Mets
The term METs refers to metabolic equivalents. Mets is a value used to measure the intensity of an exercise or activity. Aerobics usually has a Met value of 6 to 8 mets, walking 3 - 4 mets, running cross county about 9 mets, sleeping has a met value of slightly less than 1 and watching TV comes in unfortunately at only 1 Met. The higher the met value the more intense the activity is. When multiplied by the duration of the exercise or activity we can then determine the calories you burned while working out.
