workout for 12/1/04

Hello ,

Since reading the forum yesterday, today I decided to do Rock Steady Step by Seasun Zieger. 78 minutes of pure step fun that I forgot about until yesterday.

Hope everyone has a good enjoyable workout!

Suzanne-WOW! 78 minutes of pure step good for you-now go rest:).

This morning was Circuit Max. This was my first time doing this workout and I like the mix of Kickboxing, Hi Lo, and Step mixed with weights.

Has anyone ever tried CIA workouts and what do you think? Someone posted about the presale they are having that ends today and it sounds like quite a deal but I've never tried any of them so I would like some input. Thanks.

Good mornign ladies!! Today is Imax2 for me. First i have to go help GM decorate for xmas...hope your workouts are fabulous! Happy sweating!

Wendy....i was thinking of geting that workout too. It looks fun and i have heard nothing but good reviews! The only other CIAs that i have heard alot about are Kristen Kagans and these were mixed reviews.

Tonight is my advanced step class at my gym and if I have enough steam left I will try to do PLB stability ball legs.

Suzanne....what a workout...great job:7!

Wendy I've never heard of CIA workouts until someone posted about that...I'm interested to learn more about this as well.

Wendy...I did some CIA step videos about 10 years ago....wasn't very impressed, but things could be different now...

Sandra....I have to say after the PLB yesterday my glutes are talking today!!!

I am doing P90X Shoulders & Arms and a 5 mile run today.....have a great day ladies...:)...Carole

Good morning!

This morning I did Step Works followed by PS chest, shoulders, triceps. Phew! I had to pause PS after the shoulder work so I could put a pony-tail in my daughter's hair. I could barely keep my arms up long enough to get the pony tail in! My arms are exhausted. Grocery shopping this afternoon should be fun ;( I always enjoy the stretch in SW, with the Leanne Rhimes song. It's very nice.

Laurie, from the perspective of an instructer, what do you think of Cathe's full turn in the second combo of Step Works? I enjoy it as a move, but often think the potential for twisting a knee or ankle is pretty high. I know she suggests modifications prior to the workout, but it still surprises me that she included it. She's never put it in another workout.

Suzanne, how does the intensity of Seasun's workout compare to Cathe's?

Wendy, I'm glad you enjoyed CM so much! I think it's a great workout. Just enough of everything, but not too much of anything. I agree with a comment Laurie made a while ago about the hi/lo being some of Cathe's better work. The stationary circuit with the monkey arms was a nice change of pace from her usual stuff. I wish she would include more of that in her hi/lo work. And the core work at the end is so quick and short it almost feels easy :)

Jes, enjoy IMAX2! "I know you're tired, but jump HIGHER!" That's my favourite all-time Cathe phrase, and I use it even in my daily life to get me motivated on something. That, and the phrase "Do it anyway..." keep me going when it seems I've got every excuse in the book to quit. BTW, Circuit Max is a really, really good workout, but the music is the same as the CTX series, so I'm afraid you might be less than impressed with that. I know how much you enjoy that CTX music ;)

Sandy, enjoy your gym workout! Bicep work with a 10lb barbell, a la Power Hour endurance training? Sounds like a good weight to me! And it's great, actually, that your arms were tired; it means you worked really hard in your previous workouts.

Carole, LOL about the talking glutes! That's hardly surprising! Quite a workout you did! It's a kind chatter, I hope! Enjoy your run today. This must be an active recovery day for you, with only 5 miles on the menu.

Mariángeles, that's 2 people so far for CM today. A nice workout, hey? And I'm impatiently waiting for the December rotation, too. As well as more details about the HC workouts! The LowMax details were such a tease!

Haylee, what are Sissy Squats? And if squats are what you're after, then LL has plenty!

Marla, did HSTA hit the spot yesterday? How are your legs today?

Morning all! This morning was PUB followed by cardio from Step & Intervals. During my whole cardio workout my husband sat watching while holding our 10 month old and during the blasts he'd start going "Yaaaaay!!" so my daughter would start clapping. It was very difficult to keep from laughing.

Suzanne - 78 mintues of pure step cardio!!! Wow!!! Good for you!!!

Sandra - I've had many a time where I can barely raise my arms to shampoo my hair after upper body.

Haydee, my apologies. I didn't mean to call you Haylee in my previous post.

Oooh, Katie! Just this morning as I was grunting my way through PS shoulder work, I decided that next week will include PUB! I *love* that workout, and like to do it about 2 times a month.

That's very sweet about the hubby and the daughter. Isn't it nice to feel you have their support? This morning during the StepWorks stretch, as I was dripping sweat everywhere, my 4 year old told me that I did a good job. I was beyond pleased :)

Good late-morning to you ladies. I must admit I fizzelled-out last night. No HSTA for me. But its on for tonight. And in penance I shall do an additional light 20" run on my treadmill.

I took Benadryl the night before last night & the rest of yesterday I felt so groggy.

Ladies, you're making me feel like a wimp.

Wendy- I have a few step CIA videos that are advanced but I can't get into them. They seem to do their own thing & forget we're steping along with them.

Hello All! This morning I started with 50 minutes power yoga and then did the Gauntlet, great workout. I am loving the Terminator workouts and am ordering myself 2 more DVD's before Hardcore comes out.

Carole, you were right about PS Legs, they were still singing to me yesterday and after today's workout they feel worked and strong!!

Sandra, I think StepWorks is awesome too. Sometimes I don't do the full turn in combo 2 but if I'm full of pi$$ and vinegar I go for it (but WATCH OUT FOR THE LOW HANGING CEILING FAN!!:+ :D). I think members would have no problem modifying the 'full circle turn' to 'across the top', it's the '1-2-3 horse with a 3 jump turn to the back' in combo 3 that would be a hard sell!

I was really hoping for an update or workout breakdown today:-( . Gotta go run errands and I'll check back later:)

Hi Sandra,

Yeah it's very much like PH, but I guess I felt like I was cheating because I normally put on 15lbs and the barbell felt light:+! But I must have been working out harder than I realized in my previous workouts because my upper body is so sore today, especially my biceps if you could believe that!!

Quick question, you mentioned CTX music....Is it the same kind of music as in Circuit Max?? Ughh don't tell me that because I absolutely HATE it!!! Of course I will still buy it as it gets rave reviews here but I may have to play some of my own music if it's really that bad:eek: !!

Hi Ladies,

I'm back and I am officially a grandmother. My grandson's name is Michael Xavier and he is 7.4lbs and 19.5 inches long and I saw him being born. I will be spinning this evening and that will be all for me I'm very tired from the birth and having to entertain my MIL since Thanksgiving. I never want to take care of MIL again.

Cngratulations Josie.I have finished my workout for today: circuit max.Hoow .I am tired now but this workout deserve the effort. Where is Cathe? I was waiting for the december rotation. I have been all this week looking for new updates and nothing. Cathe and SNM must be very busy.

Congratulations Josie, on the grandson.

I did PUB Shoulders and abs minus planks, then did PLB standing leg work only. Weight down another 2-3 pounds so I was happy again this morning!!!:7

Question................ what weights do i need for ME? I want to be completely prepared to do it as soon as it gets here. I know i have to get a med ball. i have 4lbs and 10 lbs. 10 is the most i can do right now fo high reps. should i get 8lbs o something in between??

Here is the rotation you asked for Sandy:

Monday: S&H chest and 30 minutes high intensity intervals (step: Blast Mania premix off of ImaxII) and core work

Tuesday: S&H back and 30 minutes high intensity cardio (kick boxing: KPC conditioning and CK conditioning)

Wednesday: S&H Legs and Shoulders and core work

Thursday: S&H Triceps and 30 minutes of high intensity intervals ( BC cardio only premix two times)

Friday: S&H Biceps and 30 minutes cardio (Hi Lo, running or elliptical machine)

Saturday: Any circuit workout or one with both cardio and weights (CM, any Terminator workout, BC, C&W, SJP...) and core work

Sunday: rest or yoga
