Workout Manager - Important!

We're planning on going live with new Beta 3.0 Workout Manager within the next 24 hours unless we encounter some unexpected problems. You should print any STS workout cards you may need for the next several days just in case we have some issues moving the WM from the test server to the live site. The WM site will go down during this update.

This will be the first of 5 upgrades we have planned for the Workout Manager over the next several months. In this update you will find a much improved interface and reports system as well as a food search, food diary, food calendar and even a weight loss forecaster.

Our next planned updates are:

1. Rank - this update will show where you rank among the Cathletes for things like, number of completed workouts, Distance traveled, time spent working out, calories burned etc.

2. Challenges - You will be able to join a challenge for things like, lose 10 lbs, lose 20 lbs, lose 30 lbs, run 100 miles etc. This will allow you to find and communicate with other Cathletes who have similar goals as you do. The Challenge section will also help to motivate you by letting you see your challenge groups progress.

3. Competitions - this will be a fun section where you will be able to enter our virtual fitness competitions. We will have events as simple and short as a Cathlete push up contest to something as long as a run across America contest. Cathe will create some special events just for the section and we will even have our own virtual triathlon.

4. iPhone/mobile phone app - This will be the year our Workout Manager will become an app for your mobile device.

Hopefully the new update will go smoothly, but we're sure that there will be update problems and issues we will have to fix next week. We would also like to hear any input any of you have about what you would like our developers to add or improve in the Workout Manager. Any ideas about challenges or competitions would especially be appreciated. Be sure to let us know of any problems and Bugs you find after we go live.

YAY........glad I've been working on my stroke, technique and endurance in the water! :D :D :D

How awesome you guys! Great job, as usual!

Will the mobile app work on a Blackberry?

Right now I don't see a Blackberry app for the Cathe forums and since it can be cumbersome using the web browser to view the forums, I just don't do it from my Blackberry (and I am perfectly ok with that so I don't want to give the impression I am complaining here ;)).

I would love to see a Blackberry app for the Workout Manager though! :D

Thanks!

What does going live on Beta mean?

Sorry, I don't meant to be...I really don't know.

Janie

Beta means the application is still in development and will have bugs that need to be fixed. Going live just means we have moved the application from our test server to the server all of you use. This is now done and the new Workout Manager is now up. You may need to click refresh or clear your browsers cache to see it.

Possibly, but I don't yet. We will definitely first develop for the iPhone and then Android. Blackberry is a strong possibility, but we haven't gotten that far yet in our planning.

Wow!!! You're just going mad with the technical stuff. Awesome. Looking forward to the App on my iPod since I'm always fighting to get my laptop from my daughter while I'm working out.
