ETA-if you look in the rotations forum, you'll find Cathe's Official Beginner Rotation which incorporates the workouts I mentioned above.

as far as the fit tv workouts go i think that step jump and pump and cardio and weights are not as intense as most of the other workouts. i would modify where needed and use lighter weights and you will be able to do all of the workouts before you know it.
