Dutchie...as for the gels and sports drinks, I forgot that you really don't need those until you start doing ALOT of distance. Today back to P90X...AbRipper and Back & Chest. I might do a short cardio to warm up a bit....have a great day ladies...:)...Carole
 
Hi everyone

Carole, I've ordered you favorite nutrition book from Amazon yesterday. I can hardly wait to read it.
P90X, and I'm wiped out. Do you wear you hr monitor? I did today, hr up to 146 at certain points. Before I had a good 25 min on the Nordictrack, steady good effort, hr on the high 150 and low 160's. Abs tomorrow.

Wow...you ordered "Eat to Live"?....the first couple of chapters are a bit boring but then it really picks up. No, I usually only wear my HR monitor when I am doing cardio. I was happy to increase the weight for the few back exercises with weight to 20lb. I am doing Ab Ripper this afternoon....:)...Carole
 
Hi all, I did PS Chest today then did Rhythmic Step minus the challenge, boy I really don't have that one down yet. On the 3rd combo I almost fell down when I went down the board but my feet got caught and didn't move. UGH!! I thought I was gonna fall or twist my ankle, whew!! Good thing I recovered.:) I did however do better on the first 2 combos so that is improvement. I did not do abs today :( , my workout was running into lunch for the boys and I was out of steam after all that stepping.

Now today it is sunny and I WILL lay in the sun.:7 :D

Evening all,

We had our very own P90X kick-off today!! We did Back&Chest+Ab Ripper. Totally different from what I have ever done before. First round of push ups I did on my toes and 10+ reps. Second round I went down on my knees and did 10- reps:) My son was having loads of fun but I had to keep an eye on his form. Using "my tubes" to sub the pull-ups worked well:) He subbed the weights with the tubes as well. I warned him he might be pretty sore tomorrow. We added on Ab Ripper - my was that a humbling experience. I thought my abs were in really good shape.... Some of the exercises were no problem at all, others, I couln't even lift my legs of the floor. Hats off to you ladies who can do the whole workout. You're in better shape then I am.

BTW one of my colleagues used to be a dietician and she said that my recent weightloss might be because I wasn't eating enough calories given my daily workout expenditure. She warned me though that eating the bad kind of calories for too long would cause weight gain again. So I ordered Nancy Clark's Sports Nutrition of Amazon.co.uk. What book on nutrition is your favorite Carole?

Well Annette, I was able to get some sun also...at least til these clouds moved in...:(...rain for tomorrow I think! I can still workout though..:)...Dutchie congrats on your first P90X workout. I will be curious to see if you and your son are a bit sore. As for Ab Ripper, we all were humbled the first time. You won't believe how much you will be able to do the next few times. I still have some where my form is off and that last oblique one where he does 40! I can barely make 30 and I've done it 6 times...:)...The "Eat to Live" book by Dr Joel Fuhrman is slowly turning me into a vegetarian, but after the first week of withdrawals from all the crap I had been eating I feel better than I ever have...:)..My Hubby has even lost 19 lbs....which is truly amazing...:)...Carole
 
Hello everybody. Carole I'm glad your hubby is losing weight. That's great :)

Yesterday I did CTX: KF (cardio), CTX: step &int (chest), KF (biceps, abs and stretch) Today my arms are pumped (LOL). It was a tough day and today is going to be another tough day. Oh well. Have a great day everybody.
 
Thanks Rose11...he is very happy and not usually this good about cutting out junk food. He even turned down home made cookies yesterday and took them to work for his buddies instead! Sounds like you had a good workout...:)...Carole
