workout for 2 december

Good morning everyone!

I wonder what has happened to Cathe? I hope she is okay, and just really busy getting the Hardcore series out the door before Christmas.

TOday, I will do abs from Ab Hits and probably 30-40 minutes worth. Also, I want to Step Blast but I am sore from the last few days so we'll see how the day goes.

I am very busy at work these days getting ready to leave for a 3 month vacation to BC. We go twice a year and I am so in need of a break from work. WHen we are working we work 7 days a week 8-12 hours per day. My mind is fried and I really need to get away.

Good morning Suzanne and everyone else,

This morning was Leaner Legs for the first time - Yep, I'll be feeling that one tomorrow- I only used a 25lb. barbell and that was plenty today. I did get out of a few reps since my balance was terrible this morning on those one-legged squats. I wasn't sure if I would but I actually like that workout-the time just flies.

Suzanne-have a great time on your vacation. I hope you will still have access to these forums!:)

Jes- did you get my post about ME yesterday(I hope it made sense)?

I was wondering about Cathe too. I can't imagine how busy she must be working at the new studio, getting Hardcore ready, decorating, Christmas shopping and.... Besides, I'm sure her family hasn't gotten to see too much of her lately. If I were her, I'd probably sleep right through January;)

Have a great,
Wendy

Wow Suzanne....3 mos in BC! I hope you have an awesome time...:)

Wendy....LL is a killer, I think because she moves from one exercise to the next so fast!

Yes, I bet Cathe is swamped....I ended up caving and ordering Power Half Hour from Beachbody, as I am ending my P90X rotation in 2 weeks and these are 30 min workouts. I needed something to keep me busy before I get Hardcore..

Today I am doing Cathe's ab marathon, PS floor legs, and a 6 or 7 mile run.

It is so great to see this thread growing. I enjoy reading all the workouts....:)....Carole

Hi good morning everybody.

Suzanne I hope you will have a great vacations.

Wendy learner legs for the first time.It is a hard time.

Carole I am going to do the abs maraton too. Today I am going to start the 2004 august rotation.It seems great to slim down the glutes .That's what I need to look awesome in my rio de janeiro clothes.

Everybody have a great day and enjoy your workouts.

Good morning ladies! I hope you are all feeling great today. I didn't make it all the way through Imza2 yesterday. only half, so i am finishing it today. i can make it till the end if i modify eveything,but yesterday i was full speed, so only half! Have fun sweating!

wendy...no i didn't see your post...i'll go look!

jes:)

Morning all! Today was Step Blast Combo 1, 2 and 3 and then abs from SJ&P.

Wendy - I debated doing LL this morning, but figured I'd wait until tomorrow. It's a killer and my legs were still a little sore from ME. Actually I'm just making excuses because I know that workout is going to put me on the verge of tears. :D

Suzanne - Have a great time! I'm so jealous!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

Good morning!

IMAX Extreme was on the books for this morning, and I woke up with only enough motivation to go back to sleep. BUT, the coffee pot with the timer had already brewed its seductive beverage and I could smell it wafting through the chilly morning air, calling my name. So, I abandoned my warm nest and groped my groggy way down the stairs, to find my Nirvana. Even after warming up my insides with a hot and creamy cup of Spiced Eggnog coffee, I still wanted to go straight back to bed. So the self-bargaining began:

"I don't have to do the whole thing; I can stop any time I want";

"It starts off really easy and comfortable";

"There's only 8 intervals - 16 minutes out of 85, how hard is that?";

"If I start and it really isn't working for me today, I can just skip all the IMAX2 bits and do only the CW cardio";

"If I feel this lousy now, imagine how lousy I'll feel if I don't workout at all?";

and my eternal favourite: "Do it anyway!"

The result? I did the entire workout and kicked butt! This is a strange phenomenon I noticed a long time ago. When I least feel like working out, I end up having the best workouts! It may be because I take it really slow and gentle at the start, and have such low expectations of my own performance. Does anyone else find this to be the case? Mind you, if I got part way into a workout and things just kept feeling worse, I would definitely quit. But I have certainly learned from experience that my pre-workout mental state is like the Siren from Homer's Odyssey, and must be ignored at all costs. Then I did PUB core.

Er, Suzanne, I just about fell off my chair when you apologized to *me* about being longwinded yesterday! :D Surely I can claim top prize in that category?? (witness above)

Annette, that rotation looks really, really good!! I am very tempted to give it a try. I've never done those cardio premixes in that rotation, but I'll bet they would be a very effective use of 30 minutes. Is there any particular reason for the upper body work to be done on those specific days, or in that order? Depending on which circuit workout I picked for Saturday, I might not want to do biceps the day before.

Laurie, what 2 dvds did you order? Yes, that 1-2-3 hop turn in combo three can also be tricky for the knee, I agree. SW was either my first or second Cathe workout, and I remember how it about killed me at the time. It was my WORKout, to be done only after a day of rest. Now it's just fun and I can depend on it to give me a great sweat. I still think it's one of her most intense non-interval step workouts.

Sandy, I'm sorry to report that CTX does indeed use the same music as CM and CK. This is the primary reason why I don't do these workouts together very much. I find the actual workouts soooo good; it's unfortunate that the music is such a turn off to so many people. If I intersperse them with her other stuff, I can take it for the short duration. My mom stayed with us for a week in September, and one morning when I finished CK, she yelled from the kitchen, "Thank god that's over!!" LOL. BTW, for some reason I never notice the music while doing the Upper Body Split, or Leaner Legs. It's not the exact same music as during the cardio segments, but of a similar vein. It just seems to remain in the background much more; except for that Scottish ditty playing during the 3 rounds of leg presses (she lies when she says she's only going to do 2 rounds!).

Marla, do you have a cold? I hate taking night-time medication for the reason you mentioned; I feel so groggy the next day. Did you manage HSTA last night? Didn't Cathe do some workouts for CIA once upon a time ago?

Josie, CONGRATULATIONS on becoming a grandmother!!! Does your son's family live close to you, so that you'll be able to see the baby frequently? Even greater news on the MIL going home ;-)

Jes, I second Wendy's advice about which weights to get for ME. While doing the chest move with the ball, Cathe even specifically states that any ball will do; using the med ball just recruits more shoulder.

Ruth, how are you feeling? We're only roaring along because we are in full health.

Have a good day!
Sandra

It's hard to believe, but I actually forgot a few things I wanted to say.

Wendy, I'm glad to hear how well LL went for you! It does just fly by, doesn't it? How'd you like those low-end plie squats at the end. Those are what do me in every time.

Suzanne, where in BC do you get to go for 3 months??? I LOVE BC, and have plans to retire in the Okanagan Valley. How sad is it that I don't even have a real job yet, and I've already decided where I will retire? DH and I hiked the West Coast Trail 6 years ago; have you ever done that?

Mariángeles, August's rotation has a lot of running, doesn't it? Will you be subtituting, or doing as is? It's a tough rotation! Good luck!

Jes, good work on giving IMAX2 all you've got! Enjoy Part II today!

Carole, intense little workout you have planned for today! Enjoy!

Katie, SB!! Fun! Fun! Fun!

Okay, I'm done now :)

Oh nooooo!! All I have to say is thank goodness the music has improved over the years, LOL:) Perhaps you never notice the music for LL or UBS because you are concentrating on just surviving those particular workouts;)?? I guess the music had to be particularly bad for your mom to have made that comment, huh??

Katie, isn't SB soooo much fun????

Suzanne, wow! I hope you have a wonderful vacaction! I would love to visit BC one day it looks so incredibly beautiful!! Will you be continuing to stay in touch here at the forum or will you be on a complete hiatus??

Carole....I got my freddy shoes on tuesday night!! I wore them to my step class last night and I really love them:7 I think they are the same ones you have..high impact trainer?? I felt lots of cushioning where I needed it the most.......I am telling you these are the best workout shoes I've EVER owned!! :7 :D

Have a great day everyone!

Hello:

Fiddlefit: We have a vacation home in Victoria BC. I love it there. I have a gym I belong to which helps me not get bored with Cathe tapes. The gym has the best Step classes I have ever taken. The classes are the same intensity of Cathe tapes and sometimes harder. Twice a week we have a superstep class that lasts 1.25h. I love it and I miss the gym when I am in Chicago. I have made lots of friends in Victoria at the gym which I miss when I am in Chicago working. I have no time to have friends in Chicago with all the working we do. I have never hiked the West Coast Trail but we do enjoy the Juan deFuca Trail very much.

Suzanne,

You're on the island!! Oh, you are soooooooo lucky!!! Juan deFuca, if memory serves, is on the same coast, just a bit farther south, right? It's newer, and meant to take some of the crowds away from the WCT, if I recall correctly. I imagine the two trails must be very similar. Aaaahhhh, Vancouver Island. I can almost smell the fresh air. Last time I was there I got drunk in a karaoke bar.

Are you Canadian? Why do you come to BC?
Cheers,
Sandra
-desperately wants to visit Vancouver Island again, and again.....

Sandra, I think the only reason for doing them in this order is that is how they are laid out in the Slow & Heavy series, 1 workout is S&H Chest and Back, while one is S&H Shoulders & Legs and the 3rd one is Triceps and Biceps so I think the poster was just doing in the order that they are on the workouts. You could do them in a different order and I don't see a problem with doing that.:D

And of course she also stated that if you get tired of doing Slow and Heavy you can do the PS or Pyramids to mix it up some which is nice. And the workouts are shorter using PS or the Pyramids.

I did PUB Triceps today and I was going to do IMAX 1 the 1st 5 intervals since the rotation called for high intensity intervals but I did CTX 10-10-10 instead and lo and behold she had some intervals in there too, I hadn't done it in a long time(so I didn't remember what all was in that workout) so I still got some intervals in,LOL!!:+ :D

Hope you all have a great day!!:D

Hi Ladies,

Today will be spinning again. I will be running the OC Marathon this weekend and I'm tapering for it.

Sandra - My son and my DIL live in Oceanside and it is only about 1.5 hours away for LA, so you know that I will be there often and they also come to visit us when they run out of junk food. That is what they tell me.

Josie

Hi, Sandra. I am going to substitute the running with MIC hi/low and others cardio workouts. Yesterday I subtitute the 20 minutes of running with the 37 minutes cardio premix in KPC.Have a great weekend everybody.
